Cannot say enough good things about Fire and Stone Design! We met with Steve on a Saturday morning and he was so informative about our options. I started having second thoughts (the next day) on which type of fireplace we should build. But I decided to call Steve, and he explained everything again in detail and with more drawings . It became much clearer to me and put my mind at ease. So glad we went with the full floor to ceiling stone! At installation, there was an issue with the incorrect mantle being installed. Tim responded right away and called me personally to apologize. He was able to replace the mantle with the correct one the very next day. We were so very impressed with this company and how they really care about their work and give excellent customer service. We just LOVE our new fireplace! Thank you!!!

I had been to every fireplace retailer in southeastern Wisconsin....at least 2x. Came here and this was the place. The owner Steve happened to be there when I stopped in. He helped guide me in choosing the best fire place and walked me through all the details. No hard sell, transparent pricing, and very responsive. I had a private contractor do most of the work but Steve and his team did the install. Great quality and the installers went above and beyond in further explaining do's/ don'ts and let me know important details to be mindful of. Highly recommend.

We've worked with Fire and Stone design twice and are very happy with both projects. The first was for a high-efficiency wood burning fireplace insert, and the second was more extensive: we removed an existing gas fireplace and surrounding cabinets, and replaced with a freestanding wood stove. Both look and perform great! We will be using them for service and flue cleanings moving forward.

Fire & Design did a great job of helping us service our fire place. Scheduling was easy, and Austin did a fantastic job of educating us, and helping us with our needs. I would recommend them for any fire place project that comes up.

Can’t say much. We were ghosted. Asked for a quote on either fixing or replacing a gas fireplace, including the tile around it, and doing some tuck-pointing on the house. A guy came out and looked at what we wanted to do. We were promised a quote, but it never showed up. We contacted him and he was supposedly in the hospital, so we waited. Asked again for a quote, and he claimed he sent it. Went back and forth with him claiming he sent the quote and us never receiving it. Finally, he said he would let us know when he was in the office and we could meet him there and get the quote. You guessed it. He never called or texted to arrange the meeting.

Austin did a much-needed fireplace inspection and cleaning. He was courteous, explained things thoroughly and did his work quickly and efficiently. I even got to see the video inspection of the chimney and it was spotless after he finished. Hope we get Austin again next year!

So very pleased with fire place insert installed by David with Fire and Stone Design. David is an amazing installer and the fire place insert is beautiful , warm and quiet. Thank you for a great experience.

Called them for a tune up on my gas fireplace and was not dissapointed. The guy was very smart and professional and it was a great experience. I learned so much about our fireplace! Highly recomend

Our Kozy fireplace finally wore out after 40 years, time for a replacement. We contacted Fire and Stone. Steve and his team explained the options based on our current setup. From the removal of the old fireplace, to the installation of the new Lopi wood insert, Fire and Stone did a great job. This is a group of highly skilled, professional craftsman. I'm extremely satisfied with the new fireplace, and would definitely recommend Fire and Stone!

Great company! They were able to work with my schedule and change the appointment without issue. Deric was on time, kind, and went straight to work on our fireplace. He fixed the issue and also improved the appearance of the gas fireplace overall. Highly recommend hiring Fire and Stone Design for all your fireplace issues.

EDIT: The company got back in touch with me and explained the sales person who I worked with is no longer with the company. I'm giving them a second chance at a quote. I will update the review once we work that out.

I scheduled maintenance and a quote for repairs and cosmetic updates. The maintenance was great (not performed by Fire and Stone design - they subcontract that work out to another company). The sales person visited and we discussed what I would like. It's been over a month. I called to see if there's an update. The person who answered the phone said there is no quote for me. I called the number on the sale person's business card. No response. I tried calling back the office. No answer. I understand this is a busy time, but all i want is to know when I might receive a quote for the work.

I had them complete the work. The people who did the actual work were fantastic. It’s everything I asked for and it looks amazing. However, everything else was a disaster. Communication was confusing. I got an email apologizing for not being able to come the next day even though I hadn’t scheduled anything for that day. They told me they talked with the person who assessed the initial repairs needed, but they didn’t. I got email intended for another customer. They pulled away the person doing the actual work mid-job to do another job turning a 3-4 day job into a week. I would not advise using this company due to the frustrating communication. Once again, the work is beautiful but every time I look at it, I’m reminded of the terrible experience it was of getting it done.

We recently replaced our roof and gutters only to find out our chimney was deteriorating! We called in several companies and everyone gave a quote from the ground except for Fire & Stone! They had a guy go up, take photos, explain to us what was going on and what it would cost. They were careful of our new roof, new gutters, a very special tree out front :) Everyone from sales to clean up was professional, clean, and respectful of our property and goals! Would like to give a shout out to the guy who built the form he captured my vision to a tee! The only way I could have possibly been happier is if they did it for free!

Great people to work with! Happy with both fireplaces, especially the Mendota, which is in our main living area. From sales to scheduling to installation, very professional experience. Definitely would recommend.

Deric did an amazing job cleaning my fireplace and checking things over. He spent three hours working on it and did a very thorough job!!

Fire and Stone Design was recommended to me by a roofing contractor working on the house. I needed to have my Lopi Liberty stove installed. After talking to Steve at Fire and Stone Design I was completely at ease. He was straight forward and honest. Steve knew my stove and what it needed for installation. He was able to explain the parts needed and the chimney installation process in a clear and understandable way. The crew arrived at 9 AM, they were friendly, considerate and went about their business. They were careful, polite, with a sense of humor. They cleaned up after themselves. They were done in a half day. The chimney is plumb, connections are tight and secure, The connector box through the joists is lined up and square. It looks like a professional job, because it was.
I would not hesitate to recommend Fire and Stone Design to anyone that will stand still and listen. I called them all in the area, and I made the right decision with Fire and Stone Design.

What was kind of always an eyesore is now a beautiful focal point and conversation piece thanks to Fire & Stone Design. From the perfect color of natural stone to the original 1800s barn beam mantle we couldn't be happier with how this turned out. Great customer service as well! Definitely check them out if you're looking for any work done.

Steve and his team did an amazing job. They helped us pick out stone and wood that worked with our decor. Our fireplace really makes a statement! His team were also extremely neat and clean! Would highly recommend them!

Our fireplace project included stone refacing, new hearth, and cleaning/maintenance of the fireplace insert. The project turned out exactly as we had imagined. Steve and his team were professional and courteous through the process. A few revisions were required midstream, but they remained focused on delivering a project we had anticipated. Steve even met with me at a stone quarry to assist in stone selection for our uniquely sized hearth. Additionally James, our salesman, was very pleasant to work with and followed through with communication whenever I had questions or concerns. I highly recommend them for fireplace services.
