I bought a patio table with chairs and umbrella on facebook marketplace and 2 of the very much needed screws fell out somewhere along the way. I went into Ace today with one of the screws to try to find a few matches. Two different employees helped and both were so helpful and informative. I was able to get the screws I needed and the patio table was saved. Thank you to both of these great employees for your continued help and perseverance to figure it out for me! I appreciate it a lot! Highly recommend this store!

I had a paint color issue. It was my mistake, and completely my fault. The team at Ace St Albans went out of their way to make it right.
Everyone was so nice and helpful. I’m very happy with the service and care

Helpful hardware folks ('folks' is inclusive of any gender) were very nice to us same as any other in their store but then this makes perfect sense as it's only natural that an Ace would get along with a Joker.

Christine from St. Albans (usually Swanton) Ace Hardware went above and beyond when helping me look for a certain product. There have been many times where staff did not know where items were and did not try to help. I sincerely appreciate how helpful and friendly she was with me. Thank you!

I’ve never had any issues with this particular store. However, I called them today to ask about the price for a piece of plastic hose. When I was describing the plumbing issue I was going to use it for the man on the other end of the phone tried to steer me towards getting a completely different (more expensive) product. I explained that I didn’t need the product he was suggesting (not yet anyway) and he hung up on me. I’ve done my research on the particular issue I have. It may be easily fixed with a plastic hose, a funnel and some drano. The man wanted me to buy a snake. More expensive for one thing and I’ve read that snakes can do irreversible damage to pipes and should only be used by professional plumbers. I’m not trying to get in trouble with my landlord or cause a flood in my kitchen. I’m just trying to buy a piece of plastic pipe to get my drano where it needs to go. I guess since I’m a woman, I don’t know anything but he literally hung up on me! So rude! I think I’ll go to tractor supply from now on.

I came in to have a key made. A young man asked if he could help. I told him I needed some keys made. Before I was finished the manager told me I would have to go to the counter to get the keys done. She was very loud and her tone was very demeaning. Her customer relations skills are non existent. The way she was bossing the young man around was very embarrassing. I will not be back and there was a line at the counter at the time. The employee needed assistances the cash register and was told she would have to wait for help.Customer service severely lacking from management.

Staff needs to become more aware of the products they sell. I was told they don't have a product that their website states they have. Then i was directed to look in the wrong area. After about less than a minute of searching I found what I needed with no help of the staff (not that hard to find so like how do you not know you have it) then Was asked by the staff members where I found that like I'm not being paid to find your products for you, don't ask me find it yourself thanks.

I went in to have a key cut two months ago and a person who didn’t know how to cut keys cut my key and completely messed it up, which is totally fine accidents happen. They then replaced my key for free which was nice and ordered a key that never showed up for over a month, they then placed another order for another key and fob that has still not shown up. I have spoken to three people about keeping track of my key when it arrives and two of which no longer work there now and they had planned to come program my car for me for the inconvenience but now they no longer work there. I have been without a car for two months now and I have missed other appointments to get my car programmed or have my car towed and now Honda dealerships are out of the keys. Beyond frustrated at this point. I have never written a review and have never written a bad review in my life but this waiting game has been ridiculous and people not knowing where my key is, is beyond frustrating.

I have tried to order and replace my key remote fob since March 2022 and it is July 2022 and I still do not have it. I have ordered it through two different people and yet I am getting told wrong information repeatedly through their staff. I would love to see better communication through the staff. Everytime I would arrive in person they took more time with me but gave me wrong information and when calling on the phone, Ace staff did not want to deal with me.

I found everything that I was looking for. I was greeted as I entered. I was looking for a Christmas red paint.I was my lucky day.. It was in stock and ready to go. A gallon of mistinted paint was only$10. A great price for a$40+ paint.

Usually a good experience except for today. I asked for a particular product and was told that if it wasn't on the shelf then they didn't have any. That prompted me to have to ask if they would be stocking it or have it on order. The response was "I would have to look that up on the computer" There was no inclination or intent for him to do that so I left. Is COVID the problem or just lack of good employees?

I ordered paint. They didn't unload the truck so I didn't get the paint the day promised. Got to the store and asked to have paint shaken. Problem there. I was asked if I was using it today. Didn't see why that had any bearing on anything. So they shook the paint, never checked the covers and left them in the boxes. So one of the cans in the boxes leaked all over. So instead of taking paint off of the shelf they wanted to clean up one of the cans and have me take that. I will never go back to that joke of a store.

I spent almost 3 hours looking for a list of items and not a single employee came to see if I needed help....I saw 3 employees just standing around gossiping and on their cellphones. I ended up leaving most of my cart and just picked a few items that I was sure about. I got to the register and complained to the cashier about the lack of help I received. She was apologetic and wanted to give me 50% off my purchase. She told the manager (?) What happened and asked if she could give me the discount. He very rudely told her absolutely not! He turned to me and rudely stated that if I was not satisfied then I could file a complaint. I left the store without my items.... I have NEVER been treated so poorly at a store! These were all young kids and I guessed they've never been trained on how to treat customers and do their jobs correctly. They would probably do a lot more business if they had staff that knew how to work, do their jobs well, take pride in what they do, and treat customers well so that the customer would keep coming back !!! I will NEVER shop at Ace again and would rather drive to Burlington and shop a hardware store that treated their customers better!!!

Great place to get basic hardware, paint, or tools in St Albans. The staff is very friendly, however sometimes they are overly friendly. I know it's their job to ask if you need anything or if they can help you but sometimes they bombard you as soon as you walk in the door with questions. While some people might like this, I am more of a let me see what you have and I will ask if I need help finding anything.

It was so awesome I needed to return a auto jump starter that was rattling since the day I bought it and I have never used it but after I bought it that day I left on a 2-week trip so it was already two weeks old when I returned it. And the cashier Clerk gave me no problem returning it and I just exchange it for a new one in stock. I was very happy with that transaction but I did not have a sales receipt because I had purchased it as a start pick up online.

Though the store didn't have what I stopped by to pick up (something to get the snow off the roof of my house), the staff was willing to help and checked other locations as well as having one available in a day. Great employees and, even if they don't always have what you need on hand that day, a great selection.
