I bought and paid for a washer from Lowe's on a Thursday, but they did not have any in the store. The associate told us that their next truck would be on Wednesday and we could pick it up after 10am. The receipt that he gave us says it will be ready for pick up on Wednesday the 6th, also. So we took off work to pick it up on Wednesday. We didn't get a notification that it was ready for pick up so we went to the store around 4pm. The manager informed us that they only get trucks on Tuesday and Thursday and my washer was on the Thursday truck. While we were there waiting for the bad news, another customer was there trying to pick up his order that was supposed to be ready and guess what....it was going to be another hour for him. The manager did not seem to care about all these issues. I am a manager at a restaurant and if we mess up, we make it right to our customers. I will not be ordering any more appliances at Lowe's again!

Extremely Frustrating Experience – Poor Communication and Incompetent Staff After a $6K+ Purchase

I normally don’t leave reviews, but my recent experience with Buckhannon Lowe’s Store #1805 was so frustrating that it needs to be shared so processes and procedures can be fixed from the top down.

I spent over $6,000 on appliances, added 5-year protection plans, and even opened a Lowe’s credit card to make the purchase. Any store manager or district manager would tell you that’s exactly the kind of sale they want. I checked every box in a sale—and yet, the service I received was nothing short of a disaster.

My delivery was canceled twice. The first time, I received a call the morning of at 7:00 AM. I returned the call only to get an automated message confirming my delivery between 8:00 AM and 12:30 PM. I called again at 12:00 PM, and the automated message still confirmed my appointment for that day. When I called at 1:00 PM and bypassed the automated transcripts, I found out that my order was canceled due to incorrect processing of the original order which could have been avoided if the sales associate knew what they were doing.

The assistant store manager assured me they could cancel the order and process it again with a delivery set for Monday (2 days later). She promised to call me if there were any issues. (Keep in mind this was processed with their store credit card and the appliances were already in the back)

On Monday morning (day of delivery), I called at 7:15 AM to get ahead of the situation and ensure there were no hiccups. They informed me that the delivery had been canceled again due to incorrect processing. (The appliances are still sitting in the back at the Buckhannon store.)

The cause? Complete incompetence on the part of the sales associates who failed to process the order correctly, ultimately causing the items to be canceled and reordered. This unnecessary delay wasted my time.

Despite the size of the purchase and my effort to do everything by the book, I kept hitting roadblocks.

This experience made it clear that spending thousands of dollars on a store card and committing to long-term coverage means nothing when basic communication and competence are missing. Lowe’s needs to take a serious look at how their in-store teams are trained and held accountable.

I will be going to another appliance store today to make the exact same purchase that Lowe’s missed out on.

Bought the more expensive refrigerator because it would arrive in 3 days (none in stock). 9 days later, without a refrigerator, we were scheduled for delivery. It was raining so NO REFRIGERATOR! After many calls my refrigerator was at the Buckhannon store, where I bought it twelve days earlier. I spoke with the manager, I could not get my refrigerator delivered, 5 miles from store to my house, for two more days. BUCKHANNON LOWES not dependable if you NEED an appliance in any reasonable amount of time.

Lowes needs to go out of business. I have been there 3 different types in past few weeks and you can't get no help from no one. If you do get help they are so rude to you. The website says they have items in stock but when you waste your gas to go there they don't have the item. People rushes you around like you are on their time.

Bought a stove yesterday and lemme tell you what, I can’t applaud the store enough on the great customer service we received. The ladies at customer service were amazing and talked to my girls while we waited on them to bring our stove up, maybe not even a 5 minute wait, and the guys from appliances were awesome and even loaded it up in the back of our van for us. I would highly recommend this store for anything you might find yourself needing. The whole process was easy, from purchasing to picking it up. The associates really are amazing down there!

Lowe’s store employees are fantastic! Lowe’s Installation Center has been a nightmare. Screwed everything up from beginning to end. Didn’t return calls, broke every promise made. Did not communicate with me or the actual installer and wouldn’t allow me to call them directly. I called anyway and they wouldn’t do anything without a work order from Lowe’s and the work orders were always wrong. Spent well over $2000 to fix things they broke or threw away including paying my own plumber and electrician to finish work they didn’t do. The job isn’t finished but I gave up and requested compensation that was promised for months. After 8 months of this miserable project I submitted a 23 page request with pictures and receipts and they offered to take $600 off my $19,000 kitchen. I keep calling them and the poor people that answer the phone keep promising that someone will call me back but no one ever does.

I searched the store high and low for employee COULD NOT find any. I needed wire cut, once I found an employee he was quite rude and seemed in a rush. Id give this a one star but the boy named zack in self checkout asked me how my day was, helped me scan my goods ,and made me laugh which was well needed.Need more workers like him! He managed good conversation and also helped others needing help.

I had a discrepancy in some material. Contacted the store and assistant manager Kelly went all out to satisfy our concerns. This is a good store for us and will be in future. All associates are friendly and helpful.

We purchased flooring at Lowe’s in Buckhannon, WV. Skye and Bob went above and beyond to help us with our selection. Skye was able to get us a nice discount on our purchase. Caleb loaded the flooring in our truck and did an excellent job. Kudos to all three!

I walked all over trying to find a store associate. When I finally found someone I ask I'd they could help they said the worked in a different department. Told me to wait where I was and they would get someone. 15 minutes later it came across intercom that customer needed assistance I n the department I was in. I waited another 30 minutes no one ever showed up. I w o uld like to add my mom went the next day and a boy named isaac helped her. She said he was very helpful and knew what she was needing. You need to hire more isaacs.

My wait to get help was so long, I think you should hire more than 2 workers on the floor in Lumber. It's outrageous,won't happen again. I'll go to adkins in my hometown. I spent 2an1/2 hours waiting. My time is as valuable as any other contractor. Good thing you don't take my wages off. I'd get lot of money back.

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of lowes, in general but, at this Buckhannon, WV location, I went to purchase a hot water tank, and every single box was severely damaged for the one I needed. I don't know where the damage came from, but they should never have been put out for sale. You check online for availability and this is what they have available? I usually don't write reviews but, quite frankly, I'm tired of lowes providing inferior service. Only reason I use lowes is because of work. I would not at all otherwise. If I had two more hands, I woulf give Lowe's 4 thumbs down.

Every time I go in there I have to go hunt down somebody to help me, several times I've been in there and the employees didn't even know what I was talking about they had no clue as to what questions I was talking about. And one lady at the customer service desk I felt was extremely rude with me when it came to a corporate account she suggest I go and ring all this up at the register by myself, she didn't even know how to ring up a corporate account herself and yet made me feel as if I was lying. I reported her to the manager. I have to say the manager was very understanding and very helpful.

The store in Buckhannon is a very sad run store to the fact I do not even want to go in there anymore, No cashiers WHAT A JOKE loud music I thought I was in a bar could not think and I even asked 1 lady if she wanted to dance could not find anyone to help me. Went to Home Depot and with in 5 minutes the lady taken me right where I needed to be.

Convenient location, well stocked, a bit understaffed, employees are friendly and willing to help. Recently had a splinter go through my finger while loading lumber even though I had a glove on my hand, make sure you check the lumber you pick better than I did had to go to the ER to get it taken out.
