Very impressed with the ease of getting truck window fixed. Work was done neatly and very thorough in the specified time anticipated. Everyone throughout the entire process was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend!!!

Great service. They went above and beyond to fix my windshield. The technician was very professional and contacted me to let me know when he would be here.

I’ll be honest. I was not impressed with the quality of the work. I had a windshield replaced last month and the techs were very sloppy. The beads visible from the outside and inside of the car. The primer used to bond the windshield to the car is spattered all on the seem of my roof.

About the only nice thing I’d have to say is that the techs were nice guys to talk with.

It took 3 trips from Jefferson to Ames to get my windshield replaced. It was a very frustrating situation, and a lot of wasted time. The gentleman apologized, did a good job, and gave me a discount which I appreciated. I was under the impression that Safelite AutoGlass would come to your residence to replace a windshield, but they told me the distance was too far. I live 40 miles away.

Safelite is a great place to get your glass replaced on your vehicle. Thwy are friendly and the service was fast and the price was great. Cheaper than going g through insurance company. If I would have went through my insurance I would of had to pay the deductible. It was cheaper just going g through safelite.

The staff was super friendly, and let me know what was going to be done and how long it would take, and it didnt even take as long as I was told! They even cleaned my windows and vacuumed my car out!

Got there a little early. Checked in, and was helped immediately. Took a little over an hour to put the new windshield in and recalibrate it. Great work and fast! Wasn't happy that I had to go, but happy I went there!

Cracked windshield while on vacation in Iowa...cracked by uncovered gravel truck. Called that same day and had an appointment the following day. Great service! Thanks!

Tech that replaced my windshield had good knowledge of my Subaru and the safety systems that needed to be recalibrated.

Our car needed a rock chip repair and Safelite was our first choice. The process of scheduling an appointment online was great. Multiple locations and times were available including Safelite staff coming to our location. We chose to go to the Ames shop location. The text reminders and a pre appointment video informed us as to what to expect when we arrived and the repairs that were going to be made. The staff were friendly, professional and efficient. A positive experience.

Fast and efficient. Came to my workplace and did the work in the parking lot. Excellent value for the money.

Safelight made the entire process of getting a new windshield super easy. They worked with my insurance and did everything needed to get my vehicle finished quickly including all the recalibrating. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing their glass repaired or replaced in their vehicle.

Was scheduled for an in-shop windshield replacement last Wednesday. I was running late, when I arrived. No other customers were there and guy, who just walked into the building before me stated "I was about to call you". Apparently he was swamped, those no one was there. Said he could possibly get to my car by end of the day. Being from out of town, I couldn't wait around all day for a "possibility ". I left, but after reading the current reviews, I feel, the guy did me a favor by not touching my car, possibly causing me to have to come back and pay a lot more than I did today. There is a great alternative to the Ames Safelife shop and not too far from this location. Read the reviews before to decide to use this shop, wish I had, would have saved me a trip. I was a little late but it turned out to benefit me.

Safelite was a lifesaver. I noticed a crack one day, and the very next, they had it replaced. They also took the time to wipe my dash and vacuum!

TL,DR: Wish I could give 0 stars. Go anywhere else.

There were issues from the very beginning: first their site gave an incorrect quote of $550, then someone from the shop called with a verbal quote of $2300. I rescheduled to a few days later so I could get insurance involved. The day of the appointment I took time off of work to go in, and on the way the technician called saying he didn't have the materials to do the calibration for the repair and the best he could do was get me in 2 days later. Again, I rescheduled. The next day, I got an automatic email that I was all set, and that ~$650 would be due on arrival (my deductible is $500). I went to the appointment details and either a) someone manually added back on new windshield wipers and "rain defense" or b) the system added them back on automatically. I had previously removed both of these manually when I had the quote generated, and I had to remove them again. That night, I get a call from someone at the shop begging me to bring the car in sooner than my scheduled appointment at 2 pm because calibration with the crash detection cameras can take a couple of hours and they can't guarantee it'd be ready by the time the shop closes. I asked if 10 am was ok, and he said they still might not guarantee it'd be ready. So I reluctantly agree and say I'd drop it off at open at 8 am and plan to take the entire day off work, which is what I do. The day of the appointment I drop it off, 2 pm rolls around and I still haven't heard that it's done, so I call the shop. The technician answers and says that he hasn't even started on it. Not sure what the point was for dropping it off at 8 am if they didn't even start until 2 pm, which was my original appointment time. The day after the new windshield was installed, I was driving to work in the dark before sunrise while it was raining. I could hardly see out of it - it looked like there was an oil film that wasn't cleaned on the inside and outside of the windshield that made it incredibly foggy. I called the shop again and they claimed they cleaned it twice, and that I could bring it in and they would fix it. I decided not to because at this point I couldn't trust that they wouldn't mess it up. I ended up cleaning it by hand.

On our way to a family gathering a rock hit our windshield. We looked to see where we could stop along our route to have it repaired Pleasantly surprised, we were able to book an appt same day in Ames, IA (on a Saturday). Unfortunately, when we arrived (early) there was no one at the location. We waited several minutes past our appt time even, no one showed up and we weren’t able to get through to a real person when trying to call customer service. No signs or other indication they should not have been open for some reason. Extremely disappointed we were not only late for our event, but also without even having our windshield fixed.

This morning a tech came out to replace my windshield. An hour later the windshield was removed, my dashboard was in pieces, and my door sealing was hanging loose so the door wouldn't shut. The tech told me he was sorry, but there was rust under the sealing that he couldn't see before he removed it, even though it was clearly visible above the sealing line. Nothing he could do. Sorry. Then he poured a dozen random screws into my hand, gave me my radio antena and left. It's about to rain, I'm at work, and I have two children to pick up after work. The truck is not driveable. Customer service, said, sorry, tough luck. My advice, go anywere but Safelite. Have your drunk uncle do it with duct tape and a butter knife before you call them.

If I could do 0 stars I would. They broke the clips on the trim around my windshield and instead of replacing them glued the pieces down so if any cosmetic work ever needs done again they will break and need replaced. They also dropped something in the dash and it is now stuck in the fan motor. So no heat. In December. Totally unprofessional. The manager has yet to even respond to me after two weeks. Besides this review I will also report to Better Business Bureau. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED

Was quoted an hour and a half but it was done in less than 45 minutes. With drying time, I was out of there in less than an hour!

Very good experience. My windshield was replaced and calibration completed in an hour and a half while I waited. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and explained everything including their Nationwide warranty. Couldn't be more satisfied.

I would highly recommend going to Des Moines to get your windshield fixed. The Ames location is not friendly and super unorganized. I scheduled 3 weeks out to have an on site windshield replaced. An hour before the time frame we got a call saying it won’t fit in the van. So we set up 2 more weeks to go to the store. Showed up to find they no longer have the windshield!!!!! We later set up another time to go there and again they had the wrong windshield, again. But they didn’t find that out till after the old one was out. So they had to run to Des Moines to pick it up!!

Took my 75 impala there to get the windshield resealed.. All this guy did was put caulk inside the car (should be outside) and gave me a bill. Told me they couldn't remove my windshield to reseal it because no one manufacturers the clips anymore which isn't true. So of course rain still pours right in. Complete garbage service. I had to put sealer on the outside which it never leaked again. Yet this is a professional business. I believe Eric was the guys name.

Very odd: guy says the rock chip (small, <0.25”) in my windshield “looks filled.” Umm, no. It’s new, and I doubt getting the oil changed the dealer would fill it without telling me.
And, their north lot it full of dark stinky oily runoff (that I unfortunately stepped in). It hasn’t rained here in 2 weeks and it was sopping wet. He said “that’s just rain water.” Bull!!

Had them replace my windshield because it was cracked. A few weeks later took my truck to a car wash and it leaked inside my truck. Called to have them check it out. Service technician said I had a bad weld in my truck that is what it leaked. Never had the problem before the replacement. Took to the local body shop he found out they unhooked my drain tube for my moon roof. Sent paperwork to the store STILL waiting to hear from them. WOULD NEVER take anything back to this store!!!

Todd was very helpful, and my windshield was replaced quickly and professionally. Would recommend to a friend. The aftermarket windshield looks just like the factory one.

It was great being able to drop my Camry off in the morning and have it ready the same day! Replaced my entire windshield and it looks good as new!

Didn't have to wait too long for an appointment time, the people were friendly & explained everything and it wasn't nearly as expensive as I thought it would be!

Stained my leather seat after they fixed my windshield. Horrible customer service, and seems like they are drunk because their explanation makes no sense.

In response to satellite's reply- I have done this. I went back, and the manager pretty much laughed in my face and said it's not his problem. How unprofessional.

Very affordable and even dusted/vacuumed my car for me! After a long week of moving, that was very appreciated! Will return here when I need their services again!!! Highly reccomend

I shattered my rear windshield, filed a claim (super easy online), and got it replaced next day. Called around and this option was a lot cheaper than some of the other replacements. They even had their mobile repair truck come to my work and do it on site so I didn’t have to take any more time out of my day. Very happy with the service I got!
