Best Choice Roofing - Grove City, OH

I hired this company to perform my roof replacement after seeing the reviews in google. I hired them to do the job for insurance payment options. However, now they are saying that it is a Retail option and I will need to pay it from my pocket. They don't care if I get it paid or not from Insurance, but they want it to be paid in full by this week inspite of their sales person being on all the communcations with my insurance company and they all know that I am going thru Insurance. Their customer service is so rude and would not even listen to me. Never expected this from Best Choice Roofing. Not sure if this is a Best or Worst Choice Roofing.

Jackson Thomas was great he give Great price and follow thought with game plan.Office did great job get sch call me let they would be here.crew was great take off old roof and found some bad plywood replace it.Found 1 plywood that hole burn in it look like fire work land on it set side so i could see it.Did great job clean up.person in charge here 2 time check on crew and here on when they compete job long JACKSON THOMAS HERE On complete job for walk round inspection make sure that I that happen with work.Best thing said about JACKSON THOMAS THAT go great detail about they going start to finish on job.I talk 3 time job was done and he want to make sure i like work done. These guys are true professionals. They arrived when they said they would, got to work right away and finished in just a few hours.
I have had a number of passersby complement my nice roof. And me, I know I made the best choice.

Everyone I worked with was polite. The crew was efficient and cleaned up after themselves. It took nearly 3 months from the time they had me sign the paperwork til the roof was actually done, but that was mainly due to the time of year and the weather.

Seth was amazing doing a thorough inspection, taking a video and explaining what was wrong with our roof. He was very knowledgeable and professional in doing his inspection and going over his findings and recommendations with us. We really appreciated him and his willingness to help us.

We had a terrible experience with this company. It started off positively, but once we had made the down payment, communication completely broke down. On the day of the work, we were told that we'd suddenly owe an additional $3700 dollars for decking work. We refused, and were told we would then not receive a warranty on the work. When we refused again, we were told "oh, we can actually repair the rotted parts for $200."

Unknown to us, they submitted an amendment to our insurance company for $3000 after the fact and threatened to put a lien on our house if we didn't hand over the check, even though they only did $200 additional work, last we heard.

They refused to provide itemized bills (or bills at all, until it's paid). They also left leftover materials sitting in our yard for more than two weeks, not returning our messages about it.

As far as I'm concerned, they are grifters and are being reported to the BBB.

Learnin Noble came to our house to inspect our roof, and was very thorough. He discussed with us our options for our roofing needs. Very professional, very knowledgeable. Will be doing business this spring!

Tanner with Best Choice Roofing took great care of us, a true professional. Following severe weather in 2023, Tanner inspected all my investment properties, and discovered three suffered significant damage. He also photo documented my other properties in case of future damages for additional insurance claims. He made the process easy and seamless, dealing with the insurance agent and forwarded documentation as needed. This ensured timely payments from the insurance company to issue full payment to Best Choice Roofing. The process was painless because of Tanner and his help. He was hands on with his crews, constantly keeping us informed on progression through text messaging and pre/post photos. Their work is top notch. Tanner routinely went back to the job sites, even after the jobs were completed, to address any small punch out items noticed by the tenants. He was also proactive informing of us of any non-related maintenance issues that needed to be addressed by our management company. Despite delays related to insurance adjusters, weather, and/or special order materials, Tanner made sure the jobs were moving forward to completion, and consistently informed us along the way. I will be using Tanner and his team again for our next roofing needs. Be confident with Tanner as your advocate and the process with him.

Had roof replaced. Looks good but since I'm not a roofer I do not know If correct?
Communication from start til even now has not been good
Nothing in original invoice that said would be charged $75 for additional OSB board. Was told might need a few boards and should be 500 or 600. Was told 4 included in invoice, altho not stated in invoice
. Then got bill for over $2000 after I told the salesman I didn't have extra thousands. Said I could finance and, after the fact was told had 4 months to pay it off
Roof finished. Clean up wasn't great. Instead of dumpster, used a trailer and now have big rut in my yard. Was told, like 2 weeks ago, they would bring dirt and fill it in, that has not happened.
Came to agreement to take 200 off if paid cash. It has been paid. Asked for original and extra invoices showing "paid in full" and havent gotten that. Asked for receipts showing they purchased additional 30 OSB boards, haven't gotten that. Was told had pictures showing what they used, haven't gotten that. Needless to say, my first experience with a roofing contractor has not been great
The communication was nonexistent and I still don't have what was discussed

Been weeks. Got my rut filled up with topsoil, but no other contact, and no invoices or receipts. How hard is sending paperwork?

Still haven't heard from anyone and I still dont have the papers I requested

4 months ago said they'd contact me and that still hasn't happened. Hope I don't have issues with my roof cause they will probably not be addressed

My husband and I had an inspection with Daniel D. He was very informative and took time going over the roof. He explained all the details in his inspection and answered all of our questions.

Dan helped me get a new roof through my insurance. He made the whole process super easy. I would definitely recommend this company for anyone needing a new roof.

We used this company for an older structure with several issues that needed addressed. They took their time to understand our priorities and did a great job, and got it completed faster than we expected. I would recommend them to friends.

Not a professional company, did not communicate throughout the whole process other than when to collect their checks. Never showed up at times given was always late, I don't have faith the roof was done correctly. Definitely look for another company if you want someone to be reliable, and communicate through the process.

Update 12/11/23 The company called me today offered $250 for me to "amend" my review which makes me wonder about the other reviews on here.

Let me first say that the quality of the metal roof that I have looks beautiful and I will add pictures to show. I gave two stars versus one star only because of the quality of work done. I would say that if you don't mind being charged for things that are not delivered based on the design, told multiple times. false information, no deadlines, this company is for you

I initially started with them in August and my HOA said they needed proof that they had a valid permit. They said that they would approve them doing the work with a valid permit. It then proceeded to take multiple weeks for them to get the permit, although they continued to tell me it was approved.

Once it was finally were approved. they said they ordered the, and I found out that was not true because a few weeks later they said they had miss estimated and in order to get the material they had to charge me 10% more. Although I went against my better judgment, Seth, the sales guy was extremely kind, professional and I really wanted to have faith that the company would be what Seth appeared to be.

The materials did not arrive until mid October and I was told that the team would be there 7:00 a.m. on Monday morning to get started. 7:00 a.m. came and went and the production manager; I won't say his name because he was literally the worst; however, in person a very kind man; but zero communication skills. zero follow through, and zero customer focus.

They finally got there on Tuesday and started the work. I was told it would be a couple of days...not. I told later that they were then at half staff and a few days turned into over a week. The crew made such a tremendous mess that paper and soot continue to blow through my neighborhood and into my neighbor's yards. so much that someone complained to the HOA and I was told I would be fined if it continued.

Guess who was out there picking up paper from neighbor's yards, not the crew but me, until they saw me and then they proceeded to try to help a little bit. Had I known that they were understaffed, perhaps I would have been a little more understanding; but at the same time they should have had someone cleaning up because I was cleaning up mess that had blown seven houses down.

Next, I would love to say the work is done, but it's not. They received payment because I paid half cash and the other half financed. I gave them my complete payment because there were smaller things left to do and said I would not sign off that the job is complete until the work was done, they process the paperwork like I signed off but I never had, needless to say, I was told they would be back on Thursday after they finish the bulk of the work on Tuesday; they never came. Then I was told they would come on Friday, they never did. Then I called the owner who called the general manager and he called me and promised me that the work would be done today and that the crew would be there at 9:00 a.m.. well, it is almost 1:00 p.m. the crew never showed and the general manager has not responded to any of my communications. The production manager responded and said they think they can get there between 3:00 and 4:00. again getting the run around but they didn't have a problem cashing my check.

I sent a communication to the owner and have still not heard anything. if you want to deal with a professional company that honors its word, honors deadlines and gives you what you pay for, then this is NOT the company for you. If you don't care about deadlines, getting exactly what you paid for, no honor and unprofessional but amazing end result , then this is exactly the company for you.

I can honestly say that if I had to rate the quality of the roof. it would be almost five star, if I had to rate the sales guy, it would be four star; if I had to rate everything else it would be zero to one star.
The pictures show the beautiful final result but also the outstanding work that I'm still waiting to be completed...

We had a sales person named Carter. She did beyond amazing when it came to helping us with our roof!!! she made three different trips out to our house, which was over an hour. Drive each direction! She was very helpful! She was very polite! She followed up with any questions that we had very quick! We recommend her as a sales person to anyone looking for a new roof! The company did an amazing job! The job only took one day. They did amazing clean up afterwards you would never even know they were here!

Never any problems throughout our entire process. Very quick to get back with you on any questions or concerns. And to top it off our roof looks great!

We got a roof replacement due to storm damage and could not be more pleased with Best Choice Roofing. Carter and Dan facilitated the no pressure sale and were attentive and down to earth. Carter, especially, showed care and consideration throughout the process, knowing we were caring for a sick family member in our home. The work crew was timely, fast, polite and super clean. There wasn’t a single bit of debris anywhere, and they took care with our TREX deck. We are highly satisfied with the work, the product, and the team at BCR. We wish every home repair company was this easy to work with.

I needed to repair or replace my roof due to age and recent wind damage. I normally chase off salespeople at my door, but Dan picked a good time to drop by. Dan closed the sale with me in 15 minutes by being genuine, polite and knowledgeable. Best Choice Roofing provided an awesome-looking roof on my house using high-quality materials. The job included matching shingles on my shed, all at a price that seemed more than reasonable to me.

Carlos and the installation crew were very hard-working and capable, as evidenced my how nice my roof looks from the curb. They protected my landscaping well during installation, and did a thorough clean-up afterward. Tanner supervised the installation and seemed to go out of his way to ensure that I was satisfied with the final product.

I have no complaints. Nice to have another quality choice for roofing services here in Columbus.

My experience with Best Choice Roofing Ohio was incredible. There office is full of great hard working people Dan, Tanner and Tammy are great! The final product is good, the process to get there was terrible once three days passed after signing. The crew just showed up one morning and we could not communicate with them. Tanner only showed up to collect a check at the end. He is a middle man with zero roof knowledge, yet he's supposed to be in charge of the crew. Lucky for him, the subcontracted workers do great work. Unfortunately for us, his lack of knowledge about roofing and poor communication resulted in three extra days of rework and a lot of headaches for us and the crew. We really wish we could have just worked and paid the crew.

If you want just another cut-rate, Columbus roofing company that gets the job done at a cut-rate price, go with BCF. Just be content with knowing that your going to have to stay on top of them the entire time and deal with some mishaps, including lots of nails, trash and sharp metal objects (including an open box cutter) throughout your yard for weeks to come.

And they do not care about your level of satisfaction.

Carter and Dan were very Honest, Helpful in assisting me during the whole process. I would HIGHLY recommend them to do your next roofing project.

Seth Triplett Has been very helpful. The only Sales Rep who wanted to deal with Allstate. I have many close friends in this business who help people make their homes look better by fixing and replacing roofs, but none were up to the challenge. At the end of the day Best choice Roofing got Allstate to do what’s right. Then Tanner’s team did a great a job with the installation. If I could give this company more than 5 stars I would, they were great to work with. From the start they were very professional, and communication was always excellent. Jackson was my main contact, Tanner was the jobsite point man, Tammy was in the office, and they were all great at their jobs. Their prices were better than others I received and that was using the best products available. I was concerned about the installation beforehand as I had a large roof with a complex structure but the crew that installed my new roof was absolutely amazing and could not have done a better job. Everything down to the last detail including cleanup was awesome!!! I would definitely recommend this company.

My experience with Best Choice Roofing and working with Dan was exceptional. He explained the process every step of the way, was available at all times to answer questions and help with insurance. Dan came out to be there when the insurance adjuster was inspecting the damage, the adjuster was over an hour late, so Dan had to leave. The adjuster of course showed up 10 minutes later, and I texted Dan to let him know, and he turned around and came back! The crew who installed the roof was great, clean, and accommodating to our needs. I would use them again in a heartbeat, and recommend them to all my friends and family.

The sales manager represented his company in a way that I was able to understand what problems I had and what needed to be done because of hail and storm damage. The team he sent to install a new roof were very efficient, and cleaned picked up debris from removing the old roof. The task was completed in a day.

Great company to deal with, Jaxson was absolutely amazing, Tanner was absolutely amazing as well. They were very professional dropped off the roofing shingles on time. We took damage towards the end of last year and talked to them, they helped us out, took a look at our roof and got in contact with our insurance. Do not sign anything they offer; there is no need to - they charge $500 if they don't get the job - to me that is a scam.
Done insurances also refuse to use them.
Look at reviews, some are horrible. No followup, Law suites, BBB and so on.
Customer relations is the core of any successful business which seems lacking here.
They have many locations, I guess who you end up with is luck of the draw.

The whole process from start to finish was easy to understand and the associates were all very knowledgeable, helpful and open to any questions. The on-site work was efficient and done in one day. They tell you that after the crew leaves, you won't know they were there, and they stood up to their word! Thanks for a beautiful new roof!!!
