I’m very disappointed with my experience with Leaffilter.

I signed a contract with them on July 1, and the job was scheduled to be completed by July 16. However, the installation was cancelled three times (July 16, July 23, July 26) for different reasons, and to this day — no work has been started at all.

I paid $900 up front (half of the job cost) by check, expecting professional service. But despite repeated delays and no progress, I have received:

No follow-up calls about cancellations

No updates on when or if the work will happen

No refund for the money I already paid

I called Leaffilter’s support team multiple times, and while they always say “someone will follow up” nothing has happened. At this point, I have cancelled the job and simply want my $900 returned — no work was done.

This is unacceptable business practice. I trusted your company and now I feel completely taken advantage of. I’m publicly posting this because I’ve been ignored long enough.

I expect a full refund immediately — this has gone on far too long.

I had been wanting to get something to keep the leaves and debris out of our gutters and also keep my husband from falling off the roof while cleaning them…so I was glad to have Leaf Filter come to our home for a quote. The sales lady was kind and knowledgeable and after negotiating a price, we signed to have them install their product on our home. We were told they had their own crew and that the product would be professionally installed. However; we had one worker come to our home today for just a half day to install them on the whole house…and after he left, I checked the roof and his install. You’ll see in the pictures how bad of a job was done. I immediately called our salesman and while she agreed the work isn’t correct, she just gave us a 1-800 number to call and now WE have to place a service call to have it repaired. I am so upset. $4000 for this product and it was not worth any of it! I’m extremely disappointed. Save your money and don’t get this product on your home!!!!

STEER CLEAR! Unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket and you're ready to overpay, then go for it. Leaf Filter (LF hereforward) and salesman Trever Cox are out of their minds. $7,662 for a medium sized house and detached garage where the gutters are on two of four sides. I spoke with an associate of mine who put me in contact with the owner of a home remodeling business which will remain nameless for this review (whom we will also be doing business with) who gave me three separate options. He typically doesnt even do work in our area but took the time to look at the LF estimate and shredded it. One option he provided were the best gutters, best covers, and lifetime warranty for well below LF's quote. The other two options were presented and we found were closer suited to our needs. LF, meet the customer's needs or at least give us options, don't dictate the entire deal. That is how you lost the deal aside from the absolutely asinine pricing and overly pushy sales associate.

As I was not home, my wife took the quote. She's an independent thinker and not dumb or a pushover, but Trever certainly tried to take advantage and line his pockets for a hefty payday. I work in sales, I understand commission based income, but good lord guy. Greed ruins deals. He tried multiple hard closes and even called back same day with the "today price" hard close in which no numbers changed, they were just shifted around. My wife was clear about multiple quotes coming this week and usbspeaking prior to making ANY decisions. This goes to show LF is NOT about the customer AT ALL. LF and Trever are just about lining their pockets and trying to take advantage at every turn.

1 star. Would give 0 if I could. I never write reviews but consumers should know what they're looking into. Do not recommend.

If I could give this place, and their business practices, less than 1 star, I would not hesitate! I was helping my elderly mother, whom I live with, by requesting a few estimates from different companies. The Hartland, WI branch sent out their representative, T. Aviles, who spent an exorbitant amount of time trying to pressure my mother into signing a contract that was not within her budget or in her best interest and was stalling to create tension and make my mother uncomfortable. My mother avoids confrontation AT ALL COSTS, which is why she has me to intercept.

Unfortunately, she signed a contract before I could intercede. Luckily, I had three days to cancel. The letter was drafted and mailed, Priority, to this man, and I assumed this was the end of things.

Fast forward a few weeks, and this man SHOWED UP at OUR home unannounced!!! I was mortified at his arrogance and became extremely angry that my mother let him IN OUR HOUSE, which is unacceptable, no matter how you slice it.

I believe the Leaf Filter product is worth the investment. We have friends who had Leaf Filter installed more than a decade ago and they’ve been very happy. It looks like the installation was done well and I look forward to seeing how the gutters hold up.

My complaint is this. The crew laid equipment and materials directly in my garden. I was home during the installation. I let them know what to do if they needed to contact me. When they first arrived, I offered to move my car out of the driveway if they needed more space. They said they didn’t need the space, so I was surprised when I looked out the window and saw equipment all over the garden area. I asked them to move it and they apologized, but the area was already trampled. They said they didn’t know that there were plants there and I should have told them if there were any areas I didn’t want them to go. To this, I have several responses. (1) This area is not near the house, so I had no reason to think it was at risk. (2) They had plenty of space in the driveway, as evidenced by the fact that they moved the things to the driveway when I asked. (3) I had offered more space in the driveway. (4) They should have asked before putting anything down where there’s growth. I told them I would be home and where to knock if they needed me for anything or had any questions. (5) Their general attitude toward the plants around my house was disrespectful. They took a couple of large branches off of a tree when tilting the ladder differently would have avoided this; they put the ladders down in the plant beds when there was grass available right next to the beds; they never asked about the garden area. Crews who do this kind of work need to have an inherent awareness of the space they’re working in and show a little more common sense and courtesy (ie, put the stuff in the driveway if there’s space in the driveway! If more space is needed, ask).

When I spoke to the crew leader at the end of the workday, he said, “I’m really sorry about that. We didn’t know. What do you want me to do, pay for your plants? You would be the first person in all my years doing this who ever complained about this.”

So not only did they ruin my plants at the start of spring and waste the time and money I’d spent putting the plants in, they made me feel guilty and entitled for complaining about it. I’m unhappy to have been spoken to this way, and I’m unhappy that hiring this company also meant a loss to my garden and disregard for what that loss meant to me. I would have expected better.

I reached out to the company about this experience and did not receive a response.

Had my gutters replaced last October. It was supposed to be a full replacement. The sales guy left off one of the downspouts on the side of my house. When I noticed it, the installers re-assured me that having one downspout would be enough. I made it through the winter. Now in spring, when it rains heavy, my gutters overflow and dump water on the side of my house. They want to charge me an additional $500 to install the down spout they left off the quote!
On top of that I had to call them to finish attaching one of the gutters to the house as they left off a majority of the fasteners. I noticed when I went up to clean them.
This gutter replacement was expensive to begin with and to charge more for something that was missed by the sales team is ridiculous.
If getting gutter work done, don't go with Leaf Filter.
Guess I'll be re-pitching and adding a downspout on my own while still paying off the bill from their mediocre work.

We were new home owners and VERY aware that we were in need of completely replacing gutter but were seeking a temporary fix/way to extend the life for a few more years. Inquired to get gutters cleaned. Sales rep, Tyler Trivette, came out and inspected. Appeared to be a nice and honest guy. We sign up for services and were under the impression that cleaning, new brackets, repitching/realignment of gutter to drain appropriately, resealing corners and/or any existing holes would be serviced. We have now had technicians visit our home 5 times. Each time for the same reasons...obvious holes and leaking, no replaced brackets, standing water. Attempted to contact the salesman, Tyler, multiple times and he went MIA. All the service technicians have been nice but every time they come out they state they have no notes/knowledge of issues so we have needed to explain the problems over and over. Each time techs come out and "fix it" and nothing is fixed. At this point we feel we have paid for a glorified gutter cleaning and were jipped. Paid an excessive amount for what...

I really like the product design, i expect we'll end up with lots of debris sitting on the screen, small honey locust leaves and shingle pebbles, but they don't do into the gutter. The sales pitch was very clever and suckered us into agreeing to the cost that was probably 4 times what it should have been. If we would have slept on the offer, I would have not agreed to the sale.

I have had the same leak looked at by a tech at least 4 times. Still have a leak plus two punctures in my gutter by I assume trying to clean all the caulking they added. Last tech came and cleaned out all the caulk only to leave it all over my deck! Been texts to the tech and service person who set it up. Nobody is getting back to me!

Got a quote in Sept. '24. Seemed high, but sales guy was nice and thorough. I told him I was flexible for install except 1 specific date. Of course that 1 date was the day he schedules my install. I text him to reschedule the install, he forgets to reschedule it so I end up getting a call from the install crew the day before the canceled install date telling me they are coming the day I will be gone. I repeat that I canceled that date and call sales guy. He apologizes and says he will get me a new date. Fast forward 1 whole month later and I text again about an install. I get an apology, he forgot, and will get back to me with a new install date. It's been 5 months. No gutters, no install date. Do better.

Got a quote on adding leaf filter gutter protection to about 80 feet of gutter. Sales person told me the "regular price" was over $5000! However, not to worry... he could give me a discount to $3300. Did I mention it was 80 linear feet?

After he left I wondered if this company has been bought out by a private equity concern. That's what private equity does... drive up the price of good products to maximize the return on investment to the greedy owners. I have seen it so many times before. Private equity isn't about people and products, it is about profits above all else. Nothing but pure greed.

Sure enough, a google search shows the original company was bought out by a private equity firm. I am going elsewhere.

I recieved a quote from LeafFilter and they proceeded to call me 3 times each day for more than a week. It rubbed me the wrong way and I decided to go with another company. No other company I received a quote from called me that much. I blocked the number and they proceeded to call from a different number. I felt like I was being harassed.

I was completely satisfied with work done by the technician, and he fixed the problem we were experiencing. There was a leak that developed after seven years. Leaf Filter stood behind their warranty and promptly sent a fully knowledgeable service tech. I called them on a Saturday and they sent out the service tech on the Monday following. You just can’t expect anything better when it comes to service.

My experience was wonderful. The contractor they sent out was alone and hard-working. He cleaned up after himself. The leaf filter system looks and performed so far really well. I also had him to downspouts and I feel went out of his way to upgrade them. I’m just extremely happy with the whole project, thank you

They might have a good product but they do not run a good operation. On the first installation date they did not show up at all. No call, no nothing. Impossible to reach them at their customer service line. When they finally did come there was no compensation for the failed first visit and the technican was poorly equipped. he had no equipment to clean the gutters and had no plan to clean them until I started watching him. He had insufficient ladders to safely do the job. Considering the price I paid the service should have been 10x better.
The salesperson was completely unresponsive as well.

(The leaves were getting stuck at the end of the roof. Found out we need heating tape in two locations in the valleys of the roof to keep things moving). Fantastic. Appreciate the help. Thank you.

Terrible product and incredibly aggressive marketing.
They had someone at a farmers market, he gave me some information and a coupon in exchange for my phone number- which was a huge mistake.

In the past two weeks I've received over 50 calls from these goons and they actually filled up my voice-mail.

After researching their product and hearing horror stories, I decided I didn't want to waste the money. But that doesn't matter, I'm going to keep being called until I give in. It's almost like blackmail.

Any time you think that a company is marketing really intensely, it's probably because they have a terrible product.

We were misled as to the people coming out to install. We were told that they do not subcontract the work out. Subcontractors showed up to do the work. In the process they drove through our newly seeded lawn upon arrival. Gutter guards went on fine but the pitch of the downspouts do not look aesthetically pleasing due to sitting on top of the guard with space between, which will probably cause rain to pour over instead of straight down. We where told all those adjustments would be part of installation.

Paid $10,000 for brand new beautiful gutters. It's been 3 months and the gutters have come apart twice now in different spots. I just called to have someone come and fix it this time, and it's 3 WEEKS!! before someone can come bring a ladder and reconnect the gutters. So I guess for 3 weeks we'll have water falling all over the side of our house.

So far, Leaf filter is not worth the price we paid

I had a rather good experience with the sales team. However, when it came due for the install, I was given three separate time window estimates. By the end of the day I was contacted at 6pm and told that they needed to cancel and reschedule. So here I am today, waiting for another entire day and I have heard nothing. I called the customer service line twice to try and get updates. Still nothing.

I can't even speak to the product because they haven't shown up!

Sales guy, Ian, was great. Explained the product, install, and financials very well. Gave a number of payment options to suit me. Installer was super nice and did a great job! Gutters look great and work excellent since getting the LeafFilter Protection System.

It started off well and we paid our deposit to schedule a date. The crew came out and said they wouldn't be able to put on our gutters because our house was too tall. They canceled our job and haven't sent us back our deposit even though we have called several times and each time they say that they're going to send it back. They have had our deposit now for a few months and each time we call they seem surprised they still have it and haven't returned it yet.

Have been looking for someone to clean my gutters and stupidly put in a request with this company. I have been getting nonstop robo calls ever since. I block the number and it just calls from another number. I can’t even tell them to stop since it’s not a real person calling.

The leaf filter covers have proven to be very effective in the years since installation. I recently had a new roof, and a couple of pieces of the LeafFilter covers were damaged or missing following the roof replacement. Upon calling LeafFilter, a rep/repairman was sent within days. He corrected the damage. And all for $105.00. He was a newer employee of leaf filter and said he was happy as en employee and and has noted that LeafFilter treats customers well!

I thought that lifetime warranty meant no fees at all, but was charged a service fee of $95. That is a lot of money for a service call. I was told that when I called for the maintenance fix, but needed it done. That should be disclosed at the time of sale. Also was not happy that when the workmen installed the screening on the gutters no one suggested we have an ice dam breaker ridge installed on the steep metal roof to prevent ripping off the screens. We would have done that right away and avoided all of this. Otherwise, love your product and work.

Professional service all around. I had been looking at LeafFilter for a few years. When Tom came to the house and explained it all, it was a no-brainer to decide to replace the gutters and add the filters all using LeafFilter. It looks great and now I'm happy to watch the leaves fall again! I can enjoy their beauty and not worry about the extra work.

Update: If you are interested in working with us, we would want a manager to contact us and provide us with the name of the local installer so we can check reviews. The reviews we read on this site regarding your installers are terrible and the term "local Installer" does not meet our needs to ensure that we are getting reliable service - again based on the negative reviews you have received. Original Post: I am interested in getting Leaffilter but the negative reviews regarding installations is stopping me. I tried finding out who would be an installer so I could check reviews on them in particular and Leaffilter will not provide that. Until I can find some type of assurance on the quality of the installation I am holding off

Hiring LeafFilter was the worst decision I have made as a homeowner to date. From salesman to scheduling to service, every step of the way was horrifyingly unprofessional. I had an extremely simple project to move two of the down stems that faced the back of the home to the side of the house. The project manager's name was John Gooden, and somehow the crew failed to move either down stem and just added extenders onto my existing down stems, resolving nothing. Despite knowing full well that the project was not completed as drawn up in the contract, John deliberately avoided my calls for weeks on end. When I finally did get ahold of John, he acknowledged the breach of contract, and promised the crew would be out to complete the job correctly the following Monday. I took off work Monday, but the crew never showed. I called the Hartland office, and they made it clear that John had no intention of completing the job as the schedule showed no installation revision at my address on that date. He blatantly lied and intentionally avoided my calls from then on out. I would highly discourage anyone from hiring LeafFilter for any job, big or small.

The subcontractor LeafFilter engaged for my install was amazing! Todd Smith, his son and their team at Regin Smithworks, LLC took great care to get the job done at the highest level of skill from moment one. They offered insightful observations and were passionate about their work all along the way. My home had a variety of unique gutter sizes and structures, including attachment to historical brick and multiple different roof lines. They problem-solved with expertise and took the time to get the install right! Special thanks to the subcontractor LeafFilter chose!

We had them installed 2 years ago and were happy with them. We had some gutter damage due to a landscaping accident. They replaced the gutter and filter promptly and it looks great. They were on time and the cost was very reasonable.

LeafFilter repaired our sagging gutters took out the previous owner's DIY leaf stuff and repaired/replaced downspouts so that we now have water moving away from the property as it should be and never have to get on the roof to check that.

What a nightmare dealing with these people! Almost as soon as these were installed we could tell it was a mistake. Been trying for MONTHS to get them to remove and refund. Our gutters are WORSE after having the filters installed. We've had icicles when we never had them before, we have water running BETWEEN the gutter and fascia, we have water DRIPPING from the gutters. So much so that it built up a deep puddle in the garden. See photos, can't get video to upload.
After two post installation inspections, still getting the run around. Now they're claiming there was something wrong with the house. Really? How convenient to determine that months later. And, the ID10T that did the last inspection left his binder behind with all sorts of other people's names/address/reports in it. MORON! Hasn't even figured it out he left it at house. Awful, terrible company! STAY AWAY!! ESPECIALLY THE MILWAUKEE OFFICE!

We purchased Leaf Filter in March of 2019. It was expensive, but we liked the lifetime warranty that was transferrable to the next homeowner. Today we noticed that some of the ends of the filter guard were lifting up. We called service and were shocked to learn that we would have to pay $95.00 for the service call. I thought we had a lifetime warranty. I was told that was only for the first year. I will never recommend Leaf Filter to anyone.

The system works OK most of the time. However, during winter weather, it seems as though the screen freezes allowing water to flow over the screen, making ice sickles. It is a danger where there are walkways in or out of the house since because of the weather, the ice Sickles break off, hit the pavement, and re-freeze, leaving dangerous, icy walkways.

Also, when it rains really hard, the water flows over the screen and onto the ground, making it difficult to stay dry at the house exists.

Had filters installed and installer left slop all over the yard. Then snow fell and piled up on top of the filters. As the snow melted, it was running BETWEEN the fascia and the gutters. Was an absolute nightmare trying to get the "local office" to respond. DO NOT USE THE MILWAUKEE NORTH office!! Had to call regional/nation service to get things moving forward. Still not resolved, time will tell!
