I should know this by now but, don't blindly follow directions. I wasn't paying attention and ended up here by accident. Nice parking lot though.

I went here to find my smart light bulbs. Using the online website gave me the exact location of the bulbs making store navigation very easy consider the size of the store. So far the GE sync lights easy to install withe use of the app and are working out greater than anticipated.

I attended the store this morning looking to purchase some roofing materials to shingle a shed roof. I found the roofing section but was unable to locate the products I required. I had a hard time locating an employee for assistance for quite some time. I was finally able to locate two employees pulling a lumber order. I excused myself and asked the red haired bespeacled young fella with some facial growth. His response was it’s over there on the right hand side. His tone and answer was short and somewhat rude. I went back and still couldn’t find the product.. So I left and took my business to Home Depot who were receptive and helpful and took me to what I came to get. It’s really a shame because normally I find the customer service very good at the Bellingham store. I guess maybe someone was having an off day.

This store continues to get worse over time. I went in to buy a water heater that was in stock according to the web site. They told me that it was in stock but they were unable to sell it because of new laws. I get that, but it should not be listed on their inventory for same day pick up. They said I could buy another water heater for $100.00 more. That's called a BAIT and SWITCH. So now you can't even trust their web site when shopping. Wasted time and drive. Went to Home Depot and got one. At Home depot if an item is listed in stock and it's not avaiIable they upgrade you to the next highest priced item at no extra charge. I live practically next to Lowes and I will never go back to this store again. Going to Home depot in a minute.

Took 6 months for them to complete an install. Every time they set a new date for install, they'd call that same day, cancel the appointment, and book 4-6 weeks out. Follow-up calls were never returned. No efforts on their end to help find a solution. Told me they'd offer compensation at the end of it. What's the offer? Store credit. After paying hundreds and being dragged along and ignored for 6 months. Not only is this the worst service/experience I've ever had with a company, I still don't see it as resolved.

I've had much better experiences with Bellingham Home Depot in terms of service, responsiveness, efficiency, and project management. I'd recommend going through them and avoiding Lowe's, especially if you require any sort of installation.

It's a home improvement center. Need a tool, maybe some cleaners, or perhaps you're shopping for some flooring, appliances, windows, bathroom treatments, lumber, etc. It's a giant corporate hardware store, so don't think too hard about it. Staff is usually pretty attentive and nice. Prices are fare, return policies are good.

This place is fantastic because of the people that work here. Every single visit with every staff member has been positive. They are quick to help without judgement and go above and beyond to help with problem solving and creative solutions. The paint team is particularly helpful, especially with particular (picky) customers like me in getting the right color.

Steve at Lowe’s Pickup: The Real MVP

From the battlefield of Call of Duty to the asphalt jungle of retail parking lots, it’s rare to come across a teammate as clutch as Steve in the Lowe’s pickup department. I rolled up first thing in the morning to pick up a Hotpoint 4.6 cubic foot chest freezer — mission: cold storage. Steve materialized like a power-up, fast and efficient, ready to assist. No lag, no wait, just pure hustle.

But here’s where the man leveled up: the freezer didn’t fit in my ride. Plot twist. Most would’ve seen this as a “game over,” but not Steve. I had to call in backup with a pickup truck, and when I came back hours later — guess who was still grinding like a boss? That’s right, Steve. Not only did he remember me, he jumped back into action like I was loading into Warzone. Helped load the freezer with skill, grace, and a level of friendliness you’d expect from a guildmate, not a retail employee.

Steve isn’t just an employee. He’s a one-man squad.
He’s the kind of guy you want on your team — in-game and in life.
He’s what happens when hard work, great attitude, and absolute professionalism spawn into the real world.

Give that man a raise.
Name a tool aisle after him.
Put his face on a Lowe’s trading card.

In the words of the {UcL}Gamers crew — Steve, you are HIM.

Thank you, Steve. You made a stressful day smooth and easy. Much respect.

Out here leveling up in real life, one freezer at a time.

PS. Not a real pic of Steve... :D

I purchased an Allen + Roth wood closet kit from Lowe's and had it delivered to my home. The instruction booklet tells you to inventory the contents before assembly, at which time I found it was missing a couple of component parts. I went back to Lowe's to have them make it good, since these component parts are no doubt on the shelves. The clerk called a manager/supervisor, who said it wasn't Lowe's problem, it was mine, and that I needed to contact the manufacturer. I told him that was bullshit, and he told me "It's not bullshit, it's our policy". He was dismissive, unconcerned and perfunctory, and he turned on his heel and left. The clerk nicely gave me the number for Allen + Roth customer care--guess what, it's the same number as Lowe's. Yes, Lowe's is the manufacturer of record for Allen + Roth. How's that for bullshit. I recall telling the manager that I could have bought this type of item through Home Depot or Wayfair or Amazon, he said go ahead. So, yes, I will go ahead and stop purchasing through Lowe's and will instruct my contractors and subcontractors to do the same. Just for context: if I bought a car and found the spare was missing, I would contact the dealership, not the manufacturer. I doubt they would blow it off like Lowe's.

I ordered a W/D combo set from Lowe’s because it included free delivery and install.

they just called me to tell me they couldn’t install the dryer vent because the vent comes out of the exterior wall (where the warm air vents to).
He said it needed to vent into a wall cavity, or out a roof….the dryer is in the basement…..

they also will not send me a photo of the reason why they can’t install it, so now I have to drive over there and figure it out myself even though I paid for this service.
(The gentleman on the phone kept telling me install is free. But it is only free if you buy their product and all of the hook up/install components that come with it (which was over $100 for everything.))

Basically I paid to have a W/D installed and they didn’t install the dryer and called to tell me I need to do it myself but don’t get any refund.

Maybe I should have bought from Costco after all.

I have been a Lowe's customer for a long time and have been extremely disappointed with the customer service, lack of communication, and unwillingness to make things right. We were supposed to get an exterior back door and started the process in August and were informed we needed a custom sized door. After canceled appointments due to mismeasurement (off by an inch?!), a new door ordered, and then another fishy tale of trim materials not being ready by the second installation date despite products being in stock, this has been a nightmarish process. My door is finally installed (of course, you have to pay full cost upfront before the installation even happens), I will never recommend Lowe's for an installation project. Premier Services Group, whom they contracted out to, was also terrible to work with. We took three days total off work to get this door installed due to company errors, have a heating bill with a big increase (200+ the last 2 months), and it was a massive inconvenience with little to no follow up unless I continued to call and pester. I did their survey, no follow up, called and discussed compensation and was told management would reach out in 3 business days--I received no contact, after a week, I called again and their offer of making things "right" was $100 dollar gift certificate after a previous employee told me we were entitled to compensation and that she would "be livid if this was her house" after the second appointment cancelation. What a slap in the face. I understand accidents happen, and mistakes are made, but as a company, I believe you're expected to make it right. Your customers should not be losing money because of your poorly ran business and failure to correct your own mistakes. We spend thousands at Lowe's each year for home renovation projects, tools, DIY projects, etc., and they've just lost a customer.

employees are very friendly. I personally worked with Joey and he was a wonderful help. Very positive and amazing customer service. I also went through self check out with Jose and he helped me through every step. Everything was wonderful at this establishment. If you’re still going to Home Depot, change your mind go to Lowe’s and ask for Joey. He’s awesome.

I bought an AO Smith heat pump hot water heater in July of 2023. By July of 2024 the heat pump wasn’t working. At the time my mother was close to passing and I had many other comments that kept me from addressing the issue.
In October I contacted AO Smith. They helped troubleshoot and confirmed the heat pump wasn’t working. They would not pay for a plumber to replace it, but they did give me an RA.
Soon after the RA, I got COVID. I checked the reviews of the AO Smith unit and found hundreds of bum reviews. I wasn’t going to replace it with a new crappy unit, so I ordered a quality replacement.
Today, I returned the dud AO Smith unit and wanted to have the 2125 dollars returned to my debit card. The store WOULD NOT DO IT! Not only would they not return my funds, I am the only person who can use the funds. I asked them what happens if I die, as I’m not a young man. There answer, don’t die!
If I could give a zero rating for Lows and AO Smith, I would. And what really frosts my ass is that I will still have to use the damned store credit up at this NASTY ASS STORE.
12/30/24 Update
After stewing for a few days, I decided I just couldn't abide with Lowes holding onto 2K of my cash. I downloaded Bellingham's small claims forms and filled them out. I then asked ChatGPT hat my chances were of prevailing. It informed me that I should checkout Lowes return terms. I took some time and checked it out. After reading their terms and knowing that one of their store managers has said I would get my money back, I felt my actions have merit. I also noticed there was a chat app in the terms web browser and gave it a try. I chatted with someone who gave a crap about my situation and has helped me out. I don't yet know if I will avert court, but I will let you know.
1/1/2025 unreasonable asses!
They take no responsibility at all and say they shouldn’t have given me the in store credit. I’m selling my stock in Lowe’s tomorrow.

The store is fine, they all look exactly the same country wide. The staff here is mostly friendly and helpful with an average amount of “can’t be bothered” folks in the mix from what I’ve seen in this town. But my shopping experience is frequently ruined by not being able to get WiFi or cell service in the building making it difficult to open my Lowe’s app to sync my account at checkout and their POS system will look up my email and see I have an account with a phone number but never uploads my purchases onto my account in the app. It in fact asks me again during checkout if I have an account after I have already logged in. Making returns, if I have any, a pain if I don’t always have a receipt. They do not offer store credit for returns. Being unable to open my Lowe’s app also makes it difficult to locate products if I haven’t bought them before in the store. How is any store that offers WiFi unable to fix and address bad WiFi in 2024?! Every staff member I complain too always responds and says they know it’s a pain and some people have to walk outside to get service and come back in to scan their QR code for their account. Who the f*** can’t get WiFi working well in 2024?! I’ll start looking other places for my hardware needs.

If I need help I can get it- store is quite intuitive and usually best prices. However, all of these stores fail to recognize that work gloves are also utilized by people with smaller than average man hands- men and women. Provide smaller sizes please in all work gloves.

My family started the process of having an exterior door installed by Lowes on Jun 17. As of Nov 20, the install is still not complete, and Lowes is unable to issue a refund. The entire process has been a disaster, with both Lowes and the third party installer refusing to take responsibility for the failure of the install. Please look up reviews for PSG installers before making any agreements with Lowes. They have nothing but bad reviews. I'm not out several thousand dollars, and was left with a giant hole in my wall. They strung me along for so long that I am unable to do a credit card charge back with my bank - and I wonder if their delays in installs are intentional. I've wasted hours of my time calling Lowes and PSG, just to be strung along.

The third party installers hired by Lowes marked our install as complete on Aug 28, even though the install has NOT been completed. I've been calling Lowes and PSG installers every single week for 3 months trying to get this resolved. PSG states they can neither "confirm or deny" that the install occurred. Lowes states that they can't refund until PSG confirms if they did the work. I have provided photos to 2 different people at Lowes showing how the project was left. They keep promising to discuss it with management and call me back, but that never happens. The door apparently has a "one year warranty" - but it's been 5 months of even trying to get it installed properly.

Tried to return item. Still in sealed box still a product being sold. Had receipt and same card purchased with. Was told unable to return not in the time line of return. But if I would have used their credit card they would have returned it. Way to go Lowes again a new way make money off consumer.

Lowe's is our Go To Place in Bellingham since we moved into a new/old Vintage House! Moreover, I have gotten to know many of the employees, especially, Dan, who can answer complicated questions about Electrical, Plumbing, or anything else the store sells.

48 hr appliance return policy is a joke. Not mentioned by salesperson at purchase, written policy hidden behind web address (should just be printed in full on the back of receipt!) and after 6 days we wanted to return/exchange for something else, we were denied and stuck with something we don't want. I will never shop Lowes again. Enjoy that $2500, its the last you'll ever get from me.

Don't you dare post some apology reply, it's meaningless, you had your chance to provide customer service.

Edit 01: And they did. And I called the number they left. Told me to call the manufacturer to get an RA# to bring back to the store. Total Lie, Manufacturer had no idea what I was talking about. How can I dislike this company/location any more? Await Edit 02...

Edit 02: Pointless. I have to say both reps I talked with were very nice, but couldn't do anything due to Policy. Which is garbage. Lowes is dead to me forever.

Why not reach out to me too? Looks like you guys followed up with other folks about a week ago. Definitely a discrimination issue going on at this lowes. I will reach out to discuss. Thank you.

And in another update 2 months down the road I’m using lowes for an item I can’t get else where and I have to say Steve has stepped up the customer service game at Lowe’s in the order fulfillment side of the store. Good job Lowe’s. As Steve said the LTR is on the rise with his customer service skills.

These guys are ATROCIOUS!

Placed an order for a kitchen countertop through their app and paid the $1,700 deposit. The countertop vendor won't tear down my existing countertop so I drive to the store to cancel the order.

The Lowe's Customer Service rep cannot pull up my order; I give them my card number, phone number, email address; nothing, nothing, nothing.

The manager is too busy to come an help. They give me a 1-800 number to call and try my luck with that. I call and get put on hold for 15 minutes.

Unbelievable!

They didn't have what I asked for, but they suggested an alternate and a place where I could go to buy the original. This is the way service should be.

Great place for home improvement. Dont move anything on the shelves, please. i know where everything is because over the last 20 years, i have repaced or repaired my whole house!
Today, I visited Lowes to score on a couple of toolboxes for our garage. I saved 20% compared to other stores in the neighborhood. I love my Lowes.

Pricing questions
1. What is the average roof replacement cost for a residential home?
+-

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.

2. How much does it usually cost to replace the roof of a commercial building?
+-

The cost to replace the roof of a commercial building typically ranges from $5 to $12 per square foot, depending on several factors such as roof size, material, labor rates, building type, and local code requirements.

3. What factors affect the overall roof repair cost?
+-

Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.

4. What is the typical roof leak repair cost, and how is it calculated?
+-

Roof leak repair cost generally ranges from $300 to $800, depending on the size and location of the leak, the materials required, and labor intensity. Complex leaks involving structural repairs or interior damage will cost more.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
