I went into the paint section looking for a sander that attaches onto a pole. At first I didn't see the tool so I asked. I even showed her the picture. She directed me across the store to aisle14. After looking all over and finding nothing even close I had to ask someone else. I found what I thought I needed in drywall. I went back into paint to find the sanding paper for it. That's when I saw the 3m sander. Under the sand paper. So I got the sand paper and just kept the first sander thinking the sand paper would fit it only to find it didn't fit. Now i am going to have to return to the store. If that clerk knew her area she could have saved me a lot of grief. I had no help in the paint area and I got sent all over the store. I am returning everything and going some where else.

On 7/15/25 I was at the store in chehalis Washington. I was looking for electrical parts. I walked around the store for at least 10 to 15 minutes looking for some staff for help. I ended up going to the service desk where I was helped. Again on 7/16 I went back to the same store looking for additional parts. I asked 2 employees for help, each said it should be on isle and the number. The asked the 2nd employee if he could show me the location of these parts. I was just directed to an isle where he thought it might be. This is probably the worst service I have seen at this store and I will not return as I was able to find a local electrical company with employees with knowledge and was able to help me get the parts I needed.

Just came in to do a return. The 90 day window had passed so we got an in-store credit. No hassle, good service.

Elliott and Zeke (?) were super helpful!!
They loaded a pallet of mulch into my truck with no fuss or hassle and were careful and respectful.
I was happy to see they were still working and ready to load my second pallet later in the afternoon

I had purchased several metric bolts at Ace, but later found I was a few short. Ace had already closed for the day so i went to Home depot. There were no prices on the bags, but I assumed it was probably reasonable. I was so wrong. At checkout I found they were 3-4x more expensive at Home Depot than at Ace.
On the other hand they were helpful.

5 stars for everything they have but customer service has NO KNOWLEDGE of what they are selling and run away only to say that isn't their department. Employees avoid talking to you or turn around look the othway when approaching. Lumber department has the worst employee's as they just stand there looking at you while you are trying to load n not offering help. They always throw a fit when you push them for material that has to be brought down with a fork lift, its their freaking JOB. Management has no clue their employee's are hiding from preforming their duties.

Absolute waste of time. Stood in garden department couldn't find anyone so went up front to ask for help 10 min later they send someone who doesn't even work in that department and left me standing for an additional 5 min then they call the actual associate which never showed after waiting an additional 10 min. So I just left. They had 9 associates at the front just staring at me doing Absolutely nothing to offer help. I highly suggest going to ace hardware and or take the extra time to drive elsewhere and find more competent people who know how to do there job.

We recently purchased two appliances from our local store. Appliance Specialist, Stacy Walker was tremendously helpful in assisting us with our purchasing and return of the one that did not work out. We will not hesitate to return to this store for our next appliance purchase. Many thanks to Stacy!

Sabrina in blinds was amazing...we had to come back a second time for cutting because we forgot to include the end caps on our measurement. She was very kind and helpful!

The absolute worst! They had my phone number in their system under a different name and they refused to fix it! I was buying a washer and dryer spending thousands of dollars. The manager literally put their hands in my face confronting me all because they put a wrong number in. Truly unbelievable stupidity I will never ever go to another home depot again! Yuk! The staff and management lack customer service and common sense! Save yourself the trip and go to Lowe's.

Their preorder pickup service sucks! We ordered 20 bags of potting soil this morning and came to pick it up at 4:00 pm and waited 15 minutes for it, (yes we did check in) finally my husband went in to check on it. The gal said she was aware of it. Then she came out to tell us they hadn't pulled it.. if you have a preorder and pick up system you should be able to get it when you come in.. If this was the only time it's happened I wouldn't be upset about it, but it always happens.. Walmart can do it, why can't you guys??

My dad and I have been going here for as long as they've been in service and have had such a great experience throughout the years.

We've found most, if not all of our building and construction material needs and more at the Home Depot.

Very helpful staff Scotty and Mark helped us today with our purchase of gutter material. The staff running the cashier, Drew, was very kind as well!

Thank you Home Depot for your dedication to supplying the surrounding area with so much useful materials. Highly recommend visiting for all your construction, renovation, and building needs and more!!!

Waited for over 30 minutes for a small curb side pickup before finally going in to pick it up. However they gave a discount for having to wait at least.

This is the only home Depot I have ever been to where they won't let you take the stickers- the trash wood that they used to ship in the good product. Blows my mind. Every other home Depot I've ever been to will let you take as many as you want because they get so much of it AND IT'S TRASH WOOD! They had a stack 7 ft tall out back and dudes like no you can't take it. That is wild to me. I've literally never been told no and I've gotten them from 30 different home depots I bet. This is the type of customer service that will make me not shop there. I'll probably go to Lowe's and I hate Lowe's.
I BET THEY'RE TAKING IT HOME TO BURN FOR FIREWOOD.

Home Depot, it’s pretty consistent, employees usually don’t know anything but are usually happy to help however they can… still better than those other big box store guys that don’t carry any Milwaukee…

I'm a contractor and I have seen a very disturbing problem with HD. They have been selling cheaper products and charging more for them. Any more everything is being made in China and is of very poor quality. Looking for a new place to buy my products.
Plus, when trying to call them it keeps ringing and ringing and ringing and ringing and ringing and if that annoys you, try calling HD. That will really annoy you.

Was looking for specific lumber but it was hidden out front. Several employees attempted to help me find it... My wife finally found it when she moved the car and parked next to it. I received a discount for my troubles.

Had to break down and get a new air conditioner. I am 3 weeks out of a total shoulder replacement. I was dragging a heavy air conditioner through the store, then employee Steve sees me struggling, gets a cart, loads it up, walks me to check out, goes with me to my car and
loads it for me. Major Koodos to Steve!! My kids unloaded, and now the animals are no longer playing melty splat. Great service once again.

Pricing questions
1. What is the average roof replacement cost for a residential home?
+-

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.

3. What factors affect the overall roof repair cost?
+-

Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.

4. What is the typical roof leak repair cost, and how is it calculated?

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
