Editing my initial post after installation which read: "Jade took the time to share with us the options for the James Hardin siding and even worked to get us a reasonable price. Awaiting install but the interaction so far has been good!"
We hired this company for an #jameshardie installation project, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The initial interaction with the sales rep was great to the point where we thought that we got a great deal financially to have them install the siding but it got shaky from there.
There were communication issues—the crew sometimes arrived without clear instructions, and their presence was inconsistent, with no-shows on multiple days and no advance notice. We ended up having to call to get an explanation as to the plan for installation.
Several installation quality concerns also arose which could have been avoided if there was someone from the design team verifying the initial plans discussed with the sales rep. The production team also failed to order all necessary materials, which caused avoidable delays. We identified the issue during installation, but if we hadn’t intervened, the wrong materials would have been installed, potentially causing long-term problems. While the team was quick (when they were actually on site) aesthetics was not something that appeared to be part of their process.
The board and batten siding was misaligned in some areas. When we raised the issue, we were told it couldn’t be corrected without leaving visible nail holes—no proper solution was offered. This one made me question the quality control process for qualifying companies to install this type of siding and whether this is the industry standard. The crew also removed our screen doors and failed to reinstall them with the crew admitting that they may have discarded some of the parts to reinstall the door. I have been waiting since April 2025 for a resolution on this one from the #Dabella team in Salem. It is now end of July 2025 and follow up and follow through are still lacking.
We also encountered damage to the product including cracked siding (some replaced, others only patched), as well as to our property (dents to new bay windows, and kitchen windows that no longer open). We also had the unfortunate experience of an electrical wire being accidentally cut during the project resulting in a power outage in two bedrooms. This required us to procure a four-hour repair by a licensed electrician for which we did receive reimbursement, but only after several weeks.
As mentioned, we’ve reached out and connected with individuals only to be told that they are working on a resolution but after 3 months of waiting, one can’t help but think that they are just ignoring us here.
Overall, while the company was effective during the sales process, the poor communication, lack of preparation, and quality issues during installation did not reflect the professionalism expected for the price paid. We expected better from #Dabella in Salem, NH and from installation of the #jameshardie product but we are now left thinking that perhaps we should have gone in a different direction with #CoastalWindows instead. We would hope these concerns are taken seriously by Gerardo and team at Salem #Deballa to improve future customer experiences but perhaps this is going to be a case of buyer beware.
