Excellent, timely service. I needed the siding and exterior wall of my garage fixed, and Brenden and Eddie did a fantastic job and were great guys to work with. Great communication from the whole company and I never felt uniformed about the status of the job. I highly recommend SFW.

My project was two corners of two buildings needing siding repair. One was aluminum with storm damage and the other was cedar and was rotting due to water ingress. James/Brian did a great job starting the project. And Edgar/Brendan did a great job finishing it. SFW stayed in constant communication and the entire team is awesome to work with.

SFW Construction helped me strip a lead painted door down to the beautiful bare wood for restoration. They picked up and delivered, and left the vintage door in great shape throughout the process!

Very thorough work. Courteous and knowledgeable staff. They took the time to carefully investigate the sources of leaks located near one of the downspouts on our balcony as well as in certain areas of our roof. They also discovered and corrected problems with the construction of the chimney that could have eventually led to additional water leaks.

I worked with SFW Construction in December to locate and repair a leak in our townhouse roof that extended into our bedroom ceiling. Throughout the process, Justin (project lead), Brendan, and Bryan did an excellent job of making progress and keeping me informed through routine calls and texts with photos.

Given the placement of the leak—right near the primary gutter egress on our roof—they needed to tent the entire roof to prevent water from entering the hole that was cut. After some particularly heavy storms, this tenting briefly failed when a support pole collapsed. Justin responded promptly to an early morning weekend call, rushing up from Tacoma to Seattle to ensure everything was secure. His quick response and professionalism were incredibly reassuring.

In addition to on-site support, I worked with Bryan in SFW's operations department to support our insurance documentation needs. Bryan created a comprehensive damage report for our insurance company based on their forensic leak detection work and provided detailed daily documentation of all work performed. This support continued even after the project was complete, exceeding my expectations.

While dealing with a roof leak was an extremely stressful experience—and I hope never to need their services again—I cannot recommend SFW Construction highly enough for anyone facing a similar situation. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail were exceptional.

This was a substantial project on our old garage. It included rebuilding part of a wall and replacing rotten wood. Communication from SFW was EXCELLENT and the workers were professional. From a new roof to new siding, our garage is stunning. What a difference! We recommend SFW Construction and their subcontractor Cole Roofing 10 out of 10 times!

I was very impressed with SFW. We had a siding repair that was too small for other companies, even local handymen. They either refused to come out or didn’t show up when they were scheduled. SFW came out when they said they would, and had it repaired professionally and in a friendly manner in 25 minutes. Considering that they take on much larger projects, I am impressed with their customer service and willingness to take on this smaller repair.

SFW did a great job fixing the leaks on our house and making sure they won’t come back. SFW’s carpenters are very experienced and know what they are doing. Thank you Foster and Chris for the good work!

SFW construction is absolutely wonderful and we are so glad that we hired them. We have used SFW and fully trust their work.

SFW has repaired a major leak for us and we greatly appreciate it. Foster and his team and Chris and his team did really great work for us. They were very communicative and kept us updated throughout the entire process. They repaired our house and our leak with quality and accuracy as well as with attention to detail. We were really impressed with their work, and glad that they were careful and paid attention to detail.

The customer service was great. We worked with Bryan - The operations manager and his team, including the customer service manager. They were all great. Very nice and professional.

I will say, they are not cheap, and they charge by the hour, especially for leaks, because they don't know how extensive the leak is or how far it goes, and they have to investigate the leak before they can repair it. It is hard to give an estimate without knowing the full extent of the damage. If you are looking to go the cheap route, SFW may not be the best fit. The crews typically work in teams of two and bill at a rate of $125 per hour per person. Plus, material cost + 20%.

Overall, I recommend them and we were highly impressed. Thanks, SFW, for everything!

Kyle's crew did a great job on my project! They had great communication and kept me in the loop with pictures every few hours during the repairs. Not the cheapest around but you definitely get what you pay for. They paid attention to every detail and it was apparent how much pride they took in their work. I would highly recommend this company if you are in the unfortunate position of needing a house leak or weather damaged repaired.

Our ceiling sprung a leak during a heavy rain. SFW Construction placed us on their active leak repair list, and they were able to send a crew out much faster than other places I called. SFW Construction employs what I’d call leak detection experts who love to solve a good “leak” mystery. We worked with Chris, who walked us through every step, gave us options for a fix, and then fixed the leak. It was such a relief. The crew was also very tidy.

My understanding is the crews work in teams of two and bill at a rate of $125 per hour per person. Plus, material cost + 20%. All and all, an excellent experience.

Had a leaky roof was worried about costs. These guys came out and found expired sealant on a cable tie to my roof. Instead of just re-sealing they installed new sealant plus flashing around tie off to direct water away. It looks clean and professional. A few short hours and the leak is fixed, and at a far more affordable amount than I had feared. Great work.

SFW Construction was able to respond to an active leak in our Townhome's roof. The crew quickly identified the source of the leak (a rafter nail that had worked its way out of the rafter and through the shingles). They provided an accurate estimate for the scope of work. Let me know the unknowns related to rafter water damage upfront, and executed a high quality repair for a reasonable price!

We are very happy with the work. We love the new color, the painters did a great job. Special shout out to them for being extra careful with our plants and flowers. The carpenters also did a great job fixing our siding and replacing the sliding glass door. It feels like a new house!

They were responsive, transparent and did quality work. Each day what was going on was discussed with me with estimates of how the scope of the issue was changing and when it would likely would be done. I have recommended them to others.

We had major dry rot damage from our chimney that effected our master bedroom and bathroom downstairs. Steven and Richard had to replace the entire chimney framing, underlying joices and siding. They communicated constantly during the project and also provided me with options that ultimately saved me time and money. Great guys working for a great company. I highly recommend SFW.

Those guys are good but expensive. Jobs finished with high quality. Crews are polite and efficient. I have some water leaking issues and have to hire someone to troubleshoot- these people found the issue and quickly addressed them. However the billing is based on man hours - and they are pricey.

We had a great experience with SFW construction. We had a leak in the side of our home that was soaking the carpet by an exterior door and we were unable to determine the cause. The leas was from an exterior wall adjacent to a concrete wall. I wish I could remember the name of the brothers who determined the cause and thoroughly repaired the leak. They did an excellent job, were on time, clean and professional throughout the work. We would definitely contact SFW again for any type of work that requires expert knowledge and repair. The work was not cheap, but worth the peace of mind.

We worked with SFW to replace some dry-rotted trim boards on our house. Their carpenters showed up on time and completed the work with care. Their billing is transparent (labor + materials + markup), and for this job they ended up saving me about 15% relative to another contractor. It's also nice that they have knowledgeable staff who will answer the phone.

Tyson and his team were very communicative and professional throughout what started as a leaky window, but evolved into a structural dry rot repair. The home builder didn't caulk a seam, and water leaked into the home for seven years, causing dry rot on a cantilever support beam. The work SFW completed was high quality, and Tyson even saved me time and money by offering up an alternative repair method. There were a few things that needed to be followed up on after the bulk of the install, but I think it's important to judge a company based on how they respond when something goes wrong. Justin was great with the the follow up repairs. All in all, I'm very impressed with SFW and recommend them for anything leak related.

Overall job: The job wasn't cheap; the siding repair ballooned beyond my original expectations (because of water damages) but they were professional and transparent and responsive. They didn't pressure me into any work and informed me of the risks (e.g. if they uncover any rot, they won't just cover it up for liability reasons). I trusted their quality of work.

Customer service wise: Project manager (Mike) was available when I needed him; site lead (Scotty) is a straight shooter and kept me up to date multiple times a day. I even received calls & visits from their superintendent (Jeff) and their ops manager (Brian) - their company leaders. I felt supported the whole way and had a positive experience working with the whole team.

We hired SFW to replace a damaged back-door - which turned into building out a whole new back wall due to the discovery of water damage and poor craftsmanship from the original builders. Everyone was professional, communicative, educational, and worked hard to help us save money throughout the process. I was also very impressed with how clean the left the job site at the end of every work day. Looking forward to having them come out next summer to rebuild our rotting front porch.

I would use three words to describe SFW Construction LLC: professional, meticulous, and trustworthy.

Professional: From day one, starting with the estimator, Michael Dominguez, it was clear, professionalism is a top priority of SFW. From contract negotiations to payment requests, SFW is a top-notch company with systems in place to smoothly run a project from start to finish.

Our project's massive scope of work took a total of ~6.5 weeks and required seven crew members on site. Every single day, each crew member showed up on time (seriously, not a minute late), communicated effectively and consistently with us, the owners, and kept the workspace clean upon the completion of the day's tasks.

My husband and I have worked on multiple house remodels, and with countless contractors. In our experience, SFW, by far, exudes the highest level of professionalism.

Meticulous: If you are looking for a contractor to complete a residential exterior home repair project correctly, SFW is the contractor for you.

My husband and I purchased a 1930's house in West Seattle covered in vinyl siding. Keeping true to the age of the house, we opted to roll the dice, remove the vinyl (in hopes the original siding was salvageable), and restore the cedar hidden beneath the 1970's plastic. After countless bids, recommendations, and Google searches, we concluded only one company in the area could accomplish our goal: SFW.

Seeing as our house was a mystery (wrapped in vinyl), a full scope of work could not be predicted until the original siding was uncovered. Once the cedar siding was out in the open, the lead paint abatement was completed without a hitch (thank you, David and crew!). However, the carpentry scope of work was far more drastic than we had hoped. Due to water damage and rot, the south side of the house needed to be rebuilt, the belly band and drip cap throughout the perimeter of the body had to be flashed and replaced, and lastly, all new corner trim boards needed to be installed. This new scope of work was far more complicated than the simple "repair a few rotten pieces of siding" scope we held our breath on.

The drastic escalating scope didn't phase SFW; the crew rolled with the punches with ease. AJ, the carpentry manager on site, was incredibly knowledgeable and meticulously planned and reviewed each repair. Clearly, this was not his first rodeo. The crew members on site – Brendan, Joel, and Bryan – carefully completed each task to ensure our house would be structurally sound and waterproofed for years to come.

I typically don't use the word "thoughtful" when describing a construction project; however, our experience with SFW warrants an exception. All work completed on our job site was not only meticulously executed, but was incredibly thoughtful. Our house now feels like a home.

Trustworthy: No project, especially one of this magnitude, goes from start to finish without a few bumps in the road. Along the way, we had a few administrative (minor billing errors) and scope of work (misunderstanding of viable vs. nonviable siding) obstacles to overcome. Once brought to the attention of SFW, these errors were immediately rectified.

For me, my focus is not necessarily on the mistake made, but on how a company solves the issue. SFW stood true to their word of being trustworthy and did a stellar job ensuring we, the clients, were treated fairly.

While the majority of our experience was positive, it is only fair I also share two parts of my experience that were, personally, more negative to me:

1. Time & Materials: With a T&M contract, subconsciously, it can be difficult not imagining the money adding up as the hours and days pass.

2. Daily Billing: The high volume of invoices comes with more room for error. But, as I mentioned earlier, all errors that occurred were immediately rectified.

With all that being said, overall, my husband and I would happily work with SFW again! ...however, we vow to never buy another mystery house wrapped in vinyl.

Lead paint removal! They are the best around! Mike D. came out to check my house, he was on time and came on the day he said he would. He measured everything out, and really talked me through it all. I told him that I had a certain amount of money that we could spend this first time around, and he did the math right there, planned out the first go, and told me that I shouldn't worry, that they will make sure it's right there.
I ran into some issues with getting the keys to our new house, but Mike D. assured me that when we were good to go, they were good, and kept me on the schedule but just moved people ahead of me so I wouldn't lose my spot as spring and summer time are the big seasons to get work done.

When the day finally came, Mauricio and Juan came out. They were punctual, personable, and just great from the start. I went out to talk to them about the project, and just to see how they were doing. They gave me their plan for the day and the next couple days on what exactly was going to get done, the proper precautions that were going to be taken, all the safety stuff with it being lead removal. I came home after work, they were still working, but they made sure to show me and talk me through everything they had done so far. This was the same for that total of 2.5ish days of work. Nothing but positivity, great conversations, and beautiful work done by Mauricio and Juan. The areas that were said to get done were, and everything was clean and taken care of when they were done.

I only was able to get half my house done because of money (but the most important half in the backyard with two dogs that love to eat everything and anything), but it was the original amount that Mike D. told me not to worry about and the estimate was spot on. That gave me lots of peace of mind as lead removal is not cheap.

I look forward to working with SFW, Mike D., Mauricio, and Juan in the future when I get the rest of my house done.

Thanks so much!

I had SFW fix leaky and rotten window trim in my house (built in 2007) that turned into replacing siding, trim and re-setting windows. I was impressed by the knowledgeability, dedication to their trade and quality craftsmanship. The crew did amazing work and kept me updated on the progress throughout the repair. Communication with SFW's office was clear and concise. Be aware they are not cheap, but you are definitely getting your $$ worth when hiring SFW and I can rest assured that the job was done right.

I just had sfw construction do a second project on my home in Aloha, Oregon a few weeks ago. They are extremely wonderful to work with. The previous project they worked on for me with some dry rot repair around a window on my home. I worked with Christian and he was just absolutely wonderful. I was so devastated and scared when I found out I had this dry rot, and they did everything to update me and make me feel safe and secure about the cost and the process. Also, they did an excellent job on the actual repair, and I am a forever customer after that experience. I was kept in notified the whole time, updated, and their work was 100% quality. They have such a good drywall repairman working for them. I may have him come back to my house and do some great texturing. He has great skills it matching and he was such a sweetheart.

This most recent project was an overhang for my backyard deck. Levi helped me with that, and he did such an amazing job keeping me informed and updated, and yet again, the quality of work is unsurpassed. They do such a good job that I almost give them freedom to design it however they want because they know more than me about what they're doing. Anyways, I'm a very happy customer and I hate to Almost share how good they are because I want to be able to use them when I need them and I don't want them to be booked out.

Called SFW to have some dry rot fixed on the exterior of my house. The pricing was for the actual labor hours and material used instead of a firm fixed price, which in my case led to a fair price. SFW as a company were very transparent about costs and schedule. Tracey, Jacob and Sean were great and they left the property cleaner than they found it.

I had made the bad decision of replacing my wooden decking with Trex by myself and after 2 summers without a complete deck decided to get the professionals in. Luckily SFW were able to task a 2 man crew within a couple of weeks.

SFW showed up with an equipment trailer as schedule and Mike and Anthony did an excellent job. They were an absolute pleasure to work with and showed a wealth of experience! Will definitely use them again.

Pricing questions
1. What is the average roof replacement cost for a residential home?

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
