Great selection of building products, wood , electrical, plumbing, appliances, cabinetry, and not to mention a garden center with lawn care products. This is a very convenient location due to there being no other home improvement store in the area. Staff here is friendly and prompt a plus for this location! Definitely would recommend for contractors to people that DIY!

Just got a great deal on a John Deere zero-turn lawn mower. And at 0% financing. Plus $100 off on my first Lowe’s CC transaction. And even though it wasn’t in stock, was able to ship it (for free!) from Harrisonburg. Really appreciate how Josh and the team made it all happen in spite of obstacles. Much appreciated!

Excellent customer service! We want to thank Liz and Joelle! There was a table that wasn't in stock anywhere. Liz tried so hard to find it at other Lowe's stores. Thankfully Joelle was able to sell the display after she spent time getting approval! We appreciate all their effort! This experience is the reason we drive a little further and shop at the Ruckersville location

The Lowe’s in Ruckersville Virginia has excellent customer service. Today Mark Lindsy went way above good service as he helped me problem solve an issue in a timely, professional, and courteous manner. Maybe managers of other businesses should send there people there for interpersonal skills Training, Thanks, Mark.

Lisa in the Garden Center is amazing! She came from outside to help us in Home Decor when we had blinds that desperately needed cutting! She saved the day and was an absolute delight!

Really the only place in town. Why lock things up when nobody is around to help? Waited 15 minutes for someone in key lock area. 5 employees standing around talking. Maybe I should have interrupted. Can't wait for Home Depot in Charlottesville. I will get in and out quicker even with travel time down and back.

I'm done with this place. If it takes more than several hours to fulfill an online order placed early in the morning, then what's the point of shopping online? No estimate given to when the order will be ready other than "today" and when I have work scheduled to do thats very frustrating. . I could have done all my shopping including getting paints mixed in twenty minutes if I had just come in to the store early.

Shawna in the Ruckersville store was particularly helpful in getting Levelor Trim and Go cellular shades cut to the proper width. Very good service. She had to climb up on top of the displays to get the right shade from inventory.

There was a disappointing experience I had a few weeks ago when I attempted to buy appliances. We usually go up here, because the Lowes in Albemarle is really bad with customer service and stock, but when we tried to buy a dishwasher, the price tag went from $499 to over $750 for the installation and hoses. On top of that, the Veterans' discount does not apply to appliances (apparently) and the first person we talked to when we asked for a middle of the line dishwasher brought us to the most expensive one on display.

So we go online to Costco, and they give us an equivalent dishwasher for $599. The price included installation and hoses. Sorry, but if Lowes will nickel and dime its customers like this for large items, we will go elsewhere except for convenience items.

This is the 2nd time we have been to Lowe’s in Ruckersville in the last week. Each time we had 2 flat bed carts with multiple heavy bags. Each time there were associates (male) who stood by and watched as we loaded. NEVER did anyone offer assistance! During one of these visits , we saw an elderly woman reaching up under the shelving where concrete pavers are stored. We offered to help - she stated that assistance had been called for and no one had showed so she began loading herself. We have been patronizing this store since it opened. Customer service has hit rock bottom! We will go elsewhere. Very disappointing!

Haven't been to this particular Lowe's in years but happened to be in the area and stopped in. Beautiful garden center and truly helpful staff! Better than my local lowes in Fluvanna, hands down.

I have used many different Lowes and Home Depots. This is by far my favorite store. The sales associates are great, and they have many professionals that actually know what they are saying. I have bought everything here from weed eater string to drywall and all my appliances both in store and from the app and picked up at the store. The managers and all the customer service personnel are extremely helpful. Will continue to go here.

We've just moved to Palmyra, and unfortunately, this is the closest Lowe's. I've been here 6-7 times, and have not been impressed with the customer service at all. We stopped by several weeks ago and asked if someone could answer a question about blinds, and we were told that there was not a single person in the store who could answer questions about blinds. There is apparently only one person who works there that knows anything about them, and they weren't working that day. Today, I called and told them that the pressure washer that I bought broke less than a minute after I started using it, and I asked if there was anyone there that could help me troubleshoot over the phone. I was told that I would need to call back on Monday (it's Saturday) because once again, no one in the store knows anything about pressure washers.

I then decided to just go ahead and drive to the store and return it rather than wait until Monday. When I got there I asked to speak with a manager. I was told that there was only one manager, and he was busy, and they didn’t know when he wouldn’t be busy. Then, the two employees at customer service just started having a conversation with each other as though everything was fine.

I then asked them to have the manager call me, and I gave them my phone number. Unsurprisingly, the manager did not call me when he was done with whatever pressing situation he was dealing with. So, the moral of the story is that they will offer to do the bare minimum. They will tell you where an item is in the store, they will accept a return for an item, but that’s about it. Most of their employees have little knowledge of their products, and they will not even go try to find a manager to see if he can help a customer who is upset.

Very friendly and professional, Stock is plentiful too. Wood quality is probably average to sub-average (lots of knots and sometimes twisted) but everything else seems really good

Ordered a PET PRO washer and dryer to be delivered and installed today. Ahmed the delivery driver showed up and refused to install because my house “smelled like dog.” I am a dog trainer (hence the purchase of PET PRO appliances) and all dogs were contained. Ahmed NEVER saw a dog. They should ask customers at the time of order if they have pets if their delivery drivers are too sensitive to deliver to homes with pets. I had to find someone privately to pick them up and install. This will be my last appliance purchase from Lowe’s.

Stopped to pick up plywood for a roofing project. Plenty of product available.

Went for Christmas/Thanksgiving Cactus was difficult to find all on rack stacked up in center of walking path in plastic. Poor selections of Christmas/Thanksgiving Cactus and small. Bought 2 and lack of pot selections. Replanted overwatered Christmas/Thanksgiving Cactus which then had most blooms fall off before opening. Gave Christmas/Thanksgiving Cactus bigger pot and more Cactus potting mix. Overall wasn’t pleased with shopping at this Lowe’s location. Too far from checkout to doors for disabled customers.

Among the better Lowe's I regularly visit. Proactive staff; I was engaged by 4 associates offering assistance during my last visit, but wasn't overbearing and quickly left me to my shopping when I requested.
Clean, with plenty of health and safety measures in place. Observed policy adherence from employees: masks worn (properly, no less), forklift escorts, dividers at POS, etc.

Even reviewing my review, I just say my opinion remains quite high of this location. Good job, all.

Horrible in every way you can imagine.

For my recent flooring installation, I first asked if it was okay if we could do all the planning through email--which they said was okay, and which I confirmed was required if I was going to proceed. It then took dozens of pleas to get them to coordinate on email, after getting a new voicemail every day that I couldn't easily respond to with a phone call.

I went back and forth with the Lowe's rep over a dozen times on details. I'd clarify certain details, and the next quote would have earlier ones removed. It's no wonder I got the wrong grout color, my trimwork is janked up, and the installer hadn't touched any of the caulking I had requested to be installed behind the trim.

They then sent me an email and text with an installation date. I took off for that date, only to find that it was only for the small area of carpet and not the whole thing (I guess I was supposed to know how their internal systems work in this regard). They told me they couldn't proceed until I picked up another bag of grout. That was a huge hassle due to my schedule and inability to lift heavy items. In the end, I returned about 300 lb of grout that went unused, presumably because they got enough for the entire level and not just where the tilework was being completed. Getting all of this sorted out probably took me an entire 10 hours of my life, due to poor communication at Lowe's.

But those are minor issues compared to the rest.

The real heart of the issue is how your project details get relayed multiple times. I tell the sales rep what I want, she enters it as notes in their rigid system. That information is then relayed to the Lowe's installation manager. They then relay it to the boss at the flooring company doing the installation. That person then relays it to your installer. By the time it reaches the installer, any details you agreed upon initially are likely botched or missing. My installer didn't know he'd be moving furniture, didn't know what the caulking was for (I had asked for it to be installed behind the trim), didn't know why there were hundreds of spare pounds of grout, and had no idea he was supposed to install both quarter round and trim until I told him.

He did an okay job, except then I had to ask for him to return to clean up. The downstairs was a dusty and complete mess. Why did I have to request the job be cleaned up afterwards?

The installer worked alone, so it took him 3 days to install it. You wouldn't think that would really be an issue, but it was because that meant I had to take off 3 days of work if I didn't want to leave a stranger alone in my house (I had no reason to doubt his honesty though, to be clear).

Paint on my new driveway topped it off.

I now am trying to get missing transition pieces installed, and to get somebody to fix the quarter round work. I have been to the store 4 times since being told I needed to come back in and once again pick out these pieces. Nobody has been able to help me any of those times. Once, the only employee able to help wasn't there. Another time, the lady at the desk told me they were doing Inventory for a week and nobody could help me until they were done. I then returned after that week and was told that the flooring person was on break. I had them then email me their hours and I scheduled a time to come in (again, my 4th visit). I arrived 5 minutes early and he had decided to go on an hour+ break right as I did. No email, no message whatsoever saying he wouldn't be able to meet me--just took a break and didn't come back after I and the store managers messaged him to say I was there.

These are not professionals. These are jokey people who are extremely rude and have no issues wasting your time. They don't even know how to write down or tell their colleagues that you had been looking for them.

The flooring company doing the installs doesn't help the matter either, but that's for another review.

Store is usually well stocked and cleaner than the Charlottesville lowes by far, especially the restrooms. Need more help to help people load heavy items into their vehicles.
Overall this was a pretty good lowes but now all registers up front are self check out. Shopping more now at Cardinal Supply and better living because they still have people checking you out instead of a machine and 3 employees being paid to stand and watch you check yourself out. Lowes is 5 miles from my house where as better living is 18 and Cardinal is 15 but that's where I will go.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
