I got scammed through gift card scam in november 2024. I asked my bank to help me to get my money back and bank denied me. I asked Home depot to help to at least investigate and try to stop the scammers but they didn’t care to do anything cuz they only care about getting the money. I am single mother recovering from stage 3 breast cancer. I needed that $2000 to have good Christmas and pay my bills. I think home depot hot to do something about their gift cards so scammers can’t use their cards. Most businesses already have systems in place to avoid the scam and homedepot should too

The free installation with hoses package is a LIE. The delivery drivers were in such a hurry they wouldn't even answer any questions we had and walked away from us mid question. When I spoke to customer service about it they were less than helpful and basically called me a liar and said I was SOL and to do it myself...I'm disabled and can't lift a thousand pound washer on my own so thanks for nothing. I would recommend ANYWHERE but home depot if you need appliances.

Future home builders beware. I purchased a appliance package on Home Depot website for a home we are currently building. I ordered in November 2024 and they came in December 2024 . My cabinets were back ordered twice and then lost! Finally 3 weeks ago I finally was able to install them. All the appliances fit but the microwave. The cabinets were custom made and could not be changed. I need the smaller microwave to fit. So I go to Home Depot to exchange it for the smaller one and I honestly didn’t think that I would be told no, but I was. They have a 48 hour return policy on appliances which I didn’t know. I informed them of the situation and told them the reason they had not been installed and I just need to exchange it for the smaller one. I was told there was nothing they could do for me and the policy was 48 hours. I asked for an exception to the policy because I felt this was an exception. These appliances were delivered to a house that I can’t even live in yet and my cabinets could not be changed and i had the microwave with me and it was still in the box unopened and never been installed and i wanted to exchange it for the correct one , but it did not matter and i was told since they didn’t carry it in store I couldn’t do a exchange. I explained they sold it to me on their website and I spent $9000 for the appliances that did not matter either and was told to reach out to GE. GE was not much help either they said it was up to the store if they would take it back and they called the Harrisonburg VA store and asked the manager and they said NO. I was extremely disappointed and couldn’t believe that someone would not or even be able to help me. So future home builders make sure your appliances fit within 48 hours and don’t let them sit in garage because you don’t even have your cabinets in. I can’t speak for everyone but if you’re building a house everything gets behind. I will no longer support this store..

A few months ago, I had a problem with my bidet and had to buy a new part to connect my toilet to my bidet. After some trial and error, Patrick, the head of plumbing I believe, was able to help me fix the problems I was having. Haven’t had any issues since.

My husband and I bought pine straw and some other items for our yard on July 13. Customer service from the young men working in the garden part of the store that morning was excellent. They OFFERED to help us and quickly found what we needed. They OFFERED to load things for us. The three of them coordinated our purchases efficiently so we were in and out quickly. Great customer service!

Rental department failed to provide the hose and attachment for the dewalt sander as advertised. Brought to the attention of the manager and he was unwilling to satisfy my request. Talked to corporate they said it was a store problem and they stand behind their decision. Lowes is across the street and rental companies are plentiful.

Home Depot is usually a great spot for most home improvement projects. I just wanted to leave a review to talk about their unprofessionalism and disorganization for booking rental vans/trucks. My fiancé and I booked a moving truck through Home Depot over a month ago; we received confirmation and paid the deposit immediately. We then received a text less than 12 hours prior to our scheduled pickup time that stated the truck would not be available. This seems odd because driving to Walmart showed me that they have 4 rental moving vehicles out front. I’m not sure what the issue is, but we were given such short notice that someone without resources (friends with trucks) would be totally out of luck this shortly before move.

Spend your money elsewhere. The management and customer service at the Harrisonburg location is an absolute joke. As a local contractor, I purchased thousands of dollars worth of tools and materials, every month, exclusively through this Home Depot. Never again. I ordered a 12'x16' building from them that was supposed to arrive within 10 days. I paid over $3500 cash, plus shipping costs. 15 days later I still had no building and was told that it had been delivered, then to wait a couple more days, then it had been delivered, again. When I told them I would like a refund, I was told it would be given in the form of a check that would arrive in the mail within 7 business days. 7 business days later, I called the store only to be told that I had already received a cash refund and the return was closed. After explaining that I had not received anything, they told me they would look into it and call me back, which they did a few hours later. Then I was told that the check had just been mailed that day, and to wait another 7-10 business days for it to arrive. Unhappy with the whole situation, I called customer service, only to find out that this was all lies. They had never sent the check to begin with. Here it is one month later and I am still waiting on a refund for a building that I paid cash for and never received. Not only incompetent, but deceitful as well. Buy anywhere but here.

Although most of the staff are very friendly and helpful, the returns girl that just waited on me is either a stupid lazy person,or the store policy is moronic. I paid 37.89$ with 2 20 dolar bills, she said I couldn't give her the 2.11 to get my 2 twenties back. Now i have a pocket full of change and a pocket full of ones!! Thanks!

I hate this company with a passion. Every time I try to go and buy something, the employees are clueless and zero help. On top of that, the wood is always warped and out of shape. Don’t know how they stay in business when this is how every store operates.

Where doers come to waste their time.
Purchased a wood splitter online for pickup at this location. Got a text saying my order was ready for pickup. Drove 45min out to pick it up. Stood around for an hour waiting for them to take care of other customers. After that they tell me it's sitting in a giant box and won't actually be ready to take home for another 5 days

I would suggest calling ahead to make sure your order is actually ready, but something tells me that whoever answers the phone would see the same "Ready for pickup" status I got and say that it's ready. Maybe just try Lowe's instead.

Edit: A month later, to make this even worse, they still have not refunded me the ~$1700 for the wood splitter which I cancelled the order for. Had to call corporate and they told me I needed to go back to the store to have the refund processed through the register. An order that was originally placed online and now must be processed through the register in the store. The store that's 45min away that already wasted hours of my time earlier this month. And keep in mind they NEVER informed me about this. I checked my bank statements and noticed the money never came back in from the order and had to call corporate to see what went wrong.

Go to Lowes or buy on Amazon or something. Check your statements and don't let them steal your money. This place sucks.

This is a great place to buy home appliances and all kinds of tools. I went there to get a white basecoat for the walls and tried to get a little bit of advice but I didn't find anyone to help. I ended up getting one by myself and ran away.

The worst customer service!! I ordered 1 window online for in store pickup. Online it stated 4 were in stock. At 9:30 pm I got a call from a private number stating sorry we don't have that in stock we canceled your order. They gave me no options for help. They didn't offer to order it for me, they didn't offer a similar product. I asked why I wasn't offered any additional help. They said "because we didn't have it, go online and order it". Really??? Thank you... I will NEVER use this store again.

It's a standard big box hardware store period. We don't use them very often they are our least preferred option in town. Customer service people on the floor were very helpful. Was given a gift card with a faulty peel-off strip for the card number and pin. Numbers for obliterated during the scratch-off process but the barcode on the card and the barcode on the receipt were still valid and legible.
Was told that wasn't going to work would take a couple hours and they would send me a replacement card or a check or I could wait about 2 hours and see what happened. Couldn't wait let the store phone call telling me stop being sometime and I'll knock $50 off my next purchase. Neither of which is a replacement card or the check I was promised and I told him that's the only thing I was accepting. Seems like every time we deal with these guys on even the simplest matters these are the things that happen. They don't seem to have any processes in place to satisfy the customer or pick the simple answer it's always a long drawn-out process and unlikely we'll be back once this card is used up.

I was excited that i received better store support at the Harrisonburg Home depot than at Lowes. Well, i you fish long enough in the same pond you find all the snags. They are what they are.... a box store! They ran the mom and pops out of business and we have been left with... NEXT! No real customer support! I will never enter that store again!

The Home Depot is a hardware store that offers everything from construction materials to appliances to a decent garden center. Prices are usually slightly less than their competitors. Customer service is much better than many larger department stores. Highly recommended.

Limited selection is the only drawback to this location. Love at the service desk is a straight up rock star.

Pricing questions
1. What is the average roof replacement cost for a residential home?
+-

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.

Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.

4. What is the typical roof leak repair cost, and how is it calculated?

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
