I am not a DIYer. But, I decided to become one to fix my garden bed. I have an idea of what I wanted to do to fix it and I needed lumber. I went to Home Depot because they know lumber. Mind you, I'm a one-person DIYer working on a small job-most places would tell me good luck, cut your own. Not at Home Depot. It was no problem for Dan in the lumber department. He went above and beyond to help me get what I needed for a successful project.

AND I met Jeremy. If you haven't met Jeremy yet, he's the best. He is friendly and kind and lends a lot to the Home Depot Bozeman experience. He's Bozeman famous.

Ordered ladder delivered because crew had no way to haul. The delivery people picked up damaged ladder.filed a report and then delivered it. Homedepot will not replace unless I get damaged ladder back to store (no way to do that) or I have to purchase another one and then try to get damaged back then they will refund money which takes 7 days.

I special ordered a window on April 22, 2025 and was assured It would be available for pick up in 21 days. 5 weeks later I was informed Home Depot had the window. When I arrived to get the window, it could not be found but they would look into the problem. Today, 4 weeks later, I was told the window was found. But upon receipt it was discovered that the window was made incorrectly, so it had to be returned. Upon reordering the same window I has informed I had to pay an additional 16% because the price of the window had increased since its original order date.

Just want to say that Jacob and Clemintine were absolutely the best help. Clementine guided me exactly where I needed to go and got Jacob to help me. Jacob was fantastic!! He helped me put a new end on my weedeater and was so knowledgeable about it. I worked in service industry for 40 years and I want to say these 2 were perfect!!! Thank you!!!

My husband and I came to Home Depot to purchase a brand new fridge and range. The customer service there was awful. The female employee was not very nice and did not care to be bothered. When we did locate something on the floor that we liked, she told us they don’t carry anything in stock and their delivery was a week out or more. We had lots of money to spend on our new appliances but decided to go across the street to Lowe’s where we were well, taken care of! They had everything in stock same day that we needed! Do yourself a favor and go to Lowe’s instead of Home Depot!

Non-existent customer service. Waited 45 minutes for assistance after asking the customer service desk twice. Only reason I needed help was to access their rolled bulk carpeting/flooring. After 2 failed pages and 4 employees walk by and ignore my attempts to get their attention I left for Lowes. In and out in less than 10 minutes there. I'd compare Bozeman Home Depot Customer service to Wal-Mart...but that would be an insult to Wal-Mart.

Terrible customer service. I went with my mom to buy, deliver, and install a screen door. the first employee we talked to directed us to the help desk, then the help desk directed us to the pro desk, and there was no one at the pro desk. We finally just went to Lowe's, which had way more helpful employees.

When I purchased some accessories for a new Ridgid shop vac on line, Home Depot offered to deliver them immediately at no additional charge. Sounded good! However, the car that delivered the purcase left a trail of motor oil the length of the driveway and a pool of oil where it stopped to deliver the item. When I contacted Home Depot about the damage, the manager blamed their contractor, Roadie, but she did file an insurance claim. A week later, a different manager confirmed the filing of the claim and said that he would get back to me with an update on when someone would fix the problem. I never heard from him. I week later, I spoke to a third manager. He gave me the claim number and told me to contact the insurance company myself. I am not a customer of the insurance company, so obviously they were not going to respond. Nevertheless, I spent 15 minutes on hold before someone came on the line to take my contact information with the assurance that someone would be in touch within 24 hours. That was two weeks ago. Needless to say, I never heard from them. Home Depot is responsible for the damage to my driveway so obviously they should fix it. Nevertheless, they are evidently going to stick me with the project and the expense. Their dereliction is disgraceful.

Update: I followed the link provided by Home Depot below with the promise that "We would love to assist with finding a resolution". The "assistance" that they offered was to tell me to call the insurance company myself. Anyone who actually reads my account above will know that I already contacted the insurance company two weeks ago to no avail. Once again, Home Depot has refused to do anything to fix the damage that they caused.

Update (4 May 2025): Yesterday marked 2 months since a Home Depot delivery vehicle damaged our driveway. In that time, Home Depot has done absolutely nothing to address the damage. They ascribe all remedial power to their insurance company, and the insurance company stonewalls. I am now preparing to have the damage repaired at my own expense. It appears that my only hope for justice in this case will be legal action.

Update (3 June 2025): Home Depot finally paid for the damage they caused to our driveway. It took 87 days and a threat to file a complaint with the Montana Office of Consumer Protection.

I visit the Home Depot in Bozeman, MT almost daily. In the past few months Home Depot has been hiring non-english speaking associates that when I ask for help have no idea what Im talking about (plumbing and gas fittings recently). Today I left the parking lot and saw a homeless man living in a display shed in the parking lot. I called the Bozeman Location 4 times and everytime it rang until it automatically hung up on me. I finally called law enforcement to remove the homeless man. Really need better management at this location.

Tanya and Brent helped me out recently and it was a fantastic experience. My business partner peed on an interior pillar and not only were they quick to assure they had no problem cleaning it, they helped me with a speedy checkout, tossed him a treat, and and gifted me an opportunity to witness and receive real compassion. One of your employees I know personally he's a friend of my son and my sons sister died and he won't give me his place of redidenceny iam very hurt by this I was married to his dad who wears very abusive and I let and my son sister just passed on new years . He needs to do the right thing . He not who he portrays who he is. THE WORST PRO DESK I HAVE EVR HAD!! If you are a contractor do not use this location. I have called the pro desk for 4 weeks now 18 calls. 18 Voicemails, no answers the phone. No ones is at the desk. The worst costumer service. go to Helena home depot or Lowes DO NOT use this location

Home Depot use a very bad shipping company if you live in Big Sky they will not deliver in the winter just terrible they use to gave a good delivery company 3 years ago was no problem delivery an oven same location perfect plow road but now temco logistics is just terrible maybe if they feel they will deliver during summer month worse think is they make you get ready and the cancel at last minute 2 times is less than a 2 mm snow on the road they think us so dangerous the driving maybe they can serve in Arizona that terrible people in every way after 4 day and several calls still waiting for my refund just the worst experience evet

Went in to search for some items. The person posted at the door was far more interested in scrolling her phone than assisting me or anyone else coming in. The person who checked me out was the same one who checked me out some weeks prior so there was no turnover there and they were friendly enough.

I cannot fathom how this store is still in business. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars annually at this location and I have never had so much hatred for a company based on years of terrible experiences. I have bit the bullet and continued to shop as my Pro account tracks all my business purchases and I can locate them all in one place but I’m done. I will NEVER spend another dollar at Home Depot and am moving all purchases to Lowe’s. Lowe’s is a breath of fresh air after dealing with Home Depot for so long.

The employee incompetence and outright disdain for customers is outrageous. They will literally walk away when they see customers approaching. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve witnessed this. The few times I have had a quick question, they’ve given me wrong info. Clearly (and after reading other’s reviews confirming this there is little to no employee training). It reminds me of the Ron Swanson quote “I know more than you” while at the hardware store because you usually have to end up telling them where something is located. I will say the ONE thing they have going for them is Jeremy. Give that guy a raise.

Not only that, it is extremely frustrating how many times the website has said an item is in stock only to drive (from out of town) to show up and it’s not. There’s no point in trying to call to confirm before making the trek because I’ve never had an employee answer the phone. I don’t even try to contact them for any reason any more.

Business 101 states don’t block customers from purchasing items (i.e. don’t close aisles with customers in them to restock, ESPECIALLY during the busiest times), nor block all your products with boxes in the aisle so that your customers can’t reach them. Literally every time I’m in the store both of these issues occur. It is beyond frustrating to be in the middle of loading lumber or heavy materials and an employee tells you to leave the aisle because they are going to close it down to restock.

The employee at the return desk is so blatantly rude and offensive I refuse to interact with him and will come back another day when he is not working. Seriously? Why are you working in customer service when you clearly hate customers and your job?

I purchased kitchen cabinets and installation a few years ago and I can’t tell you how many issues there were not only with the purchasing process but the measurements and install. To this day, I still have issues with them but I won’t even bother trying to get Home Depot to make this right.

Obviously the employees are rude and refuse to help and they are to be held accountable but clearly management dictates morale and this is a top down issue.

Inventory issues, rude (or non-existent) customer service, inability to purchase items because whole aisles are closed or blocked, inability to contact anyone via phone, and a whole laundry list of other issues I’ve experienced over the years are inexcusable.

Unfortunately, this review won’t matter because this Home Depot literally and blatantly just does not care. I’ve talked to numerous Bozeman residents who have all had bad experiences as well. They don’t care about their employee’s morale or training, their customers, or the success of this store. Please don’t continue to support this type of business when there are so many better options.

I am still stunned by the exceptional customer service I experienced at the lumber desk. I was assisted on the floor and also in loading a large number of fenclboards by a very professional courteous staff member named Gavin. All the way through the process I received all the help I needed in completing my purchase. Whew!

The way I hear some of these people talk to their coworkers .-. This one girl Kaitlin? absolutely terrible behavior, snapping and being condescending towards her fellow coworkers I don’t see how her attitude got her into being a head cashier maybe she has a good work ethic but she definitely needs to learn people skills otherwise she ain’t gonna make it very far in life with that bitter and whiny attitude

I’m not sure I could fully put in to words how poor the customer service is at Home Depot. It’s not just this location either, but it is particularly awful here. Nearly NONE of the employees knows where items are in the store if you ask. I have been told on more than one occasion to open the website on my phone and it will tell me where. The other less than acceptable solution is they pull their phone out of their pocket while they stand there with a puzzled look on their face asking multiple times what it is you are looking for.

Home Depot TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES BETTER.

You are systematically failing on so many fronts that I am amazed daily that your stores are still open and conducting business.

I can’t count how many times I have left your store having had the worst customer experience and sworn that I would not return. Well this time…this will be the last visit to your store here in Bozeman or anywhere in the nation I may be. I would rather whittle a ladder out of an oak tree than purchase a single product from your dismal excuse for a retail establishment again.

Asked for some help to get some carpet… no one came.. so I went to ask for help again. They looked at me like I was weird for asking for help and told me there was nothing they could do. Don’t waste your time here unless you’re saying hi to Jeremy. Lowes is across the street save yourself the hassle

Outdoor garden center has great options for plants. They have a variety of indoor plants as well. Easy to find different soil types for specific needs. Staff are generally available and knowledgeable. Strangely, the sliding doors were jammed in a partially-open position. Seems like they should fix that being a hardware store and all ‍♀️

Do NOT check the online inventory here, and then drive 4 hours round trip to come get your items, because they won't have them. Tried to buy some ground-contact stair stringers, an item the web site tells you that they have 51 of (and STILL does as of right now!), and arrived to find zero, plus a handful of mis-cut trash ones. Talked with both customer service and an employee in lumber. Their inventory web site indeed showed 51, but none to be found. I said, ok, lets just buy some bigger ones, at increased cost to myself, and I'll just cut them down. Web site shows 18 of those, so we should be good. NOPE. Only 1. I thanked the rookie employees for their time (it's not their fault this store is mismanaged), and left.

Not an ideal place to deliver too! Been waiting around forever for someone to unload the product they ordered. Stop wasting a truck driver’s time. Even if your my last stop, I’d like to start my time off of work. I bust my butt driving your product over a 1,000 miles into the middle of nowhere and a dead freight market, only to have your employees waste my time.
I highly doubt I’ll ever come back to this location. You can definitely tell that the woman doing receiving doesn’t like her job, and she takes it out on the drivers. Even when I was extremely polite and professional with her!

Not only did he announce to the store that we were looking for help, he got our names and made sure we were in the right place to find what we needed. Just spoke with an associate inside about 20-40 bags of potting soil. He directed me to go look outside in the drive thru section. I got in my car because it's the drive thru section to look for the soil. A different Hispanic employee comes out and immediately asks if I've paid for that. He continues to hover and asks inappropriate questions and talks about theft. Basically accusing me that I was planning to steal. I've been shopping at this store for 10 years and spent tens of thousands of dollars here. This is my home store. I've never felt more uncomfortable or unwelcome. I immediately took my business across the street to Kenyon Noble. I am very upset because I just put in another custom window order here and had picked out a washer, dryer, stove and fridge to purchase next week. Now I'm not sure I want to even set foot in this store again.

I hate to leave a bad review but this store is really badly managed. Trips here are almost always frustrating.

The range of goods is impressive but their customer service needs serious attention.

It is difficult to find an associate in the store and when you do. They seem exasperated and overworked.

Long queues and long wait times for services are the norm.

If you are looking to do it yourself, but need a little guidance than look no further than Perry in plumbing. He will point you in the right direction whether you need supplies or an expert to help you get the job done. The first time. He has the knowledge. The only down side is he's a favorite among customers and contractors alike so you might have to wait your turn. The Home Depot is my favorite local hardware store because of people like Perry. And of course Jeremy double trouble Brooks!
