I had the pleasure of being helped by April at Home Depot on three separate visits today, and I cannot overstate how exceptional her service was. April was not only incredibly professional and knowledgeable, but also remarkably kind and patient as she guided me through multiple pickups, product selections, and even the challenge of fitting everything into my (very compact) SUV. She offered thoughtful product suggestions I wouldn’t have considered on my own and went above and beyond to make a stressful day feel manageable. Her attentiveness and genuine willingness to help provided the kind of emotional support that truly made a difference. Home Depot is lucky to have her—April is a standout example of excellent customer service.

I called on 6/19 about renting a boom lift on 6/20. The employee on the phone let me know that I could rent it until 10am on 6/21. I let him know we would be there between 10am - 11am on 6/20. When we arrived on 6/20 at 11am, we let the employee behind the counter know that we had called and gave our information over the phone to rent the 30’ boom lift. The employee behind the counter started off rude with us. He first stated that we needed to have the lift back by 10am the next day. Then changed it to 9:30 and then again to 9am. I was ok with having it back by 9am because we would be able to do the work we needed to before it got dark out. The employee came out, helped attach the lift to our vehicle, had me come in to make the payment and handed me the controls. When we arrived home at 12:30pm (which is 45 minutes away) we looked over what he had given me and there was no key. I called and the employee on the phone let me know that they see the key was still at the store. We had to drive back 45 minutes to get the key. When I went to the door the employee cracked the door open just enough to hand me the key and then closed the door right away. We did not get back home until around 3pm. We lost 2+ hours looking for the keys, calling the store and having to drive back to the store for keys. Then when I arrived to return the equipment all the employee said was thank you for returning the equipment. If we could have had the equipment for the 24 hour period I paid for we could have gotten all of the work done that we needed to but instead we did not get to start work until 3pm and there was no time to do work in the morning before we had to have it back to the store for the next customer. Initially when we picked it up at 11am we would have had more day light to work with.

If they had a zero I would but it. The worst customer service ever. Employees fighting with customers. Customer brought item up that had to be undone by staff it was a bundle deal for 239.00 on clearance. They rang it all in individually and wouldn’t give him the clearance price or go back and look at sticker on shelf. They then kicked customer out of the store for what reason I don’t know Losing out on over 700 dollars. Plus he is an independent contractors that shop there a lot. They lost my and probably other people’s business. Never will I shop there again with the ignorance of some employees. Steve was the worst, he a manager. The worst ever customers are right and he fought with his customers. I was an observing customer watching this. Makes me not want to come back either. A lot of your employees need more training in customer service.

I recently ordered a toaster ovens from the Home Depot in Lake Geneva WI!! It was delivered to my house while I was working!! I work afternoon shift!!! When I opened my oven the top right hand corner was dented-- the box had a crushed corner!! I called the Home Depot and Trista answered my call!! I loaded up the oven and took it back to the store!! Trista refunded my price and we sat down to order a new one!! However they had no more in stock and had discontinued this model!!! With Trista help I was able to order one very similar to what I wanted!!! I know this does not sound like a big deal-- but I couldn't have asked for a more caring and amazing Young Lady!!! Unfortunately, in today's world you don't find a lot of people who really give a damn!!! Let me tell you that this world needs a lot more caring people like Trista!!! I cannot Thank her enough!!! She is definitely a Diamond in the rough!!! You are a Sweetheart Trista!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I bought a toilet here and did curbside pick up. When I got it home it was completely smashed. There is no way they didn’t know when they put it in my car. Then I call and they tell me to bring it back. My husband brings it back and they don’t know how to exchange it and put it back on the card and a new one on it. No one had any clue of how to handle it. Seriously the worst experience at a store I’ve ever had. Tell me how you put this in someone’s car and not realize it’s broken.

We recently had an issue with blinds we purchased from Home Depot Lake Geneva. Ray, in blinds, helped us resolve the issue and gave us a follow up call to give an update. Ray gave us excellent customer service and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for window trimmings. Thank you Ray.

These new security measures made shopping for electrical supplies completely impractical.
If I have to spend 15 minutes waiting for someone to open a cage so I can grab $80 worth of NM cable, and then be treated like a thief, because you can’t just continue shopping ones you place wire in your cart they assume you will run away with it, so they walk with you to the register.
What a bunch of nonsense!!!

Patrick, Logan, and all employees are very knowledgeable and willing to help! As someone who isn’t very handy and really doesn’t know what their looking for, I am completely comfortable walking up to any employee and asking for help :)

A manager went the extra mile to help me with a very small project by taking me to the employee best able to help. Then, that employee and later another both went the extra mile to provide exactly what I needed, and they even refused a thank-you tip for going above and beyond. Exceptional small town service from a top national retailer. Extraordinary!

Ray Lamick (aka Ray Ray), design consultant at the Lake Geneva Home Depot, provides truly exceptional customer service and design advice!

I have had the good fortune of working with Ray on a number of different home projects from custom window coverings to our basement and bathroom remodels. For our most recent basement/bathroom remodel, Ray patiently and attentively listened as I shared my design vision. I would show up with my vision boards and “to do” lists and he was always there to help me, answer questions and provide his professional opinion (which I encouraged) on everything from bathroom tile, grout, LVP vs. laminate, etc. Ray is extremely knowledgeable about home design products

Working with Ray was like working with a dear friend rather than a sales associate. There are so many things to love about Ray. He is knowledgeable, kind-hearted, professional, caring, genuine, and honest. Throughout this entire project, I felt that Ray looked out for me and always had my best interests in mind. I am extremely lucky to have had such a great experience working with Ray and highly recommend folks working with him on their home design projects! Thank you Ray Ray!!!

Terrible service in the Painting area, my children and I needed help with a painting, and because he heard us speaking Spanish and my children were waiting for me to serve them and when it was their turn and the man who was behind them told him that They followed them and I said no, I was going to take care of them, my children speak English and Spanish and they understood and my daughter cried so much and it made me very angry that they were like that with us, I wanted to complain but my children wouldn't let me, he is the person in charge. from the painting area and he is an older man, it is not worth it for them to be like that just because they speak Spanish.
I'm only complaining about the painting area, in general the store is very nice and even the man who cut the wood for us treated us very well.

The employees in this store are lazy and refuse to help load materials purchased. Ordered $3,000 worth of flooring and the employee tasked with helping to load the material, Ed, said it was a liability to help load the material into my truck and refused to help. He was vivibly high and stood off to the side and watched while it was loaded.

One week prior, i had ordered 2 awnings, weighing 80 pounds a piece, picked them up and was told someone would be out to help load them into my truck. I waited for 15 min and finally some random person in the parking lot helped load them because nobody came out to help.

2 days after that experience, i bought 2 toilets. Again, was told someone would be out to help load them. I waited 10 min, nobody came so i loaded them by myself. Afterwards i noticed another man waiting to have a toilet loaded into his truck as well and i helped him load it because nobody came to help him either.

I will never order from this store again. Customer service is pathetic and the employees are lazy people with soft hands. Talked to the manager and she was more upset that i was angry at the situation, than the fact that her workers dont know how to do their jobs. Its easy to see how the employees are so bad at their jobs when the manager doesnt know how to manage them.

On a side note, i ordered $2,500 worth of kitchen cabinets from this store as well in the middle of may, specifically told them not to bring me a lazy susan that had the side of it broken...the delivered it anyway. I returned i to the janesville homedepot and the lady at the service counter took me back to get a new one and without asking, told me she would come with me to help put it in my truck. It amazes me how 2 locations can be so different. Lake geneva is the worst.

Ordered a dryer on line. First off, the app doesn't update order status. Had to call to check delivery status. They "compensated" me by hastening my delivery. On the day of delivery, it wasn't delivered. Called again to find out that the item was on backorder all along. Worst box store order and delivery service of any large box store. Worst app service of any competitor of home depot as well. This will likely be the last purchase I make here that isn't in store.

I was blown away by the amazing assistance I received last week when I went to purchase a garbage disposal. The team members (Hannah and Sig I believe were their names) looked at some videos I had and not only explained the differences in the options available but helped guide me through what installation process would entail. I am very grateful for the information and time they shared with me during my visit.

Well the lake Geneva home Depot has better service than others I've been to, at least my personal experiences. Two people who helped me made my night, first was the lady who rescued my wandering body from searching isle after isle, Lisa. She noticed me looking up and down the Milwaukee tool area looking for an item that says in stock. She helped by calling another team member over. Tony, on the night shift. My hero, he helped me search for the Milwaukee item I needed and we ended up finding it on a "no home" shelf way up high.. got a very tall ladder and helped us get it down. Even after we didn't find the item on the first two areas. Thanks for not giving up!

I came in knowing exactly what I needed and was able to go straight to it with no issues finding the correct item. I bought a new door handle for an interior door.

Update still everything is easy to find. The parking near the garden section is taken up by overflow garden items.

This store is very helpful for products and even returns, however look for reviews on their installers the last one was shocking so I had to hire my own plumber instead of using the one the attempted to schedule.
