Dagmar Pros

2.4 stars. I won’t say ‘stay away’ or anything like that, but overall I have a very mixed review for my experience with Dagmar. Just know what you’re getting into, don’t bank on any flexibility, because you’re on your own after the project kicks off.

Started great, ended somewhat poorly as we’re closing out and I had some questions. Overall this is what led to an average to below average experience. I won’t go through the whole thing but here’s the high level:

- Project cost us $20k to replace an approx 15’ cross beam and pillars + siding and painting. 1300ish sqft home. Painting was $10k of that
- The work was all technically done. 80% of the work was done satisfactorily.
- Sales process stood out. Followed up, showed up on time, etc. Better than most contractors by far
- The work crews themselves were great. Everybody we dealt with on site was friendly.

The crappy part - The actual management was haphazard and comms were all over the place with multiple people. Things left a bad taste in my mouth after everything was done and we’re getting ready to sign the final docs (one of them is a ‘work completed’ doc).

I shared that I thought the pillars seemed a little unfinished and I asked if they could come take a look. Long story short the answer was “the work was technically done,” “they kept records of everything” and generally started hanging the contract etc over my head (paraphrasing). That type of thing. Very lame way to end things with no effort to talk about what correcting the issues even looked like.

@dagmar - I know the deals/pains of getting things signed and paid. None of what I flagged was unreasonable, and it’s the whole point of the close out process. Simply put, the experience was misaligned with what was sold

These contractors are excellent. I had my roof replaced 14 years ago by low budget roofer and I got what I paid for. This time around I went with these pros. They came out in the first part of April and did a complete plywood re-sheet and roof replacement. They used a total GAF system down to approved staples and tiger paw underlayment. The crew completed the roof in two days and were extremely professional, they even offered us some of their pizza for lunch. They saved my 4 custom skylights ($2,000 each). They left the site clean. It rained heavily today and no leaks, and no tarp on the roof anymore. Total thumbs up.

We hired Dagmar in early November to paint our house and replace a window. The sales people were nice and easy to work with, and took the time to understand what we wanted and needed. We even discussed having them replace our deck after the paint was finished. We had the expectation that the work should be done within 2-4 weeks. We prepped and cleaned things up to be ready for the painters. Then we waited. And waited. By the second week of January, we hadn't heard anything for close to two months, and it we wondered if they forgot about us. I reached out, and talked to our coordinator, she said the window was ready and they should be out soon. We waited, and this time, about 6 weeks went by with no contact or updates.

The window finally got replaced in late February. The work was pretty mediocre. When they left, there were dark marks and scuffs and rough spots all over the window frame on the inside, and on the exterior, the window is white(see pic), which stands out, and doesn't match the dark color of the other two windows on the same side.

A week later, they called to let us know we were ready to get the paint done. The painter showed up, and it was not Dagmar, but they had sub contracted the work out. Not a big problem, but this was the first we knew about it. Then the following Sunday morning at 9am the painter showed up to do prep work, which was a surprise. I wasn't carrying my phone with me, but i did see they(Dagmar) left me a voicemail 45 mins prior. Seemed par for the course by now, and we were ready to get this over with.

It was two more weeks before the painters came back to do the work. It seemed like most of the details we talked about with Dagmar got lost along the way, and we mostly started from scratch with the painter.
But the painter was a bit more professional. He gave me his number, and the communication was good throughout the paint job. We are happy with how the house looks.

After they left, it was another week before some other rando from Dagmar contacted me to collect final payment. Nobody from Dagmar has followed up to see how we liked the work.. or to see if we are still interested in having them do the deck work (we aren't, we'll find someone else). And thus, i submit this review. Well done!

And one last thing, when they contacted me about final payment, they said there would be an additional 3% charge if paying with a visa. So I told him I'd write a check, but would need to post date it a couple days to transfer money to the checking account we have checks for. I mentioned that two times, then handed them the post dated check, and the following morning, they cashed it. Had they told me they were unable or unwilling to wait, I could gave made different arrangements. Par for the course for this company.

Overpromised & under delivered. While the quality of work was acceptable the communication after I signed the contract awarding Dagmar the job was mediocre at best. I was told I would have one point of contact throughout the process and was sold on the fact that Dagmar employees are factory trained installers. Dagmar then sub-contracted out the entire job and we had several points of contact throughout the job including at least 3 from Dagmar and 2 from the subcontractor leading to slowed communication. When I asked about the use of a sub contractor I was told that the subs receive the same training but Dagmar is protected from OSHA violation tickets by using them. At the end of the day, I should have just hired the sub contractor directly and saved myself a few thousand dollars since, to Dagmar’s own point, the work is the same quality. To my knowledge there was never a Dagmar employee on site from beginning to end.

Had these guys out today and they told us everything we needed to know! So knowledgeable and are helping us complete this task. Unknowing of how bad our roof actually is and these guy are here to save the day. We were able to explain our situation and they gave us solutions!

Brandon from Dagmar came out to give me a new roof, Louis and the crew came out and did a quick and respectful and professional job!! Definitely recommend!!

Everybody at this company is personable, professional, and diligent. Shane and Eric's presentation was to the point and informative. Every expectation that was set was met. Ishmael, the foreman, was awesome and was very communicative as well.

We met Dagmar through a Facebook advertisement and we're glad that we did. We were impressed with Brandon and his level of knowledgeable. The Foreman was excellent and the crew was very respectful to our property. We would definitely recommend Dagmar to our closest friends and family. Or anyone really.

We love that they are a local company and their hearts are really in the right place. We met with 4 companies and Dagmar had the greatest value for the price. 50 yr roof and I love that they have rebates for veterans!

MY ROOF IS LEAKING. it's only been one year since Dagmar installed my metal roof. Now my bathroom ceiling is molded over from the leak and the wood is soaked. Loose seal around the vent boot... sealing the vent. - Dagmar is able to make it right. Hoping to have it fixed/ and bathroom sheetrocked by Dec. ... Never finished the job. Left me over both holidays without a bathroom. Not cool

My husband and I an excellent experience with Richard at Dagmar construction. From start to finish his team was professional, and efficient. The team worked quickly, and left no mess behind. Our new gutters look amazing. I highly recommend Dagmar construction to anyone in need of a contractor.

Just signed off on my roof. You know it's a big purchase and it can be scary. But let me assure you that Josh Bodine made it easy. Nice man and answered all my questions and concerns. Done in 1 day including the garage. I'm telling you wouldn't have known they were here it was so clean, no nails or Debree, just look up and OH my gosh, Josh you did great. So I have a no soliciting sign on my house. The neighborhood scouts absolutely read it and kept walking.

I was playing outside with my 7 year old and Shane walked by and very nicely approached me and started talking to me. While we were talking he also played lacrosse with my son. We talked about and I agreed to have them come to look at our roof.

The next day a guy came out and showed us the issues with our roof. It's a 15 year roof from 2000 and it's 2024. He said shane would come by the next day to give us numbers.  The next day shane came by and went through allllll the numbers with us. He went over the "end of season deals" and got us a fantastic price, that even included a Veterans credit since my husband is a veteran. While going over numbers and signing docs, my son put our RC car into the sewer . Shane literally helped us take the sewer cap off and get the car out and brought hot wheels and stickers for my twin 2 year olds.  Mazy made financing easy and the paperwork wasn't difficult at all.

We were contacted about an installation date pending weather quickly.

The day of the crew was here at 8am. Very professional and friendly. They swiftly got to work and were quick. I went to leave at 5pm and went to say "I'll see you tomorrow and I will I'll bring donuts", but they said they wouldn't be there because they were done. I was shocked. Completed in less than a day. We had one question about a spot and I text shane about it. He was there the next day and we got it figured out. Seriously would recommend Dagmar for your needs

Dagmar Construction helped me from the beginning of getting financed to completion of a beautiful roof. there was a portion of the roof that was sunken in that Needed trusses repaired. They gave me a very clean, solid straight roof that I am proud of. It definitely increases the value of the house if we were to ever sell it. I will end with three words, experience, integrity, fairness!

While working on the install, i asked them to be careful not to drop debri into our koi pond. A worker put a piece of plywood over the pond, and under the wayerfall which drained the pond. Luckily i caught it before it killed our koi. Less than 1 week after the roof was installed, it leaked and flooded my new kitchen bamboo floor. They sent workers out and repaired the new skylight they'd installed. Now a bit over 1 month, it's leaking again.

Shane came by to assess my roofs condition. This is the second time I've met with this company and they've been great both times. This time, they found a solution that worked me. They are honest and have done a lot of work around here. Felt like meeting with a friend. Wish I could give them 5.5 stars.

Our roof replacement was a huge success. Working with Erik and his crew was great!! They did the work respectfully, competently, and left our property just as they found it. We would definitely recomment Dagmar Construction.

Erik, and DAGMAR construction installed a complete new roof system on my house in Woodland Washington. The entire experience was professional, thorough, and done on schedule on budget and I a percent satisfied. This new roof will give me peace of mind for as long as I will be here. I highly recommend DAGMAR for any construction projects you have.

Great service, effective communication. Erik and Isnael started out doing a large patio cover, for out hot tub and outdoor kitchen. The quality of the work was so good, we decided to have also replace our vinyl siding with attractive Hardie board siding, and a new roof and gutters. What was a tired looking 70’s ranch, is now a beautiful home, we can happily age in place at. Thank you Erik, Isnael & Crew!

Dagmar has been the most friendly, professional, and efficient construction company I’ve ever used. I highly value people who do what they promise to do and Dagmar not only replaced my entire roof and repaired our deck, but they even replaced a screen door for us, which I don’t think is part of their normal services!

Because they did so great I asked them to build me a home office and they knocked that out too!

Our Townhouse row consisting of connected roofs incurred damage from recent storms. Six contractors were contacted and Dagmar was selected because of the ability to meet immediate needs. Their service was excellent, on time, took care of the extra repair needs while replacing the roof and thoroughly cleaned the area after each work day.

Dagmar has done fantastic quality work on every project we’ve hired them for. I would recommend them with 5 stars every time!

Erik provided several options for a new roof and came in with the best price for what we wanted. He scheduled the work for an appropriate weather window, the crew was very efficient and careful. None of the many flowers or shrubs around the house were damaged, all materials from the old roof were cleaned up as they were working on tearing it off. They cleaned up each evening before they left for the day. The new roof was installed per expectations, the crew was very diligent and careful to get the job done right. Would recommend for anyone in need of roof.

We had Erik from Dagmar Construction do some major home repairs for us. Everyone was professional and courteous, and all the work was done in a timely manner. The communication was great through the whole process. We are beyond satisfied with the quality of workmanship, and would absolutely recommend Dagmar Construction to anyone. Erik and his crew constructed a Lean 2 with metal roofing that was attached to our large custom storage shed as a cover for our truck. His team did a wonderful job in building a solid and secure structure much to our pleasure and satisfaction. His team was always on time, courteous, and professional in every respect. We highly recommend his company and workmanship!

Erik and the folks at Dagmar are awesome and were a real pleasure to work with. They helped us fix a skylight issue and replaced the surrounding roof area as well. They were quick to respond, spent time diagnosing the issue, and repaired it as soon as we had a good dry days. I plan to call them again for future repairs. 5/5 recommend

Great experience. Eric was very responsive and kept us informed of the status throughout the process. Fair price. Roof was done within two days and the crew did a good job picking up everything when they were done.
