We’re mostly happy w/ the siding but beware. The major thing, we were led to believe we had an issue that needed repairs before it got bad & there probably wasn't an issue by exploitative sales team. I mentioned something to the foreman. The response was that it was high pressure tactics. We told the sales team money was tight but they kept pushing & leading us to think it had to be done.
Sales Reps Payton & Trainee were like a pushy used car salesman trying to get us to do the project. To find out an issue of plywood w/ no vapor barrier under siding mentioned wasn’t an issue. After the siding was demoed, we found it was insulated structural sheathing with foil vapor barrier. The sales team should have done more research into this before telling us misleading info, is this is against DCP. An item we had concern about, a cantilever getting water into it was not addressed. We hope that possible damage we have seen before & after the siding was demoed, is ok & the sheathing holds the weight of the new siding. We were told it should or it would have been replaced. If we had known prior, we may not have gone forward w/ the project. I asked if they would pull permits, which they responded yes. As far as I know, no permit was pulled to ensure work meets codes or items per AHJ & DOPL. I was told that I’d be given a refund for unused plywood. It took a lot of back & forth to get this.
The delivery came, it was before a storm & uncovered. This would have damaged the materials & I had to cover them. The installers did seem to be hard workers but we couldn’t communicate well w/ them due to language barrier. I worried about them on my property, they didn’t follow certain OSHA guidelines. When I asked the workers if they were subcontracted, they didn’t answer. If they were subcontractors, were they licensed. The foreman Brandon who you could talk to was flaky & hard to get a hold of. He was only there at the start & the end of the project. Shouldn’t a foreman be on the project to supervise, I thought a licensed contractor had to be present & I don’t think there was a licensed contractor there. The installers left us w/o power to part of my house at the end of the day saying their foreman would call us but never did. We found; it was a wire nut on a hot & neutral wire short circuiting. A dryer outlet was installed on the fireplace inlet. This got fixed but how does a contractor not know stuff like the items I mentioned. When the foreman came to close the project, he told me a time he to be there but wasn’t. After calling him, he forgot but he did show up. The foreman wanted to get the papers signed so his crew could get paid even with my concerns about the fireplace inlet. The foreman did give me his word he would fix it. This did get fixed but tacky when it could have been replaced w/ the right part. In looking at the fix I saw silicone yellowing & nail heads w/o paint. Matted dust was on my lawn killing my grass. They broke sprinkler risers & sprinkler rain sensor. These items were not attached to the siding. There were also colors overlapping that they just shrugged it off saying nothing could be done about it.
The process was pushy & rammed in your throat. They didn’t care what the customer wanted, they just wanted to get the job, get done, get paid, etc. & would say anything. It sounded like they cared about customers but it really didn’t seem like it. It seemed shady & like they were trying to make it difficult so you would accept it to get the process over. Also only 1 year warranty on labor, do they not trust their work? They claim the manufacturer covers things but per the manufacturer that is not true. It sounded like they were a reputable company but they aren't. It also seemed like it would be high quality work for a deal but we could gotten the same quality work from someone else for less.
Response: I had to take this elsewhere because you don't listen. A agency has found you at fault for some items, so you did not comply w/ what you say. Also, what kind of company shades their building on street view.
