Niemann Ace Hardware - Whitewater, WI

I recently went to both the Whitewater and Fort Atkinson Ace Hardware stores looking for a 3/8 " masonry bit to install a flatscreen TV at church. I couldn't find one at the first store and when I asked, they help me looked without success. At the second store, I asked an employee before looking and he gave a blank stare so I went and looked on my own with no results. I avoid going to box stores but finally went to Menards and was successful in finding one. I have shopped and have made a point of shopping at both local Aces for years and have always been happy with the service and inventory. ?

Ace Hardware in Whitewater really is “ The place for the helpful hardware people!” Nice well stocked store and super helpful employees.

Ace Hardware is the place to go when you want the job done right the 1st time. Very friendly helpful people. I would like to see a little more " inflation fighting" to help the customers. The Quality of products & the selection &service is unsurpassed however.

Friendly staff who are ready to help. Rented a uhaul from the mandatory they seemed to make the process easy.

Absolutely great experience with Mike Cronin from the second I walked into store I asked for help with my project Mike made sure I understood what I was buying and helped me get everything I needed in one trip he then double checked everything to make sure I was good to go even told me to call store if I couldn't figure it out he'd walk me through step by step if needed hands down the best customer service I've ever encountered with Ace he is definitely an asset to this location

Mike went out of his way to help me fix my heat this last winter when I was freezing and couldn't get help from my landlord. Staff has always been amazing but this man went above and beyond!

This is an excellent pet store and what I love about it is I can give my dog a bath by myself there with those with their self-serve shower for dogs. The staff is really nice. It's just a really nice store

These places are valuable to people like me that have hard to find items. They definitely deserve the credit for having a huge selection of odd and ends, and small hardware that you can't find at a big box store!

Helpful staff, equipment & tools to rent, selection is good. A few days ago I came, staff quickly helped me find special weather proof nuts & bolts, and was checked out within a few minutes of arrival, leaving me more time to get home to do repairs. This has been similar to equipment rental. Asked if they had XYZ for rent, they did. I got garden ready for planting. Easy return & checked out happy. Big box stores don't compare on these sorts of services.

We are a 32 year rental company in Whitewater and Steve has always been our best asset for anything we need for our rentals. We have purchased hundreds of appliances from Winchester True Value and they are the best in customer service, speed, and price. I couldn't recommend them more.

Very bad experience. Customer service does not exist. Buy a product and you should know the price ??? The employees are not friendly at all and they look at everyone as if they were thieves entering their store to steal their treasures. If you need something better go Menards or The Home Depot.

Hometown hardware stores are important. Everyone should try to use them when possible. Otherwise it's off to big box stores everytime you need something quick and easy. Also it's nice if you have a question or need advice.

I give this store in due time closing their doors. The only Hardware store in town high priced. Most of the employees are very good and helpful. This is the problem, We took a screen door screen in the have it re-screened. We dropped it off on a Sunday and was told the person who does the screening will be in on Tuesday and he only had one screen ahead of ours and they would call when it was done. Wednesday came and no call so I called and was told it was not done and was told it would be the first thing Thursday morning. Got a call in the afternoon it was done. I was already gone in the afternoon on vacation and told them that I would pick it up on Monday. Went on Monday to get it and the screen was put in so tight the frame would not stay straight and the new screen was already ripped in two corners. I had them re-screen it again. Tue picked up the pathetic loose still ripped screen. No charge wow thanks for the free re-screen the rubber on two corners is one inch short and it so loose I took pictures but can’t post them. And the screen is still ripped on one side about 2” . They were actually going to charge me for two screens the one guy came up and said free of charge no idea why the person’s that re-screened even charged us for it. I will be taking our re-screened loose ripped screen somewhat else to have it redone again. .

First major snow and our snowblower died. Staff picked up the blower for a reasonable fee , dealt with the problem, and delivered it back a day later!! The service is amazing and appreciated. Thank you!

This place is great. Worth going here for the service. They have rentals, good.mix of stuff and its a small business. Shop there. Want to save a nickle? Drive to a big box in Janesville and spend more in gas. Good people great business.

Great staff.. I still like going to Lowes when I know what I want.. and am not bothered by the dozens of unhappy employees roaming the aisles who never ask if you need something:)) But when you want Real service and friendly people that actually care. You come here. Real Old School retail! Worth the drive every time...

Selection was good and staff were polite. Once had to have a a key copied but it did not work.

Apparently they don’t like it when you look around, these associates are like used car salesmen. I’m walking through the stores after picking up what I came to get, then this kid actually runs towards me as I’m clearly walking away to ask if I need any help. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to help me as he didn’t understand the concept I was trying to relay to him. I just wanted a spot light for my flag pole. Then moving on, I’m walking along and I see a product that might fit the bill. I have a lady ask me if I needed any help. I say no thank you. Then she just stares me down as I walk to the register. Not even 5 seconds later, another dude asks me if I need any help. At this point, I figure it’s an inside joke. I tell him no thank you, I can find my own way out and no need to rush me...I’m leaving. What, did I fit the profile of a shoplifter or something?!

Well I left for good, you’ve absolutely lost my business. No wonder places like Walmart are running places like yours in the ground.

Steve will ask you how he can help you within your first two steps in the door and can generally find you what you need in one minute. We had them fill some helium balloons for a part and we've rented carpet cleaners from here. They have most things that you'd expect from a small hardware store. They also have an old guy, Carey, in the back who can fix small engines.
