Possibly the worst HD in the Northeast. Under-staffed and with an exception or two, no one will help you. Right now, I’m literally standing at the lumber saw for the past 34 minutes waiting for somebody to cut 2 pieces of plywood for me. I can see five employees from here, all who say they are not “licensed“ to cut lumber, yet, they are selling lumber. Awful. I can’t wait until Rutland has a Lowe’s that’s closer.

We want to express our appreciation to the staff at the Ritland Home Depot, especially to associates Nancy Johnson and Tom in appliances for all of their help and kindness to us!

We went to buy paint at 3pm. There was no one in the paint department so we asked the woman at self checkout if someone was available. She said the person who was there had to go to customer service because there was a managers meeting. She said there was no one available to help. That they would be out of the meeting at 330. We could buy the paint but could not get the color added or shaken. We were like "what??". No apology no concern that a customer wanted to spend money but no one to mix it??? We live 8 minutes away so we dropped all the paint we wanted and checked out..bewildered by such inappropriate service. Another gentleman came 35 minutes to Rutland to buy paint and had to wait until the "managers" meeting was done. I worked in the service industry for 50 years..if we said there is no one to help you because there's a managers meeting the business wouldn't last. I know these are tough times to find help. Home Depot is our go to place for all our needs related to home updates, repairs, gardening items and within the past two weeks all the materials for redoing 2 bathrooms. We spend a bit of money there..consistently. My husband is a veteran and we appreciate our discount. In the past Home Depot Rutland has been very service friendly and helpful. Lately it has been challenging to find someone to help..plus it seems a bit disorganized and cluttered. I accept that help is hard to find..which is common in other places also, but, having a managers meeting at 3pm with no one to cover seems to be a poor decision for the management to make. We will go back because we are fans of Behr Paint, also love having a home depot in Rutland as we like the availability of items that are not easy to find in Rutland. But ... I try to make sense of no one being available to mix our paint. I feel for those who travel a distance and have time limitations...and come to your store to be told.."no help available"..and left hanging .. with no apology. I rather spend my money in Rutland..so...I'm just wanting the management to know of our experience. Perhaps it will encourage you to think about your customers. There are other options in Rutland ..but..I have found service to be lacking in many stores due to lack of help

Selection SUCKS. Got maybe two brands of everything. Can't find a cheap flush cut saw. Only ones they have are about $25 overpriced with gizmos nobody asked for. They stopped carrying Klein mini screwdrivers, which were the best minis you could get. The lumber is warped. Management DELIBERATELY understaffs. Just another corperate trash heap that gets worse and worse every month.

Me and my woman just bought a frigorator that was supposed to be white and it's stainless steel, which it looks beautiful just does Mach the rest of the kitchen. And eventually we will have stainless but the point is that, what I order is what I order just for it to take seven days just with out food cause are old frigorator broke and we had no money cause of so much bills to pay. The delivery people where 20 min late they where rude and didn't take are old frigorator cause there was no room in the truck was bulony now it sits outside and we have to deal with it which I didnt want to ughhhhh. If you are looking for any appliances go to kitchen appliances In rutland cause when I was talking with them and I ordered something by a tomorrow I would have gotten it by tomorrow with probably better service than what I got. I would say no stairs for home depo for getting the order wrong and not having it in stock and having us what for seven days if I was desperate I would expect at least two to three days at the most. The delivery people only two and a hafe stars. For all in all don't bother order home depo it's not worth it.

It is handicapped accessible. There is a clean bathroom at the back of the store, follow the overhead signs.
The outdoor and indoor plants were mostly okay. There were a lot of dead, dying and dried out plants.
The plants that were in good condition were overpriced.
The customer service was excellent. No problem with the order I picked up.
The service person brought it to me in a shopping cart and asked if there was anything else I needed.
I found it to be an average big box store.

It’s amazing to me that such an amazing, big Cross country-company cannot get it right at this location In Rutland, Vermont.
The customer Service here is terrible. There’s no other words for It, it’s like they hire anybody off the street put them in a vest and send them on their way to do a very poor quality job, no training required or offered obviously by the actions of every employee at this Location.
I’ve been going to this location for years and now I finally had it, I simply had to post this and hope that the company will do something about it or at least the never presentstore manager.
I suggest for you to go to any other location, any other location at all, and I will be doing the same.
Sincerely,
a VERY valued customer

Stopped by the paint Dept and there was no associate there for a few minutes. A very nice young lady at self checkout (across the aisle) saw that I was waiting and asked me if I would like her to get someone to help me. An associate came immediately. A young woman came and was able to duplicate some custom colors just from a picture of a VERY OLD label on a can. Ian made sure the new paint cans were a perfect match! Great customer service by all involved. Thank you!! Will be back.

Very disappointing experience with delivery of a dryer. Several gashes were made in my floor. The delivery team did not take much care. They asked me to contact the store for an insurance claim, the store asked me for photos and an estimate on several occasions and has since ignored me. When I call I get forwarded to a voicemail of someone who is never there the day I call but also never calls me back. No one has ever denied my claim, they just continue to give me the run around almost a year later. My advice, as much as possible, work with people you can trust, like the folks at the ACEs in Rutland and Brandon who actually have some control of their stores, unlike this bureaucratic machine.

Great people working at this Rutland Home Depot. I was impressed by their knowledge and patience even in the midst of being seriously under-staffed.

The Rutland store sells broken items and will not make good on them. Even after I contacted the Home Depot customer service. They just don’t care. Especially if you pay for delivery. I was told you must bring it back to the store. Wasted $35.00 for delivery plus gas to return the item…. Be very careful when buying from the RUTLAND, VT store. No issues with other Home Depot store’s.

The cashier Chris was so helpful and so nice! It’s so nice to see women working in male dominated fields! She was very helpful and knew exactly where to get The proper grit sandpaper that I needed to finish redoing the banister in my apartment! She looked it up and helped me research to make sure I was doing the right thing and making the right decision! 10/ 10 I don’t know who’s going to see this, but she was amazing!

We ordered a countertop from HD and the countertop that was installed was incorrect. We called the store and spoke to several people who were giving us the run around. We finally were connected to Carrie Thorpe. I can’t say enough amazing things about her. She was in contact with us and was very helpful in assisting us with the correct countertop. She made sure the correct countertops were ordered and we are very happy and pleased with her and her professionalism. I will continue to do business and order from HD in the future because of Carrie. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you so very much for being honest and getting what I needed fixed. Amazing customer service and communication.

Had the misfortune of having a breakdown while traveling to west Virginia, our truck bought fire and two tires blew out on our camper, and as we were just passing homedepot we decided we'd utilize their unused lot that's always vacant. I went in and spoke with the store about what happened and let them know we're only here to fix our truck and replace our tires and we will be on our way. In the short time we've had the displeasure of being parked here I have spent close to 3k for things we needed and thought that we were safe but boy was I mistaken. We wake up this morning to two home depot workers and two cops threatening to tow our belongings and trespass us. My final part arrives tomorrow and my truck is basically inoperable, I will forever now shop elsewhere as it's very apparent that no matter how much money you spend at this store you are nothing and treated as such. I am on the verge of returning all my purchases and rebuying elsewhere, I will never and I mean never buy anything from homedepot again...

Walked out today after the fourth trip going there where it appeared that asking employees to help (do their actual job) was such a large inconvenience for them. This has happened in lumber twice and paint twice where no one was at the station to help and when we finally tracked someone down it took forever and/or the attitude we got was atrocious. Finally today I just walked out after waiting for a considerable amount of time with three employees walking straight past us without acknowledging us, having to go ask someone standing 50 feet away to call someone to help, and still having no one show up. When we left there were two other groups also waiting for assistance at the paint counter. Headed straight to Ace Hardware where we’ve always received excellent customer service. Some things may be a little more expensive here and there and don’t have some or what HD has but would much rather spend my money where people treat you with respect.

On October 10, 2024 a co-worker and I went to the Home Depot store in Rutland, VT to purchase space heaters.
Money was collected by employees of GE Aerospace. Our sister plants in Asheville and West Jefferson NC were deeply impacted by Hurricane Helene.
The customer service we received by the Rutland Home Depot team was top notch. Denise our customer service representative was amazing. She and her team went above and beyond to help us get 39 space heaters to our GE Aerospace families in need.
A heartfelt thank you to Denise and her coworkers for making this happen. We wish you all continued success.

Sincerely yours,
GE Aerospace of Rutland, VT

store associate ego warrior making minium wage . taught to have pride and loyalty for a company that pushes propaganda that if your not loyal or prideful your not proper . thats in order to make sure the associates keep the capitalist swimming in money while proud cashier making barely anything living from check to check gets to make up the return policy as they go. I hope the dollar a year raise and a safety pin badge makes you proud and loyal to protect home depots billions while you make pennies. hope amazon is hurting the home depot .

Worst customer service at this location. I purchased tiles from Home Depot. They delivered them. They were from the same dye lot but are clearly different colors. You could not tell until they were grouted that some were darker than others. I went back to see how Home Depot could help and they haven’t responded to me in over a week. So sad as they say they pride themselves on customer service. Will not shop here ever again!

Great place. Had an issue with a hot water heater I purchased. It was damaged when I got home and opened the box. Brought it right back and they exchanged it with no issues

I love Home Depot. It’s normally great because I can go and get what I want and get out. I decided to buy a washer dryer from them for a remodel we’re doing. Thought it would be smart to go in and deal with the sales person on the floor. Seem to go great. Put in our order and upgraded us for a warranty that we needed. And we scheduled delivery for three weeks out. A week before washer dryer to be delivered, I got a text saying that it’s been rescheduled for delivery two months from now. Call the 800 number that they provide and they say that GE has , put the item on backorder. Remember, I bought this from a person sitting at the store in the Rutland Home Depot. I paid for it on my credit card and nothing was backordered at that time. My washer dryer should’ve been sitting in a warehouse waiting for the delivery date. Wouldn’t sell me the washer dryer on the floor, which seems on since he won’t be able to seel one of them for 2 months, you know, cause they’re on back order! No apology, no follow-up.

My friend has loved ordering her windows from James in Millwork. He has been very patient and is very knowledgeable. I would give him more than 5 stars if I could... Good job!

We use Home Depot when whenever we have a project because it's the only place in town that is open later and on Sundays. Unfortunately, there are several issues with this one. 1. The customer service team never ever asks if we need help. 2. When we go to the lumber area, the staff dissappear. My husband has been injured several times having to pick through the wood to find decent lengths that we could use. 3. The store in Rutland makes the military discount process extremely difficult. This is not the way to pay back service members for putting their lives on the line and defending this capitalist society that makes it easy for them to make money. 4. The lumber is twisty knotted up garbage. There is no focus on quality. Home Depot should pay better attention during the quality process before sending the wood to it's stores. Do better Home Depot. Especially in a small town like this you need to keep your customers.

I ordered a door for delivery and they changed the address to an address in a different city! Ironically, the place they changed the address to is the town right next to their store in Rutland. They cancelled my order and made it my problem. Someone then called me on the phone and screamed at me for wasting their time. Totally unacceptable!

UPDATE: Corporate contacted me. It's still my fault and they have absolved themselves and their delivery driver of any blame. From now on, I'm going to Lowes.

They had more than I was looking for, and the cashier was super friendly and helpful! Which was a very pleasant surprise compared to my hometown HD.

I unfortunately ordered an item from Home Depot and had it shipped 50 miles away to the Rutland store. Luckily, we enjoy going to Rutland so, no big deal. We browsed the store and located a vanity that we were looking for. The store was well stocked. Picking up the tool I ordered was less than pleasant. The customer service gal was a bit standoffish and not super pleasant to us or her coworker. Anyway,it was not a bad trip to Rutland.

Home Depot: the place where houses stop so passengers can get on and off as they travel around the county. Oh, wait, it’s just a big box store that sells some of, but not all of what you need to complete a home building project? Yeah, I think that’s right. You want some help while you’re there wondering around looking for answers? Sorry, but we all decided a long time ago that saving a couple bucks was a good trade off for service, so you’re on you own. The good thing is that with this hands off approach you can literally walk around the store building your creations using their materials and tools and revel in joy as the person at the check out counter tips their head in confusion at what you dumped on the counter. Oh wait, that doesn’t exist anymore. You’ll have to scan all the parts you assembled yourself. Okay have fun, and make sure you put hardware back in the wrong bins after you open them up to try them out.
