Just so you know, Petal Lowe's is the place to go, just look at my receipt and it shows.
Petal is a much calmer and more laid back experience than Laurel or Hattiesburg. The staff is friendly and they can handle the big orders as good as any.
There's always good deals on the back wall but there are also special finds throughout the store, could be anywhere so it's worth browsing.
One hint of advice....seasons change and everything goes on clearance eventually....everything folks.

The call in operator doesn't work or acknowledge anything. We were doing a fence at my property, had about 18 people over. It actually became a game, see if anyone could get through or get any information at all. After almost 90 minutes and the joke becoming not so funny anymore we actually drove to home depot in hattiesburg. A place i swore I would never go again, and my fence got put off until next week. Shop Phillips in laurel if you can, the big guys just don't give a damn.

Paint department is impossible to get paint from . The worst ! I’m sitting here now and no one helps you . I guess you must be a professional painting contractor and come in the 9-5 hours to get your paint . Well I have another job and can’t come 9-5

Dissatisfied Customer – Cabinet Installation Disaster in Laurel, MS

I’m extremely disappointed with the service my elderly parents have received from Lowe’s in Laurel, MS. They ordered kitchen cabinets back in December 2024, and after months of waiting, the cabinets finally arrived on March 19, 2025—only to be left sitting on their porch for two weeks.

On March 29, the installers came to begin installation, but to this day—nearly two months later—their kitchen is still not finished. Meanwhile, my parents are being charged and are making payments on an unfinished kitchen.

Despite countless attempts to get this resolved, Lowe’s has not made this a priority. This ongoing delay is unacceptable, especially considering my parents are elderly and were depending on this project being done in a timely and professional manner.

I’m sharing this to **warn others—especially elderly customers and their families—**to seriously reconsider using Lowe’s for kitchen remodeling or cabinet installation. Try another store that will treat your project with urgency

My elderly grandparents, who have been loyal Lowe’s customers for over 10 years, ordered cabinets and counter tops on December 8, 2024. It is now late May 2025, and the installation is still not complete while simultaneously making payment on these items.

This experience has been nothing short of frustrating and unacceptable. My grandparents trusted Lowe’s because of their long history with the company, but that trust has been completely shattered. There have been constant delays, poor communication, and a complete lack of accountability.

It’s especially upsetting because my grandparents are elderly and cannot navigate these issues easily. We have reached out multiple times, and while there have been promises of resolution, the situation drags on with no end in sight.

For a company as large and established as Lowe’s, this level of service is inexcusable—especially when dealing with senior customers who deserve respect and reliability.

We will not be recommending Lowe’s to anyone moving forward, and we are seriously reconsidering any future business with them.

LOWES HAS TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF MY ELDERLY GRANDPARENTS. MY GRANDPARENTS ORDERED NEW CABINETS AND COUNTERTOPS BACK IN DECEMBER OF LAST YEAR! MY GRANDPARENTS KITCHEN HAS BEEN DESTROYED FOR THE PAST 4 MONTHS! THEY SENT OUT CONTRACTORS TO REPAIR THEIR KITCHEN. They TORE THE KITCHEN UP AND BEGAN INSTALLING THEIR CABINETS AND LEFT THE KIT HEN HALF DONE! LOWES HAVE NOT SENT ANYONE BACK TO FINISH THE KITCHEN SINCE FEBRUARY! MY GRANDPARENTS STILL DONT HAVE COUNTERTOPS NOR A SINK.. THE CABINETS THAT THEY DID INSTALL WERENT EVEN MEASURED CORRECTLY. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! My grandparents still have boxes sitting on their front porch. MY GRANDPARENTS HAVE BEEN LOYAL CUSTOMERS TO LOWES FOR OVER 20 Years. THEIR HAS BEEN SO MANY PROMISES FROM LOWES WITH NO ACTION! WE WILL

Purchased a gas stove on 2/21. Waited til 3/12 when they said they were coming. They never showed up, never called even when customer service told me they would. They tell me delivery will be today, 3/14. Guy calls and says he’s about here but he’s not certified to take out nor install a gas stove. After telling him I had nowhere to put a new one, I told him to take it back. I called Lowe’s of Laurel, MS and the guy acted like he could care less about the inconveniences. I told him I wanted my money back and after 20 years of being a loyal Lowe’s customer, I would not be back.

Good luck on catching the pro associates. They are not there on weekends nor after 4pm on weekdays I guess they chose their hrs. I showed up for the third attempt today at 3:20 and the lady said they have already went home. Guess there is no reason to be a pro member.

Was supposed to get a delivery yesterday. They called my boyfriend and said that they wouldn’t be arriving until 9pm (window we were given said six at the latest) but that they could reschedule for today. Since we have a young child he took that option. Come to find out the driver lied and now our order was rescheduled for Monday. This weekend is the only time in weeks my boyfriend had to do this project and now we’ll be pushed back weeks! If the driver had been honest he wouldn’t have rescheduled, this delivery was already pushed back by Lowe’s, and cost 100 dollars! We won’t be using Lowe’s anymore.

The service at this particular location is horrible. We stood at the paint counter for 20 minutes without any assistance. I made eye contact with 5 employees and none of them offered assistance or paged someone. So we found an employee (the only one actually working) he apologized and helped us promptly. DO BETTER LOWE'S

Employees watched me load 11 sheets of 5/8 plywood, 20 2x4s and 2 sheets of sheetrock onto a cart without offering a hand, they watched me roll it into the parking lot and load it into my truck alone, on top of this I helped 2 other customers load things as they complained about the customer service. I wont be back and wouldn't recommend. Customers help each other more than Lowes employees do. Notice how all the 5 star reviews are local guides!

Tried to purchase a overhead sunshade as advertised On their website for $30. And all sunshades in store were advertised roughly $28 to $40. Once I tried to purchase the shade they rung up for $70.... the cashier was very helpful but the manger who "helped" Me talk down to me like this was my problem. I asked her if they didn't do new signs or price changes and I was then blamed as the customer for not putting it where it went... The manger then continued Is to act dumb by scanning the metal beam saying "oh cant scan it so it must be $70 like the register says" yet NO shade in store is advertised as $70. Lowes trying to miss lead their customers and rob them blind.

Only one cashier and the quest had an issue and They had nobody present.
We have several businesses and AI is coming weather we like it or not.
Remember, you can always get service.
Place a dollar and a drink falls out. You have just be serviced by a vending machine.
The companies of the future will consist of Hospitality.
Rude and non caring attitudes with take care of the companies that fund them.

Generally, I know what I am looking for in a hardware store. There are usually a couple of workers around in the area if I need help. Until I get over to the lumber side of the house. I don't know if these guys are stretched razor thin, but we couldn't find one. We needed 2x4x12's. Which is a rather long board and somewhat difficult to maneuver. The only ones available were on a rack just above my head, so I could only get one at a time. After I got home I found about half of the board have stress fractures and are unusable.

This store didn't have the item I was looking for. But a very courteous gentleman helped me and was able to determine that not only their store in Laurel was out of it, but that Petal nor Hattiesburg has it either. Great customer service!

Oh man, let me tell you about Lowe's, okay? This place is like a magical wonderland of tools and stuff. I walked in there, and it was like, BAM! Everything you need to fix stuff, build stuff, or just, you know, look at stuff. The aisles are like these endless tunnels of possibilities.

I went in looking for a hammer, right? But then I saw this drill, and I was like, "Whoa, I need that too!" And the staff, oh boy, they were super helpful. I asked this guy where the nails were, and he didn't just point me in the direction, no, he walked me there! Like, who does that? Lowe's does, that's who!

And the smell, oh man, the smell of fresh lumber and paint, it's like a symphony for your nose. I could spend hours just wandering around, dreaming up all the projects I could start (and maybe never finish, but that's not the point).

So yeah, if you need anything for your home or just want to feel like a DIY king, Lowe's is the place to be. Five stars, no doubt about it!
