I recently moved to this part of town and your location is closer than Lowe’s

I had two great experiences working with Rodney and today a young man who name alludes me but he was a young cat who loves basketball and baseball and music

I was looking for bird feeding equipment to set up in my new house and he was extremely helpful.

We probably talked for another 10 minutes as he carried the purchase to my vehicle without me even asking

You guys got a couple of keepers

I gave 5 stars because of Rodney and Parker is the other gentleman’s name and today Zephaniah who helped me today

But Victoria and the manager on duty tonight

No Stars

I walked in with a piece of wood that I needed 2 inches cut off that I made a mistake at Lowe’s when I gave the measurements

I go to Lowe’s because Sutherland’s charges $1.00 per cut even if you purchased it from them

Right away she turns to the manager and in the most rude tone, body language and facial expression

Do we cut wood that not ours ?

I am thinking to myself how does she know I did not purchase this here?

I told her yes you do you cut wood $1.00 a cut

And the manager replied “ I guess”

I am thinking to myself how does he know I did not purchase this here?

I pay her and get the wood cut

As I am walking out ……she has the perfect opportunity to say Thank you and have a nice day or Screw you and I hope you get hit by a bus

But she chose to say nothing

That is why I am choosing to not even give Sutherland’s an opportunity to even bid on the new fence job that I am buying from Lowe’s

I won’t say I will never shop Sutherland’s again but I will say Sutherland will definitely be the last place I pick when I need something

Sutherlands has a great variety of home and garden merchandise and unique offeri gs than the usual big box stores.

This store is terrible. People that work there don't know anything. Could not tell me where to find what I was looking for, kept telling me the wrong aisle and such. Finally found out on my own they don't even carry post expanding foam. So I was leaving and decided to buy a bucket. Grabbed the bucket and was waiting in line, for a long time. Seems the checker didn't even know how to checkout lumber and was taking forever. I finally put the bucket down and left the store. Never going back. People are stupid, Stock is poor, just a bad place to go shopping for anything.

Let the truth be known that Sutherlands sells cheap wood fencing. I noticed the difference right away and thought I would try it anyway. Big Mistake… I just installed this fencing back in April 2024 , It's now August 2024 and as you can see – it washes out , fades fast , bends , warps , and is falling apart in some areas. I bought Most of my wood fencing from Lowes ( the good fencing that still has darkened brown wood color ) although I spent a few hundred bucks on worthless fencing at Sutherlands and I already need to replace much of it as you can see in the pictures.

Never again! I bought a $15 dollar light buld that didnt work. I returned it the next day with the receipt and was told I need to provide a driver's license and phone number. I told the cashier that is ridiculous. I complied but let her know I won't be back. Through the conversation she got nasty and said the return policy is on the wall and said
I can talk to a manager. I'll never shop there again. Imagine having to give a driver's license and phone number to return a light bulb. She entered my driver's license info into her computer and who knows what there doing with my phone number. RIDICULOUS!

You get service here, not what you get at big box stores. You get to know the staff, and they'll move heaven and earth to help you. They keep their employees, which tells me they're a good company and I've enjoyed getting to know them. I would buy stock in Sutherlands, but they are privately owned. I'm glad they're here and glad to have them as a local company.

I bought a hibiscus braided, half price. It brings me such joy, red, yellow, orange hibiscus every day. It has new blooms. It’s so beautiful.

I was looking for German Bearded irises, and they didn't have any. They had some beautiful flowers at some great prices. I purchased a hanging pot with a beautiful petunia in it for about $8.

Awesome, randomly showed up and they had a good tree sale going but I wasn't in the right vehicle, they saved my tree for me over 3 hours while I had to trade vehicles and got stuck at the tire store for over two hours. They were sweet and I even got another tree while I was there. Thanks for the sale and being kind. The poor cashier didn't even have a voice today but her kindness and customer service still shone through.

Can't praise this places enough. First off, friendly people. 2nd, very helpful even when I only half knew how to word what I was asking for. 3rd they didn't argue when I asked for a weird size board cut and double checked to make sure it was right. It was and it works perfect. 4th the first person I asked a question to didn't know the answer, but instead of guessing about it, they called and got an answer from someone who knew. Overall this is the first stop from now on so I don't waste my time elsewhere

I love the garden center! The prices are great and the plants are healthy. Yes, they were short staffed, but everywhere you go it's the same situation. I just try to be courteous because they are working their tales off. I truly appreciate this store and employees!!!

Not too bad. Found what I was looking for. Friendly staff. Easy access. Never crowded like the other guys across town.

If you're tired of seeing the same old things at the big box stores they have a large selection of different things from tile to furniture lumber light fixtures. Has always been one of my favorite shops. The lawn and garden section can't be beat and the early bird specials you have to just check out.

Came here to find two items I needed . I walked around the store which was not busy . I was there for over an hour searching for the items I needed and no one stop to ask if I needed any help despite several employees AND the manager walking by me as if I’m a ghost . I was clearly looking for a product but they didn’t have the common curtesy to stop and be of assistance. This is why Amazon is making money hand over fist . I try to support my locals stores however when you can’t find help and you are totally ignored it’s not worth the drive into the store . The manager seemed more concerned about moving displays than helping customers in the store . Also , the aisles had several boxes and miscellaneous equipment scattered on the floor which I tripped over . Big hazards in the aisles. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen . Bottom line, this location has horrible customer service. I will take my money to Amazon and just wait a couple days for the items I need . Much less stress and hassle. This manager needs a refresher course on customer service. Hopefully he will get additional training on how to treat and approach customers.

I like option of going to Sutherlands opposed to dealing with traffic at Lowes in Hot Springs. The prices seem comparable to Lowes. They do not have as much inventort as Lowes is my only complaint.

Don't bother. Came in looking for an item and couldn't find it on the shelf. Asked an employee on the floor if they may have had it in the back and was directed to the front to have someone look it up. When I asked, was told that they couldn't do that and everything they had was on the shelf. Looked offended that I even asked. Was planning on purchasing some lumber at a later time for some projects, but will go to Lowe's instead. Will not be returning here again.

I got some good deals at the Benton, AR location on the last day of operation in town. I wish I would have went sooner so as to find even better deals on clearance.

Seriously loved this store! Prices were extremely competitive. They had a great in store selection, prices clearly marked, nicely organized and displayed. Employees were helpful and friendly. Home decor section I wasn't expecting was a pleasant surprise! I accidentally was able to find and buy an item that I could not find at 5 other home stores!! I will absolutely be returning without hesitation. On every level, this store is ran the way it should be and others in town could take a lesson.

They didn't have all of my parts but they had enough to do my job so I give them five stars

Employees are extremely helpful. They go above and beyond to assist your needs.
They assisted me even after the store had closed for 10 minutes. They did not rush me out, they helped me with what I needed. You will not get that kind of service at Lowes.

What a transformation. It appears the new staff and maybe the management missed the class on how not to help the customers. Been going to this store for 20 yrs.and the help was great and the best experience seen there. This keeps the customer happy therefore not minding spending their money with you. Sutherlands is my go-to to buy spring flowers and plants! Great customer service always and a great deal on the plants they sell. I believe it was Leslie that helped me this morning in the garden area outside, she knew all the answers and was very helpful. Excellent customer service!

I went for plumbing for the toilet they had most of what I needed they were very helpful and courteous.

They've usually got what I am after. Sometimes the selection may be a bit thin but overall it's way cheaper/less crowded/better organized than their big blue competition. And, much closer to my house.
