The salesman I worked with was very convincing, but over-promised what I would be getting. He told me the work would be done in one day, that they would fix my back gutter as part of the quote, and that they would be laying down cloths and using a metal detector to catch and find any nails. In truth, the project took 5 days, I had to pay separate for the aforementioned gutter, and I have found several nails around the property.
When I agreed to the siding, I informed them that I live in a historical district and they would need to get approval from the city. They said no problem, so I passed on the date of the meeting for approval. The first person I spoke with about this was rude, and told me that it was my responsibility. I told them I was working and I came to find out that they have a person that speaks with city councils/HOAs exclusively that they could send. However, they missed the first meeting because this person was not available. They knocked $2000 off my project as an apology. The person that I thought was the project manager had completely ghosted me at this point in the process, so I worked with his manager to schedule the next meeting. So, the next meeting comes along and the person who was supposed to come had gotten into a car accident, so they sent a salesman, who could not answer the city’s questions to their satisfaction. Again, we had to wait until the next meeting, where we finally got approval. I only knew this because I called everyone I had been working with (the salesman, my MIA project manager, the install manager, and the head manager) to find out what was going on. After this point, no one was returning my calls or texts about scheduling an install date. Eventually, I called customer service and told them to forget about doing the project because the communication was so abysmal. They told me if I cancelled, I would lose my deposit. I told them I felt that was unfair because all the hiccups along the way were not my fault and if I can’t get a hold of anyone to install them what are we doing anyway? They told me someone would get back to me. Two days later, I get a message about setting up the install (we had already missed the projected date I wanted for install due to the lack of communication). They seemingly had no conversation about my wanting to cancel the project (which was not truly what I wanted but I thought I’d at least get someone’s attention). So we set up a date and I coordinated with the new project manager.
I will say at this point my experience with HG turned around. Andrew treated me like I was a valued customer and answered every text and every phone call. The install team did a great job with the siding but did not seem to understand how I wanted the gutters. However, Andrew handled it personally and got things to where I wanted them. I would probably have ranked HG 3 out of 5 stars had it not been for Andrew and the quality of the install. Their sales team really needs to streamline their process and work on their communication because that part was truly awful. In the end, the work was good and the end result looks great!

Home Genius Came out and replaced our roof and gutters. The roof came out great and the crew worked hard for a one day install. The gutters needed a follow up as they started to come off due to heavy winds but they sent someone same day to evaluate and fix it.

Home Exteriors did a great job replacing my roof and gutters and were very professional. Highly recommend to anyone looking to improve their home.

The young men who did the roof were very respectful, the worked together very well, and cleaned the grounds up when finished.

They performed an extensive inspection and explained all their findings (with pictures) leading to their recommendations. They were able to fit me into their appointment schedule right away. The job did not take long at all to complete. My new roof looks great!!

Excellent Attic Insulation Service!

I recently had my attic insulated, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. From start to finish, the team was professional, punctual, and incredibly knowledgeable. They walked me through the entire process, answered all my questions, and made sure everything was done to the highest standard.

Since the insulation was installed, I’ve noticed a big difference in the comfort of my home — it stays cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Even my energy bills have started to go down! The materials they used were top quality, and they left everything clean and tidy afterward.

Great experience, and worked with us to get our new roof with terms that work for our budget. The whole job was done in 2 days. Workers were very courteous, and cleaned up so well it was hard to see how much work was done.

the whole process of working with Home Genius was about as smooth as it could have possibly gone. I work for a roofing company and planned on doing my roof myself until the Rep showed me just how quick they could get it done without sacrificing the quality of the work. If i ever need another roof done ill be calling them back up.

The process with Home genius was smooth,no pressure to put in a contract for our roof repair. Jestin patiently walked through the roof/shingles replacement process. His knowledge of the product was outstanding. Hunter as project leader had open communication. The team worked hard during the 90+ temperature. We were pleased with cleanup. My garden area was untouched. Highly recommend. It took longer than expected for our down payment to get processed.

I had new vinyl siding put on the house and it looks really good. However, the weather did not cooperate and often interrupted the job. During these interruptions the crew left materials and lots of nails lying around the yard. There was a little damage that they had to fix and did pretty quickly. One big positive was Mike, the job manager. He was very responsive and ready to fix problems. Thanks, Mike! On the not so positive side, I wanted to ask the salesman a question about my military discount, but he never responded to my call or text. Side note: I'm always dubious about home improvement companies that say they offer military discounts. How do I know if I'm really getting a discount if I don't know what they charge everyone else and they don't give me a detailed bill?

Quick and easy process. My new roof is so beautiful ❤️ I highly recommend the intake vents. I noticed a difference right away since my attic was around 150 degrees. Big thanks to my project manager, Mike for keeping things on target. :-)

Our project had some communication snags at the start, but the project itself turned out beautifully and our project manager was great to work with.

Do not let Sales have you believe a job like siding a whole house can be done in 1 day, or that a dumpster will be on site for the tear down, or even that the crew will be larger than 2-4 people on site (all things Sales promised, but not realistic).

Our crew did an excellent job of tear down, siding, and cleanup. They took down all the light fixtures and replaced a couple with new ones I had on hand. They even put the address numbers back on the house!

Overall, very pleased with the end result and would recommend Home Genius. Just make sure to have a realistic expectation for project work regardless of what Sales may promise!

I had a roof inspection and was lied to saying the under boards were mildewing and the hole roof needed replaced. Then when they were replacing they argued and proved that the boards were just green and very solid.
It's been about a year and my roof is still leaking and I can not get help.
At one point was told "go ahead and report me. I am the boss and I'll throw the report away"
Once I found the real boss he ignored all my issues and I still have a leaking roof!

Wrote this review and got a phone call. Upon returning the call the receptionist didn't know how to connect me to the person that reached out. Confusion throughout the whole company.

We contracted with Home Genius Exteriors for new windows and siding. Materials and workmanship were first-rate. HGE project management visited daily to ensure things stayed on track and to resolve any issues. We recommend HGE for work in any of their specialty areas.

Aaron has been the most amicable and genuinely nice home remodeling expert with whom I have ever worked. Whereas I was only expecting to receive an estimate for a roofing project, he was so knowledgeable and thorough and comfortable to engage with, taking multiple photos of damaged roofing, attic and chimney issues, that I felt comfortable signing a contract with Home Genius Exteriors the same day. He provided financing options, and options for roofing at the time. He was also able to evaluate a very difficult multileveled roof with gables and dormers, and low pitched added-on sections. Every individual associated with this company has been kind, compassionate and understanding. We feel we received a great product, great price, great installation, great communication, and great customer service every step of the way. This is significant, because we had some personal issues during this process, and they worked with us until we were ready to proceed. These guys are all (truly - ALL of them!) so wonderful to deal with that I want to make them all personal friends. (I won't for their sake! :) ) But, that's how much they impressed us.

Andrew and his assistant Micheal were professional and courteous throughout the whole project of my new roof. I highly recommend them for any of your projects in the future.

The two employees did a tremendous job. I would ask them to work on any job for me and I will recommend them people I know how well they work.

We believe if it wasn’t for Andrew, the job would not have got completed to our satisfaction. He made sure everything was taken care of that. The other project manager did not handle. We are very satisfied with our roof at this time and would recommend Andrew to take care of all problems.

What a disaster from start to finish. I had scheduled an estimate for last Saturday at 6pm for siding, windows & gutters. Saturday morning I got called into work & reached out to home genius to reschedule the estimate. They told me no problem, the salesman would reach out to reschedule it. Never heard from him (& no contact phone number provided) so of course he showed up at 6. Really wasn’t feeling it after a long, unexpected day at work, but he assured me it would be a quick process, since I had provided him a listing of all windows, siding & gutter needs from a different quote. Our salesman was Brody. After noticing my husbands work jacket, he tried to make a personal connection by saying he knew the owner of the company & was best friends with his son (he’s gonna try to use this later).After showing him the materials list he went out to his truck to put the estimate together & after an hour came back inside. He wanted to show us the “priority list” which to him, was windows & gutters. He showed us a video drone he had taken of the gutters & tried to scare us on the urgency of the project. When we asked for the estimate, he said he wasn’t done writing it up yet, he just needed to show us the drone footage. So back outside he went. Came back in about 40 min this time & gave us a dollar amount for windows & gutters, but not a word on siding. At this point he became fairly pushy about getting the gutters & siding done. We let him know we wanted to see the entire package, windows, gutters and siding. So, back out to his car he went, mentioning it wouldn’t take much longer for the siding quote. At this point it’s nearing 2 hours since he arrived & we still don’t have what we asked for. After about 15 min he comes back inside. Finally we have an estimate on siding. We have a complete estimate on what work we wanted done. But, we can’t physically look at the estimate, it’s just on this tablet. We can’t see what is included, what may end up being extra. We can just look at the final price while he’s holding his tablet. Now the fun starts. See, Brody’s a 20 something kid. He thinks he can walk into your house & get you to spend $100k right then & there without even discussing the scope of the project & materials. He’s so good at this that he’s confident he will get you to finance this much needed project with no discussion, no thought & on a whim after basically no information provided in the quote. He’s getting really pushy. He’s not taking the very nice hint that we are done with this conversation & that we are not signing any contracts tonight. He just keeps pushing & pushing. He’s being fairly disrespectful in the questions he’s asking us. It’s been 2 hours since he arrived. We’re tired, we’re annoyed & this guy won’t freaking shut up. I can see out of the corner of my eye my husband getting angry. Uh oh, it’s gonna happen, he’s gonna unleash on this guy. He explodes. “Look, brody. I’m not sure what part you don’t understand, but we are not signing any contracts tonight. We need time to look over the estimate, process the information & discuss our plan of attack. We don’t just drop $100k without a lot of consideration.” Whoa, Brody’s taken aback by my husbands outburst & apologizes. But he still keeps trying to argue us into signing this contract At this point I say to him, please can you just email me the estimate. We will review it & see which way we want to go. Oh, sure thing he says, I’ll email these right over to you. Thankfully, mercifully, we shuffle him out the door. He’s been here for 2 hours, didn’t even have to measure a single window or anything. We head upstairs to get ready to relax. Come back down about 15 minutes later & he’s STILL sitting in our driveway About an hour later, he sends me a text message saying he didn’t realize my husband knew (owner of his company’s son) so well & that he can now offer friends & family pricing on the windows & gutters, but we need to schedule that before May 28. Two days later, still no written estimate! AVOID this company at all costs.

Everyone was so professional! They did not let a little rain (really alot) stop them from completing my roof. My new roof looks fabulous! I can't wait until they do my siding! 10/10 recommend!!!!

Andrew was a pleasure to work with. He stopped by the work site often to check up on the work and his employees. The crew did an excellent job installing my siding. It looks great! Andrew Always ask me if there was anything that I needed or that he could do, I really appreciate that. He is definitely a go-to guy if you have any questions he has all the answers. Very knowledgeable. Very pleased with his being project manager.!

Home Genius Exteriors definitely took care of my roof replacement. Brody educated me about attic ventilation and although a little bit more money than the other 4 contractor estimates, they are worth every penny! The team was very professional, kept good communication, was here before 7am and done by the afternoon. I will use them again!!!

They were able to get my roof replaced just a few days after signing the contract. Everyone I've communicated with has been very pleasant and professional. The estimate was thorough and the representative was excellent (Josh??). There was a minor delay with the paperwork but Andrew was very responsive and pleasant to work with. I highly recommend.

Home Genius was a great experience and did fantastic work. The estimate was done on a Monday by David . He went in my attic and on the roof so he could find the issues. He showed me proof with images so I could clearly see them. Materials were dropped off on a Wednesday. The crew came early the next morning and quickly had the old roof off. They took care in their work and my yard. The gutter were done the next day by a different crew and they had the same high standards on their work and on my yard. Riley came and did my walkthrough and we were both extremely happy with work.

Everyone was extremely wonderful and so fast. I just love this company so much, this roof and siding is so beautiful. Brody, Walter, and Andrew were so kind and answered all our questions. Thank you so much Home Genius !!

My fiancé schedule Home Genius Exteriors to stop by our house to quote a couple rows of siding to be removed. The sales person said it is standard business practice to do an entire siding inspection make sure everything looked good. Decided that our entire siding needed replaced for an initial quote of $40k. Two minutes later came back inside and said he could do it for $25k. The whole time not even quoting what was requested. Sales guy tried to scare my fiancé into thinking that the siding was completely ruined and at risk for a huge mold problem. Being very pushy, continued to insist that she must sign today, and that his boss was already mad at him for not closing the deal. She called me (I work in construction) and I told her to tell him to leave before she called the cops. We had a new company come out to explain that the entire siding looked to be in perfect condition, and wouldn't even recommend replacing what we thought needed it!

I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt and talk to him before writing a poor review. However, after emailing and calling customer service requesting a call back from the sales person I still have not heard back.

I had a new roof put on and the roof is great. However there was some issue with my gutter guards, Ray took immediate action on what I needed to have the problem resolved. He also made sure that I received the photos showing the workmanship that was done on my roof. He kept in contact with me continually and followed up to make sure that everything was correct and I was happy.

Just had my new roof installed. I'm extremely satisfied with the whole experience from the estimate to the final inspection with Matt. The team arrived promptly and finished quickly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend Home Genius Exteriors to anyone looking for a new roof. Thank you for doing such a great job!

We used Home Genius Exteriors for our roof! The whole team from start to finish was super professional, prompt, and very detail oriented! Cant wait to have them back to redo our siding. They got the job done pretty fast, without compromising quality…and when they finished the clean up was immaculate!

May 19 2025 Update: Google reviews work! Even though no one had reached out from my email, Andrew had reached out after seeing my review and scheduled time to stop by the house early on the 15th. He seemed very knowledgeable about roofing in general and got up on the roof to walk around and compare inspection notes and what he saw on the roof. He reassured me that there were no errors he saw and that any callouts were purposeful. He actually took caulk and repaired the missing caulk on one of the gutters as noted by inspection. Very friendly and very frank about everything. I appreciated the quick follow up from the review (after a week of waiting!)

May 12 2025 update:i had a new inspection and they noted several areas of improper flashing and missing water seals around the venting. May 6- I sent the photos and report details to the HGE team i dealt with and they have yet to respond.

This is my first home so learn from my mistakes. Im fearful this company is eager to get your money and relying on you having minimal knowledge. Its tough to price match when everyone has their own schtick.. (i challenge if this was their own crew they flew out to owens corning for days of training based on inspection results and neighbors telling me they found shingles and debris in their yard after) on the surface with no understanding of what to look for it ended up being okay but
get many quotes and don't be rushed my the sales pitch. For the cost you should understand completely what work they will do or not.Read all the reviews and maybe get friends and neighbors to refer who they used (i didnt know mine well yet but don't be shy! ) i doubt ill hear from this company but I'll send an update if i do

The team that came out was so hard working. They finished our big job in 1 day they worked threw lunch when I bought them lunch. They ate while working. I would hire them any time. Their work was top notch. They cleaned up and you could not tell our roof was just replaced, based on our yard. If you need a new roof. Sign up now!!!° you will not regret it

A good experience from beginning to end. The quote was very thorough - showing areas that were of concern. The communication was spot on. The materials and crew arrived expeditiously. The old roof was taken off and the new roof installed in one day. The crew cleaned up very well. The Project Managers were hands-on, inspecting the roof to assure that it was properly installed and made sure it met our expectations.
There were a few hiccups, but they were remedied to our satisfaction. They were determined to make sure that the customer was happy, and we were. I would use them again and would recommend them to others.

I appreciated working with the home remodeling expert and project manager for the new roof and gutters on my house. Despite a few hiccups with the crews, the end result looks great!

Things were great from the inspection to the install. The employees are very friendly and happy to answer any questions.

It was a delight to collaborate with Bill from Home Genius Exteriors on a roofing project that unexpectedly expanded in scope. Bill demonstrated utmost professionalism and was receptive to all my queries both during and after the installation process.

Still have not gotten the permit I was promised. I contacted the columbus branch supervisor and the project manager. Initially I was promised that a installation permit will be issued and provided upon installation. Still nothing and no update in that regard.
