Cyclone Contracting in Ames, IA just finished a major bathroom renovation for us. It was major because they had to first remove a very large jacuzzi tub and then build a walk in shower and linen closet in its place. Overall, Cyclone did an excellent job. The communication throughout the project was outstanding. The work was done on schedule and we were called each morning before team members reported to our home so we knew what to expect that day. The quality of the work was very good and when the inevitable issues came up we were able to easily reach mutually agreeable solutions. They were extremely responsive to all of our questions and concerns. We were very pleased working with a number of Cyclone individuals, including Dave, Milo, Rodney, Cody, Dan, Nathan, Traci, and Lori. We will definitely plan to work with them on any future projects.

My experience working with Cyclone Contracting for a bathroom remodel was wonderful. I appreciated being kept fully informed, their care for keeping the construction debree as contained as possible, and the workmanship. Love my remodeled bathroom. I'll be contacting them for another potential project soon.

Our experience with Cyclone Contracting, which was our first, was very positive and pleasant. We needed to update the showers and tubs in two bathrooms. We chose Cyclone because we did not want to use the bath and tub remodel companies advertising on television. Project leader Nathan is a very positive, accessible person who kept us informed each day as to what to expect. He is highly knowledgeable and experienced in construction, carpentry, remodeling, and adhering to schedules. So glad to have worked with him. There was a printed schedule and plan for each day, which was followed. We do not remember all the names of the Cyclone workers who worked on this project, but they were all experienced, professional, and polite. The standout worker is Milo. Milo is a talented, experienced professional carpenter who is clearly dedicated to customer satisfaction. Milo is a very detailed worker. Dave was awesome, too. We were impressed with the organization of the team. If additional materials were needed, another Cyclone Contracting employee would arrive with them, instead of our installer having to stop his work. All of the subcontractors were also very knowledgeable, professional, and polite. They arrived on time and worked diligently. What really impressed us was the attention to cleanliness shown by everyone who worked on the project. At the end of each day, all work was satisfactorily cleaned.

When we chose Cyclone Contracting for our project, we were told how much we would like the team. Dave, Nathan, Rodney, Milo and Cody all proved that statement to be correct. Our project was to build our dream deck/patio that offered both a screened in area and an open area. This project had been a vision of ours for years, so in our minds we had identified everything we wanted to make it perfect. Cyclone Contracting worked with us every step to not only create our perfect vision but to help exceed it. They created very solid designs, used high quality materials, met the proposed deadlines and used their previous experiences to help us improve what we thought perfection was. On top of that project, they even helped us with a bathroom remodel during the porch work. In the future I cannot see a reason to call anyone but Cyclone Contracting for the services that they offer.

From start to finishing and passing an inspection that left the City Inspector drooling I could not have had a more superb experience. The principal builders Dave and Cody were a delight and old school artisans of the first order.

Fantastic group! Just had them finish our basement and it is far better than I expected!! They don't just "get the job done". They go above an beyond and are willing to share their expert advise on how to make the space more livable.

The entire group is exceptionaly polite, professional, and perfectionist. They take a significant amount of pride in their work. Every contractor I interacted with was polite, respectful and more than happy to show me the work being done. Not only will I hire them again, I already have. I am a repeat customer.

We hired them to replacing our free standing pergola with a permanent one. After they did that we seen a picture of railing they have done before and decided to have them do that as well. Turned out beautifully.

I love my bathroom remodel! I highly recommend Cyclone Contracting. Tracy helped me narrow down design options, creating a calm and beautiful color palette. Lori responded to my questions very fast. The build portal was great so I knew what was being worked on each day and saw pictures of the progress. The entire crew was professional and cleaned up each day. Thank you Andrew, Rick, Dan, Paul and Rodney for changing a dated bathroom into a modern one! I also had an awesome experience with Barb for the new window covering. Everything looks fantastic!

What a wonderful team approach!! I called when I
needed help with getting a new jacuzzi, but ended up getting a new shower, and 3 customized mirrors instead. I had thought my jacuzzi was broken, but the plumber, Kenny, discovered it still worked!
Jenny, Nate, Lori, and Andy were amazing. The gal that took photos was nice too. The demo crew placed a red carpet protective padding on the flooring for removing my old shower. It kept things nice.
I’m now having “Brackets” help me with a customized, roll up, room divider to block the view of my mud room!!

Working with Cyclone Contracting was great. A small job of putting grab bars in the bathrooms was easily accomplished with their timely quote, followup, and installation. I highly recommend them.

Cyclone Contractors exceeded the expectations for the refacing of my condo kitchen and bathrooms. All three rooms look fabulous! Jennie helped me lay out the design, listened to my requests, and knowledgeably helped me choose materials. Nathan, project manager and Andrew, contractor communicated with me throughout the project, answering my calls quickly. They honored my requests and made me feel valued as a customer even when I had last minute requests. BuilderTrend App allowed me to monitor the progress throughout, since I was out of state throughout most of the work. It was exciting to see the progress each day through pictures. I am already getting ready for them to start the next phase, refacing my fireplace! High quality service all around.

We are very happy with the 2 bathrooms we had Cyclone Contracting remodel for us this past fall. The whole process, from design to construction went as scheduled. Their designer guided us through the process and product choices, and we couldn't be happier with the results. The construction crews and project manager were very respectful of our home and completed each stage of the project as anticipated. We also appreciated being able to see photos of the progress using their on-line tool while we were out of town. We would definitely consider using Cyclone Contracting for future home projects.

You can't go wrong choosing Cyclone Contracting. They are experienced, professional and have a keen eye for craftsmanship. We have used them on at least four projects between a new deck, bathroom and kitchen updates and radon mitigation. Nathan build some beautiful floating shelves for the kitchen and did most of the work on the deck. Next project - I am hoping Cyclone can build a beautiful child safety gate for my wide stairway opening. The office personnel is great to work with and they keep you updated on work schedules- so no guessing on who/when someone will show up to your home.

Very professional. They were very involved from concept to design to installation on my older home bathroom and master closet updates. Larry and his team were outstanding on a tough job. I had a shed attached to the exterior wall of a townhome that had to come off, a large deck which was not safe to walk on, and a rotting wall underneath it. Not to mention 6 concrete pylons sticking out of the ground - maybe to do with a hot tub? It was a pleasure to work with CC because of the skill and affability of the team, and Larry’s oversight was hands-on. Best compliment they received was from the inspector when he reviewed their work: “I wish all contractors did their jobs this well.” If you want the job done right, I highly recommend Cyclone Contracting.

We chose Cyclone Contracting for our remodel project because we knew they would be able to meet our expectations, stick to the laid out timeline for the project, and there would be no surprises from them along the way. Great experience with all of the Cyclone Contracting team on jobs well done on our basement bookcase and hobby brew kitchenette projects.

At the start, we talked with Jennie about the project needs and concepts. Plans were drawn up with a couple different options, and with a few minor tweaks, all were ready for the go-ahead.

One of the best parts was the detailed schedule showing the sequence of events with durations. So at all times we did not have wonder on what tasks were to be done by whom, and what was planned next.

Another pleasant part was the interaction with all the trades and especially the Project Manager, Nathan, who ensured everything was done on-time and went out of his way to make sure any issues and concerns were taken care of.

Lastly, another great experience was discussing the daily activities with everyone prior to commencing the day's work. The work scope and details were clearly discussed to ensure work would be completed correctly the first time (without re-work).

Cyclone Contracting completed the remodeling of our entire house - kitchen, 2 bathrooms, egress windows, floors, doors, and stairs. The praise we have for this company and its people cannot fit in a short review, but let’s list just several things other than the overall excellent work. The designs that Jennie did were exceptional. She anticipated our needs, gave us detailed estimates, and was very pleasant to deal with. We got an exact schedule on a spreadsheet, and Nathan made sure that everything was done exactly as promised. He even made the custom closets under the basement steps that are impressive and so practical. Lori contacted us numerous times to make sure that things ran smoothly. Other employees, too numerous to list, were kind, considerate, and friendly without exception. We even have a high praise for the other companies contracted by Cyclone.

We had a partial bedroom remodel with new built-in closets added and a remodel of the existing closet interior. The regular door of the closet was replaced with a pocket door, a better design and shelving/hanging system replaced the old wire racks in the closet, roll-out shoe drawers were built beneath the window, and hanging wardrobes with drawers were built on either side of the window. Dave, Andrew, Paul, Darien, and Jennie were great to work with. We love the remodel!

Recently, Rodney, Andrew, and Dave from Cyclone Contracting installed a stovetop hood and ducted it out to the rooftop. We were extremely pleased with their workmanship! The hood and a custom built hickory wood duct encasing turned out beyond our expectations! The new hood is working great and has made our kitchen look complete! Cyclone Contracting completed 3 total bath remodels for me. My experience with Cyclone Contracting has been everything I could wish for. I can't thank my design team of Jennie and Nickie enough. They have been so good to work with. They allowed me to be creative while providing expert advice/guidance along the way. Nathan the general contractor was phenomenal, everything was well organized. I was provided a Project Book with a detailed schedule. I always knew when sub-contractors were arriving. Nathan did a great job overseeing the work and keeping things on track. The subcontractors were top notch, Ames Tile, Thompson Electric and Ames Plumbing Supply. When the inevitable unexpected issue arrived, Nathan and his team put their heads together and quickly solved the problem. I highly recommend Cyclone Contracting and will be using them again in the near future on a second project.

The most professional group of contractors I have ever worked with. They showed up when they said they would and did the work they said they would do. Everything was done to the highest standards. As a result, our new basement room is a great new space for the family. The price was reasonable too. Don't even bother getting bids from anyone else.

These guys are great, seriously. We had our crawl space encapsulated and insulated, and a radon mitigation system put in. Our floors above the crawl spaces are much warmer, they were able to repair some potential cracks/crevices that pests could get in, and our radon levels decreased dramatically. They were able to phase the product so I wasn’t just writing 1 giant check at the end. They were kind, quick, knowledgeable, maintained good communication throughout the whole process, and we’re always on time. Plus, their total cost of both encapsulation AND radon mitigation was the same price as JUST encapsulation from another company, so we got a better deal than we would have elsewhere. I highly recommend Cyclone Contracting!

Great to work with. Project managers were all very engaged and invested throughout our basement remodel. Appreciated design ideas and attention to details. Always wanted to make sure we were happy and informed. They weren’t just robots either - a really good group of people who were easy to talk to, put you at ease, but without losing an ounce of professionalism.

I've been very happy with cyclone contracting for years. today was even better than the normally good prompt service. With the current 0 and sub 0 temps our furnace quit working about noon today.. Oh no I thought, I'd never get some one out on zero notice on the coldest day of the year so far. But thankfully they had someone out and had my furnace running before 3 o'clock the same day.. thank you very much!!!

I have done business with individual contractors in the past, but I like the larger structure that Cyclone offers with accurate estimates, predictable scheduling, workers arriving on time, and latitude of services. I also am highly impressed with the character of the owner and the workers. Especially the owner's quiet ability to listen to ideas and make suggestions. However, there is the issue of his dry humor, which is rather fun and shows that he gets the nuances of a situation.

Cyclone Contracting has been good to work with for plumbing repairs to our kitchen faucet, shower and toilet. The work was done well and in a timely manner. They also service our AC and our furnace to keep the units maintained.

I've been a customer with Cyclone Contracting for many years. They have always been friendly, responsive, professional, respectful of me, my property and home. When my old heating system started to fail in the middle of winter, they were there to ensure they got it working again and that we were not without heat. I purchased my new furnace and installed central air through Cyclone Contracting. They are a great company to work with and I am very happy with what the work and equipment they've installed in my home. When my old water heater died, I had Cyclone Contracting install a new one. I highly recommend their services. Now, I am looking into remodeling and will be calling them for estimates and considering them for my projects.

We recently had a radon mitigation system installed, and could not be more please with the work. The estimate process with Jeremy was quick; he was friendly and informative, and was able to get us into the schedule right away. Rod (who installed the system) was a great guy - very kind and courteous and did awesome work. Would definitely recommend Cyclone Contracting to anyone!

Had Cyclone-Rathert put in a radon system. The work was well done, on time, and no surprises. Jeremy and Rod were great to work with. The radon level was reduced to a very low level. They used high quality materials too. I also liked that they hired a electrical company to do the wiring and they made sure the system was located to be pretty much out of sight. They came back to test the radon level too/provided a report.

We are very pleased with our bathroom remodel project completed by Cyclone Contractors in April 2021. Jennie provided excellent design guidance and communication, including a day-by-day schedule so we knew exactly what to expect during the project. Everyone involved was professional and did high-quality work. Special shoutout to Andrew--we appreciated his attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond.

This year, before the pandemic really hit Iowa, we had decided to move forward with our kitchen remodel. This was actually more than just the kitchen, we were also wanting to re-do the lighting and wiring throughout the rest of the house, adjust a window size and position, remove a wall and rid ourselves of the classic 1970’s popcorn glitter ceiling that the entire house had. We had hired Cyclone Contracting in the past to do 2 bathrooms and were pleased with the results, so we decided to go with them for the entire rest of the home remodel. Most of it was the kitchen but we were ready to rid ourselves of the rest of the 1976 designs and layouts in the house and wanted to do it in one big project.

From the very beginning, Jennie and Larry were very helpful and patient with us as we walked through a few different remodel designs and options. We would not have ended up with the amazing layout and kitchen functionality that we have now had it not been for Jennie’s design expertise. They were with us every step of the way and I appreciated the detail in which the contract was drawn up and the ease at which we were able to add/remove and negotiate the line items. We wanted to be involved in the process and they made it very easy to do so.

We are not really trendy or home-design conscious people, so it was difficult for us to pick out the tile, flooring, cabinet color, etc. on our own. Having Jennie and the access to the showroom with no pressure on timeline or picking things out was a plus. We made sure we got what we wanted and were confident that it worked best in our home. They were very patient with us even when we changed our minds a few times!

Their carpentry crew led by Nate and their craftmanship on the cabinet install and all things trim were second to none. If you need anything in the carpentry area, Cyclone Contracting are your guys. Some things that we thought were going to be simple turned out to have all sorts of little hidden problems and they were able to walk us through all the options and did an excellent job pulling everything together.

As with any project, there were some hiccups on the way. Cyclone kept good on their word and came out to work on anything that needed some extra work to get it just right. This project moved right along, and we were pleased with the timeline of construction, especially considering all the unknowns with the pandemic. Anyone who has seen our house before and then after is blown away with the transformation. It truly is a different home now and we have received many, many compliments on how it turned out. I can tell you, if we were to have done this project on our own, without Cyclone’s skill and design guidance, it would not have turned out this nice.

We had Cyclone Contracting add a tub, tile shower surround and new floor in our primary bathroom. Once the project was scheduled, it went like clockwork and they were always here when they said they would be. Everyone on the project, including the sub-contractors, were courteous, professional and skilled at their job. Jennie is great. We are delighted with the final product.

We've used Cyclone Contracting recently for two major upgrades to our home. New wood flooring for entire first floor and new countertops/ kitchen sink and fixtures. It was an excellent experience both times we asked them to help us improve our home. I really appreciated how well we were kept informed of the timeline and the special attention to the finishing details. Both projects could have easily been a major disruption to our daily lives, but Cyclone made things easy and took care of everything. If you're looking for high quality work, honesty in pricing, professionalism throughout the design and sales process and crew dependability...I highly recommend Cyclone. We'll be calling them again shortly for bathroom upgrades, so I encourage you to get on their schedule as quickly as you can!

Cyclone did an incredible job on an extensive remodel of our 100 year old home. Their designer, Jennie, is nothing short of amazing. Her ideas, plans, attention to the smallest details were stellar and often above and beyond what was expected. Nathan is a master carpenter and did such careful and detailed work and he handled all the nuisances that were thrown his way with grace and good humor. Adam, Zach, Trevor and the rest of the crew were friendly, neat, and always made sure that we were happy with things. We will be calling them again for Phase 2 of the remodel!

The Cyclone Team is the best! Responsive from first contact, Larry, Nathan, and entire team communicated well and often, listened carefully, and made our kitchen/laundry room dreams come true. Even when I was indecisive or changed directions, they were patient and determined to please. We love our new floor plan and all the beautiful finishes. Cyclone is true to their word when they say "We aren't finished until you say so!"

We loved our experience with Cyclone. They completed a kitchen/dining/living remodel for us, including tearing down an old exterior wall and placing a beam to create the open concept we wanted. Jenny, their designer, was amazing and helpful. I had a rough idea in mind and she helped with all the details to make that idea come to life. The Cy guys were professional, hard working and respectful of our family space. Nathan, the project lead, was available and willing to communicate about the smallest details. We have already started another project with them!

We had Cyclone do all the plumbing for a bathroom in the basement. They busted up the floor for drain work, plumbed it, and installed a new water heater for us. They did a great job and were very professional. I felt the costs were reasonable and work was timely.

Great experience having them take care of all our needs. Great bunch of people and they do great work. Also enjoyed being one of their employees so I know how much they care to do Great work and make sure that there customers are satisfied when the job is done. All I need to say is EXCELLENT!!
