I believe many if not most of us want the same things from a handyman: To complete the improvement we need with skill, in a timely manner, and to keep us informed of any other problems they find like wood rot or termites. We also expect them to respect our property and to clean up their trash at the end of each day of work.
Homefix Lawrence checked all those boxes and more: The workers were friendly and gave us their attention when we talked to them. We were kept informed of what the next steps would be and of their arrival time for the next day. In short they exceeded our expectations. A HUGE shoutout to Lawrence HomeFix & David Prosser! I've been hearing rave reviews for months & kept his number close. Our back step from house to patio fell a part-a real hazard! I texted David yesterday with pic/explanation & he got back to me immediately! Then today with rainstorms all around he found a slot of time to come fix it & also tend to another small issue in our back. Can't say enough great things. I have a downspout that drains rain over our sidewalk and in the winter time it is a hazard. So I called Home Fix. David came out, took a look and said he could fix it. He put me on the schedule and today the job was done. And like many fix-it jobs, there was a problem. After discussing several things, David came up with a solution. I now have a downspout that drains under the sidewalk. During the whole process, David was always communicating with me and keeping me informed. His crew was very polite and friendly. Easy to work with.

Tanner with Homefix Lawrence did an excellent job on our deck face lift. He power washed and stained it and it looks great!! He was very friendly and easy to work with. The same is true with David when he fixed a window leak a couple months ago. Highly recommend them.

update: ive had them out to do a couple more jobs after the first and im still highly impressed and happy with the work. there were a couple of simple fix issues after one of the jobs that once I contacted him he came out promptly to fix. one of the jobs also was a little more than expected and he immediately informed me about the extra work that would need to be completed to ensure the fix was done correctly so that i could approve it. huge plus for transparency.

he was easy to work with, extremely fast to get the repair scheduled and completed and best of all his price was extremely fair. he will definitely be on my short list when i need something done.

Horrible experience. Subbed the work out to a crew that was inexperienced and couldn’t communicate (literally, the crew didn’t speak English at all). Charged us for 2 coats of paint and they only applied one. I asked for an itemized invoice and David told me I didn’t need one, I had an estimate (the bill was higher than the estimate) and if I didn’t pay he would sue me. David was rude, condescending and completely unprofessional. He even admitted that he was disrepectful and rude but said he was justified. ‍♀️ Refused to speak to my husband on the phone, would only text.

I have never come across a Contractor quite like Homefix. He loves his customers, he loves quality work. His work ethic is off the charts. he’s multitalented, and can find a solution for just about anything.

This young man is hard working. He donates to charities as well so if you hire him just know it going for good cause your place will look amazing

We have had Homefix Lawrence out twice to do odd jobs for us. They have been very professional & reasonably priced.
They have build steps off our deck, installed dog/cat doors, a new faucet, and hung many things including new light fixtures.
We will definitely keep using them for all our honey-dos so my husband doesn’t have to.

David just finished replacing a couple siding panels and trim with significant damage on our chimney, and it looks fantastic! His team was quick, attentive to detail, and we will absolutely work with them again for additional projects in the future.

Home Fix Lawrence came out and fixed our door from sticking and being difficult to open. It works like brand new now. He was also very easy to work with and happily fixed an overhead light out back as a last minute request while he was here. Highly recommend.

Two said they would give me bids but never did, one only made excuses and the other one said the job was too small. I finally posted on Facebook what I needed done and asked for recommendations. My husband & I had a really positive experience this week. We scheduled an appointment with Homefix Lawrence to have them check out a few odd jobs around our aging 1970s home and get some quotes. We've got our first baby on the way and our schedules are overflowing with prep work, so we really need to get some work knocked out. David showed up and proceeded to fix our old sliding glass door in ~10mins or so, showed us how to address the issue in the future, and didn't want to charge us for the work he did! Needless to say, we'll be having them back out to do some more work. We were both really impressed with that level of service.

I highly recommend Homefix Lawrence. David and his crew are extremely professional, kind, and they do quality work. They have completed four separate jobs for me. And I’ve already scheduled a fifth. David has always communicated well, been flexible with the mode of communication that works best for me, arrived on time, and completed the jobs in a quick time frame. Their work has exceeded my expectations.

David goes above and beyond. He left one of my jobs to purchase additional materials that were needed when my new door didn’t fit perfectly into my old home. He was thoughtful and purchased near identical materials and stain and completed the extra work on the spot. On the same day, I had a different service technician working on a different project in my home, and David offered to help when that technician ran into a problem. David saved that technician time which ensured my other service was completed on the same day. He didn’t need to offer to help, but he did. This says a lot about David’s character and willingness to help his customers with anything they need to fix their homes.

It is very apparent that David cares about and takes pride in his work. I truly feel that the Homefix crew works on my home as if it was theirs.

Had our first experience with homefix Lawrence absolutely phenomenal job. The giant windstorm came through damaged Our fence called and spoke with David the next morning. His first question was do you have pets told him? Yes we have two Jack Russell’s and he immediately took action gave us a bid they were super busy and still got our project done two weeks sooner than he quoted us. Homefix Lawrence was recommended to me on Facebook to help me hang up some floating shelves and other art. They came out quickly and were very kind, affordable pricing, and did a great job! I’m so glad they were recommended to me and would recommend using them in the future! I also suggest going with them due to them having insurance - especially for apartment tenants like me.

I wanted to better utilize space in an “under staircase” closet… Home Fix Lawrence built these great shelves which are exactly what I wanted! They were very efficient, tidy and professional and I’ll definitely call them again for future home projects!

PROS:

David was very patient with me and his team was polite. They were also early and got the job done quickly. I had a layer of glue stuck to the concrete and he removed the rest for me prior to laying the LVP down, which I was extremely grateful for.

CONS:

Overall the flooring was laid down beautifully. I think they did a great job with the flooring and baseboards.

However, after taking a closer look I was disappointed at how the door area was done. It looked sloppy and thrown together and it sticks out like a sore thumb to me because everything else looks so nicely done. I think maybe they were rushing and didn’t take the time to accurately measure around the door. The cut that goes up to the transition also has a small gap that i can slide my finger through. I know they are busy and they do good work, but I do wish they could have been a little more detailed on those spots. If I saw it, I know they saw it so it just seems a little lazy.

Overall, I like the flooring, I’m just not 100% satisfied like I was originally after taking a closer look.

UDPATE:
David messaged me soon after I left my review and offered to come back and fix it, which he did. He is very professional, which is hard to find.

David had a crew do tile backsplash in my kitchen and bathrooms last summer. Great quality work! He was first in mind for a large painting project, and replacing 4 light fixtures that I couldn't tackle. Some problem solving was required, and communication was fabulous. Will definitely use his services again!

Homefix installed a new storm door for us and we couldn’t be more pleased with the work! The crew was amazing from start to finish!

I had Home Fix do a bathroom remodel. They did a great job with the remodel but as importantly they were professional and dependable. Having had work done previously with other businesses I expected no shows, no return calls and messes to clean up. David and his crew were awesome. Will definitely be using their services again!

Absolute best place to call for any and all home services! David is extremely knowledgable and willing to answer endless questions. He has helped us with gutter cleaning, attic and fireplace inspections, and insulating/defrosting frozen pipes. He's willing to take a look at anything, and charges VERY reasonable prices. I found David on facebook from the local live love lawrence group. He was highly spoken for! He was very professional, personable and responsive via text. When inquiring about services, he was able to provide quick and very fair quotes!

On the day scheduled, he arrived on time to take a look at the shower and his team was able to complete the job in a timely manner. He fixed the grout in my shower as there was mold in the corners.

David has done two small projects for me and each time the work was top notch. He is prompt, fair, and has the nicest employees. I also appreciate that if he isn't able to do a job he knows people and will put you in contact with people who can.

4 guys came and knocked out a huge chunk of my project list all at one time. Now the dryer vents out the roof and is put together with safe materials. The Dish the old owners left is gone, and all the baseboard is back up. And they added on hanging my bumble bee door knocker, where we were too afraid to drill into the new door.

David and his team built a catio for us (from our imaginations!) and we couldn’t be happier! The cats are pretty tickled with it too!

They also extended our concrete patio and did a great job!

We used Homefix to replace the trim on several of our windows that was rotted and leaking. David and Crew were super fast doing all four windows across multiple floors in about two hours total and for a reasonable price! Looking forward to using them again on more projects.

David was so very responsive...actually answering the phone and coming to the house less than an hour after our conversation. Our repair was a fairly minor roofing issue for which David gave us a quote. We agreed to his price and he said he would just as soon fix the roof while he was here rather than making another trip. He immediately repaired it and ended up charging us LESS than his original quote. During a time when getting anybody to answer the phone or give a quote is extremely difficult, if not impossible, David is a breath of fresh air. Will tell my friend(s) how impressed we were. There are still good people that work.

We needed a small roof repair. David came to look at it within an hour of our phone call. Stayed to fix it rather than coming back. Took about 20 minutes. So glad to have it fixed before the rain this evening. Really appreciate his quick response and highly recommend his services.

He returned my call the day I called; came 2 days later to give estimate, and work was completed when promised. Price was fair and work was of high quality. He prepped our deck by power washing and replacing some of the boards. Came back to stain it and it looks great. He replaced a ceiling fan and did some touch up painting on a gable. Also respectful of our property and cleaned up completely when finished. I will call Homefix for future needs.

David had one of his associates come out to fix a whole messload of drywall cracks and other issues that arose when I had the foundation fixed a couple months ago and then he and his assistant Aaron came out to do other work that I requested. The total project took the majority of two full days. All the folks involved were extremely professional, timely, and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. Update-Homefix Lawrence has grown but all the good things about it are the same. They arrive on time and work hard on every job. I had a list of things I needed done and all was completed quickly and professionally. An exterior light was replaced, and new one installed, weather stripping changed out, plumbing leaks fixed, insulation around fireplace installed and a couple of other things I probably left out. It’s so nice to know a job will be done correctly and at a fair price. HomeFix is the best!

David first repaired some dry rot and did some painting for me and I was very pleased with the quality of his work. He most recently build a beautiful pergola over my deck, and then power washed and painted the deck. It looks beautiful.
I’ll continue to call HomeFix for my next repair and project.
