Our townhouse burned and had to be gutted and roof and Trusses replaced. I asked for special designs and improvements on the rebuild. BluSky came through with a beautiful finished product. They answered the phone and came to the house if we had a question or needed something perfected. We are very pleased with our rebuilt townhouse!

I don't do reviews, but when you are in a situation to need mold restoration and you find a company that made the experience not just pleasant, but easy, I feel BluSky earned the review. This company from the project manager, Abby and onsite coordinator, Wallace kept me informed at all times. They were on-time, provided detailed photos and write up of every days activities and did all the work with the insurance company. They made an awful experience easy. They took on all the hard work and I took a deep breath. When I walked back in, I couldn't believe how great the house looked. Thank you BluSky for everything you do. I wish all home repair contractors were as easy to work with as you. I am sure there are many companies to choose from and the work will get done, but it's the people that made all the difference and BluSky has one AMAZING team! Highly recommend them!!

I would NOT recommend Blusky to dig a post hole! In my experience, Blusky has been the worst contractor to work with. They started off on a positive note and were friendly...said all the right things. However, it was bait & switch. After I signed the work authorization and paid my several thousand dollar deposit, nothing....and I mean NOTHING happened for 8 weeks. When they finally DID send subcontractors to do the work, it was not done well. (Twice they came back to make improvements...and BOTH were terrible) I refused to give them a 3rd try to correct the problems. Better off to have hired a day-laborer to do the work.
I did express my concerns and frustration to the project director and the project manager....they are well aware of my opinions of their shoddy work. DO NOT HIRE BLUSKY in Roanoke, VA or anywhere else. Oh...and don't get me started on their invoicing and price gouging with my home owner's insurance!! RUN away from Blusky - pay attention to the negative reviews...RED FLAGS!!

Sheab and Laurie from BluSky did an excellent job handling a challenging repair project tied to an insurance claim during a pending home sale. Their creative approach and ability to manage tight timelines and multiple parties were impressive. Great work, BluSky!

How about you teach your employees not to lean and sit on other peoples cars when they’re having a break. Came out of the ER to find 4 of your employees leaning against and sitting on my girlfriends car. Didn’t even get an apology when I asked them if they could please not lean against my car.
Shows a lot about how professional this company must be.

After a traumatic time with a plumbing failure Allstate recommended these people. Laurie came out and wanted to only do a "change order" and never gave me an estimate for flooring upgrades. She did give an amount but never an estimate. When we finally got ready she dropped us. Clearly she did not like someone who pays attention. A blessing indeed. DO NOT SIGN THE WORK AUTHORIZATION WITHOUT FIRST HAVING YOUR LAWYER READ IT. If you have a 18,000 estimate and they anger you on day one with no work being done - you fire them you still owe them $5400.00 I can't say if it is Blusky or Laurie but since she represents them it must be Blusky. Avoid at all cost. At a minimum read everything, make them put it all in writing and when you do be ready to be dropped.

Our small business got slammed by the Christmas Eve polar vortex, which resulted in a burst water pipe. BluSky arrived soon after and we are really happy they did. We were lucky enough to have Josh Jackson and Eric Garces as our team leads and they did an awesome job. Make no mistake.... this is dirty, difficult, complicated and potentially dangerous work.

Their team worked with us side by side to remediate this crazy mess. Nobody wants to have to go through an experience like this, but having Josh, Eric and their crew on this job really helped a lot.
Thanks BluSky!

Have been displaced from our home for over 5 weeks and counting. We were told by the Project Manager we would be able to return home after 1 week. It has taken them over a month to complete a tiny 50sqft bathroom (replaced some drywall due to water damage, install vanity and vinyl tiles). Still have yet to paint. Our heating/ac unit is still unhooked, flooring in the kitchen and hallway has yet to even begin. The carpenter does such a great job and always makes sure things are correct. He does great work, but he can only do so much when he is able to be at our property, which is not very often. Would not reccomend.
Very dissatisfied with the time allotted.

Work was good after returning 4 times to fix or complete what wasn't done. Billing errors over and over. We received a certified letter stating they were going to put a lien on our property if we didn't pay invoice within 10 days (which was already paid). Sent them banking records. Myla Pingol said they were sorry and yes we had paid. We let our insurance company know which let us know they've had other complaints and will not be using them again, neither will we. Shame on you for sending a threatening letter.

When our rental property suffered significant water damage in two units due to a broken water pipe, we were in new territory, having never filed any insurance claim or worked with any contractor in 12 years of ownership. BluSky was one of two contractors we had give an estimate, and their leadership and persistence in wanting the contract as well as follow-up through a lengthy insurance delay won them the contract. Their employees were very professional, reaching out regularly, meeting us multiple times, making sure all of our questions were answered and that we were getting what we wanted in the repairs. They were flexible and accommodating. Specifically, I cannot speak highly enough of Jonathan. He pushed through many obstacles on our behalf, kept us up to speed on progress, fought for quality work by the sub-contractors, and was willing to drop anything and meet us at the property or even jump in and do the work himself. He was amazing! Super thankful for all the work BluSky did!

We found ourselves trying to figure out what to do after the basement of our rental property flooded, ruining the carpet and who knows what else! This was after a monster rain event, so everyone in town was trying to call to get help too. The people at BluSky were quick to respond, had great communication and kept me apprised of the progress through all the steps. They made it so easy to work through the solution and took so much stress off of my shoulders. Great to work with, great communication, great experience. I would definitely recommend!!

I was more than pleased with the work performed on my home. Jonathan Rosenboom was extraordinary with his care, consideration and attention to detail. You have an excellent employee and if I ever need your firm again, I will ask specifically for Mr. Rosenboom. He's that good.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
