I've had the system installed on our house and garage for 4 years now. Works great! Some leaves hang out on top for a couple of days, but typically dry out and get blown off. Never cleaned it since it was installed in 2021! Works as advertised. Highly recommend for anyone considering having it installed.

The LeafFilter gutter guard looks to be an excellent product and the lifetime no clogging guarantee is attractive, but be careful about the sales tactics. The sales rep who came to my home to give me a free estimate first quoted me a very high price. I had to ask for a senior discount which was 10%. When I hesitated about the price after that, she offered another 20% off, but told me that that offer would not be valid if she left without my approval. I declined as the price was still too high. Two hours later I received a text that dropped the price to about 30% of the original offer before I had asked for the senior discount, which was almost 55% off the price the sales rep had quoted me before she left, but I had to say Yes to the text by the end of the day.

I will not be buying the LeafFilter product as I abhor their high pressure sales tactics.

We signed the contract on Friday and came home on Monday to new gutters. Everything looked awesome and the crew did a great job of cleaning up after they completed the job.

I had two salesmen lie to me about the warranty; on two separate occasions I was assured that the product has a lifetime, FREE warranty. Turns out this is only true for one year, after that it is $95 per visit. Matt from the Portland office is extremely rude and untrustworthy. He told me the salesmen were not technically lying, since they have never read the warranty and don't know what they're talking about (what kind of company is this?!).

The product does not work well in Maine, since when snow falls off the roof, it rips the cheap filter fabric off. I eventually gave in and paid $95 to have my gutters cleaned after 1.5 years, and one month later the gutter is clogged and they tell me I have to pay another $95, just one month later!

Both the sales rep and the installers were very professional and responsive. The sales rep that came to my house did a good job explaining the benefits of the system and working within our budget. The installers were also professional and friendly.

LeafFilter may be a great product but the installation that was done by a local installer was terrible. The entire gutter was installed using only metal straps which were screwed down on top of the roof shingles. The straps are crooked, some stick up and they look awful from the street. When the Salesman did the presentation, he stated that our garage/eaves were not an issue and they could do the job. We were shown the wedges and T-brackets that they use for installation, we were not shown any straps. If we had known that the gutter would be hanging by only straps, we would not have agreed to the installation. We did however, sign an Installation waiver that allowed for the use of wedges, T-brackets and straps if necessary but that was not how it was presented to us. The gutter installed is twisted and looks unprofessional. Our neighbors have noticed and commented on the poor installation. We are now getting quotes from other gutter companies to come fix what we were left with.

Never received a call as requested when team would be arriving until well after appointment time. Crew arrived almost 5 hrs after original scheduled block of time, The delay of the crew caused my family to miss a dinner appointment as we had to remain to pay upon completion. Job was completed well after sunset and 2 week later we had a leak. Warranty repair was requested and someone showed 1 week early, again without a call to us as requested and then proceeded to repair the gutter system at the wrong area. Leaffitter was called to again request a repair for the initial issue, company called 2 days later in attempt to move appointment forward but want to do repair and potential silicon caulking in the rain. Appointment was declined by us, so they sent someone out to witness the leak..........

This franchised company hires local installers that are not vetted for quality as far as my experience goes. It started three months ago after one very good event when local sales rep and installers did an excellent job.... BUT THEN!!!!! I decided to replace more gutters using this company and it has been the worst event I can imagine. From the under trained sales rep who started the quote with a ridiculous number that insults one intelligence by offering a normal price after quick customer refusal. Next the man behind the curtain who schedules an installer, followed by an unvetted and poorly excused local kid that calls fours days late with excuses about his family problems! After I refused to let him work on my house, the management still sent the same guy. Against my better judgement I allowed this guy to do the job and unfortunately I was right and the result was terrible. I now am calling to complain that water is flowing down the side of my house and the "management" is not picking up nor calling me back. My check has cleared. I have the names of more regional managers that I am forced to try to complain to.

The post photo's show clear gaps between the new gutter and facia as well as a video of water flowing between new gutter and facia board.

I can't say DO NOT USE THEM becasue my first local couple did a great job but I took the chance and got a terrible job my second time through.

I recently did business with Leaf Filter out of the Portland, Maine office. I wanted to write this to share my experience and to warn others that may come across the same issue.

My wife and I are first time home owners and one of the first items we wanted to take care of was our leaf filled gutters. I contacted Leaf Filter and a sales person got back to me quickly about setting up a free estimate appointment. She showed up on time to the estimate. After doing a quick walk around the property, the sales lady told me she needed to run some numbers and would come to my door when the estimate was finished.

She came back to my door and came inside. She then spent 15 minutes showing me competitor products and telling me their flaws and why they don't work. She then took out a Leaf Filter example and boasted about the companies success. She then was ready to give me the estimate. She told me that the gutters I had on the house did not need replacing and so the only thing I would be paying for was 71 feet of the Leaf Filter installation. She came me an estimate for $4,600. I knew this number was ridiculously high. She then created a bunch of "discounts," and got the number down to $3,600. Before even getting my opinion on the price, she reached for the contract and began filling it out. This is when I spoke up and told her we were only looking for an estimate and not looking to schedule an appointment right now.

The sales lady then looked shocked, and asked me if there was something wrong with the price. I told her this was way too high for simply installing the Leaf Filter system. I told her I would not even expect to pay that price for replacing all the gutters. She then argued with me that a gutter replacement would cost nearly $6,000. She then began pressuring me to tell her the price I expected to pay for the job, even though I told her numerous times we were simply looking for estimates and not to book. I eventually gave a low ball estimate, less than half the original price and the lady said she would call her boss because "the worst he can say is no." No one answered her phone call and so she began texting. A few minutes later, she told me the boss said if we placed a Leaf Filter sign on our lawn that she could do the price I offered.

On the date of installation, two workers showed up and did the work quickly. The Leaf Filters have only been on the house for a week but seem to be installed correctly unlike other reviews I have read on here.

Moral of the story. I truly believe in a no BS type of company. One that has your own interests in mind and is not in the business simply for the money. I was not impressed that this company was about to charge me more than double what the final offer for the job ended up being. All I could think about is an elderly couple being put in this same situation and paying the original price out of pressure. Honesty and integrity go a long way with me and I do not believe this company has either. If you end up getting an estimate from this company I HIGHLY suggest you do your research before the estimate appointment because they WILL try to make you commit to a ridiculous price. In speaking with friends and family, I still believe I paid too high of a price but like I said the pressuring from the sales lady was just too intimidating.

Easy process. Installation was quick. Works great. Photo 1 is before with gutter full of leaves. Photo 2 is after and the leaves that are there blow off with the slightest breeze.

High pressure sales tactics. Every rejection came with another “discount” he could find. When he realized he wasn’t getting the sale he then became rude about it. Then tried to come back again(rang doorbell… we didn’t answer) and called after leaving with another “discount” that needed to be used by 9am the next day.No matter what I do now it won’t be with them.

We spent thousands of dollars on what we thought would be high-quality gutters with quality customer service... we quickly found out that was not the case.

The guy doing the install was by himself and rushed through the job leaving the drains not properly sealed off from debris, and scrap materials on the ground including sharp metals, drain spouts, and wire mesh.

He came back and did some touch-up work, but then called me (I wasn’t able to be on-site that day) with a sob story about how he had been working in the rain and wasn’t going to be able to finish the work that day, but swore that he would come back the following Monday to get it completed…

He said he needed us to sign the satisfaction paperwork now though, or else his paycheck would be withheld by Leaf Gutter, in which case he wouldn’t be able to put food on the table for his children.

I was skeptical, but he had been working in the down pouring rain and didn’t have the materials to complete the job that day.

I wanted to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, and also believed at the time that Leaf Gutter was a reputable company, and that if the guy didn’t show back up they would have someone else come out and finish the job in a timely manner, so I told him that I was okay with our carpenter signing the paperwork (so that the guy could feed his family) as long as he promised to come back the following Monday.

Neither one of those things happened. He was a no-show/no-call the following week. I called our sales rep, the main office, and an installation manager, and after a few voicemails I got a call back, and was told the boss of the guy who did the installation would be out there personally to make sure the job was finished, ensuring me that “we would be taken care of”.

That never happened, either.

I have now called over a dozen times in the last week and left voicemails for the sales rep, main office, installation manager, and the guy who did the install… I still have yet to hear back from them.

We were also given the option to finance the gutters with 0% APR for a promotional period, which we did.
To our surprise on the very first financing statement, we received a 19.99% interest charge… I have not received any call backs regarding this major issue, either.

High pressure sales tactics, they wanna play games with you on pricing. When original price they quoted was $6500 but the lowest price we got to was like $2300. I'm not into playing games, I just want an honest price for the work I need done. After reading the reviews and horror stories I decided it wasn't for me and cancelled my install. I'm glad I didn't. A very dishonest and disappointing experience from start to finish.

High pressure tactics to sign contract, be wary on hiring. Possibly a bait and switch. Run!

I recently had the misfortune of dealing with Leaf Filter Gutter Protection of Portland Maine to get an estimate to install a 30' Gutter on the front of our home that had none.

Here's why I would NOT recommend going with them:

1. Their salesperson was pressuring me to sign a contract when she knew before she arrived I was only looking for an estimate and I told her that I already had 2 other contractors coming by to estimate the work the next day.

2. She spent 20 minutes bragging how great their company was and that they had the best gutters in the industry.

3. She said no other contractor would be able to beat their estimate and quality and I should go with them.

4. She kept lowering the price when I said I wasn't ready to hire. Her price estimate started over $3000, with several reductions with a final verbal $1100 estimate for a 30 foot gutter. No written estimate detailing what work wpuld be provided.

5. She said her verbal estimate was good to the end of day, no exceptions. I never received a detailed written estimate on what work will be done for $1100.

6. She also said picking a gutter contractor was like picking a heart surgeon. Wow, I never knew gutters were so complicated, NOT!

You should never hire anyone until you have at least 3 written detailed estimates and had a chance to call their reference. Especially someone pressuring to do so. The only positive is that they arrived on time to estimate the work.

I have been billed for an h complete job. Half my gutters aren’t installed. Drainage hasn’t been completed. Yet leaf filter and installer have all been paid. Horrible service. Will file a legal action against them by end of month if not finished. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL YOUR JOB IS COMPLETED TO YOUR SATISFACTION

Well, it was not a good experience for me. The Ad said you could make big money working at Leaf Filter as an installer. That wasn't true...at all in my opinion. I invested $1200 dollars on tools for this job. Put over a 1000 miles on my truck. Worked three jobs for leaf filter, and my paycheck on Friday was $108 dollars out of $152.00 for the job. I guess Leaf Filter took their cut. On one job I seen on the paperwork that they charged the customer over $6000 dollars for the job but my cut to install the gutters was only $152 dollars and that included gas compensation to the job. Also, Leaf Filter deducts $100 dollars a week from your check for 15 weeks that goes into a fund you can't touch and won't get back until a year after you quit. So, after a $1200 dollar investment in tools and $175 dollars in gas and three jobs, I made $108 dollars. I would not recommend this company to work for as an installer. Leaf filter has a high turnover for gutter installers. I wonder why.

Prior note: Trying to get overflow fixed for a couple of months. Slow response. Someone came to “fix” it, except it wasn’t fixed. Showed up at storefront today as the web site says they are open and nobody home. Would not recommend.

So we're do I start, the sales rep came and talked my elderly mother into spending way to much money, gave her some bad information. Stated that they would put 6 in gutters on even though we have 5 in. ( which have been working fine) My mother doesn't know how big the gutters were just assumed that Matthew Smith was leading her in the right direction, so now that the are installed, she can't get anyone from Portland or the headquarters to even show up to make things right. The response from local (Portland, Maine) office was that she could replace the old gutters with the same size they put up for an extra $1200 on top of the $8000 already spent. The down spouts are placed in bad spots and to many, putting holes in the sidding. The corners do not come together at all. So needless to say they LOOK AWFUL!!!!! I would not recommend them to anyone!!!

Got gutter installation from Leaf filter, after not showing when they were supposed to, install that should have taken one day took about 3, they first installed downspouts on the wrong side of the house, after I had to correct them now I have screw holes all in my siding that don't need to be there. The gutters themselves are all scratched and dinged up it looks awful, pieced together downspouts not even full pieces. And low and behold the first time they see water the end caps all leaked. Do not get these hacks to do your gutters I would rather fix it myself than have them come try and repair there already garbage overpriced work.

Recently purchased a home with no gutters and a leaky basement with heavy rains. Had a guy come out from Leaf Filter, Matt I believe, was very knowledgable and found us some good discounts. We had a couple other gutter companies on our schedule to get a quote from but felt comfortable with what Matt provided, particularly the timeline. This was last week of October and we were concerned we wouldn't be able to get them up in time for the next heavy rain or cooler weather. Installation was scheduled for the 7th of November so we contracted in.

Received a phone call the Friday before planned installation asking if they could bump to today (the 11th) due to manpower. Sure, same week, weather seems to be holding, no big deal. Waiting around today, no show. Called the 800 number, someone left a voicemail to reschedule installation for the 19th, almost a month from the original contract. No reason given.

I'm really hoping I can come and update the review after installation and there wont be any further problems. I feel horrible though I didn't go with someone local. Giving two stars because the salesman did seem to know what he was doing, however, had I known it would be pushed out so far, we wouldn't have signed.

Extremely poor professionalism and follow-through.
We dealt with Matthew Smith. He is not to be trusted.
He came to the home did a thorough assessment, gathered photos, measurements and information. He made every assurance the installation would present no problems. We paid in full.
The installers came, and in less than an hour left, and left the job site as seen in the photos. Heating cable wrapped around the gutter, a shoddy job that looks like a 5th grader installed it. Instead of sourcing an electrician to manage the wire to fix the installation they told us we needed to source and pay for an electrician which NEVER was made apparent to us before or during the installation process.
Why was the work even started without consulting us or an electrician?? is beyond me. For a company that claims they do national work in all parts of the country how come they couldn't manage heating cable?
And when we asked for compensation for time and energy to follow-through to fix it.. source and pay for an electrician.. they denied it.
We asked for compensation for failure to inform during the initial assessment and installation, they also denied.
Extremely unprofessional. I would encourage anyone seeking a new gutter system be advised to go elsewhere.

Installed rain gutters only did not need the actual leaf filters. I appreciated NOT being sold them anyway.
Quick turnaround time from order placed until the installation. Warranty concerns were addressed almost immediately and the needed repairs were done soon thereafter by an extremely well qualified and experienced local rain gutter subcontractor. It was a great experience despite the initial install having issues. Thank you.

Leaf filter came to look over my roof and gutter situation. One gutter, they found (using a camera on a long pole), collected leaves. So they installed the filter. The other gutter looked clean to them, so nothing was required. I like that...

After signing the contract I found out Leaf Filter subcontracts the actual installation of gutters out. The contractor youl get is the luck of the draw That means going forward you have to deal with the subcontractor.
Read your contract carefully. Service on gutters is free for only 1 year.
Read a review that stated after 2 years the top screen has to be cleaned as particles from roof get stuck in screen.
I canceled my contract. Took 3 calls to leaf filter to find I had to cancel with local office who would then give me a confirmation number. One problem, there is no number for local office they have to call you. When local office called she stated there is no confirmation number she would just cancel contract.
However, read your contract it gives you 3 days from signing to send a LETTER to your local office canceling contract or you have to pay company 25% of contract. I sent my letter by certified msil.

I had a unique experience with leaffilter. Had gutter guards installed and facia repaired. While the actual installers and product worked out great, the process of getting there is one I cannot recommend. I had a sales rep come over, give me the pitch, and give me a decent offer. So far so good. It was time to set up a install date. It took weeks to get this set up. Apparently a manager had been let go, customer service reps didn’t have a clue how to respond, and nobody was giving me any answers. Season was changing and I needed the gutters done already. I had signed a contract with them and didn’t want any issues it I went to another organization. However…I was basically being ghosted. It was awful and unprofessional. Nobody returned my calls and I finally filed with the BBB. Shortly after, a new manager reached out and apologized/set up an install date. No discount or anything.The installers did a great job and I like the product so that went smoothly. It was like pulling teeth to get it done but I liked the product. So a few months go by and i’m reached out to via email to do a review of my experience and get a 50 dollar amazon gift card. Its rough out here, i’ll take it. So we set up a time to do the zoom. I rush home after work, and they never get on the call. I reach out and nothing. I’m sitting there like how? How is the company ghosting me again. Turns out they had an error and apologized. I’m like okay I already wasted my time enough here. They didn’t want to compensate me for time lost on there end…..So this is my review. Leaffilter Gutter guards are great and this is a good product but NOT WORTH chasing down to get installed. I’m worried about any issues i’ll have with the product down the line that they’ll have to repair because of that side of the business. Company really needs to work on its bedside manner.

Update: I lowered the rating to one start based on the copy and paste typical corporate response from leaffilter. If this company wanted to do the right thing they’d send out some gift cards or rewards
to all customers that had similar experiences. Read the other reviews from this timeframe you’ll see how many had issues. Typical corporate greed. In covid times no less.

Signed contract in August 2021.First 2 appointments cancelled. Stayed home for
third rescheduled 10/2 install.
No one showed. No calls or text from company. No response to my calls on 10/2/4/5/8/10/15 or 17. No response from emails to salesperson.
Now I'm facing water damage too late in the season to get another contractor. Can't believe they can't even be bothered to return a customer's call. Their product is not inexpensive.

we asked for an estimate from this company. when they came and gave us an estimate, we confirmed that we wanted them to do the work. they gave us a scheduled appointment and never showed up. we called to inquire about the appointment and they told us that we were not on the scheduled for that day (which we had a confirmed email and text message confirming that day.) we rescheduled with them, and they told us that our original appointment was not on their schedule. they did not show up for the next two appointments to install our gutters. we called multiple numbers and spoke to multiple people and got multiple excuses why they did not show up. finally they told us we would get rescheduled through a manger but never got a call back from them even after multiple calls.

I would not recommend this company to anyone because their customer service is terrible and they do not respond to customer calls or request for information

I live in southern Maine and signed a contract for them to do a service in August. It was scheduled for August 28th. No one came out. No one called. I had to call the national office because no one in the Portland office would answer the phone. After a lot of calls, the national office told me the job would be done Sept. 10th. It rained that day. No one came and no one called. I expected them to come the next day.

No one came and no one called.

So I called the national office again because no one in the Portland office would answer the phone. I was told the installer had quit. Days later, I was told someone would come out on Sept. 24th.

No one came and no one called on Sept. 24th. I called Leaf Filter national office and canceled my contract. I really need my gutters repaired and it is very very annoying I've wasted a month with this company. They offer a service they can't fulfill. Such a strange experience. Avoid Leaf Filter North.

If I could give 0 stars I would, signed the contract to get gutters installed set up an installation date, that day it was raining they had to reschedule okay sure no big deal set a another time for them to show up , no one showed up called everyone i could get a hold off and asked what was going why did anyone showed, response: sorry for the inconvenience looks like there was a system error will get you a new scheduled date to next week since our truck is in Maryland that's the earliest I can get them to install, I said okay sure that's fine no problem. That day came and no one showed up. I didnt get no installation, no gutters , I canceled. My honest opinion is that your better of going somewhere else to get your gutters done save yourself the hassle of chasing these people to come and install.

I would highly advise anyone who plans to work with this company to really really look online at reviews and talk to other local contractors for better options. We had leaffilter come to our home and give us an estimate. The sales man was your "A" typical salesman. He was polite and courtesy and working hard to sell his product. We looked at other products but our problem is our home is very tall. 34 feet from ground to room. The sales man reassured us that the job could be done in a day and quick and with to standard. So we decided to go with them. Everything seemed to be going great until the day of install came.

Well, it all took a turn then. First the window was 8-12. I was told we would get a call. As noon came and went no call. So I attempted to call both numbers listed on the invoice. Neither worked. So I went to the website and emailed them. I received a reply quickly being told " your project has been moved to 12-4. Okay then! Good know considering I took the day to be home. 4 came and no one arrived. I called the office again and no phones worked. Eventually, I emailed again and was told someone could contact me. After about an hour I attempted to call their office again and finally got someone who had ZERO clue what was going on. She informed me my install was from 12-8 which as she stated "was odd".

Eventually, the manager for the area called me and informed that he would have to move the date. He was brutally honest to me. Stating "my guys didn't show to work because we can't keep employees". This did not instill confidence. He stated he would "have two of best guys" as "he put it the Mexican brothers" do the best job. The Tuesday came and the guys arrived between the time frame of 8-12 (no call) which was fine because they showed up. These two guys are the only reason I gave it a 3-5 and personally even recommended that they do their own business as they were polite, quick, efficient and skillful. This company appears to have no clue what the other is doing. If we could do it over we would loose elsewhere. We understand things are crazy right now but its not hard to pick up a phone and tell the customer "hey we made a mistake can we switch the date". Heck or even offer a discount.

This company installed their gutters on my house and at the first rainfall water was streaming out at points all along the house. They were supposed to come out yesterday to repair the issues - but they never showed up! I called and they confirmed I was on the schedule and said they would call me right back - but never called. Today I called again and could only reach their voicemail - and again no one has called me! I have a very bad feeling about this and suspect I will have trouble getting them to repair these issues they caused. I am going to see if I can stop payment somehow until they do so satisfactorily. Beware of trusting LeafFilter.

First....their rep showed up...made the gutters, threw them on side of house...they sat their for a few days..no one showed up on install day..I called Leaf Filters..Customer service said I called "The Installer" and cancelled the install.....bullshiit answer, how did I know installers name and number..They installed , 2 weeks late but at less than half of original price...Now 14 months later, water flows over corner of gutter and they want $95.00 Service call to come out and fix
What happened to lifetime warranty ....Anyone want pictures let me know I have plenty

We were delighted with our experience with the Leaf Filter Gutter Protection installation. Great Value for Great Product! Efficient installer who left our property cleaned! Recent heavy downpours blew lots of pine needles over our home and we noted they never penetrated the filter system and no gutter clogs as previously experienced.!

We had LeafFilter install new gutters on portions of our home. In the beginning the sales experience was fine but from there it went downhill. They were overbooked so one employee showed up and cut and formed the gutters. He stacked them and left them in the driveway. Hours later the installers showed up. After installing we noticed scratches on the brand new gutters. The installers said it was just dirt. It was not. Contacted our sales rep. He stated someone would be out to look and repaint scratched areas. Each time this has been scheduled we have been called that it needs rescheduled for various reasons. Finally called sales rep again and said we are willing to forgo the repair if they give us a discount back on what we have paid. He said he would talk to the person able to make these decisions and get back to us. We have yet to hear back from anyone at the company. There is absolutely no service after the sale and no follow up on promises. I would not recommend this company.

I was happy with the service in the installation job that they did but don't think for a minute you will never have to clean your gutters again. Leaves blow off but other organic matter gets in the screen and you have to clean it out at least every 2 years.

The product is a great product, and the installer, Jason Chase and his crew, was great to work with. My recommendation though is to pick your installer first and then let them procure the leaf filter itself rather than having Leaf Filter spec the work as the Leaf Filter Sales team is very disorganized and difficult to work with. They are nice people, but you will end up interfacing a lot more with the contractor and its best to develop your relationship with a reputable contractor and let them deal with Leaf Filter Sales. I highly recommend Jason Chase out of Sanford.

I am hoping the product is better than the service.
I cannot recommend the service that LeafFilter contracts out to. The contracts showed up two days early with no warning, dragged their metal ladder supports (w/out rubber bumps) over my new roof and vinyl siding, and didn’t clean up after themselves.
