Great professional crew. They were well organized and their costs were quite competitive with other installers in town for better hardware. Namely Onsite uses micro inverters versus string inverters , the latter of which Ive had problems with in the past. Highly recommend.

After hearing lots of good reviews about Onsite Solar we went with them for our Solar Panel system. Now that the project is finished I have to say that they were wonderful to work with. The staff was very good about communicating where the project stood as the process went along. The installers were great. They were extremely polite, considerate and hard working. We did have a problem with wiring on install but since they were monitoring the system, they caught the issue quickly and sent someone out to fix the problem. No regrets!

My wife and I decided to use OnSite Energy for the installation of solar panels on the roof of our house. OnSite had proposed a system sufficient to offset all of our current annual energy consumption. We entered into an agreement with them in September, 2022 that provided for the installation to be done in late July, 2023 and the system commissioned in August. OnSite was able to move all of this up so that our system was commissioned in late June, giving us an extra six weeks of peak summer power production.

The installation took place while we were out of town. There was no evidence of the installers having been on our property other than the proper placement and functioning of the solar panels, inverters and other equipment in the locations specified. Not a twig was broken in my wife’s carefully tended backyard where the work was staged.

OnSite provided excellent documentation of our system. Its employees have been quick to answer all of our questions from initial contact onward.

The inverters, manufactured by Solar Edge, provide a constant stream of wireless data to our phones and to OnSite so that we both can monitor the systems functioning in real time and historically.

Our system is producing electricity as predicted by OnSite and we are delighted to be making a small contribution to a more carbon free world.

Given the uncertain availability and rising costs of fossil fuels, we believe solar energy is the way to help transition from oil, gas, and coal to clean energy. While the initial price might seem high, with the incentives and years of low to zero power bills, it is well worth the investment the long term, especially given ongoing increases in the economic and environmental costs for electricity generated by fossil fuels.

We picked OnSite Energy to do our solar installation because they were highly rated, they are a B Corporation, and we appreciated our initial conversations with their staff. We couldn’t be more pleased with the folks we worked with at OnSite from the people in the office to the crews on the ground. The planning, installation, and performance of the system have all been great. We give them our highest rating and we recommend them to folks we talk with who are interested in solar energy.

We decided that the design developed by On Site Energy for our home would be the best design for us and we are extremely pleased with the design, workmanship, efficiency, timeliness, and information provided to us for the solar panel installation.

OnSite was a pleasure to work with. They kept me fully informed of my solar installation from when I first reached out to them until the project was completed and directing electrons into my electrical system and the grid. The quality of their workmanship is outstanding. All the technicians who worked on my installation were qualified and highly trained. Furthermore, I appreciated their professionalism and willingness to answer all my questions.

I've had my system for about a year now and I definitely recommend OnSite Energy if you are thinking about installing solar for your home. They went through all the calculations for me to decide how much power I needed to run my home with future expansion in mind. There were hiccups during the installation and there were some connectivity issues for being able to monitor the power production during the year. All issues were handled professionally and with minimal delays.

Today is the one year anniversary of the electrical production from our solar array. I appreciate the fact that we haven't paid a bill for electricity in the past year and don't harangue my wife when a light is left one (at least not as much). As my Norwegian cousin says about my reduction of our carbon footprint, "It's the right thing to do".

I contracted with OnSite Energy, Inc. in the fall of 2019 for a residential solar installation and they did a great job of untangling and complying with the requirements of NW Energy and coordinating the project without glitches. My system has been up and running for 12 months without issue, producing slightly more power than anticipated and rewarding me with monthly bills of $4.00 from NW Energy. Great company, great product and now is the time to do the right thing!

We have used OnSite Energy for many years. We have a home that is totally off the grid. This was our first experience in living without access to normal utilities. It is used extensively and with Orion's expertise we were able to purchase our appliances etc "off the shelf" with little limitation. A few years ago we upgraded our equipment when we expanded our home. This larger home created a very complicated "need" but Orion solved it for us. If we run into questions or problems Orion has always been available and extremely responsive. I have nothing but exceptional things to say about the team at OnSite Energy. Onsite installed solar panels and battery at our new home in Montana. Throughout the process, the entire team from sales through installation were incredibly professional and responsive and were always available to answer our questions. We couldn't be happier with our new system and with our decision to go with OnSite!

Onsite did a professional job from start to finish but the real reason I'm rating them here is for their customer service. About a year after installation a wire became loose in my system and there was no delay from Onsite to inspect and find the warranty issue. I think a company is only as good as their follow through after they've received full payment and I found that Onsite stands behind everything they do!

I have to give it to these guys, who would think of starting a major house install of solar panels on the top of a three story house in the middle of winter in very windy Paradise Valley - well OnSite Energy did, and what a fantastic job they did. Working in Industry myself (Microchip & Aerospace, and now Medical Engineering) my first concern was how can they do this safely in the middle of winter, but hats off to the OnSite Energy install team, they worked up there with total safety in mind, we had zero issues, and the install job (from the rooftop panels all the way down to the inverter install and connectivity) was nothing but TOTAL Professionalism. Once the job was completed, they took the time to do a personal walk through of the install, documents, operation etc, and were very attentive to any questions we asked. Note, they also keep you fully informed of what is going on with the project throughout the entire process. The system is putting out enough power that I'm looking for an old DeLorean and a crazy Doc that can enable that Leap to the Future lol. Seriously though, an absolutely fantastic job by OnSite Energy.

Very professional crew! They've always been very helpful and answered any questions that I have, big or small, during installation or years down the line! Their system is top notch, and they can access most of it remotely when needed to give us an update on how everything is working.

Onsite management did a spectacular job of getting our panels installed and turned on. Their office management team was easy to work with, incredibly courteous, and followed up on every detail. The guys who did the actual install of the panels were friendly, professional, and very adept at balancing on our roof. Sarah walked us through the system and was incredible at staying on top of all the details. We felt very taken care of through the whole process. We are so excited to have these panels!

Love my panels. I augment my propane heat with the electricity which saves thousands of dollars each year along with the reduced carbon footprint which was the primary reason for the installation. Onsite Energy made the whole process super smooth.

Did a great job of installation, very nice people, would highly recommend them. Was a little worried when I thought a dangerous smart meter would have to be installed, but they said it was only a digital net meter, so no radiation or fires. I was really disappointed when I thought I wasn’t going to be able to use my new PV system. Glad I can and can’t wait, even the inspector that came to check it out said it was really nice and they did a really good job installing it. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Update: 2-4 weeks until my meter gets switched out, due to slow times because of winter my new meter was installed in a week. Messed up my plans, as I was expecting it to be completed closer to Christmas, and go online at exactly 12 midnight on New Year’s Day for literal year to year data: Jan 1st to Dec 31 1159pm. Was still planning on going that route but we are expected to have 4-5 days of sun, so I went ahead and turned it on early so not to miss this great sun. These solar panels are freaking awesome, at least in winter where the sunrise hits my roof as soon as it peeks out from behind the mountain, it’s producing over 100 watts of power and it’s going up at a good pace. Was not expecting that, I was expecting it to produce power, but this was beyond my expectations. Can’t wait to see what these bad boys do in summer! Can’t say enough good things about the company and the equipment they use. System went online by itself at 8am producing 18 watts of power 30 mins later it’s up to over 600 watts just from the sunrise.

Update: finally seeing results couldn’t be happier with my photovoltaic system, see attached pictures of my energy usage of May along with my energy production of May.

My wife Mary and I moved from often-cloudy Oregon where we had solar panels on our roof. At our new house in sunny Gardiner, MT, we definitely wanted solar panels. We asked around and Onsite Energy and Orion Thornton came highly recommended.

We worked closely with Orion who helped us calculate the best array for our house. He and his crew then installed the panels and the inverter. Everything went smoothly.

After the system was up for a couple of months, there was a little issue which I called Orion about. He was immediately available and resolved the issue with no problems.

A few months later, Orion drove 80 miles from his home to our home. He spoke to our neighbors who had gathered for a "solar social" to learn about installing solar. Orion is a good speaker and very knowledgeable. He is also active in fighting for more use of solar in Montana, no easy fight.

Onsite Energy and Orion Thornton are the best! We were building an off-grid home and had so many questions and so many delays (on our part) and they were extremely patient, calling to check on our progress, letting us know of their busy schedule and when they could squeeze us in. They continue to check on us as this is our first winter with the system fully off-grid. No problems! We have had it fault twice, added a little heat to the battery storage area and all is good. We have a regular little house with modern amenities and have never ran out of power nor had to start up the generator! Any questions...ask away! They know their stuff and they KNOW customer service!

Onsite and their crew (including subs) were great to work with! They were very knowledgeable, timely and communicated well throughout the entire design and installation process. We did have some issues with our inverters throwing errors when the system was first started up but there were on it and the issues were resolved very quickly. We would highly recommend Onsight Energy!

Onsite did a stellar job of planning and installing our solar PV system. Conor spent a lot of time helping us plan exactly what we wanted and needed, Sarah was incredibly thorough and knowledgeable and walked us through all the parts of the installation, and the two installers were fast, efficient and very professional. Despite some bad weather it all came together much faster than I had anticipated. We love our system, and can't say enough about how great Onsite was to work with.

What impressed me about on-site energy was their commitment to helping me understand how solar energy works on the grid and how to best set up our new home. Even with my basic understanding of solar energy, there is a lot to know and being able to trust a company was important to me. They offered alternatives and patiently answered my questions. The installation went smoothly and quickly. Getting Northwestern Energy to fulfill there obligation is another story and review!

There are several great solar contractors in Bozeman, so it was hard to decide. In the end we went with Onsite, and are very happy with the work they did. They were patient with our many questions, and very thorough with meeting our specific needs and coming up with the perfect solution for our situation. In September of 2017, OnSite Energy installed 17 300 Watt Monocrystalline Solar black solar modules on our south-facing roof. The work was completed within two days by two courteous technicians, including installation of a SolarEdge 5kW Inverter. The system passed City inspection the first time, and it started functioning perfectly immediately after installation of the required net meter by Northwestern Energy. It was a pleasure working with the company’s representative who provided us with the initial proposal. In short, the entire process from start to finish was handled in a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional manner, and we highly recommend OnSite to anyone contemplating a solar installation.

Onsite Energy installed a custom 3.41 kW grid-tie, stand-alone solar array at Absaroka Energy’s office in Bozeman, Montana. As this was a custom project, Orion and Connor worked very well with our other designers and fabricators on the design and scheduling of the installation. I found OnSite Energy to be professional, patient, flexible and responsive in the coordinated effort with our other contractors. In addition to the solar PV installation, they also informed, coordinated and participated in the successful awarding of two grants we received to help offset the cost of the project. As of this writing, the solar array has been in service for two and one half years without a single operational concern.

The process of selecting a solar installation contractor is relatively easy in our Bozeman, MT region. There is a good supply of qualified and enthusiastic providers. After meeting with several local solar representatives I chose to use Onsite Energy. Orion at Onsite proved to be a valuable and reliable resource during the original construction phase in 2015. He worked with our general contractor's electrician to install the components needed for our eventual roof mounted solar array installed in 2017. We are very pleased with the work that Onsite Energy did installing our 14 kW solar array. They were timely and communicated very well during the installation and setup process. There was some roof damage because of cold weather and snow removal during installation, and Orion and his crew were extremely accommodating and helped to repair our roof quickly and without complaint, a textbook response to a potentially contentious situation.

I first got involved with Solstice Energy Systems (which later became Onsite Energy) in the spring of 2013. I had been thinking about having a solar panel array on our roof for a number of years. I set up an appointment with Conor; he came out and measured our roof, explained how the system would be set up and installed, and informed us of the currently available incentives. We were going to be getting a new roof, so the timing seemed right. We promptly got an estimate on the project, and after going over the proposal, it didn't make any sense to not go ahead with it! We ended up going with a 6.2 Kw 24 panel array. Installation went smoothly and everything was done neatly and on time.
Now, almost four years later, we couldn't be happier with our system. In the second year of operation, it produced more power than we used! Solar energy is a great and exiting way to go. The initial price might seem high, but with the incentives and years of low to zero power bills, it is well worth it in the long term. This is something that I would definitely do again, and I would not hesitate to recommend Onsite Energy.

We had Conor install a 7.75KW system for our home in July of 2012. At the time Conor had just started Solstice, which eventually became a part of Onsite Energy. I think we may have been his first customer. Everything was done very professionally from initial proposal to system turnover. We were very happy with the whole process and even happier with the systems performance to date. The system has performed within 1% of his original estimates all four plus years it's been operational. Very nice addition to our property, which I suspect will pay for itself multiple times over the long haul. Plus you can feel good about yourself when think about how much you are helping the climate change fight.

We had a system installed on our house in 2015. The contracting was easy, service was very professional, and OnSite spent time with us reviewing the system and how it works, answering all of our questions. The system has worked as we hoped, significantly reducing our NWE bills every month.

We are completely happy with the suggestions, installation, and follow up on our 4.4kw project Onsite did in Spring 2015. We ended up with a dual system on our city lot, 9 panels on our south facing 12 in 12 pitch roof and another 8 on our flat roof garage in the back. The panels that can be seen from the street are black-on-black and do not interfere with our historic house appearance. The system has actually performed better that we expected - it has replaced >60% of our electrical load. Orion is a professional and hired wonderful subcontractors where needed. Highly recommended!

Connor Darby, one of the owners of Onsite, was a gem to work with. He gave a very good accurate estimate of costs. Since we had never considered solar before this, he provided references to us. So far the estimate of how much electricity the system will generate looks to be right on track - we have had essentially zero electric bill since 5/16 and still have lots of "credit" on our net meter to get us through the balance of the year. The installation went very well and occurred exactly as he said it would and on time. I could not ask for more.

Great technology, excellent customer service, competitive pricing. Other than a metering fee, we have had no electric bill since installation and our first full year of service.

My system was installed in June, 2015. It has been working flawlessly. Orion's crew were very professional, courteous and took time to explain every phase of the installation. My electrical energy bills have been non-existent, just the way I envisioned it!

All good - my system has been operating for almost 4 years now and has been flawless after the initial set-up and debug. I have not purchased any (net) electricity in that time, and am a net-generator for NWE. My latest bill ($4.10) was just the service/connection charge, as always. Onsite was professional, competent and responsive to work with, and I have recommended their services to others (at least one of whom did an installation that is also working well to the best of my knowledge).
