Tried to get a rental truck, was going to have it for one day and drop it back off the next day, wouldn't let he rent it because they had a rental already set up for it at 6:00 p.m. The next day when my rental would be 3:00 p.m. The day before to 2:45 p.m. The next day, which is 3 hours before the next rental is due to pick up but because of that rental they won't let anybody else rent it, terrible policy!

Ordered refrigerator and it was not delivered on the day as scheduled. I sat at home from 9:30-1:30 waiting on delivery. When I finally called to see what happened, they said it would be delivered a week later and did not notify me. The next week it arrived with the handle damaged. They wanted to bring another refrigerator another week later, but I was so aggravated with unloading the fridge again and with the whole process, I kept the defective one.

Recently, I purchased several bags of gravel along with play sand to get done my garden project. It was extremely hot, Sunday evening. Young man Jack who was working in the construction supplies checked with me to see if I needed any help. He seemed like working hard and sweating. Though, without any hesitation he offered me help. In the past at this very same store I came across employees who played tag with each other when it was about to assist with my purchase. I been buying material for my small business for last 25 years. I can say that Jack is real gem for this store along with few other people. Miss Elaine and Belline are extremely helpful as well. Thank you guys.

I would like to thank Allen, the store manager for helping us with the return of a Locco grill. After speaking to him over the phone, explaining the issue we had, he promised he will try to do the best he can. And he did. He lived up to his promise, and I couldn’t be more thankful. Good luck buying a washing machine that works.Mine wasnt installed properly, had to put magazines under it to balance out the computer.Then they cancelled the appointment to level it after I switched my work schedule. Then they wanted to reschedule the second attempt with absolutely no time frame.So I would need to take the whole workday off again

One of the worst managed Home Depots I've been in. Went in to purchase 8 skids of concrete at 6am arrived at 605 doors locked and waited 5 minutes someone showed up to open doors went to contractions desk no one there waited another 10 minutes for someone to show up told the gentleman I needed 8 skids 80lbs bags ready mix started to due the ring up but while doing so told me I would have to wait 45 minutes until someone came in that could run the forklift ... just told him to forget it I'd go to Lowes next door. All falls on management they just don't care.

I am converting my garage into a family room want a triple French door to replace the garage door. The lady at the Pro desk helped me find the right one and the door department manager also helped make sure we ordered it exactly as I wanted. Since it is a special order it will be 4-6 weeks before it’s delivered to the store. They were both patient with the time it took getting the order right and made sure I was getting the right door. I felt like a valued customer during the process.

Haley helped me in the store to find lumber! Then Jack came to cut it to my needs. Haley was wonderful to take me through checkout and then loaded the whole batch into my car!!! If you are going to buy any appliance and have it installed, hire someone known and trusted to you to do it not the contractor through this Home Depot. What they did to my kitchen should be criminal.
After delivering a set of new kitchen appliances, their installation crew destroyed the plumbing to my sink, stripped the supply line for my gas, put 10 holes into my cabinets and still only managed to get the microwave up with a single screw, and scratches my hardwood floors. In the process they broke the dishwasher and managed to bend the microwave’s metal. Home Depot won’t come back out for over a week and their insurance was supposed to be in contact within 48 hours and crickets.
I will never buy another thing from Home Depot and I think all consumers should be aware of the criminal operation the New River Valley branch has operating. At this rate it looks like I won’t have a kitchen to cook in for Christmas. I am beyond livid.

We bought a microwave, stove, dish washer and refrigerator and paid for installation.

Let's start with the microwave, is like a beaver chewed the hole for the cord. They only installed one of the screws on the top so it's bent and the microwave isn't centered on either the hole or the bracket so the bracket is sticking out on one side.

Now let's go to the stove, they removed the old stove dragging it on hardwood, scratching the floors, and stripped the threads on our gas supply line. The installer told us we needed to hire a plumber to repair it or he would just caulk it.

Next the dishwasher, they ruined the door, it cannot close. They didn't install the drain hose correctly so they needed an extension, it's about a 2ft run and 6ft of hose. It is "installed" diagonally, and not pushed in all the way. They also broke the drain from the sink so the sink now leaks.

Finally lets get the the fridge. They refused to install that. It was just a garage fridge. They didn't do it.

The worst customer service!!!
They delivered a damaged product that I waited for, they picked it back up two days later, then they never got me the replacement even though they told me it was all set up. I only found that out after calling them today, (a week later, on the day the replacement was supposed to arrive), after I had already waited 5.5 hours for the delivery.
Once they called me back today they still couldn't find a way to deliver the item to me today (as promised), but could have it delivered on a later date where I would have to have myself at home free from 6am-8pm YET again (for a 4th time for one order).
I cancelled my order, lost the discount coupon and sale price, and wasted days of my time.
When I went to the store last week to tell them about the damage and to request another one, there were 3 people at the customer service desk. They couldn't follow the simpliest of explanations, kept asking the same questions that the others had just asked, couldn't follow the directions other associated had just given them, kept telling me to do things that were just told to me to not do by their other associates (in front of them each time), and we kept having to wait on the associates to then tell them what to do again, just to have them still do the opposite of what they were just told. I kept having to wait for the other associates to be free again, to tell them the same things yet again!!! It took me over an hour before I could leave, and they still didn't have things set up. I was told that I would be called later when it was fixed, and I got a call the next evening telling me everything was set up, and what day the delivery would be on.....
On top of that there were numerous other associates all standing around me at the customer service desk, but not offering to help, which I found odd untill a handful of minutes later when the manager showed up to do their evening huddle with the store staff. The manager did NOTHING to help even though he saw his staff struggling and falling behind at the customer service desk. He was all of about 6 feet away from us the entire time, and was watching the struggle while talking to the staff about how high their online and store reviews were that past week....
I will NEVER buy a delivery from them EVER again!!!!!!!

Good store. There is plenty of stock, and it always seems to be clean. There is a lot to choose from, like power tools, hand tools, lawn mowers, appliances, and more. The only thing I notice is that with any store, it is hard to find help here. Overall, it's a decent home depot.

Just bought solid deck stain. Price for a gallon up 100% over 5 years. I like the Behr 10 year because it holds the color even after wet leaves and pollen sat on it.

I would've only given 1 or 2 stars because when I purchased a propane BBQ, I returned home to find none of the innards were present. No grill, no burner covers ECT ECT. However when I called they told me to come back down and discounted the price and made sure it was exchanged for a fully functional grill with all the guts. The ladies there were very nice about everything and made it right.

Customer service is still as much of a coin-flip since I left about a year ago. I'm thankful for the people who are helpful, but everyone else who isn't trying is just wasted space.

New associates- learn the store layout as best you can. It wasn't worth my paycheck when I worked there, but I did it because I enjoyed helping customers. The faster you are at pointing someone in the direction they need without fluff- the faster you can get back to your job.

Bar none absolutely the worst website for finding things. I frequently compare prices and stock to save on time and fuel The website does not give the proper product when typing it in the search engine. Says something is in stock, when it must be shipped to the store even when requesting items in stock. I refuse to put any type of app on my phone. They have a website, it should work.
On another note, the waterheater I waited for for over 2 weeks arrived only to get it home an hour away to find a nice foot long dent in it.

I can't believe that I was tricked into coming back to the same Home depot with useless seamless employees. Employess just hanging around talking on thier phone or conversing with one another and avoiding customers.
Tessa or Tess her was conversing and laughing with another employees. While I have to wait for 15min in the lumber section for assistance. And when I checke with her she's like oh the guys still operating the machines and I don't know when they'll be done. Yeh you couldn't tell me that early before I waste 15 min of my time .

Very good but online orders... why can't stuff in Roanoke just come to the local store in a day or two instead of shipping to me... like auto parts? Also things I order online seem to be fulfilled with whatever damaged goods people have passed up in the store. Things like lamps and bath hardware are consistently what someone's Grandma would pick out with an occasional modern or contemporary option.
