We had a good initial experience when it came to quoting and installing our new roof. But now that the installation flaws our obvious and getting worse, we aren't getting any response. We are now on week 6 after signing the work order, and two weeks after we followed up trying to get a date on when they would fix the flaws. No response..... Also, Our two year old gutters are also beat up pretty bad, but they still work. I'm feeling like since they got the job and finished it, they really don't care about dealing with their warranty issues even though they acknowledged in person that our issue is indeed due to poor workmanship. My advice to State Roofing, practice what you preach.

If you want quality workmanship, great communication and exceptional customer service, then hire this company! We contracted State Roofing to rebuild our back deck. The bidding process started with Jason who showed his technical expertise in building decks. Then he brought in Paul Nelson, the engineer that was the mastermind behind designing and building the beautiful deck and dealing with all of the issues along the way. State Roofing came in with a competitive price (not the lowest but worth every penny). They handled the complicated permitting process with the city. There were no extra fees and no surprises because even when the design didn't go exactly as planned Paul always came up with a solution and never up charged for any changes. Jason and Paul were easy to work with, communicated timely and finished the job. I would highly recommend them.

We were very pleased with Johnathan's team that installed our new roof, they scheduled the installation per our request and showed up promptly each day. their cleanup at the end of each day was thorough. Yes I would have them install my roof again should I ever need one. Thanks to State Roofing, great job!

State roofing did a roof repair for me and installed three skylights. It did a wonderful job. The workers were pleasant and professional. I am very happy with their work and would recommend them to anyone and the price was reasonable.

This is perhaps the most unprofessional and slow company I have ever dealt with. I contacted them in June 2024 for a small but unique project that I really wanted to finish in this summer as it would affect my home during the rainy/winter season. After initial contact, one of their representatives, Sarah Powers reached out to schedule inspection of the site so that their team can provide a quote. After that, someone from State Roofing visited our site in July to inspect and since that day I have written to them multiple times about the quote. Sarah replies intermittently to my emails with excuses ("My Service Manager has had to be in the field more often recently which has affected his proposal turnaround times") and assures me that she is "diligently" working on a quote (Her last reply to me was on August 16th). As a result I did not contact any other company and now we are in a terrible situation due to the rains. If they did not want to take up the work, they should have told me upfront so that I would've engaged another company. The damage that we would incur to our property during the winter is solely because of their slow and unprofessional attitude. I would highly recommend to stay away from this company.

The crew was excellent. Were here on time and finished in a timely manner. After the job was complete the whole crew walked all the way around the house picking up every little piece of trash from the ground. I was extremely happy with the way my roof came out. Thank you!

Paul Nelson and the whole State Roofing team stand up for their product and workmanship. 19 years after we replaced our roof we developed a leak in the flashing for a vent tube. Paul quickly came out and found that the lead flashing cracked. He then inspected all the flashing and found another lead vent flashing starting to crack. He immediately made a temporary repair and initiated a final fix. He came out removed the roofing and replaced the sheathing and reinstalled the flashing and roofing. Paul and the whole State Roofing team made the whole situation easy and painless. It's no wonder that they have been in business for so long.

Had the roof redone at our property in Greenlake. State Roofing was competitively priced (not the cheapest, not the most expensive), communicative, and executed the job on time and professionally. I'd use them again if I had another roofing need.

State was on time each day and did a fine job! One small problem was dealt with immediately and well improved change- we are very, very pleased with our new roof and gutter system. Top job State-way to go!!!! Thank you!!

I hired State Roofing to replace the roof on my home. The process was easy and professional, from the estimate to the finished product. The crew started on time and finished the job in one day. The clean up was great I haven't found any stray nails and no flat tires. The roof and gutters look great and work well. I would highly recommend State Roofing if you need a roof give State a call.

I called State roofing to come and look at my roof for pressure washing. They sent a person out to look at it so I could get an estimate of what they would charge from that point on, I haven’t heard from them. I called them only to get a runaround. I never knew why they wouldn’t respond. I was wondering if it would because I was a black person, that I did get no response. I will never call them again.

Very professional, from quickly providing a very reasonable quote through demo, installation and cleanup. Any additional issues were covered during the process and explained thoroughly. Highly recommended.

From the time I made the call to get an estimate, to the completion of the project, to the paying of the invoice and the follow up, State Roofing is a very wonderful company to do business with. I will highly recommend them to anyone that is thinking about getting their roof repaired or reroofed. I watched as they did my neighbors roof. I called other companies an got quotes but State Roofing went far beyond just telling me how much the roof was going to cost, they told me why and how they made their estimate, Plus they showed me the history of the company using official websites, not just their own. I received multiple bids for my roof. State was not the cheapest and there were not the most expensive. But they were only ones who actually got up on the roof before providing a bid. When the State Roofing team showed on the day of the project, they were professional and performed their work quickly. They were able to finish the roof in less time than they originally projected without sacrificing the quality of their work. Will highly recommend State Roofing.

My friend had her roof done by State roofing, and we liked their work so much that both my in-laws and I had our roofs redone by them as well. The communication as well as the work was all exceptional and no funny business like the other companies coming in and trying to upsell or talk you into unnecessary things. I would rate the work done and the customer service a 10/10

State Roofing installed a Presidential XL roof on our 45 year old house last week and it was a first class experience from start to finish! Work was done on schedule, daily cleanup as promised, and results are beautiful.

I am very pleased with the job they did on my roofs. Very professional and very fast. both of my roofs only took 2 days from start to finish. When the crew left, I couldn't even tell that they were there. They cleaned up everything. I recommend State Roofing to everyone.

The job was done quickly, the workers always informed me when they were coming, they cleaned up at the end of each day. The deck was professionally designed and built around my existing patio posts. The workers were well skilled and very professional. We'll enjoy this deck for many years to come.

Awesome customer service! Had a roof & gutters installed in January. Thought I had an issue with my gutters in March contacted my sales guy Jason who replied in minutes & had his team out later that day to look at it….Turned out I hadn’t checked out both ends & they were just clogged. But great to know that the response was super fast!

The folks at State Roofing did what they said they would do, from each department I dealt with during our new roof, gutter and downspouts project was outstanding from 1st contact with your Sales Rep to the materials crew, the roofing crew, and the gutter team to the accounting department. State roofing communication was great too!

On 3/7/2024 around 8:30am the material crew and roofing crew arrived. By 6:30pm the same day the roof was completed. (complete tear off and new install) It was awesome to see, a hard working and happy crew getting the job done in a timely manner.
The gutter team arrived 3/14/2024 around 9:00am and within 4 hours gutters and downspout had been installed and I was very happy for the respect the crews had shown for our property and neighbors as well. The total clean up that was conducted around the entire work area was outstanding.

Recently, an Amazon driver smashed into my gutter, which also caused damage to the roof. The folks at State Roofing came out quickly to give me a professional estimate which I was able to forward to Amazon and get remediation approval. The job was done to perfection....on time and within budget.

Who new a roofing company could be good at so many things? State Roofing's wonderful customer service and skilled professionals make them very easy to work with. I'll be using State Roofing not only for roofing, but for any other home repair/improvement services they provide.

State Roofing is great, I have a metal roof and had a large tree limb come into my roof in the kitchen. I called several companies and they didn't work on roofs they didn't install, but thankfully State roof will repair metal roofs. There were some delays due to snow in my area, but the job was completed and looks great. The whole team is wonderful from the estimate to completed job, they even cleaned up everything.

I am a property manager and so I have to deal with a lot of roof issues, my first call is always to State Roofing! Excellent service and speed, top notch quality and attention to detail.

State Roofing in Tacoma has been and continues to be the absolute best vendor I have had work on my home!   They did a super job on my deck, addressed the one issue that came up with no problem, and did great follow up!  I got many estimates as it was a large deck. Jason showed me how to look up vendors to see their license, insurance, etcetera. I saw how different they can be.  He also worked with me to adjust some things in the estimate to make the project fit my budget while still having the same functionality.  Even after completion, he continues to be a trusted resource for questions and referrals. Would totally recommend if you want a great job with no complications:)

Contacted the company because of an active leak in a commercial space. They told me they could come out on the same day and do a temporary repair for $750 and then schedule a permanent repair after that. Or I could wait 4 days and, if I read my writing correctly, Sara Powers(?) would call me to schedule the repair. I never heard back from anyone. Disappointing.

Update: I finally got a call from the company probably 3 weeks later (about a week after doing this review). Sara had no explanation or apology for not calling back in a timely manner. This is a real problem when you have an active roof leak in a commercial building with customers coming and going all day long. The same day day service for a tempory repair made no sense at all. Why not do the permanent repair at that time? The only reason; you can generate revenue twice at the expense of the customer. Ultimately another company came out within 4 days (including the weekend) and did a permanent repair for less than $500. They also had excellent communication.

If I had to choose one word to describe State Roofing, it would be “exceptional!” We had significant damage to our roof from a fallen tree and needed a company we could trust to quickly provide a reasonable estimate and do the work as soon as we got the OK from our insurance. State roofing came through for us every step of the way and it was truly a pleasure to work with such professional, competent and hard working people. They did what they said they would do, on time, and with no problems or delays. Like I said, Exceptional.

I had them repair some leaks on a roof they installed due to a separate awning installation. They added flashing to ensure that the leaks wouldn't happen. Four months later, it is still leaking, and State Roofing will not stand behind their work. Poor workmanship, and they want to charge me again to repair their mistakes or poor quality repairs.
Update: They sent out a manager to review the issue and a full resolution should soon be implemented.

This is in regard to the bidding process and I not the job of a roof. We didn't get a roof as stated before, we've chosen instead for repairs.

State was the 4th contractor we had give us a bid. The gentleman that came out was very professional and seemed very knowledgeable. He did use some sales tactics that are designed to "wow" you, that i kind of didn't like, but ya know sales. Like he handed me the material and telling me to try to pull it apart to prove the quality. Me not being able to pull apart 2 chemically bonded pieces of material doesn't prove anything to me.

As I said they were the 4th to come out, first bid was $8,500(so sketch), then $12,000, next $12,800 and finally State came in at $28,000. Morr than double the other highest bid. So, no. I did receive a follow up call from a different sales person. This person was nice and professional, but something he said really put me off. When I told him he was more than double his closest competitor's bid, without missing a beat he said, "I am sure we can knock off $5k." No changes to the order just knock off $5k. Which tells me they knew they were overcharging.

Last little bit, I was at a home show a year later and was talking to another roofing company. I told them about the experience and they belly laughed saying, 'Most of us bid the jobs to pay the bills plus a couple of grand, State wa ts to fill the entire Bank.'

Saying all of that I am considering getting another quote, as I really liked that material, so they did something right as I haven't written them off 100%.

State Roofing is an extraordinary company. When we had our roof installed, they did great work, as we expected from any good roofers. Then, over ten years later, when we needed warranty work done, they were just as easy to work with--fabulous, in fact--even though we were technically an expense and there was no longer any money in it for them. Their whole focus was making sure their customers continue to have a reliable, excellent roof over the years. Now we can't imagine calling anyone else for any roofing project.

State Roofing put on a new roof around May 2022. It was solid since then. Fast forward to late Oct/Nov 2023 and was getting a small leak in the kitchen.

Contacted State Roofing and they came out a couple days later. Jody, their warranty guy, came out and may have found the issue. A couple of nails may have come out, but was remedied and sealed.

Had a couple rainy days since the repair and have not seen a leak yet.

Positive experience so far with State Roofing. I feel they stand behind their work.

I was just visited by Jody Hammond from State Roofing. Wow! What a great guy! Jody was professional, friendly, and went way beyond expectations to take care of my problem. And it wasn’t even a State Roofing issue! If State Roofing has employees like Jody, I am a State Roofing customer for life. Way to go State for having professionals like Jody on your staff. We have had amazing service with Sarah at State Roofing, she is so knowledgeable and helpful! The install on our roof went smoothly and it looks great! Highly recommend!

Other than starting the job a day later than scheduled, and leaving nails in the gutters and on the ground, the work was ok.

The team was here on time, actually a little early! They left my home clean every day. They actually finished a day early. They were great!

State Roofing installed a roof on our new detached shop and carport along with DecTec waterproofing membrane on the balcony deck on the second floor of the shop. The roofers did a great job on the roof and made sure they cleaned up after. The DecTec install was not so great. First, the installers show up at 7:30am, two and half hours early, with no advanced notice. Secondly, they left us with a mess from the sanding they did, we have fine sanding debris all over our hot tub cover, deck and deck furniture. Most importantly, the installers spilled acetone on the DecTec membrane and smeared the pattern. Their solution to us was to either leave it as is or put a patch over it. They ended up putting a patch on it, which is very visible. Needless to say, we are not happy with the result and at a cost of $5,800 we feel this is unacceptable. State Roofing sent a tech out 10 days ago and offered us $200 off the cost or we could pay an additional $1,500 to have them install deck squares over the DecTec, neither of which are acceptable and frankly, the $200 off the cost is an insult. State Roofing needs to provide us with what we contracted for, a new, undamaged product on the balcony deck.

Caesar and Jason were great to work with they had my roof off in less than 6 hours an and a new one put on. They left the worksite cleaner than when they arrived. I highly recommend state roofing, superb value and a great team of people to works with.

Sales rep was nice young guy ... seemed enthusiastic....but was late ... over an hour by time got down to business ...and work other c o monies did in 15 to 30 minutes to work up estimate took over and hour with one delay after another .... and after all that he was away less knowledgeable than the competition ....and his bid vastly more expensive . Got multiple calls from the firm reassuring I was being well marketed to ..... they seem really super marketing oriented ....and thexrep was ok ...but a bit canned in the sakes presentation....and expensive ....and some kind of red flags ...such as statements that install time could vary from 2 to 4 days depending g on who was available to do the work that week ....overall ...not very reassuring ...literature touts time in business and fact that they comply with normal employment law ..as if that is something special in the roofing world ...

Go with another roofer. Consider this an addendum to the complaint from Ericca Griffin. We purchased the house from Ericca and within a year the roof has started leaking. You can see the bubble of water UNDERNEATH.

State roofing will not cover the costs to fix their shoddy work. Their service is overpriced and not worth the cost. I will not be recommending this company to anyone. They are overpriced and won't stand by their work.

After losing roof shingles during a big storm we called around (knowing nothing about ruffs) State Roofing was very responsive, quickly came out and put a tarp up in the bad spot, couple days later delivered material and next day installed the roof. The State Roofing work teams were mindful that my salon was open and that we were still accommodating our guests during this process. The wild weather about a week ago cause my smoke stack to come loose. Was not leaking, without hassle, they made an appointment came out right on time and removed the old stove pipe, repair the hole in the roof, and no more smoke stack. Job done on time and PERFECT.

State Roofing is the go to company for a roof installation in Washington state! 6 years ago I had a roof installed by them and they did a great job! The new roof is beautiful! About a month ago, a friend was moving into my house and a box truck hit the gutters and "pancaked" the gutter and slightly damaged the first row of shingles. After I replaced the gutters I called State Roofing and used their warranty department for the repairs. They replaced the damaged shingles and the damaged drip edge. You can't even tell there was slight damage to the roof. The case manager Paul Bailey was very good at communication and follow up through out the whole process of the repair and he went the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied with the repair. Thank you State Roofing!!! Highly recommended!

The bid process was quick & easy without any pressure to "sign right now". The installation crew was prompt, professional & very polite. My new roof & gutters like great & I would definitely recommend State Roofing!

They were a great company and I am very happy with their roof, already referred them to family. Justin who came out for the bid was a great guy who resolved any issues that might have arrised, he was on his game thu the whole process!

Very satisfied with the removal of the old concrete roof tiles, installation of the new roof, and clean-up. State Roofing also replaced our 27 year old gutters and did a fantastic job. Jade Andrews provided a detailed presentation and gave different options prior to us deciding on the materials. Jade was always available and kept us informed on the projects. Before I say anything else I do want to state that the job itself is adequate. Though they did rip out cables for internet and TV. I had to call technicians out to repair. Once they started it was done quickly. My issue with them was the timeliness of the job. We started the 3rd of October signing all the paper for financing after a quote. With a 6 to 8 week "guarantee " it will be done as long as we get financing. We didn't hear again from them till I called at the end of November. Now have I tried calling before this? Yes. But I had only left a 2 messages. At the end of November I called quite a bit. Still no one responded. I finally spoke to someone online and they had our estimate guy call us. As I explained I just need to know if we got approved for the roof or if I needed to put cash down or look elsewhere. After being lectured for 10 minutes about how as a customer I need to understand there is a blackout period. I just wanted to know if I was going to receive a roof. He finally said quite rudely after me asking him the 3rd time that yes we were approved because he already received his first half payment for the job. 5 months. It took 5 months from start to finish. I never called again as I was lectured quite thoroughly about black out periods and next time he won't answer. I would not recommend this company.

Not to sound super harsh but a flat out trash company. Not professional, messy, takes two weeks on a 4 day bid. Over paid for services hoping for quality and professionalism and boy did I take the bait. Please use someone else for your roof. Never had an experience like this with any other business or contractor and have been remodeling for over a year. Childish, unresponsive, and crooked.

Waiting for the roof to actually be installed. Came for one day trampled my plants and carelessly through old roof off ripping internet and cable off my house and have to have a tech come out to repair. Day 2 no one installing a roof. Day 3 still no one here installing a roof. I hope I can change this review we will see. I'm also nervous about the rain coming in tomorrow with no roof........... so far dissatisfied unfortunately things just got worse, stay away from this company and don't get took for the ride of b.s.

Unfortunately too little too late I will not call and be taken the run around of promises that will bot be delivered, where was the customer service when i was having work done. Certainly no one wanted to help until a negative review was placed.
