I was initially drawn to LeafFilter by their bold claim: *“Your gutters are guaranteed to never clog again.”* They promised I’d *“never have to climb a ladder again”* and boasted that their system blocks *all* debris — from pine needles to maple spinners. Unfortunately, my experience was the exact opposite.

According to LeafFilter’s brochure, *“LeafFilter will never clog,”* and any competitor saying otherwise *“does not understand or is unaware of LeafFilter’s unblemished performance record.”* They go so far as to claim that their FilterShield technology is self-cleaning and that *“no organic debris or shingle grit can permanently adhere to it or cause a clog.”*

Here’s what really happened:

After installation — which requires you to register and download your own warranty — the system immediately began to fail. The filters trap debris *on top*, which blocks water from passing through. Instead of solving my gutter issues, LeafFilter made them worse. Rainwater overflowed the gutters, causing damage to my home — the exact problem I had paid nearly \$3,700 to prevent.

When I contacted support, I learned the “lifetime guarantee” is full of loopholes. Clogs, it turns out, aren’t covered — unless they’re inside the gutter itself. Despite their written claims that debris cannot cause clogs, I was told I’d have to pay a \$95 service fee for any inspection or cleaning. If I refused? My warranty could be voided.

On May 13, 2025, a technician confirmed the FilterShield was clogged in several areas — and still charged me the \$95 fee. Just three days later, after another rainfall, water overflowed from both the front and rear gutters again. When I called back, they demanded *another* \$95 to return. No refund. No accountability. No resolution.

Customer service quickly became a dead end. After a few interactions, they stopped responding altogether, leaving me stuck with a costly, ineffective product.

LeafFilter’s marketing is deceptive. Their “100% satisfaction guarantee” is little more than a sales pitch. While positive reviews are everywhere, I now believe they suppress or remove negative ones. Only later did I learn there’s a settled class-action lawsuit against Leaffilter — filled with complaints eerily similar to mine.

I feel completely taken advantage of. LeafFilter’s strategy seems clear: deny responsibility, deflect blame, and dare frustrated customers to sue — knowing they have the legal resources to outlast you.

**Bottom line:** LeafFilter does *not* work as advertised. You’re better off hiring a professional to clean your gutters once or twice a year than investing in a product that fails, clogs, and leaves you without support. I wish I had known all of this before I signed the contract.

The installation process a few years ago went smoothly and we were happy. However, getting someone to show up to repair a leak (covered under the warranty) has been a nightmare. We scheduled someone for a Friday afternoon between 12:00 and 4:00, and my husband rearranged his work schedule to be available. The guy never came. We rescheduled for a week and a half later on a Wednesday afternoon between 12:00 and 4:00, and I took the afternoon off work to be available. The guy never came. Needless to say, we are quite frustrated. UPDATE: I called the number provided in Leaf Filter's response to my review. I was told that someone from the management team in the Alabama office would call me to address this issue. It has been two business days, and no one has called me.

Forget this product! Was told I’d never have to climb ladders again and less than a year later, I have water flowing over the gutters vs the downspouts. Called them and they wanted $95 to come out and inspect (never verbally discussed). Next they said I needed to get on a ladder as leafs or shingle particles could be blocking their product….this is why I bought it in the first place, TO NOT CLIMB LADDERS AT AGE 66!! Don’t waste your money on this substandard product that doesn’t work and the warranty is worthless as they charge to come out so not sure what the warranty is for…make more money?? Stay away and look for a quality product, this is junk!

This is the second home in which we have installed the Leaf Filter System. It has always worked very well. I have a high roof and have no desire to climb on it to clean gutters. In addition, my house is surrounded by trees. The system works perfectly, and I have not been disappointed.

The customer service was great. It was done in one day. and haven't had a problem so far with our gutters. They sealed up our wasp nest so we haven't had as many wasps. I really enjoyed the service thank you

I put in an inquiry on another site, NOT Leaf Filter. Since then, I have been inundated by calls from Leaf Filter. It doesn’t matter if I block the number, they’ll call under another number. They’ve called on over 10 numbers. Is this a joke? That’s harassment. If and when I do need gutter help, I’d shoot my own foot before I’d hire this company.

Sales representative was courteous and NOT pushy. He gave the details and let us decide for ourselves. The Installation crew was professional in that they were respectful of our property and toward me and my wife. They arrived on time and completed the job within a short amount of time. The pictures taken show how well they installed the filters. We expect that the warranty will be handled just as p[rofessional if we ever need it. So far, we are pleased.

The crew was very professional and fast. The product appears to be high quality. I'm looking forward to Autumn so I can see how it really works.

The team was very professional. They were friendly during installation, even taking care to move the birds nest found inside the old gutters.

New gutters are perfect, everything was amazing.

Truly terrible experience... The sales guy used outdated and pushy sales tactics to try and make a quick buck including fear mongering. He told us that our house/gutters looked to be at least 5-10 years old even though the house is clearly a new build and less than 1 year old. He pointed out several other mistakes and issues with the gutters as we were inspecting. He then INSISTED that my partner and I both sit down with him inside of our house in the middle of our work day for a 30+ minute sales pitch. He went on and on about how great their company is of course without any mention of their recent class action lawsuit. We let him know politely that we were not interested in a sales pitch and to just let us know the price. He was obviously offended, pouted like a toddler, called us "yuppies", and said that we clearly are not interested in doing the right thing for our house. He then FINALLY said a number after pretending to type some numbers into a calculator and gave us a quote for $7,800. We said thanks but no thanks and he somehow MAGICALLY got down to $1,750 with a "friends and family" discount. We decided to hire a local company with a higher quality product and no pushy salesmen. I do not understand why this company thinks these strategies will work and I legitimately hope they go out of business.

Everything went well. I had leaves piled up on roof. While he was up on roof, he got the leaves off the roof and there wasn't any piles of leaves no more

I had Leaf Filter gutter guards installed last year. There was a little bit of a mixup with the order, and I noticed this spring that they didn’t install them in all the gutters I thought we agreed on.

Credit to the regional manager Josh and the corporate team for immediately coming to fix the issue. I’ve been very happy with the product and they’ve saved me lots of time on my roof, which I hate. Thanks to the team and look forward to full protection from leaves and other junk from the tree next to my house!

It is nice knowing that I will never have to worry about cleaning out my gutters again and with their life time warranty, I have 0 worries. Great product. Great service.

Great product , professional installed , great team they came in remove old gutters replace them, clean up in a timely fashion .

They did not clean and repair gutters before installation. Gutters had a lot of grit in them and three corners were leaking. Called them about corners leaking and they came and sealed them one at a time. Never did clean out roof grit. Hopefully, I can get by with them.

I found the representative very knowledgeable, friendly and explained the ramification of leaving my bad Gutters in place. The installer was on time , answered my questions and did a great job. And the price was affordable.

This company has called me dozens of time in 2 days. This morning at 7:30 a.m. I asked the person what time it was where they were and they said 7:30 a.m. so you know it isnt business hours yet you're calling me to try and get me to use your company. Very unprofessional. I might have actually used your services once I close on my home but I can promise you I will never do business with your company after this.

The gentleman that came out to demonstrate & show me about LeafFilter was courteous and explained everything in great detail. Also the 2 guys who came out and did the installation were on time, professional & did a great job

Ryan, our Leaf Filter representative, was very knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and funny. He answered all our questions clearly and concisely.
The workmen who came out to install the leaf filter was very professional and kept control of all the scraps. He took pictures of everything he did to show us and he cleaned everything up as if he hadn’t even been there. Job well done.

Gave us a quote and was here the next day. Very quick and efficient service. We're happy with this service.

This company has called me 5 times in the last 2 days unsolicited. I have answered two of the calls and asked to be removed from their system. Since then I have still been receiving calls.

Reputable businesses would remove a person when asked.

Edit: This company has now called me a total of 9 times unsolicited. I have answered 3 total calls and told them to add me to the DNC list and they clearly have not.

Fast and friendly service. No pushy sales representatives. They come to your home measure what you need and show you their product. They also offer financing on their products. The installers came over a few days after our first meeting and had the job completed in less than 3 hours. They did a wonderful job at putting the leaf filters on. They also cleaned and resealed the existing gutters. They cleaned up as they went. They left No Mess behind. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Every time says going to send. Everyone works out of their house ca not get a hold of anyone with company. Satisfied with product however Noone except people at home. Called one time with kid screaming not too professional only want my warranty sent to me whats so hard about that. They sure got my money. Wouldn't reccomend due to their customer service

They were very responsive for both the installation and solution of a minor issue that developed (just needed to seal one end cap). They were able to install the next week after the initial consultation. The crew were very professional and completed install on a rather complex roof including a 3rd story section in about 6 hours. Also fixed a gutter design issue that was causing problems. When one gutter leaked, they sent a crew from a state away a couple of days later to fix the issue. Looks great (invisible from below).

These people are extremely rude. Came into Lowe's in Nashville and they had a lady standing outside harassing customers about their leaf filter gutter guard as they entered the store. I informed the lady I do home improvement and can come into the store and buy a gutter guard for way less. She rudely told me to "save yourself the trouble and don't waste your breath, I don't wanna hear it." I then told her she didn't have to be rude about it. She then screamed at me saying sarcastically " bye yaah, have a great day." Very rude people.

Incredibly high pressure sale. Spent 2 hours in my home giving me the longest pitch on gutters before giving me a price. Felt exactly like a scam car sales pitch. They start by giving you an absolutely unbelievably astronomical quote and then tell you all the specials and deals they will give you BUT ONLY if you sign right then and there. Decide now, or no deal. That is not the kind of business I will ever make a deal with.

Gave them 3 stars to be fair to the fact that I didn't actually use their product and I am strictly rating the sales experience. I will also say that they were timely and polite (other than lack of respect for my time).

Had leaf filter installed several month's back and had an issue with install. Once I called to notify them with the issue, Jeff was very prompt in finding a solution to the problem and scheduled the repair immediately! I would highly recommend using these services if you want professional manners and quality work, along with a great product!

We installed Leaf Filter in the fall. Our roof is only a few years old. Before we bought Leaf Filter we asked about ice damming problems, because we heard it can be a problem with this type of product. We were assured there would be none.

Surprise! With the first snowfall, we had ice damming that caused water to come into an interior room. When we called to complain, we were referred to a 'technician'. He was clearly reading off of a script, claimed that Leaf Filter was not responsible, and wouldn't listen to a word that I said.

This was very unprofessional. Buyer beware.

I had my LeafFilters installed two years ago. Enoch is the LeafFilter service agent that recently came to my home to fix a gutter-related problem. He was courteous, professional, efficient, and highly competent. I highly recommend LeafFilter. They provide great service even after your filters are installed!!!!!!!!

In October of 2021 we signed a contract for Leafilter to install gutter covers at our home in Mt Pleasant TN.
“ Long Story Short” they did a terrible job, left some areas uncovered. When they declined our request for a refund we sued them in Maury County small claims court. During the hearing, their lawyer introduced a Customer Satisfaction Form that I did not sign. Judge Sands awarded us a 50% refund plus court costs. Now, we are suing Leafilter again, this time for defrauding us. It’s a shame that a national company resorts to fraud in order to hide their poor workmanship.

Leaf Filter was scheduled quickly (within the week,)took one guy two hours or less. All done to my complete satisfaction! I highly recommend this service!!!

Our salesman was very friendly and answered all of our questions. Our installers were awesome. This company did everything that they said that they would do and the estimate and install was spot on. I will make another review later after I have time to see if leaffilters work as promised.

Run don't walk away from this company! We had them install gutters in Ridgely Tennessee and they were there within 2 days to do the job...but maybe that is because they don't get paid till it is done. It is to bad the installers had no clue what they were doing. Half the gutters were level so they did not drain downhill to the spouts. The other half actually drained in the wrong direction! They ran screws into metal facing over wood and pulled the metal away from the wood. They wacked NAILS into brick facing to hold the downspouts and some immediately came loose. The list of poor workmanship goes on. Remember how fast they came to install? When I complained about the problems and even sent pictures and videos it still took WEEKS to get someone out here to fix it. They did the absolute minimum and it still isn't right. For $4500 dollars you expect it done right. RUN DON"T WALK AWAY!

My inquiry call to LeafFilter was returned promptly, and the representative arrived exactly as scheduled. He was prepared and knowledgeable, pleasant and professional. The installation was the same. The cleanup was complete. We are very happy with the product.

Sales person was very knowledgeable and one I decided to have the product installed, it was done on the day they said it would be done.
