I went in on June 6th to purchase a 2025 Kia Carnival using Costco’s true car pricing with an established purchase price, a trade in, and paying the remaining balance with a cashier’s check. What I thought was going to be a simple, no haggle transaction turned into me spending 6 hours at the dealership. Kia of Laurel asked me to obtain my 15 day pay off for my trade, which I provided. My car payment on my trade was due on June 13th and after waiting a few days for Kia to complete the loan payoff, made a final payment on my trade to avoid it becoming late. Kia did not pay off my trade in until July 7th, well over a month after the vehicle was traded in, and paid $661.68 less than agreed because I made a payment after trading in the car. Here we are a month later and my salesperson, Johnny, won’t return texts nor will Business Manager, Cliff Clark, respond to texts, emails, or return calls. I guess I’ll need to make the hour long drive out to Laurel to demand my overpayment because no one at the dealership is being responsive. Long story short, these folks play games. Stay far away unless you’re willing to compromise time, money, or both while buying a new car.
