The Home Depot - Kailua Kona, HI

I went to Home Depot for some of my gardening needs. Ana was a very helpful associate, who took the time to accommodate my request.

Had a wonderful experience today with Kona Home Depot. Emma, Tyson and Chyanne were super helpful and very friendly!!! Couldn't ask for better employees!!!

I went to Home Depot in Kailua-Kona and was fortunate to meet and solicit information from Judy. She has worked in lighting for 20+ years and her expertise was evident. I chose to convert our old ballast driven fixtures to a direct, no ballast system. With Judy's help, I purchased everything that would be needed.
The first successful conversion made me return to Home Depot to purchase supplies to retrofit all the remaining fluorescent lighting in my home.
I am very pleased with my results and wish to acknowledge the tremendous help given to me by Judy. She is truly an employee that embodies customer service and care. Without her help, my project would not have gone as smoothly and successfully.

Early today shopped for weed lawn trimmer. Met Erica and she was 100% helpful. We bought all what we needed with her advice and knowledge. Mahalo Erica...

Talked to three associates about trying to purchase a new washer, all three placed a call on the intercom for someone from appliance to assist. No one came and we were not helped. We waited around 45 minutes before deciding to go to Costco and purchase a washer from there. It's unfortunate that they probably lose money from the lack of customer service. If you're trying to purchase any type of appliance, I would call first to see if they have personnel and items in stock.

This store is BY FAR the worst Home Depot I’ve ever used. And it’s not just a one time experience. It’s EVERY SINGLE TIME I order anything online for pickup. Staff is completely useless and doesn’t offer to help find the source of the issues. They just don’t care. Avoid the headache and just go elsewhere.

Called 5 times, they just hang up. Once person picked up and said how can I help you, once I answered she hang up on me. Update: The automated system is bogus too, robot said product is not in stock, but it actually is. I was able to get a solar battery/generator in Kona location and solar panels in Hilo location. People who worked at the Kona store told me that they are famous for their bad phone answering, but they're nice in person. The problem is stock is a mess as to get the full set of battery with the panels you need to visit both stores and calling/checking online is not an option. I added 3 stars bad for good working people.

I go Almost DAILY to one in CA. HI or AZ with my rentals. Constantly need something. Worst warranty ever now that they switched to Allstate. Square trade. They’ll tell you your receipt doesn’t have the correct register number on it. Takes 4 mos to get a Samsung washer fixed on hawaii island. Don’t give up. The square trade gets 60% to give up. I don’t give up. I buy appliances. Stair cases. Tools. Garden. Lights. Fans. But will not buy a single warranty from them. Waste of $$$. Get another co to warranty or buy from Lowe’s. The old HD warranty was easy Peasy. Not so anymore. I bring my dogs. Put them in cart. Shop here for hours and hours. Lighting. Outdoor lights. Solar. Fixtures. Wood. Nails. You name it. Spend tens of thousands here annually in 3 states. My second home. Rugs. Carpets. Flooring. Tile. You name it!

Location not so easy to find + outside of town + @ distant end. Better prices than competitor than Lowes.

Convenient location and good prices. Customer services are a bit lacking in certain departments. Front desk services are good, depending on who is helping you.

Cherryl who I guess is an independent contractor - was A+ in service and helping me install a Husky as I was watching....it was called in a week before. She got it DONE. If only HOME DEPOT could hire her to teach everyone in the store about customer service....instead of "Pass the buck" or "I do not know". I mean she deserves mention.

We bought appliances, carpet and countertops thru this store for a condo we just bought. Other than the diligent assistance of Kim in appliances, our experience has been terrible. We specifically purchased in stock carpet to ensure we didn't have to wait for a special order. We were insured more than once that our carpet would be cut, labeled, and ready for the installer to pick up. Installer shows up and no carpet! Out of stock, and now we are waiting another 2 weeks for it to be transferred from another island. Calls are NEVER returned as promised, so it's a 30+ minute process to get anyone on the phone when calling in. They have over $11k of our money, and after a month, we only have appliances. No carpet and no countertops. If you are used to mainland Home Depot...this is not the same! Plan on following up on EVERYTHING because they don't.

The Home Depot website advertises a truck rental for as low as $20 for 75 minutes. When I went to the Kailua-Kona store, there was a flat-bed truck in the parking lot advertising the same with a sign on the truck. However, when I went in to ask about the truck rental, I was told that the truck cannot be rented, with no explanation. So basically, the store advertises a service that they don't actually have. They did get me to go into the store, though, so nice job on the bait and switch.

Came to Home Depot today to replace halogen bulbs for under cupboard lights . JUDY was amazing in finding what we needed . Super friendly, efficient, and corrected hubby when he picked up the wrong ones. Saved us from making another trip back.
Totally one of the best customer service people we have had on Big Island !
We are retired retail ourselves or we would hire her in a minute !!!!

I just needed a GFI plug. No problem with a little searching. You can count on them to have what you need their.

I came for weed control film and black cinders. The weed control film was more than I needed, but the price was okay. The cinders were too expensive for my needs. We will get some rocks and make it work around century plants.

It was nice to be back in Hawaii to go through Home Depot. I found what I wanted. The prices are good.

I prefer Home Depot as my first choice to find what I need for home improvement items, cleaning supplies and garden needs. Home Depot is a great place to shop!

Home Depot very seldom ever let me down and the Kona home Depot, I love the fact that I can go into this particular store and get just about anything I need at a pretty decent price!
