Kona Nissan

My experience over at kona nissan is always so good the staff there are so kind and so welcoming. Today I took my cousin in to look around for a car and ended up purchasing a nissan sentra 2024. Also a big thank you to justin and josh for helping us thru the whole process made it so easy from start to finish. We truly appreciate the time and effort you guys have made to help us with. You all are amazing.

It’s a very welcoming experience, staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks Justin he answered all my questions and guid me through what’s best for my needs.

My experience with Jay and the rest of the sales team was a wonderful experience. They made the process quick, painless and easy as possible. If anyone is looking for a vehicle I will recommend Kona Nissan. The only downside of it all was when I was doing my insurance on my mobile app, I had to keep stepping outside due to the service recption in the building wasnt the greatest and when I tried to use their wifi their wifi wasnt working. But overall it was a great buying experience.

I bought my civic with Jay-Ar and he was very helpful. Cool guy, easy to talk to. If you ever go here, ask for him. The manager, Vincent, is nice too. Highly recommend.

I'm still upset and angry about the service I received and what I was charged. It feels like I was taken advantage of and ripped off. $217 for some diagnostic test. I went in with no issues with my car and left with all kinds of issues addressed to me - I felt rushed to make a decision and that it was just a quick grab to keep me there waiting forever. I understand that $217 is merely running the diagnostic test but it's an absolute rip off. Don't "OK" anything with them. Get out of there and take your car somewhere else where someone will actually care about you and try to genuinely help you...not take your money and leave you with nothing but frustration and penniless. Thanks for NOTHING Kona Nissan. Only a mahalo to the ONE aunty that was helpful in getting things moving in a timely manner...other than that this place is the worst.

No thank you. I no longer require your services and I would greatly appreciate my $217.70 returned to me.

For reference: the bottom photo was taken today...Taylor told me they said the brake pads were "dangerously low" and between 1-2 millimeters and that it would be approximately $1300, not including tax to fix. 2 millimeters is around the tip of a crayon...I'm not an expert, but that brake pad certainly looks larger than merely 2 millimeters. Again, I feel duped and taken advantage of by these guys. Don't listen to these guys, they don't care about you...they care about your money and how much they can get from you. Did you even take the time to remove the wheel and really look yourself?! Probably not Kona Nissan. Do better. Serve the community better. Shame on you guys for taking advantage and stealing people's money!

WOW! speechless. I don’t usually post reviews but I felt the urge for Nissan. I bought a car last year from Allen who handled everything with grace and is amazing with getting me the car that I was in love with. Unfortunately me and that car had to part and I went back to Nissan again for help. Shoutout to Noah who was my service advisor who handled things in the beginning and kept me updated constantly . Paulette , who took over at the end of the stick and handled with such grace, Taylor (supervisor), someone who actually listens to give options on how to help instead of those people who listen to give excuses. Vince (manager) , the man who was at point to help me with all aspects of my situation, and Allen , the man who eventually got me into another dream beauty of a car. Doing everything he can so I can leave with no stress or worry , as well as in style. Overall my visit was amazing. And I appreciate every single person immensely who was part of my car journey. I’ve never felt more at peace after a stressful situation. Kona Nissan is definitely a place to go!

Justin Corrales was the person who helped us out. He was sincere, honest, and very knowledgeable. His attitude with us was outstanding. We felt no pressure at all. This guy knew his stuff. Not only about the vehicles he's selling, but about the people he's helping. My experience with Justin was crazy outstanding. Im definitely sending family and friends his way. Mahalo brah!....

This dealership has been a nightmare to work with. They have had our company work truck for 8 weeks now, still have not been able to fix it, and have not provided a solution for us other than keep waiting or make a downpayment on a new truck since ours is now a lemon. It's clear they are in no hurry to get our vehicle back to us. We are now paying out thousands in rental truck fees as well as still making the monthly truck payments. Our company has bought brand new trucks from this dealership every two years until now. They have lost our business for future purchases. Stay away from this dealership as they clearly do not care about their customers or resolving issues in a timely manner.

2/5/25 UPDATE: my friend went to Kona Nissan because of being told there was a "recall" related to Rogue car keys. After they took the car into the back of the service area, they GLUED the keyfob so that the key could no longer be recessed inside the fob. This resulted in the key continuously protruding out from the fob, making it difficult to put into a pants pocket. DON'T RESPOND TO THIS "REBATE" if this bothers you.
If this had been known in advance, this would never have been done!

UPDATE 2/9/25: We went to Lowe's and purchased Goof Off! -- a solvent that dissolved the super glue and returned the keyfob to its original condition.

Kona Nissan is a fantastic dealership. I have purchased a couple of cars there before and the salespeople have always been amazing. The last time I went in, I had the pleasure of working with Marvin. He is very patient and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to find me a suitable truck for my needs. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make a purchase at that time, but Marvin keeps in touch with me and lets me know other potential vehicles as they arrive. I hope to purchase soon, and Marvin will be my go to guy. His professionalism is above and beyond.

Great experience at this dealership. They allowed me to take my time, worked with me on my terms and found a vehicle I liked. I drove home that same day with a brand new car. The employees were awesome!

I came into Kona Nissan to sell my car , I originally talked to Vincent his customer service is excellent and he got back to me very quick regarding any questions and concerns , when I got there Josh helped me he is excellent and gave me a GREAT quote on my vehicle and talked me through the steps, highly suggest having Josh as your salesman / buyer I did ended up selling my car to Kona BMW but I deeply regret it and wish I had went through with KONA NISSAN because Josh and Vincent’s customer service was excellent and made the process very quick especially while having my two small children with me

Just love having my car serviced at the Kona Nissan Dealership! The service folks are all really nice there! This time I had Noah helping me! I went in for an oil change & he leveled off all my fluids & checked & rotated my tires! He even gave my car a complimentary much needed car wash, too! Dave drives the shuttle & he drove me to Safeway & up to the DMV so I could get my car registered renewed! I even had time for a quick lunch at Foster’s!Kitchen on Ali’ Drive! Came in to get a car for my sister. Marvin was such great help and helped with so many questions we had.

They were super helpful and kind with the safety check process. There was a comfortable place to sit while I waited complete with drinks and snacks. And they got the job done in a timely manner. I will be returning.

Patricia starts your visit off right. She is sweet. The team works hard to get you out in a timely manner. You can shuttle to town but they’ve set up such a nice waiting area with coffee and snacks no need to leave. I appreciate all they do from setting up appointments, reminders, and great service!

I simply wanted to have a Safety Check done to renew the car tag. The job was done quickly & Paulette was pleasant to work with. I would not have responded to this had it not been for another incident:
My 10-year-old boy wanted potato Chips from the vending machine, indicating $1.25, so I put in 2 one-dollar bills, but I only got 0.25C back! I went to the nearest desk and told them about it. One by one, they told me this was not our machine, and I showed call the number listed on it & I was summarily dismissed!
I went to another office at the front and told them about the machine. Again, a sales manager and a lady told me that we're not responsible for the software! I was pushed away!

The issue was not about getting the 0.50C but rather someone taking responsibility for the vending machine at the Nissan Dealership. It was false advertising, and above all, I was a customer, but they all chose to ignore it and pass the buck!

So, if it's not too much to ask, can someone call the vending machine guy to come & put the right amount for each item?

1- Fox News must be removed from the waiting room. With 5 of us muttering at once a fist fight was only minutes away.
2- The Frontier pick up trucks have a wide turning circle. The trash bins etc at the exit of the service department are difficult to navigate and takes 3 attempts at backing up before you can make the tight U-turn.
3- The $4,000 prepaid service plans I purchased did not appear on the Service Department computer and it took 20 minutes for your agent to locate it in my purchase documents and get authorization for my first service.
4- The actual service was quick and friendly but these obstacles should be addressed.
5. My salesman insisted that I load the Nissan App on my phone. When I had questions about it, the Service Technician actually said that he's never seen one before. They need training with all the computerization you use.

Also, saw Tony Daub. He is the best!
Justin Corrales reached out by text and was able to see him in the show room. Wish I could afford a Nissan Z but am happy with my Nissan Versa.

Our salesman, Justin and finance person, Tony made the entire process effortless. No high pressure sales and smooth transition from the sale to the financing and insurance transfer. Highly recommend both of these gentlemen

Time to complete Service : excellent, right on schedule as promised
The only disappointment: they reset all settings to factory default without letting us know in advance or even telling us afterwards. The back gate didn’t open anymore , the sales person (Justin) had to go through a some of the most important settings and enter our preferences . Especially important for us is the opening height limit of the back gate. But Justin did a great job on somehow restoring the value we had entered right after purchasing the vehicle

I felt intimidated by the behavior of the front desk attendant at the service department. She accused me of incessant complaining and threatened to involve the police. She raised her voice, came very close to my face, and yelled at me. The customer service experience was extremely poor, prompting me to file a complaint with both the general manager and the corporate office.

Mahalo nui loa to Justin Corrales at Kona Nissan! Justin helped my fiancee and I buy a used 2019 Nissan Frontier truck back in August 2023. He really listened to our needs and wasn't pushy. at all. Even though he knew we were not in the market to purchase an expensive brand new vehicle, he still treated us with respect and gave us excellent customer service. He even offered to drive the truck we were interested in over from the Hilo dealership himself so we could see it in person. He stayed late past sunset while we finished up all the financial work and car insurance phone calls. He polished the truck and cleaned the rims and tires for us while he waited patiently and did not complain even once. We have had the truck a few months now and we love it! Justin has called and texted us to follow-up and check in a few times which we really appreciated. Nothing fancy but affordable, runs great, perfect for hauling and taking our dogs for a drive. Exactly what we were looking for and we are super happy! We will always remember the kind and generous aloha style customer service from Justin and we will definitely be back to buy from him again when we are ready for something new.

I traded in and got a new Nissan Kicks with help from Noah who was very helpful. Got a fair price and everyone there made the process easy.

We recently purchased a pre owned car with Noah as our salesman. He is polite, informative, caring and knowledgeable. He would make a mother proud! We were shown the car we inquired about with no pressure to buy. I would highly recommend him.

I've been a Nissan customer for over a decade and have always been pleased with the service all departments provide.

In 2021 Allen helped me buy my new vehicle. He was very helpful, friendly, and patient as this would be the first vehicle I was purchasing on my own. The finance person was also a pleasure to work with.

This past week my vehicle needed a service. I first spoke with Jennifer, who called to confirm my appointment and she was very helpful, communicative, and friendly. On the day of the appointment I ran into some issues getting my vehicle to Nissan. I spoke with Sirrea several times that day and she was always friendly, helpful, and had great communication every time. Once I finally arrived at Nissan with the vehicle to be serviced I met Paulette and the technician. Paulette and the technician were so patient, knowledgeable, and friendly. I was stressed out that day due to the issue I was having getting my vehicle to Nissan. Everyone that I came in contact with that day helped relieve all of that stress. They were reassuring and kind the whole time.

I am very thankful for the team at Nissan and providing me with excellent customer service every time.

This was a 3 year/10 year contracted order for our NISSAN KICKS BOUGHT ON 09 DEC 2020
we expected that our last check would go under that warranty, But no the Nissan dealership charged us $136.00 and it never occurred  to us that would happen, how VERY CHINCHE OF NISSAN AND THE MAINTENANCE COMPANY, What ever happened to customer service in stead of calling before the 09 Dec it is done after the 09 Dec so they can charge the costumer where ever there can.. It just show how very little the company care for or have the costumer in mind.

Paulette is awesome on taking care of my Frontier. Had a major repair on my 2015 running great and the 2018 issue on mileage now its running smoothly.

The staff is friendly and Paulette is a wealth of expertise! Whatever they’re paying her, it’s not enough. She always goes the extra mile and multi tasks like a pro.

I purchased a used Nissan Rogue Sport and I Love It. My regret is that I purchased an extended warranty and the service department here absolutely Sucks!! Without going into details of my experience there, they tell you it's going to take an hour and a half to 2 hours, be ready to wait 3. The manager in that department obviously does not know what he/she's doing. I went back for the same issue four different times waiting two to three hours each time. I may try the Hilo store, but my faith in that is null

I thought I wasn't gonna get a car but when the salesman was so calm, patient, and so confident, well versed of the cars he was showing me, I decided to get one of your cars. Noah was really kind and convincing although very professional of what he was doing. I got the affordable and comfortable car that need. The time I spent at Kona Nissan was well deserved. I LOVE this dealership!!! Paulette and the service crew have always been friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I had a 2000 XTerra for 17 years and my only ever new car 2017 Rouge Sport which was just totaled Saturday when a distracted driver rear ended me while I was waiting to make a left turn on the highway I’m awaiting my insurance settlement to begin the process of looking for a new vehicle and I will definitely be in to see what you have available Thanks again for all your support and concerns. Kona Nissan promptly took care of the issues I needed on my vehicle, and the folks were very pleasant and friendly to deal with. They followed up with me on all of the work done and made sure that I was happy when I walked out the door. Kona Nissan contacted me afterwards to make sure that I was happy with their service and when I had further questions called to answer my questions and concerns. They tried hard to stay with the schedule I needed and in fact I was the late one! Another plus was their shuttle service. Thank you Kona Nissan for all your help and attention !

Gary, the salesman was very forthcoming and honest during and after the whole purchasing process. My previous vehicle was regularly serviced at the Kona dealership, so when it was time to buy another vehicle, I already knew I was not going anywhere else!!! They have very high standards here!!!
