The company came out on time and did a professional repair with excellent communication see photos of repair work before and after shown. The repair was with the underlying material sliding out from underneath the siding. A prior company had replaced the roof several years ago and eventually the underlying material slid down. The repair was to prevent any damage from moisture or insects plus for cosmetic reasons.

SFW fixed a wood rot problem where our backyard deck came in contact with our house siding. They replaced all the damp wood, installed flashing, and rebuilt the portion of the deck along the siding. Since the rot extended into the door sill SFW had to replace the French Door frame. When the old French Doors were re-installed there was a problem getting them to fit properly since the original installation 36 years ago used metal weatherstripping. We worked with Justin, SFW Customer Experience Manager and others at SFW to decide to replace the original French Doors and door frame as a unit which SFW did at no additional charge. My rating would have been a 5, if not for the extended period due to the replacement of the French Doors.

We contacted SFW Construction after finding substantial water damage to window trim, sheeting and framing on the front of our home. I was very impressed with the care and quality of work that was completed to correct the issue, which was beyond what I was comfortable attempting to fix. I appreciated theclear communication throughout the process. I highly recommend SFW Construction.

The team did a nice job and solved my mysterious (and tiny leak) in 2 days - while the rain came pouring down. Chris, the lead was very friendly and communicated with me throughout the process via text, promising to keep his investigation into the leak as minimal as possible. His many years of experience showed as he got to the bottom of it, and though it can be painful to know parts of your home/roof/walls have to be undone to solve the issue, he kept it as painless as possible for us.

SFW did a relatively small job for us - replacing damaged cedar shakes on a section of our house. Several things impressed me: how quickly they responded after I reached out to them, how good the communication was throughout the process, how they found shakes that perfectly matched the others, the eye for detail that crew boss Chris Wilson had in supervising the job, and of course the very satisfying final outcome. I highly recommend these guys!

SFW sent a professional and personable crew. There was some confusion about a pre-job estimate, which did not materialize. However, the work was exceptional, and the materials were top quality. The crew were respectful of our space and schedule, and easy to work with. All aspects of the project were clearly explained and timely, once a crew was available in my area.

Very happy to have found a contractor willing to fix a gable, siding, gutter and rot problem. It was a 2 day job and so happy it was done safely (a bit high roof line) and the problem was solved. Very happy with service and good communication.

SFW repaired dry rot damage into two of our exterior walls, including behind a brick wall, and rebuilt everything after the wood was replaced. After they were done, the house looked exactly as it did before, except with brand new siding and wood structure inside the wall. We are super happy with the results and the quality of the work. They used TYVEK and Hardie Boards, and other good brand material (and not knock-off stuff), and I was really impressed by the fact that the work crew was there every day exactly on time. Great job Jason and team!!

Transparent, communicative, professional, fair. The back-office team was great to work with and the crews on-site were even better. Willing to explain every detail of what they encountered during the job, discuss alternative solutions, and even caught their own (very small) billing error / rectified it without our having to ask. Quality of work is outstanding. Highly recommended.

The site lead was very communicative and able to answer all of my questions. I felt able to trust his expertise. He was thoughtful on how to repair the house so that we wouldn't have similar issues in the future.

The crew was very friendly. I felt comfortable letting them in the house as needed. They cleaned up after themselves and made an effort to work around our daily schedule.

The office was also very responsive and communicative. They estimated that we would be scheduled weeks out, but were able to fit us in after a few days when another job completed early.

I called during a busy time of the year but was able to get someone on the phone and email to start basic evaluation. We Discussed details of my needs around weather proofing our Windows and patio. 6 weeks later someone was able to look at the issue in person and get to work right away! Their professionalism and transparency was really reassuring. Very easy to communicate with, and very attentive to our concerns about staying within budget.

I'd hire them again!

SFW helped us repair a man-door which had wood rot due to water penetration in the frame and found the problem did not extend further. I asked them to check cedar wrap on porch beams and repair cracks and repaint.
The job was done in a reasonable amount of time and I felt we received good value for the money.

I used SFW to repair a chronic leakin a glass atrium in my house. It took a while to get scheduled, but once stated the job went quickly, the employees were all professional, and it was clear they had my best interest at heart. It wasn't the cheapest contract, but there was no doubt the leak was permanently fixed when they finished.

The guys at SFW patched the leaky metal roof on my floating home, and did a great job. The temperature was frigid during the project, but they were quick, efficient, and worked diligently in the cold weather. Jonah, the supervisor, was very friendly and communicated well with me throughout the project. Working on floating homes can be tricky, but SFW did the job right.

From the first call into SFW and speaking with Jerry Goshaw, I knew I was in good hands. Jerry made certain to understand the specifics of the issue we were experiencing. He proposed a plan to address the immediate problem of our leaking roof in order to avoid additional damage, then arranged for an inspection of the issue and submitted for our review a detailed plan of attack to resolve the situation. Quick, concise and efficient. Levi and two of his helpers installed the new roof and explained everything they were going to do. Any question I had was addressed with confidence as to the correct manner in which to move forward. On top of the great customer service from Jerry and installation by Levi and crew, Natasha Crain in SFW's accounts receivable department was extremely pleasant and accommodating of my requests for receipts and warranty information. Great office staff, great on the job crew and obviously a well run company. Daryl Winand - Portland Oregon

SFW was awesome to work with. When you discover dry rot and a potential problem in your wall framing and siding, who do you call? Bryan and Christian got us off to great start with clear, fast follow up via phone and email from people scoping out the job we needed in our condominium complex. Presented us options and walked through how whole thing would go. Scheduling with Sandra was easy and prompt - they were out here VERY fast after signed contract, and right after the holidays! Richard and crew were on site promptly really friendly, honest, knowledgeable and transparent about how things were working. Job was faster than expected which helped us keep costs down. Appreciated the quality work and advice. Will call them again. Highly recommend.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
