I purchased a 2017 GMC truck from St.augistine, Florida. The customer service
was top of the line. After having the truck for a few weeks, the radio began to malfunction. It
was only able to play music on one side of the vehicle. Naturally, I reached out to the dealership
for support with this issue. Unfortunately, no one was able to offer me a solution on how to
resolve this issue with my new truck and its radio. I was forced to contact the cooperate office
to get the radio issue resolved. The result was me having to have the radio replaced which cost
me $100, which I was alright with.
Approximately, two years later I began to have some issues with my truck. After having it
diagnosed, I learned that the transmission had gone out. Fortunately, my truck was still under
warranty. Now! My first issue with this process is they did not supply me with a vehicle to drive
while my truck was getting repaired. My second issue with this is apparently, this make and
model of vehicle has a history of transmissions going bad. My third issue with this is the amount
of time my truck was sitting at the dealership. My fourth issue with this was the lack of
communication about the status of my vehicle. I had to keep calling and asking for a date of
completion. After a few weeks of this I was finally told the transmission was on back order and
they did know when it would be in. I told them that I wanted to pick my truck up and I was
informed that the truck was disassembled. After being without my truck for 60 plus days and
having to pay for a rental car out of my own pocket, all while continuing to make monthly truck
payments on a vehicle that can’t be driven, I decided to ask for assistance with purchasing a
new truck.
January 4, 2025, I purchased a 2020 GMC Canyon with 35,000 miles on it. Less than 30 days the
truck started to do the same things, jerking and when in the lower gears it shifts extremely
hard. I contacted cooperate to inform them of my dissatisfaction with this vehicle. I believed
they sold me a truck that they knew had some possible defects. I took the truck in to the
dealership for a diagnosis.
On February 10, 2025, I was informed once again that the transmission has gone bad. Once
again, I was told that the transmission was on back order, and they did not have a date of arrival
for the new transmission. Once again, I am out of my truck that I am paying for. I asked again
about them giving me a truck to drive while my vehicle is being repaired. They offered me a car
to drive as a pacifier. They did tell me I could drive a loaner truck; however, I was not going to be
allowed to drive the truck out of state or allowed to tow anything with the truck according to
the sales associate. May I just add the reason why I purchased a truck is for a few reasons other
than the love of a truck. I have a business that requires me to tow and load my large grills to
events for catering, I pull my boat for fishing, and I often travel to North Carolina to take care of
family business. So now, I am losing out on money because I don’t have my truck, I am not able
to take my boat out to the docks for fishing which helps to maintain my mental health, and most
of all I am not able to travel the way that I need to take care of family business out of state.
Despite all those things not being able to be done because I am without my vehicle, I have not
received one phone call with an update on the status of my vehicle as of today. I went to the dealership one day to get some paperwork on the new truck and that is when I learned of the
back order on the second transmission. Imagine how I felt when I pulled up and saw both of my
trucks sitting side by side neither one of them working and both with the same issue.
Buyers beware of this dealership. They only care about one thing and that is the bottom line of
that sale. They offered a more expansive vehicle to me to purchase even after I gave them my
affordable price range. Again, that bottom line was there goal! My truck been there over 30 days!
