Aubuchon Hardware - Putnam, CT

While in the parking lot of this business I ordered a grill and tank. Upon walking into the business it was ready for me at the pick up area. The whole transaction took less than 10 minutes and an associate even helped me to my car with the grill.

Person at the counter researched the best glue or epoxy for the application I needed it for. He did an excellent job helping to find the exact 2 part epoxy that I would need.

My boyfriend and I were absolutely pleased with our service from Darren and Gina.
Darren helped my boyfriend with a speaker stand that seemed to be missing a piece- it wasn’t, but he (Darren) discovered it within the stand’s pipe, and helped assemble it.
Gina cut a key, and helped me decide on birdseed -
Both were pleasant, friendly, and helpful.
Will happily be back!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Aubuchon's Hardware, and I was pleased with the service I received from a young man named Jacob. I was greeted as soon as I walked into the store. I was looking for a bucket to fill with sand, but was surprised to find rock salt as well. The associate helped me find the right salt and scoop to help us get through the rest of the winter.

Refilled my small Ignik propane tank with NO hassles. Tractor Supply sells these, but won’t fill them… I’ll stick with Aubuchon’s!

Emily was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She helped me find everything I needed and even assisted me in changing out a battery. Thank you, Emily!

This morning 2.6.2025 i went in to the store to have two keys made and discovered a few more things items needed than keys a lady working was eager top help me find these items that I could not clearly see or know where exactly they were the lady friendly named Gina helped my purchase go well and was out the door swiftly with the needed items.Craig for mother Lianne and brother Micheal that shopped at aubuchon hardware since ever it existed or we did are grateful for the stores existance in Putnam , Ct. Great curbside pick up! Especially when it’s 3 50 lb bags of salt! My order was brought out & loaded into my car in less than 5 minutes, start to finish!

Went there Sunday morning upon them. Opening at 8:00 a.m. looking for a relief valve for my hot water furnace. I asked a heavyset gentleman with glasses where they would be, his reply was if I have any it should be an aisle one or two. Probably. Having no luck. No customer assistance whatsoever. Didn't offer to help me. Didn't want to come over there. He was too worried about some kind of paperwork he was playing with and I just walked out at that point. Terrible, terrible service. Even as I exited the store he looked dead nut at me didn't even say a word. Very unfortunate at this place. Used to be great. But going forward I'll have to shop somewhere else.

Sidenote: a young man, employed here, about 35ish, lean, brown hair was helping customers load cars. He noticed I was slumped over in my car. After 2 glances he came over to see if I was okay and offered me to sit in the store. I was awaiting medication from Walgreens, nextdoor, told him I wasn't feeling well. He went out of his way to comfort me. You can bet I'll shop here forever. Thank you so very much.

Excellent customer service from Jacob. I was looking for bird seed, and he brought me right over to the area, carried my selection to the registers, and then out to my car. Very pleasant young man!! An asset to the store

I purchased a can of paint and it just did not look right on my front door… They were so nice about fixing the color for me! Super appreciated!

Excellent store, they always have what you need, and a whole lot more of the things you don't really need but really want! LOL they are always eager to help, and they do a great job. It's worth a trip.

Whenever I go to Aubuchon for whatever I need it is there, plus I have found something that I haven't been able to find anywhere else, like a certain size furnace filter! Great store!!

I went and had two keys copied. They were done quickly and they got it right on the first try. I didn't have to have them re-cut. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful!

Amazing service helping me to find very specific parts for my stove. Excellent, prompt friendly help. Great selection of everything. I am relatively new to this area and this business will be my go to hardware store. Outshines all the chain stores that I frequented in RI.

I was there a few days ago and I am happy to say that they still have excellent service and helpful staff.

Stopped here to have spare keys made for my 01 F150. They had 2 available. The nice young lady made one and asked me to to check that it worked. It was good. She made the second key. When she rang up the purchase, I was shocked at the price of $169.29. I asked her to repeat it. The keys have a security microchip. I immediately checked Amazon for a cost comparison for the key blank alone. 2 chip keys for my vehicle, $16.00. How do you justify a 10000percent mark up?

Most of the associates are knowledgeable about the stock and helpful. The Manager was particularly helpful to me. The parking is ample. The stock is extensive. One can earn credits toward future purchases, which is nice.

I can always count on the help and knowledge of Aubuchon Hardware in Putnam, CT. Store Manager Crocker has helped me with many difficult situtaion, without his help I would not have been able to acheive my needs. Staff are also willing to give advise to get you what you need. Before going to a box store, my first place is Aubuchon Harware!

Oh I like this hardware store better than the big box stores because of the personal service. My husband had to find a tiny screw for and unusual curtain rod and he was able to get it with the help of one of your guys. Also, I can get my lamps fixed there!

This is my favorite hometown hardware store. They are always pleasant and helpful. I often have strange hardware requests and they can always help me find a solution for whatever project I'm working on.

I went in yesterday and they helped me remove a statue from a stone base. I don't have a socket set and that's what was required. I didn't want to buy one, and they helped me anyway. WITH A SMILE!
