SFW rebuilt my chimney surround. New flashing, trim and paint. They also painted the old metal flashing cap and metal chimney. Work was done well and efficiently.

The SFW crew (Chris & Brian) were both very knowledgeable and professional while working to fix a leak in my siding. Chris took the time to ensure I knew what the root cause of the issue was and what steps SFW would take to correct them.

Had a leaking window that required new flashing and replacement/repair of the 100 + year old siding around it. The crew that came out to do the work listened to my concerns, explained our options depending on the extent of the damage they would find, and worked tirelessly in really terrible weather conditions to get the work done within a few days. The best part is that they went the extra mile to find a match to the original siding and saved me $$ since I didn’t have to redo the siding on the whole front of my house. Highly recommend!

Had a seal failure on two skylights after noticing water collecting between the skylight panes in heavy rain. They responded to my repair request quickly and we're able to replace my skylights on the same day they investigated the issue.

SFW in general was great. We got on their list and they kept us posted on where we were in the queue. Our job wasn't huge, so some companies wouldn't even take it on since it was less than $5,000 - very frustrating. Not an issue for SFW. Victor showed up and got to work. The job was awesome and they worked all day until it was completed; two rotted window sills and some siding. They showed me what they found and although they looked for any add'l issues, they didn't go 'looking' for something to fix. Very honest and up front with me the entire day. Really appreciated them and thankful that I went with SFW after looking for a couple of weeks for a good repair contractor.

SFW helped repair a couple of leaking windows in the winter. The first crew was good during the original repair, though a little over-aggressive in their estimate of how long the repair would take. The windows started leaking again in the spring, and to SFW's credit, they had a crew onsite within a week to do even more diagnostic work. The second crew was excellent, especially the crew boss Justin. He was super honest and forthright. He let me know exactly what he could do (re-seal the wall) and what he would do if he were in my position (fix the roof first, and the wall only if there was still a problem). SFW doesn't even do roofs, so I really felt that he was looking after my best interests and giving advice that would be best for us. Would definitely use again if we had another siding issue, and would definitely request Justin if I could.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
