Home Genius Exteriors - Fairfax, VA

Posting this as a homeowner, not in my professional capacity.
Hired this company for a full exterior renovation. The experience started out promising, but ended with unresolved issues — including incorrect installation of sliding doors and visible damage to new siding caused by their work. Sales pressure was high, and I would not recommend based on my personal experience.

We are very happy with the Home Genius Exteriors crew. HGE came in and quickly replaced a roof that had been badly installed 12 years ago, resulting in water damage in our house. They gave an estimate on a Tuesday and installed the roof on that Thursday. The project management team handled everything smoothly and the guys who did the roof worked hard. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 only because a) it would have been very nice to have the project manager show up with the guys at 7:00 to go over things, especially since I don't speak Spanish and couldn't talk to the guys; and b) I found little bits of debris in the yard and on a couple if bushes, and a nail on the edge of the driveway, so the cleanup was not complete.

I had a great experience with home genius the crew did a phenomenal job and tony my project manager was very attentive polite and helpful it was a pleasure working with him and home genius

I recently engaged with Home Genius Exteriors (HGE) to remove and replace my home’s (42) year old cypress wood siding with the state-of-the-art, James Hardie Plank & Shingle siding. From start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional and the transformation- breathtaking!
The management personnel (Jimmy, Stacelynn, Tony and Omar) assembled a comprehensive scope of work with excellent pricing, contract execution, coordination and final project close-out.
I would also like to take this opportunity like to acknowledge the construction crew chief, Daniel, and his talented crew. They demonstrated an “old school” work ethic with meticulous attention to detail and the work they placed embodied first-class workmanship throughout.
As a design, development and construction professional for over (49) years, a successful project requires a number of critical milestones. It begins with the Owner’s vision, the expertise of the design professionals, municipal oversight for permitting and code compliance and the financial support from the various institutions.
However, and most critically, it is the construction effort that makes the project a reality- it is “where the rubber meets the road”. The crew’s timely, well-coordinated, professional and personable efforts along with their quality workmanship are the aspects that leaves the Owner with a lasting impression of gratitude and accomplishment. HGE provided all of that and more.

The crew did a great job and the worked quick and I love my new siding! In three days my house was transformed! Thanks Omar and crew and all involved!

The staff and crew were a delight to work with. Mo and Tony were very knowledgable and personable. The crew were efficient and their clean up was great. Getting a new roof is an expense that no homeowner wants to tackle but I give this company an excellent rating. Their lifetime warranty on their labor was a big selling point for me.

Smooth process from start to finish. I had a small job that had me wondering if a contractor would give me a fair price. The price for the small job (rotted trim) seemed fair and they were pleased to give me a reasonable quote for a big job (roof replacement) that I needed but was afraid of the cost. I gave them the go ahead for both jobs and was pleased to find that they were able to accommodate me almost immediately.
The two crews worked diligently and completed the jobs on time. The project manager Tony kept me informed throughout the process and provided pictures of the progress and the completion of the work.
All aspects from the first contact to the last were first rate.

Requested two HGE solicitors to vacate the property more than once, they should have departed after the first request per Fairfax County law. Additionally said solicitors ignored our no solicitor sign, which in Fairfax County is also a Class 2 misdemeanor. That's two Class 2 misdemeanors, please respect homeowners privacy and requests.

The crew showed up on time and were near and clean, they have a very friendly staff and I really appreciate the crews efforts to make my siding look great! Thank you Omar, Tony and the crew! Bravo!

Awesome experience! The crew was always on time and the staff was friendly, Zach was very informative and he was honest. The crews worked very cleanly and Omar and Crew paid great attention to detail.

Everything was great from the start with Cori, in sales, to the installers on site and Omar the Project Manager checking on his crews. All were friendly, courteous and professional. The on site crews took great pains to mimimize any mess, and they completely cleaned up after. You couldn't tell they were even here now that they're done.

Customer service is not dead! These guys have renewed my hope in US businesses by providing exceptional service. They were quick to schedule a job, showed up on time, and have come back to address a couple punchlist items quickly. It’s been over a decade since I’ve seen a quality outfit like these guys.

I highly recommend them for any roofing or gutter work you may need.

On July 2, 2025, in Herndon, VA, two obnoxious and pushy salesmen ignored my "no soliciting" sign and continued to try and sell me on their services, after I had told them to leave because I was not interested. If I am ever looking for such services, I know I will not be using this company.

Just had my roof and skylights replaced. Excellent work, very professional all around, took great care of the work site before, during and after!

This team was awesome! Great job in my gutters and roofing system and shout out to Omar and Aj for helping us through this process. They kept the yard tidy and we're very punctual.
