Customer service needs to be a lot better. The lack of communication and skills is astounding. I took a mower in to be serviced under warranty plan A month and a half ago and just got it back today after the same mayhem and 45 mins to get it. The first day I took it in the older lady had no idea how to do it. Called another person they had to figure out and went somewhere in the store and never came back. So I went to the lumber service department and they knew nothing of it and finally called the manager. He came and I told him what I was there for and he wrote it down and scan the receipt I had and the issue I came in for and unloaded it. He acted weird the whole time like he wasn’t quite sure he was doing it right and had a held back attitude the whole time. I knew it was far from over. I went back up to customer service to see if I needed to sign anything else before leaving and the older lady was there again and didn’t know what I was talking about. The manger I dealt with in the back came with another lady over the customer/return department and said that I was good and didn’t need to do anything else. I said are you sure? And they said yes. Well two weeks went by and a guy calls me from that store and left a message saying he wanted me to call back about my mower that was there and needed info on it and made sure it was right before sending off to get it fixed. I called back within two mins. That same older lady answered! I said this guy called me wanting me to call back about the mower before sending out. Guess what? They couldn’t find the guy and I was on hold for 20 mins and they hung up on me. There was that. My mower was still there two weeks later and hadn’t been sent out yet. It was one excuse after another and trying not to make this long after me showing up there that very evening they hung up on me I found out that the manager that took care of me that day forgot to put it in the system to be picked up! See? That’s why I always ask are you sure no matter who it is. Well anyway, he messed up and I had to get upset because they kept disappearing and never coming back so I just told them I want this mower sent out now please as I acreage to cut and don’t have anything or even a loaner for the inconvenience! They said it will be taken over there tomorrow he said! Well guess what? A week later….. he calls me back and says the system was having go trouble and they couldn’t get it that week and they are taking it to John Deere on highway 89 the following week. I’m like whatever at this point. On top of it all I find out that John Deere place was three weeks out and that would’ve have been avoided if they’d had gotten my mower in the following week like they told me! Either way. I have all their names and unprofessional attitude they displayed on front of me because I had a right to get upset when someone can’t do they’re job and my personal property floating around somewhere not knowing what’s going on. Never dealing with this lowes anymore. It’s Elkin for me from now on since they are better all around.

Phone rang for 14 minutes, transferred over 10 times (yes, I counted, rang over 125 times after I started counting). Hung up, called again rang for over 4 minutes, transferred several times.
Called concerning delivery. Lumber was stacked like a shuffled deck of cards. 12’, 8’, and pre-cut studs, 2x4, 2x6lumber randomly stacked in two pallets, different lengths in both pallets. Totally random stacking. Took over an hour to count 260 boards. Driver even complained about difficulty of handling loads stacked this poorly. There were only 16 12’ boards; why couldn’t they be in one pallet instead of sticking out on every corner, in different rows, columns, and pallets like a pin cushion! Photo taken after most of 12 footers pulled out. 8’, pre-cuts, 2x4, and 2x6’s still a scrambled mess!!!

The Mt. Airy, NC Lowe's was disappointing. Asked for assistance in garden center around yard carts. The lady made me feel like I was a bother to her. She never smiled. She looked like she wasn't happy or maybe didn't want to be there. Later in our visit I asked the cashier to call a manager/supervisor to help me with something in flowers outside the gate. To my surprise this same grumpy woman came up. I asked "are you the manager I'm waiting for"? She replied "yes". She was her same unpleasant self. After that interaction, we left. I chose not to spend my money there. I regretted making a trip to that Lowe's.

This review is regarding an employee named Alexander on Mon, June 23rd, 2025 around 7pm.
Alexander was extremely helpful in the plumbing section, even looking to see if there were parts not on the shelf. He even checked other local Lowe's stores to see if they had them in stock as well.

Will not deliver orders. If you order curbside anything over 5 lb they won’t prepare that either . Delayed my order multiple days had guys around twiddling there thumbs being payed because waiting on material to accomplish job . After delay after delay after delay they transferred order to Winston Salem store and they were actually able to complete the delivery ! Thank goodness 5 stars for Winston location for bringing me my delivery ! Would give 0 stars this location .

My mom needed a replacement toilet. I helped her pick it out and checked stock status at Mt Airy Lowes and it was in stock. She went by and placed the order and they said they would deliver the next day, Saturday April 5 and that someone would reach out to her later that day (Friday) and let her know about when it would be delivered---also the delivery driver would contact her when on the way. Only heard from the driver on Saturday that he was on the way. The young man shows up in a small car (3rd party company-door dash??) and he had trouble getting the toilet out of his car. Mom (85yo) had to help him. The guy asked her for a tip. She had paid a delivery fee to Lowes and expected Lowes to deliver. Mom called and spoke with the mgr and he replied that he would see what he could do about reversing the delivery charge. He never called back. She called corporate and they said there was nothing they could do. Poor service and treatment of this widow that really needed the help. 2 chances to make this right and management and corporate failed. Cannot wait for the canned response.

Update: Lowes has now refunded the delivery charge and this is appreciated. We all come up short sometimes. It is good to realize, after the dust settles, that there's never a wrong time to do the right thing. Thanks!

My first (and last) visit here was a terrible experience!! I'd wanted to purchase two items in the garden center. First, I could not find anyone to help me. When I did find someone to locate a product, she sent me to the wrong part of the store.

Finally, after navigating the store, I found what I wanted and went to the checkout in the garden center. This was the beginning of a 30 minute issue that just continued for hours once I got home (and still is not resolved).

My purchase was only $35. I used my Lowe's card. It would not go through. Numerous attempts and it would just hang in their credit card machine with a message saying "processing". The line of customers was starting to build. The cashier then had me call Lowes and get an authorization code, which was a hassle. I get the code, she puts it in and it still wasn't working!

They tried to find a manager and said "they are all in meetings". I then said, "I think this is important enough for one of them to leave the meeting". It seemed to be a store overall issue they were having. The cashier said, "it's really hard to find someone, and some people are loading trucks right now too".

Finally, a manager named Jessica came out. It was so frustrating, embarrassing, and time-consuming! I finally left the items that I genuinely wanted on the cash register and exited the store without them. She told me, "you will need to call credit card services to find out what is happening with your card".

Well, I've never had a problem with my credit card, in my entire life! I then had to go home and be on the phone forever with their credit card services trying to figure what's going on. Only to find out from "Ben" at their dispute department that, "oh your card was already charged for those items the sale went through". Huh??!!!

Needless to say, I was so upset about this, since I live one hour away from this store location. And, the items I wanted were not items that would be available in the future.

I then had to call the store and get them to take the charge off my credit card since I never got my items! I spoke with Jessica who was kind and said she would look into it and call me the next morning, but she never did! The charge is still on my card.

Extremely upset about this! What a hassle and a horrible experience. I have always loved shopping at my local Lowes, but this location was truly a nightmare!

This place is the worst and I guarantee only stays open for lack of options in the area. Isles have so much junk down the middle you can't get through the store. Only option for checkout is self checkout and that is nowhere near lumber so you have to maneuver through all their crap just to check out. No help at self checkout either. I didn't sign up to work there I just want to pay and go not try to find every bar code or product code for all the crap. The carts are crap everytime I go they thud all through the store. I go to home depot in Winston most of the time me but when you need 1 or 2 things you end up sucking it up and just go to save gas.

I went in for insulation. None of what I needed. So I looked for a mailbox. Only metal one had rubber attachments and rubber screws.It wouldn't stay together. Upon finding a lady I could ask about the insulation she pointed way across, upon what I found was nowhere enough. So that evening was a waste of time.
Oh yes some people would say "Call First. " I would say " Have you ever called Lowe's and gotten an answer?" Me? NEVER!

Bought a fridge from here, and had it delivered & installed by Rangel & Jorge (if I spelt their names right). They were amazing, friendly, communicated well and so much more. Very friendly overall, I’d recommend them! Our dog even loved them! Picture for proof, however, I drew his face out for privacy. Picture was originally taken to send to my partner to show him the fridge.

Ordered new cabinets and appliances from this store in Mt. Airy North Carolina back in April. Still have not received all the hardware or base moulding for the kitchen cabinets that we ordered 8 MONTHS AGO. We just gave up and bought some other hardware and base moulding because of the ridiculousness long wait. A real disappointment and added expense.

The store was festive with Christmas decorations everywhere. I needed help locating the item I wanted and a salesperson told me exactly where it was. The store was brimming with merchandise for the Christmas shoppers. I took a leisurely stroll through the decorations section and enjoyed the Christmas spirit. There are clean restrooms, too. While they have self checkouts, a young lady asked if I wanted her to check me out. I took her up on it. It was a pleasant shopping stop for me.

Recently ordered lumber online ONLY because I just moved to the area and dont have a trailer for my truck yet. I ordered about 2500 in lumber and they failed to deliver two 4x6 beams (the bottom supports for a cabin) of which I needed first to even start my project. After 3 delays one after the other spanning a week in time I called and FINALLY got ahold of someone who was of no help at all. Their only solution was to refund the beams but not the delivery charge as I got "part" of my order so I would have to pay delivery from another store. I didnt need delivery in the first place if it wasnt for those beams. Meanwhile online ordering auto fulfills from this particular store. After having to delay concrete for my posts and sending employees home, I am in the red for this project before it even got off the ground. I called and got hung up on twice after being on hold each time. The delays are not marked as out of stock and give no reason for the delay or option to cancel and they don't even collaborate with closer stores. I'll be renting a trailer and going to get the rest of my materials: windows, doors, wiring, insulation from home depot along with the other 4 projected cabins I have to build.

I’ve had consistently great experiences at Lowe’s! The store is clean, well-organized, and fully stocked with everything from tools and lumber to plants and home décor. Every time I visit, I’m greeted by friendly, knowledgeable staff who are always willing to help.

Whether I’m tackling a DIY project or just picking up a few household essentials, I know I can count on Lowe’s to have what I need. I especially appreciate the helpful signage and self-checkout options—it makes the whole process quick and easy.

Their customer service stands out. On one visit, an associate went out of their way to help me cut a piece of wood to size and explained how to install it step-by-step. That kind of service is rare these days.

Overall, Lowe’s has become my go-to hardware store. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality products and outstanding support.

Lowes has a wide selection of items. The staff is very helpful. I noticed as waiting to check out your individual checkout has cameras facing each other. I also noticed that the camera across from the one we were using was picking up the credit card information being put in our system because no one was using the register across from us. But cameras can zoom in if they were filming this as it looked like it was doing.
