This location for Home Depot has improved. It is a clean store, and their propane tank exchange is a valuable resource. Online pickup is simple, aside that one must wait in line with the people doing returns. HD should separate these functions.

Yesterday, I came to Home Depot to spend WHATEVER it took to get the best industrial bucket& mop+ gloves..etc..I was overwhelmed@the make, model, (whatever you call it) just making sure my selection was right!
Unfortunately, the 1st employee brushed me off saying, "No, that's all we got".
Frustrated, I went looking for help& ☆Joe☆came rushing around the corner& said, "Can I help you with something?"
"Shout-out" to Home Depot for having☆Joe☆! Because of his excellent customer service I was able to get Everything I needed& avoided shopping elsewhere!
I really appreciated☆Joe's☆help!

As a disabled Pro customer, I would like the Hilo store to answer its phone! I called the rental department 3 times on 5/18/2025. To see if they had a truck to rent on 5/19/2026. I was on the phone for 3 hours with no answer. So I called the Pro dept. To get a delivery to my Job site, and was on the phone again 1 hour before someone answered the phone, said that Pro Dept. was busy and would like to give a message to them. I left a message, and did not get a call back. I went in to get my order on 5/19/2025 in my truck, but did not get my whole order. Because I needed a bigger truck.

Been many times but this visit really stood out as amazing!
Aja was so nice, kind, funny, and helpful! She helped me open a Home Depot credit card and this saved me over $150! She is an asset to the company and I hope she is there next time I shop!!

best place to shop for anything. even the workers are nice enough to help you. the women are beautiful, and the people are great. this is the place i used to kick back at when i was homeless. love this store.

None of the lights work in any of the displays. The Tool section is disorganized and makes no sense. The plumbing selection gets worse every week. The pre hung doors are complete garbage now with downgraded hardware and poor quality construction. It's also complete B.S. that they won't bring in Quickrete brand cement to save Hawaiians money. Instead they bow down to the monopoly Hawaiian Cement has one the Islands. Its been 3 months since I wrote this review and the lights still arent fixed. This place is a home improvement place that can't fix their own lights. Let that sink in.

Curbside pick up takes way too long. Waited 20mins just to pick up a fan! Meanwhile Target across the street has 17year olds carrying out shopping carts full of groceries with only a 5min wait. Is it really that complicated? Why is Home Depot always filled with issues but Target, Safeway and Walmart are thriving constantly!!! I don’t understand….

Tile? I had never tried to do tile projects because it's error intolerant ...

I ask for help from a HomeDepot associate for input on grout, and tips.

He was eager to help and give me a few ideas, and suggested a bag of "tile wedge locks"... my experience was set to be successful! I like the results...

Giving the store a 5-star rating primarily because of the crew at the contractor pickup/loading area. I'm 4 loads of 20+ bags of 80lb quickcrete in, and Lopaka, Kajin, Elija, Tua - all been super nice and helpful in loading them into my truck bed each time I was there. My back is in bad shape, and knowing I'm able to drive away with this heavy of a load of materials feels very empowering. It's a lot of lifting - and I'm grateful. They are a great reason this Home Depot actually works.

I stopped shopping at Lowe's because of the incredible level of incompetence and laziness of their employees. I mistakenly thought Home Depot was better. Not in the least. After 7 phone calls I still haven't talked to a human. 3 times I was transferred by the automated system only to have someone pick up and hang up. I was given a business card from Gerlyn at the Pro Desk and when I called the extension on the card I was sent to receiving. The fact that business cards are printed with the wrong extension on them and they are still handed out should tell you all you need to know. Nobody answers emails either. I've never had such a hard time spending money in my entire life ‍♀️

I honestly don't understand why the store manager isn't doing something about this. When you're on hold, have been on hold for 30 minutes, and arrive at the store only to see everyone at the Pro desk standing around talking there's a serious problem.

Every time I go to Hilo Home Depot, it’s always packed, things are always out of stock, and their system never updates if something is available or not. Made multiple trips only to waste my time because it takes weeks for their system to update and even if they do update their system its still inaccurate.

Wow... I go to pick up my Curb Side order of 5 simple bags of concrete... The curbside worker comes out and tells me to go under the covered contractor pick up area where they'll be waiting for me... I drive over and the next guy asks me for my receipt, I showed him my phone receipt... He said "No... You need to have a paper receipt, they should have gave you a paper receipt at curbside pickup".. which the first worker didn't at curbside when I checked in.... The next Employee at the Contractor Pickup then goes inside and brings out a guy named Sio who was insanely rude. Sio told me to go inside and wait in line to receive a paper receipt before I could pick up my Curbside Pickup Order, even after I had already Checked-In and was instructed to come here to get it! I told Sio, No... You go inside and get me a receipt (I had my kids in the car and certainly did not plan on going inside which is why I did curbside pickup.)... He then tell's me "I'm making things complicated and to stop being a tough guy"... I go wait in line for a receipt, and then had to my explain myself for the 3rd time to someone, the new customer service worker was so confused, meanwhile Sio stands there doing nothing in the distance watching me like a creep... Fed up finally of all the non-sense... I walked over to Sio and told him that he needs to explain to them since you know what to do apparently... Sio walked over to the Customer Service worker and they were like ohhhh okay then printed me out a receipt... Took nearly 45min to pick up 5 bags of concrete at curbside... Good job Home Depot employees for creating more work and issues for everyone including yourselves. An absolutely failed pickup system, and poor leadership. Lowes, if your reading this... Hilo is ready for you.

I had trouble having my shipped to store tiles located by multiple employees. Chase was the one who took the responsibility to go to the warehouse, locate and wheel out the loads. He also take the initiative when I had issue with getting broken tiles sorted. Even with all the troubles with this order, Chase is the one employee whose professionalism, responsibility that made me feel the Homedepot is providing good custom service.

Chase earned my respect today. He was extremely helpful, attentive and professional. He went above and beyond with his customer service.
Home Depot should recognize him as a valuable asset to the company.

I interacted with several employees here. They were all helpful in their own way. Some pretty knowledgeable employees, too. They helped me figure out what I need for a project. Would recommend this hardware and home store in Hilo.

I’ve had poor experiences dealing with this location in the past, but an Appliance Associate named James Dillard changed my mind today. He was extremely helpful, attentive and professional. He went above and beyond with his customer service support.
I hope Home Depot recognizes him as a valuable asset to the company and compensates him accordingly.

Been going here for 20 years as a contractor and I'm pretty sure this location has 4 or 5 people that do everything while everyone else is worthless. Pro desk staff are worthless, will call staff have 1 good person, same with door section, appliances and flooring. The loaders and cart guys are solid and there is 1 cashier that is the best most helpful person in the store. That cashier is so much better than everyone else I can't imagine why they are not managing the store. 2 or 3 of the other cashiers are OK. This store loses everything, nearly every time. Good luck finding stuff you ordered because no one will help you. Several times I have to go behind the will call desk to find my stuff when they insist it's not there. It's the only game in town so I guess they can do what they want. That being said for the most part the staff are friendly just incompetent. If I could do all my shopping at Ace instead I would. Whoever is managing this store seriously has done a terrible job and needs to be replaced.

I had been helped by 2 employees and waited for N hour to get my grill..After frustration these 2 employees got it done.Moro the forklift driver came as employee chase got the situation handled

Love the kids diy every first Saturday of the month. They have diys online, I wish theyd bring back in-house ones. I know they would need enough people to sign up but I think it would be fun.

Some of the employees need to be reminded why they are there.

Some of the checkers will let you leave without your purchases if you forget to grab them.

Customer service is a little lax.

The small handful of employees who do like their job, are very helpful. And friendly.

The worst Home Depot ever seen on the Hillo side. All the management needs to be fired or sent back to school. Don’t know how to manage a store. I am a contractor spend about 100 K a year at Home Depot. This specific store location is always out of stuff or nobody knows where things are. Also, the rental place is a rip off. Brought my tool back 15 minute late. Charge me for 24 hours.

Update on September 15 I want to pick up my tab and a special orderer a fiberglass front Door. They couldn’t find the door for an hour and a half. Finally they got it and the person that ordered the door ordered the wrong door. Here goes waste of two months.

Wow so I went with HD curbside order online. Great service there for helping me load as always... But the quality of the wood they chose was so poor. All my 16’ ft pieces missing in order. Some of the 12’ ft. See pictures of the quality of the wood.

Out of a lot of products I came in for.
Homedepot the computers were down at the customer service so I waited in line to return something about 45 minutes. I waited in line patiently. When I finished I went to the pro desk to make my delivery order. The man was very rude and told me I had to wait. So I said no problem I’ll go get the items. So I grabbed a guy to help which he was very helpful. Together we brought the carts up to the pro desk. A very nice young man checked me out and then it came to getting the delivery. The young lady decided I needed 4 pallets for an order consisting of 2 - 8”ft gates and 2 Toilets in a box. And that I had to put a $25 deposit for each pallet ($100) and I had to bring them back to the store.
If I had my own truck I wouldn’t need a delivery. So that means I have a car. So she did not care and just rude.
Now my order comes today. Open box on one toilet, other has shoe holes in the box and no pallets. The boxes were in perfect condition when I gave the products to pro desk. The gates are scratched. And it’s not the fault of the delivery company. So why charge me for pallets and make it such a big deal??
HPM takes the pallets back with them. No deposit needed. Have fun asking someone a question, some of the people seems like their deaf or just rude. Same people that I have asked before. Amazing !!!!! Changing where I shop… this place has gone down hill fast…
