Beware of taking a blade in for sharpening!Took in my flipper knife of two years to get it sharpened, and I got it back with a severe re-profiling of the knife. Now, its tip is rounded, the paint AND the wood handle is scuffed. Did more bad than good, and the sharpness is just OK for $7.56.

As always, with any Ace Hardware, very helpful staff and good selection. I love how you can buy only 5 nuts or bolts instead of the minimum box of 25 or 50 like the big home improvement chains. And many times, Ace will have tools they don't carry.

Plenty of household and yard items to shop for. If you are looking to do a project you should consider stopping by. The things keeping me from giving 5 stars are: high prices, rundown building, and above all you can tell they go heavy on the pesticide spray in their store ( I don’t mean the isle with insecticide I mean inside the whole store it smells strong). Maybe I went there at a bad time? I definitely recommend looking at the garden area though.

I've usually picked up what I need here, decent prices. The best days are when I can find an employee who kindly shows me where to find what I'm wandering around looking for.

I love hardware stores and this one is always good for what I need. I've shopped here for years. I have zero complaints. They're great.

This location too has poor customer service. I had to have been the only one there for several minutes looking all around the store with not one associate on site to ask for help until one person who seemed to be locked in their station offered assistance. I really try to stay away from the bigger stores but come on…

I brought in a kitchen drawer in pieces. I spoke to Monte at the 23rd location. He has fixed and directed me in the right direction many times. I asked if he could some how put it back together. He not only put it back together it looks brand new. You would never get this kind of personalized service at a big box store. Absolutely incredible job Monte!

We go here to get a fresh balsam Christmas tree and wreath every year as they are the only place I'm aware of that sells these (the wreath is Frasir, but that's OK). Lawrence is about an hour drive for us, but it's worth the trip for the smells that fill our living room every year! If we lived closer, I'd shop this hardware store for all my needs in that department.

This little gem of a hardware store is the place to go for all your home needs. Attentive and very helpful service! Unlike other hardware stores this gem has clerks approach YOU to ask if you're finding everything. Tim was the clerk who helped me and I'm unable to think of another hardware clerk so knowledgeable and helpful!

Staff there is incompetent I tried buying some dewalt stuff on sale they tried arguing with me saying it was not on sale when It Clearly was and i tried to show them they was all there, the gothic reject cashier said well were not gonna sell it for this price.

Westlake Ace Hardware Store is the nostalgic hardware store you remember visiting as a kid. Less hustle than a Home Depot and a more specific product selection than a Menard's, you'll easily find what you need. Plus, like the commercial says, the folks there really are very knowledgeable and helpful.

*Local Tip* This Ace Hardware Store actually has a Hallmark store inside of it. Surprisingly, it seemed to be a relatively fully stocked one, with not only cards but stationary and gifts as well (Disney, graduation, plush animals, etc.). They appear to have a section for Hallmark ornaments as well. As close as you're going to get to a Hallmark store in Lawrence.

I just got an Ego leaf blower. Great tool. Its battery and mine ran out about the same time. We're both recharging and will hit again soon.
