Since they don’t quote in advance of the project it was a bit of a shock of what the price was for a small section of siding. In the future I’d go with someone who quotes the job up front. The work was done well and they were reliable and communicative.

We had water damage on a window frame and didn't know the source, so I researched on the internet and ended up contacting SFW Construction. After filling out an online form, I received a call immediately. The representative was professional, courteous, and explained their process clearly. Our project was scheduled promptly, and Alex and Bridger handled it efficiently. They communicated their findings and solutions effectively. We were satisfied with their organized approach and repair work. SFW's team was kind and respectful, making them highly recommended.

SFW was thorough and professional in resolving the issues with my roof and siding. My prior roofing contractor left the job and I had a leak after the first rain. They would not fix it, but SFW came in quickly and assessed the failures and then addressed all the problems. They really were a relief to work with. The team was professional and conscientious. I appreciate all their help with financing and advisement on how to tackle this stressful situation. They will be the contractor I call with any future projects.

Our project manager Alex any drywall repair person Jose did a great job repairing our leaky window and siding. The damage was more extensive than expected and Alex was honest about the situation and listened to my needs and concerns. Jose did a great job fixing the interior damage caused by replacing the window and studs and made the interior look like nothing had happened. Both were on time and professional, kept us updated on the work and were excellent to work with.

We had a small project at our house that required very thoughtful carpentry and construction. SFW sent Jim and Andre who listened to our goals for the project, then used their experience and expertise to bring it to the next level with really thoughtful ideas. Will definitely be reaching out again as more projects come up!

This was my first experience with SFW and I'm beyond satisfied by the work that Robert & Michael did to our deck. They are clearly experienced in their work and kept me informed at each step. I would absolutely recommend them and would use them again.

The SFW team was very thorough in their investigation of our window leak, and even took a look around the rest of the exterior of our home to identify other potential issues. Ultimately we did not move forward with the repair, but appreciated all of the insight from SFW.

I hired SFW Construction to repair dry rot areas to beams holding up the entry roof on a house we are selling. They were able to get us on their schedule right away and get the work completed well before the deadline set by the buyers and their realtor. Zach was great to work with and very professional every step of the way while at our home. Really, everyone was just so nice and easy to work with.

We had some water damage on the 2nd floor exterior due to no flashing on a window. SFW was quick in getting us scheduled. The team was great at explaining the damage (what happened and why) as well as what they were doing to repair it & prevent it from happening again. We had work in 3 steps (exterior siding, interior drywall, and painting). All staff were friendly, knowledgable, and easy to work with.

Initially, I had some communication issues with an employee, but after expressing my concerns with another employee, my issues were quickly resolved to my liking. The team was very organized, professional, and completed the job with a high level of quality. SFW replaced the siding from the entire south side of my house to make it appear as if no damage ever occurred. I highly recommend the company for any siding repairs you may need. This was a very tough job. Very tall house on a slope, temps nearing 100, and the damaged siding hid more damage underneath. The end result is excellent. We were kept updated on progress and problems daily. This was not an inexpensive project. Thanks to Jim, Andre', Willy, and Joe for their attention to detail and hard work.

Great customer service! We had SFW Construction come in 2021 to fix 3 of our existing windows. 3 years later we reached out to them because the last storm made 2 of our siding slat pop out. Even though the warranty was over, they sent one of their guy quickly to fix it, at no cost.

Love SFW Construction! They’ve helped us with our house and many of our neighbors have used them too. Kind, timely, worked on a holiday weekend for us when a supply issue temporarily delayed one of our projects. Highly recommend:)

Very satisfied with inspection and and repair of chimney siding and trim. The SFW team was thorough and timely in their work. Cost was on the high end, but competence and quality of work performed on the job was excellent.

I heartily recommend SFW for home construction repairs. Project leader TJ and his two-person crew crew did a terrific job rebuilding the underpinnings of a difficult-to-access, large, 40 year old deck that were infected with dry rot. Their professionalism, expertise, and cooperation showed in creative problem solving, efficient work, and attention to safety and cleanliness. TJ was excellent in keeping me apprised throughout the project about what they were doing and why. I would not hesitate to contract with SFW again should the need arise.

This was the best choice we could have made as we repaired, updated and painted our home. From construction, color choices and painting we were supported along the way and our finished project exceeded our expectations. We especially appreciate Jay's vision for our home and leading us to Kay @ colorconceptspdx-- her talents for color and design brought harmony to our discordant home projects and gave our home a coordinated new life!

I've used SFW Construction twice now. My old 1898 home has lots of little issue that need attention. The team has been able to make good decisions in how to repair the different issues while taking the time to explain the reasoning behind it. Last year we had a complete residing of one wall - they took our window and door out etc. The team did a great job. This summer we had a gutter/soffit issue - turns out the wood wasn't rotten, but our Gutters were on incorrectly - they came up with a creative solution to reattach without increasing scope or messing with the roof and they stayed an extra hour and half to finish in one day. I'll be calling them again next spring for the next soffit/siding repair. My only qualm if it is one - is that the painting is a seperate team and not combined with the repair team.

SFW Construction has completed many jobs for us. We have been so happy with the quality of their work and the friendliness of their staff. It's nice to know each dry rot project has been done right and to code. We will definitely be using SFW for future projects.

I just had a simple siding repair job. It was very easy to schedule. Foster and crew were able to come out and get started right away. He was clearly very knowledgeable and was able to explain things so that I could understand and make appropriate decisions. Good quality work and very respectful of my home and space. Would use again!

** Update: I noticed a couple small issues with the work almost a year later and gave them a call. They came out very quickly to review it and took care of the issues quickly. Justin was great, and ensured we were completely satisfied with the work.

I used SFW Construction to repair some large pieces of siding that had water damage. Scheduling was easy and within an appropriate time frame, and they showed exactly on time the morning of the work. Bubba gave a thorough overview of what they were looking for and what needed to be done, and highlighted safety protocols they'd follow. The work was done the same day (even after I added a couple additional items) and cleanup was perfect. The price was in line with what we were expecting. I'll use them again for upcoming projects.

The crew who worked here was terrific. They explained things to me & let me make decisions. I appreciate their hard work. The only thing I didn't care fore was the supervisor guy who showed up & started poking holes into my walls & window frames to demonstrate that other work was needed & tried to convince me to finance more work.

We had a really awesome experience with SFW, they got back to us so quickly and got us on the schedule much faster than I anticipated. The work was done quickly and professionally, even though they had to navigate a few unexpected factors. Greg communicated with us throughout the process and was really straightforward about our different options along the way. He gave good recommendations concerning cost and quality and it never felt like he was trying to talk us into the most expensive option, or the option that would be easiest for him. He really cared about doing the job right. We are very happy with the work that was done and would definitely use them again.

Initial contact to the Tualatin OR location was made on 11-02, signed documents on 11-03, and I was informed that scheduling team will reach out later to confirm a date for the project.

8 days later, on 11-11, scheduling team sent an email to me saying: "Great news, your project is advancing in the queue!" I responded immediately asking what date and time range are we looking at, - no response.

After 10 days of ghosting and not responding to my inquiry, on 11-21, scheduling team sent another email still saying: "Great news, your project is advancing in the queue!"

Sorry, this is not the kind of process/experience I can work with.

These guys came to fix another contractors mess. They did it right! They fixed mold and rot issues. Fast work too!

Once again, it all started so well. We had actually had SFW out a few years before to fix a related issue (roof/siding leak), which they did quickly and professionally. This time, however, they sent two less experienced fellows (I should have known better once I found out the leader of the previous project had left the company). The leader on this job spent an hour talking at me before getting started, and then spent an hour running around town to find roof caulking. Given that this was a roof/siding job, it stands to reason that they should have come better prepared. The worst part of the whole thing is that their repair fixed exactly nothing. When the next storm arrived, the leak was the same as it ever was. When I spoke to Justin, their CS person, he agreed to drop 2 hours of cost from the project due to the crew's talkativeness and lack of preparation. What really got me, though, was when he proposed sending a team out for a week of tearing off siding/sills/roofing to do the job they were supposed to have already done. The cost estimate? $10,000. Please tell me how 1) that is reasonable, and 2) why anyone should ever hire a company that handles things in such a manner.

House has a low pitched roof with older PVC fabric roofing. Issue with the fabric leaking at a drain and damaging plywood roofing. SFW replaced the damaged plywood and also plywood around all dozen drains (60+ year old house). Drains were replaced and PVC fabric repaired by a subcontractor. SFW and subcontractor workers were competent and detailed oriented. Even though we had additional issues with leakage with the drain replacement, the issues were worked out and leak problems solved. Gerald Goshaw of SFW was very easy to work with when problems cropped up and I would recommend SFW for repair work.

SFW came and repaired two areas of dry rot around second story windows. The crew was great and did a great job on the carpentry. All of our conversations about the work were very clear and understandable. I recommend this company for work on your house!

I had a good experience with dry rot repair, siding repair, and door replacement project with SFW. They were timely, provided updates, did a good job with the repair and cleaned up well. Supervisors Mike L and Foster were great.

SFW Construction repaired/replaced a section exterior siding, OSB boards, acted as a general for some specialized roofing repair due to snow/ice damage. Jerry, the project manager, was super responsive with getting me the estimate, working w/my insurance claim, as well as getting the work slotted in as quickly as possible. Main crew member, Foster, was also great. He was always early to the job site, did quality carpentry, and super hard worker. Great company!

We had them paint our inside walls and ceilings. Kyle, the foreman and his crew were delightful. It was obvious that they loved what they were doing and did a great job at it. I also had the opportunity to work with Justin on an issue that was resolved above and beyond what I would expect from a professional company.

We had an extensive dry rot issue. Angel's crew was wonderful! We appreciate their skill and professionalism and also the way they explained each step of the repair.

I had just bought my first home and we found some major damage in our siding. They were prompt and took very little time for them to set a date to begin the project. The crew was friendly and communicated well. They answered all my questions with ease as well. It was a very knowledgeable experience. Sadie in the accounting department also was very friendly and answered all my questions.

SFW did a great job, they were on time, professional and did an excellent job communicating. Make no mistake, getting a contractor to your job site takes time in this market. SFW is no exception. It took about 6 weeks from my initial contact with them and during that time they kept in contact with me every week - UNHEARD OF - SFW DID AN AWESOME JOB! I strongly recommend them and will use them again should they need arise!

SFW did a really great job on our exterior siding repair job. The workmanship was excellent. The SFW folks were prompt and worked efficiently. The communication with the folks at the site and back at the office was excellent. The folks at the site were responsive to feedback even while work was in progress. SFW is receptive to doing small jobs and odd repairs. I’m a pretty picky client, and I would not hesitate to contract SFW again.

We had SFW come out to repair dry rot at the base of our sliding glass door and we were extremely impressed by the knowledge and professionalism from Jeff, CK, and their team. CK is one of the hardest working and nicest people we've hired; he went way above and beyond our expectations. We ended up having to pay more than we first expected, but we could tell it was high quality work.

We hired SFW Construction to replace some cedar siding and a couple of doors, and to paint the exterior of our home. It's the biggest home repair project we've undertaken to date, but we felt like we were in good hands every step of the way. Communication was excellent with employees both onsite and in the office, and the quality of the work is top notch. We couldn't be more pleased with how everything has come out.

SFW Construction did a great job in replacing our driveway, a 33-year-old wooden bridge over a creek that is our only access from the street. The project evolved from the original plan to repair the bridge to a full replacement after we discovered that the entire structure was compromised by rot. SFW deconstructed the old bridge with care – our water, sewer and gas lines run through it – and put a lot of thought and care into putting the new bridge together, making a number of design improvements along the way. The final product is beautiful and built for the ages. This was the first time we’ve had a contractor work for us on a time and materials basis, and while a fixed price contract encourages speed, a time and materials contract, at least this one, puts more emphasis on working with thought and care. Our work crew, Alex and Zack, worked well together, impressed us with their work ethic and nice manners, and always (with one exception) cleaned up at the end of the day. The project manager, Jerry, kept us informed, and gave us lots of good advice – not to mention peace of mind - along the way. We’d hire these guys again in a heartbeat.

We noticed a small area of dry rot and since it was into the sheathing, we knew we needed professional help. My friend used SFW and highly recommended them. The job ended up being bigger than we fist thought, actually getting into a few studs. The SFW team walked us thru every step, explaining what was needed and why. Their work was exemplary and the crew were friendly, respectful and were clearly experts in their trade.

They repaired bad wood and painted so that new gutters could be installed. I did not get a second bid because we used the company before and felt confident they would do a good job.

I hired SFW to perform wood repair on our historic home. We discovered water damaged wood in four locations on our home. SFW surgically addressed the problem areas in a precise, professional, and high quality manner. At my request, SFW thoroughly documented the repairs using photos and daily logs for use in my discussions with my insurance carrier. The foreman, Angel, was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and had excellent communications skills keeping me apprised of the work and my options. I appreciate SFWs business model (time+materials) which I feel leads to a higher quality outcome (i.e. they are not rushing through a lump-sum job like other contractors I've worked with). It also ensures I pay for all the services/materials actually used. I would certainly hire them again.

The guys showed up on time and prepared to do the job. Our job was a small one, completed by two guys in just over two hours. They were friendly, professional and did a great job. Cost was approximately what we anticipated. We are happy with the job they did and would call SFW Construction for future projects.

I had an incredible experience with SFW Construction. I recently sold my home in Beaverton and I had SFW repair some water damage. The damage was worse than it first appeared and given the nature of water intrusion and not knowing how extensive it was, it can be a scary experience. But, Bubba, the site supervisor for my job was amazing. He kept me informed constantly, explained what was going on, what they would do next, and why, etc. It really made the experience much less intimidating. On top of that, they are a one stop shop for whatever work is needed. In my case, there was deck work, siding work, concrete pouring, drywall, door jamb replacement, etc. They did it all, and with exceptional workmanship and speed. I was very impressed all around and I'll never use anyone else but SFW for any future needs.

The project I hired SFW for was small, but they were very professional throughout the process. Scheduling was easy and quick and the work was completed on time and for a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend SFW and would not hesitate to use them again, if needed.

We have used SFW Construction for two projects, and a third starting this week. The company has a unique process that is quite efficient, and the crew members are very knowledgeable and professional. The first job included removing five very large windows together as a panel to fix dry rot in the wall – a nail biter but Angel’s crew did an awesome job on the repair! The second job included repair to a back deck where it joined the house, which required support of the deck to get to the dry rot on the side of the house, and removal of the entire French doors to correctly flash the floor with roofing material. Chuck and Carson went above and beyond the deck, and repaired other items that we had never had the skills to tackle. They were professional, courteous, and fun to get to know during the process! We have been very pleased with the outcome of both projects, and feel comforted knowing that we can hire them for repairs and not worry about the outcome, because it will be great!

Working with SFW was excellent for the roof work we needed! Even though it was a small repair, they were prompt, completed the whole project including painting the new boards all in 1 day! Great work done!

Everyone throughout was very friendly and pleasant. That’s as good as it got. SFW consistently over promised and under delivered, not what I expected from a pricey company.
Woodwork that was not to be sanded was. Trim sanding was incomplete before moving to wall paint. Nail holes and other imperfections were not filled as promised before painting (I had to do the fill and now the walls & ceiling must be repainted). Mike swore he could achieve a paintable surface over old, painted wall paper in the bathroom - as expected, he could/did not. Although they knew the project was incomplete, workers tore down all masking - without permission or instruction to do so, which had to be reinstalled. In their hurry to leave, they damaged the finish on a new cabinet. A worker said it was because the supervisor used the wrong tape. He disappeared after the first day so could not ask him directly. Baseboard heaters in two of three rooms were not painted prior to wall paint - these walls must be repainted.  Throughout, there was lack of planning, supervision, communication & workmanship.

Repaired structural damage to a standalone carport. Work was done in a day, in and out. The lead checked with me before doing any materials buys or rentals and kept me in the loop. I have used them before and will again.

I used this company to do some work largely because out of 10 contractors in the Portland area I contacted, they could start the work in a timely fashion (3 weeks instead of 8 months to a year for others I talked to), they were licensed and insured, got pretty good reviews and had no complaints from the better business bureau. They repaired some water damage and replaced some dry rotted siding and painted the work. They weren't the cheapest, but I wanted to get the work done before fall. They were professional and did a great job that included having to re-frame a sliding glass door into a screened porch, replacing flashing and siding. They also fixed a couple of vents that got painted shut in a timely fashion. I was completely satisfied with the work they did. The real test will come when the rainy season starts this fall though. One note I would mention is that they work on an hourly basis which makes their estimates pretty much a guess, especially with water damage and siding which can be tough to see exactly how much work there is to be done until the siding is actually off. That being said, they worked pretty quickly and it didn't appear to me that they were just trying to pad the bill. The one thing they could have done better was explain their billing process. They sent me a bill every few days, rather that one bill at the end or a deposit at the beginning, for the work that was done for the preceding days. I didn't have a problem with their method, but it was confusing at first. Overall, if you are willing to wait potentially months or up to a year, you might be able to find someone to do the same job cheaper, but if you need work done in a timely fashion, I would completely use these guys again for home repairs.

I called in and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and she then transferred me over to speak with Christian, who was also very enjoyable to talk to. I had a lot of questions regarding repairs to my home and he took the time to answer all of them for me and made sure I understood what was going to be needed to be done. He then promised to send me over an information packet in an email which I had in my inbox less than five minutes after getting off the phone with him.
