Seriously superheroes. We had a basement flood and we're way out of our depth on cleanup. When Jill gave me a call as the project manager, I knew immediately I could trust her with my home. She was professional, understanding, and empathetic.

The rest of the team was amazing. Even though the first call was late at night, everyone was eager to help and so nice. Daqwan, Thomas, and Francisco are such professionals and it shows in their work ethic, friendliness, and the service provided. This team is amazing!!!

They did a great job, a little slower than we would have liked but Brian Burkle crushed it. He always had our back every step of the way and I can't say enough how much I appreciated him during the whole process. Thanks Brian!!!

Dylan and Daqwan were absolutely fantastic. They came in and talked to me about what happened and then explained to me what they were going to do. They were very polite and made sure I understood everything they did and what to expect. They are some of the most courteous and polite young service people I have ever dealt with. I would definitely request them if I ever need such service again.

We use Serv Pro at my work. They did an unbelievable job. Brian was here quickly. Got things set up had a crew here. Everything went great very professional very clean work very attentive to the residence that live here. Just an amazing crew to work with. I would suggest Brian from Serv Pro and his crew for anyone.

Just after labor day weekend in 2023, I was an idiot. I forgot to turn off the stove after making some French fries for lunch. I had gone outside to enjoy the weather, and when I went back in to get something all I could see was flames and smoke. Over half of the interior of my house was charcoal.

After a couple of days to get my affairs in order with insurance and such, I contacted Servpro. I used their services for not only cleaning, but restoration. The cleaning was done out of Mason City, and they were amazing! Every single thing in my house needed cleaned. Not only the structure, but all of my belonging. What could not be cleaned they made a detailed list and provided me with photographs to turn into my insurance for replacement. The Ames office of Servpro was set to do the structural cleaning, but due to staffing issues, they were unable to get it done in a timely manner, so Mason City stepped in again to save the day and got the job done. With it being winter in Iowa in an unoccupied house, another disaster happened in this time. I had a pipe burst. Not only did they help me get the water turned off, but they immediately set to work, drying out the house to prepare for any repair that may be needed. Thankfully none was needed, but I had the water at the house shut off for almost six months. Six months, no running water, and a house full of walls and ceilings to scrub. They didn't let that stop them. When they drove down everyday from Mason City, they brought with them buckets and buckets of water to get the job done. Jessica was amazing to work with, and I can't help but sing her praises.

Reconstruction. That's a different story all together. It was a NIGHTMARE. Demo and rebuild didn't start, for real, until roughly August 2024. Almost a year. Between personal issues on my end, insurance issues, and Servpro's issues, that's when I was able to get a quote from them to turn into insurance. The day after I got the check from insurance, I paid my down payment to get the ball rolling. I believe this was the middle of August, so almost one year post incident. I started getting weekly update emails. Things were looking good, for two weeks. Then the emails stopped. I contacted my contact and realized I had been forgotten after the coordinator had left the company. No big deal, we had already addressed the Ames was short staffed. My contact apologized and promised to be starting again. I was given a finish date of November 1st. From the beginning of September to the middle of October I had no word. I had called my contact several times. No answers. I finally called the office after a week of daily attempted contact, I called the office. Within an hour, I had a call from Ty, the director of construction for this district. He stepped in, got the ball moving, and reconstruction started back up. Everything was going good again. November rolls around, they're still working. That's fine. As long as things are moving. Then, the conversations stopped. Again. Fast forward a week before Christmas, nearly two months after the date we were told it would be done. At this point I'm starting to get angry. Ty stepped in again and got the ball rolling again, this time personally overseeing the completion of the project. It is done!

Now, you may ask why I'm writing about the reconstruction being a nightmare but still giving a very high rating? Easy. Because of Ty. He took a disaster and made it into a positive. He got down to the root of the delay on my project, resolved it, personally took it over and got it done. Every single issue I have had with this company has been via communication, and it was acknowledged and corrected promptly, and I feel with grace. The work that went into the house, had a few minor hiccups, but they were quickly fixed. Loose screws here, cabinet doors opening the wrong way, little things that anyone could over look and were promptly addressed. And through all of our communication issues, I have never once felt like the quality of the work that was done was unacceptable.

Servpro has been a lifesaver for us throughout our ordeal. We discovered water and mold in our basement in 2022. Servpro came in quickly, kept our family safe with mold barriers while the damaged areas were remediated/removed, and worked with us on a timeline for repair work. They were patient and understanding when we realized the water issue was complicated and we needed time before repairing the drywall as we didn’t want anymore leaks.

It took us almost a year to figure out exactly where the water was even coming from. It ended up being two causes and took us another year to get both fixed and confirm no more water was coming in. Servpro came in right away and repaired as much as possible when the water sources were identified to a specific area so we could get back to sort of “normal”.

It is such a relief to have professionals who can help quickly and who understand the process, especially when insurance can’t help. Servpro even helped us add a dividing wall with outlets and a pocket door to the affected room. Our basement looks amazing now, thank you, Servpro!

We had a sump pump fail and sopped basement carpet on New Year’s Eve. We called SERVPRO at 4:30 p.m. and by 9:30 the carpet, padding and wet moulding were removed and the basement was drying. By Friday and after several return visits, the basement was ready for new flooring. The SERVPRO crews were so gracious, patient and helpful. So grateful for them.

The team was kind, courteous and responsive. If I ever need their services again, I wouldn’t hesitate to call them. I appreciate all their work and their willingness to answer questions along the way.

We had a great experience with SERVPRO. They came to service my daughter's house within a week after we called. All the employees were very kind & respectful due to the fact that our daughter Andrea (the home owner) had just returned home from Acute Rehab at MGMC in Ames after having a brain aneurysm on May 8th. Dalton was an excellent project manager. He was timely available for all my questions via the phone or in person. He provided thorough explanations and updates as the work was being completed & when the project was complete. James needs to be recognized as well. He work extremely hard & diligently to provide the best service. He was very knowledgable & provided comprehensive explanations as to the processes. He is a very strong young man. Both Daulton & James went beyond the call of duty to clean the mold completely out of Andrea's basement. We cant thank them enough for the job well done. We will recommend SERVPRO to family & friends in the future.

I had a bit of sewage backup in my basement and had servepro come out to sanitize. They were out within a couple days which I was super impressed with considering the storms that hit recently. Paul & Pedro came out and they were very professional and friendly. I’m excited that my laundry room is no longer dirty and I can go in there without feeling gross. Thanks guys

I do not recommend Ames SERVPRO to anyone! Not only do they have bad communication skills, but they will not finish the job on time when it was promised from the beginning. They would not show up when scheduled, but would show up on days we weren’t expecting them. Very unreliable company. I recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Carrie went above and beyond to assess our water damage. She even drove back the next day when I had a question. She was honest and straight forward - and I felt like she was on my team and not trying to sell me a service I didn’t need. Plus our dog warmed right up to her and that’s a win win in our book! We had some storm damage and our roof was leaking for quite some time. When we called Servpro to inspect the insulation and attic for mold and moisture they came within an hour. They worked with us and our roofers to ensure the best possible inspection of our attic and quality of insulation. Fortunately they didn’t find any problems with anything. They were very nice polite and respectful. They paid very close attention to detail. We would highly recommend Servpro!

I highly recommend Carrie at SERVPRO of Ames and couldn't be more satisfied with my experience. I was concerned about a possible mold issue in a few rooms in my basement and Carrie drove 2+ hours TWICE to come to my house and check it out. Carrie thoroughly inspected different areas of the basement, conducted an air quality test (consisting of taking samples in 3 diff. areas), sent it into their national lab to be tested, and cut out some small drywall samples. They relieved my fears of having mold spores in the air (there were none) AND the backside of the drywall was clean- no mold! Carrie was great at communicating with me, keeping me informed of everything that she was doing, letting me know when she would arrive and what to expect. And if my dog jumping up on her bothered her, she never let it show! :)
PS Had I listened to another basement restoration company (that had taken no tests and didn't spend much time looking around) I would have paid $8k to have them rip up all the drywall in my basement and put in a water drainage system that wasn't even necessary! THANK YOU CARRIE/SERVPRO OF AMES!!!!

The building we lease had an underground leak that came up and soaked through our carpets. SERVPRO came out to clean them after the plumbers fixed the leak and their results were amazing!

Carrie and her team were wonderful to work with. Professional and kind when working with us during a very stressful time. They understood the potential difficulties of working with an older home and addressed them. Always kept us up to date on the cleaning process and what to expect. Encouraged our questions. Unfortunately had a water event where the roof partially collapsed, 6" of water inside on upper floor and water migrated to lower level. The response from Matt and his team was impressive, they arrived the next morning, organized with a clear plan in place and executed! Our business was up and running again in 1 day, they followed up at the end of cleanup to be sure that we were satisfied and worked directly with our insurance to see that our needs were met. I would highly recommend this company, they know what they are doing, professional!!!!!

I have been contracting Serv Pro of Ames for a couple of years. Our use has been for commercial cleaning in several Medical Clinics. Being a medical facility in the midst of a pandemic, saying cleanliness and sanitization is must with little to no room for slack is an understatement. My unsolicited opinion is that Serv Pro of Ames is the industry leader and anyone looking for their services shouldn't think twice. When working with Matt Weeks, you know you are taken care of. He is honest, fair, professional, accountable, and available. When I had one single issue (which turned out to be my mistake, not theirs) he began investigating, planning, and implementing solutions within minutes of first contact. I have and will continue to recommend their services for all those who ask, as well as those who don't.

In April, 2021, our refrigerator in the kitchen developed a leak in the water supply line, resulting in damages to the kitchen floor and seeped down to a finished bathroom directly below in the lower level!
After a call to our insurance company, ServPro was contacted and responded immediately, drying the areas over the weekend with several machines.
Then we were contacted by the Reconstruction Team, headed up by Jon McNeal. He went to work organizing the different ServPro employees covering the various aspects of our damages and other businesses to assist in restoring our home to its previous condition!
We were "over the top" pleased with Jon and every ServPro employee or contractor who worked on our home!

Beware of terrible project management, nonexistent communication, and lazy invoicing.

Contacted Servpro to take care of water damage from the 2020 Derecho. The project immediately got delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. Servpro about a month working in my house but, somehow, they were able to drag the project out to last over 6 months. Their project management skills are extremely lacking, most of the work that got done was due to me reaching out to the project manager. I rarely received unsolicited updates about the progress. They damaged ceilings and floors that were out of the scope of the original project. Items in my house went missing while they were the only ones to have access to my property (they did compensate me for one of the items and returned the other after several months of me demanding). Then, when all the work is finally complete, they tried to over charge for the services they provided. While reviewing the final itemized invoice, I noticed they tried to charge me for reusing crown molding at the same rate as the room where they replaced with new crown molding. I also had to argue with them over a charge to replace an electrical wire that they had damaged during the demo. Had I not reviewed their invoice, they would have charged me ~$800 more than they did.

It has been less than a year since I got my house back from Servpro and I continue to find find things that they neglected to address while working in my house. I have found and had to repair 2 walls where mold grew and ate the drywall to the point where it flet spongy to the touch.
Now I am replacing the sheet vinyl floor that they failed to install with no bubbles present. This wasn't due to a lack of trying, they had every opportunity to get it right... they tried at least 5 times then resorted to claiming it was a problem with the subfloor. Well, while timing around one of the bubbles, I found a wood screw under the sheet vinyl... NO WONDER THE FLOOR KEPT BUBBLING. This is the quality of work they will provide and go out of their way to defend.

Do yourself a favor and don't use Servpro of Ames.

Jaxson and Zach were great help in cleaning up after a water leak in our basement. They worked hard to remove all of the damaged ceiling tiles and carpeting. They were pleasant to work with and got the job done quickly. I would definitely recommend Servpro to help with recovering from water damage.

Don and Carrie came over and checked out my attic after a suspected raccoon break-in. They were very professional even when a bunch of blown-in insulation rained down on them while opening the hatch to the attic.

Carrie checked the attic and took pictures. Don told me that the insulation was undisturbed and looked clean. He told me that no clean-up work was required.

Before leaving, they cleaned up the insulation that came down.

This was a very good experience. I recommend ServPro and would call them again.

Servpro of Ames was quick to respond for our request to have our facilities sanitized and cleaned. The crew showed up on time and was very professional and were very thorough.

I live in Lehigh and had flood damage the middle of March. I first called Servpro in Fort Dodge. I didn't receive a call back. After a month of waiting, I decided to call the Ames Servpro! I am extremely pleased with the quick response, the friendly and professional service and a job well done! I felt they exceeded all expectations! I highly recommend all of the people at Servpro in Ames!!!!

I never knew that such a company was here in Ames; but when I needed them they were there. Very professional, and checked everything, had such a positive attitude and kept us updated on the clean up. It was unfortunate that we needed them; but thankful they were able to come and clean up; and check everything out.
