Matador Exteriors

After receiving three other bids for a new roof on my home, I was referred by a previously satisfied customer to Matt O'Dore with Matador Exteriors. I had done my homework, I was familiar with the most common shingle brands, and had watched several videos on YouTube about the various factors that make a roof durable and appealing and what costs I should expect.

All of the contractors who visited me were polite and professional and offered quality brand-name shingles at multiple warranty levels. They were all experienced and demonstrated strong product knowledge, but their bids varied by as much as 100%.

Not only was Matt's bid the lowest of the four by a small margin, his proposal was more complete, more professional, and more informative than the other three. Then when he met with me, not only did he answer every question I had with experience and truthfulness, but I recognized in him a personal commitment to quality control, a dedication to superior customer service, and 100% transparency about the transaction. That really appealed to me.

Although my reroof did not involve any special requirements or unexpected repairs, we did have a period of heavy spring rain as we approached the job date. Not only did the materials arrive on time during a break in the weather, but a six-man crew working consistently and professionally finished the job in virtually a single day.

Then Matt not only inspected the work, but personally walked the entire perimeter of my home twice with a magnet to ensure that absolutely no debris or nails had been left behind. Then he spent another 20 minutes with me after he was done just to be sure I was satisfied and had no further questions. And all this was completed just before the heavy rains returned just 20 minutes later.

I haven't been up to take a close look at the roof yet since its installation, but I sincerely doubt I would find anything that makes me think twice about this decision. This guy and his crew are one of those gems you hope you'll find when you go looking for contractors and have no idea who is out there. I feel blessed to have had good luck with other contractors in the past on the three homes that I have owned in my lifetime, but I have never been quite as satisfied as I have been with Matt O'Dore. If I had a second house that needed a new roof, I would hire Matador Exteriors again in a heartbeat.

We spoke with Matt and used this great company on our roof replacement. They are the best roofing company in Vancouver, Washington. Now we are using them for a siding job. They are far and away our preferred exteriors contractor.

We had big leaks in ~30 yr old galvanized sill style rain gutters. Had 3 bids to replace with seamless aluminum gutters and downspout leaf screens.
So happy we selected Matador Exterior Roofing/Gutters. Matt O'Dore himself inspected our home and his professional knowledge was very evident. He spotted we never had proper drip edging and knew exactly how to install proper flashing without damaging the existing roofing shingles.
Matt's installers arrived on-schedule, had a newer gutter forming machine for 6 in K-style gutters.
The crew of 3 got busy doing the removal of old gutters, installing drip flashing, making/installing new beautiful white seamless aluminum gutters with hidden fastners, adding downspout leaf filters, and finally performed site cleanup.
Matt and his team were outstanding and completely finished in 1/2 day as planned.

After finding a water leak in a 20+ year old roof, I asked Matador roofing to come out and give me a repair quote. Matt (owner) came out within 24 hours and inspected my roof and attic area to assess the leak and provide me with a repair quote. He was very professional and thorough, providing me with a repair quote (including internal drywall repair), some advice on what I could do myself, and also suggested a full roof replacement. There was no doubt on his experience and knowledge but out of an abundance of caution, I got other quotes with two other companies. It was quickly clear that Matador roofing was the best choice in experience, knowledge, and value. His initial suggestion of reroofing was matched by all other quotes and we chose to proceed with Matador for a full re roofing, roof venting repair, and internal drywall repair. Matt even provided me with a couple of materials options to better understand what my overall pricing options were. His quotes were easy to read and provided enough information to understand what was involved.

I feel that Matt was honest and upfront with me. He gave me an initial verbal estimate and when the formal written quote was drawn up, he was actually came in below his initial estimate and passed those savings on to me.

I am typically “that customer” and often question everything and challenge things that I feel need addressing. Despite my numerous questions, Matt was always polite, professional, and always addressed my questions and concerns.

On the first day of work the team was clean, fast, and thorough. The second day also went off without a hitch and before we knew it we had a beautiful new roof.

I would say that the only negative was that I found upwards of 10-15 roofing staples in my yard aftwards. This came as a bit of a surprise as his team performed at least two magnetic sweeps around my property after working and then Matt came out himself for a final third magnetic sweep. They certainly put forth a good effort (x3) at getting the staples but still missed some. But that was the only negative. All else was stellar and worth the investment.

He even pulled out a drone to show me the finished roof. Great touch.

I found Matador Exteriors of Vancouver to be highly professional, knowledgeable and actually listened to my needs. Its a bonus that the owner comes out to see the roof himself and BIDs can be more competitive without paying a salesman, appt setters, etc. His wife helps with computer work which further helps keep customers cost low while focusing on high quality materials and workmanship. I'm confident the roofing details he educated me on will contribute to a long-lasting quality roof replacement.

Highly recommend Matador Exteriors! If you start getting quotes from companies you’ll see how much they vary. Matador Exteriors were honest and great value. I was kept informed of everything, they were on time, clean up was impressive. Excellent job all round and Matt’s a nice person to boot.

The Matador team addressed my leaking roof immediately, and then gave a very fair estimate to replace it. The owner is very communicative and his team is extremely hardworking and efficient. They were able to replace the roof quickly and the overall experience was a positive one. I’m hoping I won’t need another roof for a long time, but I would use them again.

Matt was professional from beginning to end. My project was skylight installation and adding ventilation to an addition on my home.
When he came out, he spent enough time to go through everything I was thinking of doing and pointing out the pros, cons and options for where and how to install everything. His estimate of the whole project was comparable with the estimate other contractors gave me for just the skylights! The crew came out and finished the job in just 2 days, working when they could to beat the rain. Finally, I had just had surgery and wasn't comfortable up on ladders so his crew cleaned my gutters out while they were up there! Great experience all around.

It was pleasure doing business with Matt( owner) Matador Exteriors! He was great at listening to what I wanted done to my home and explain to me what was going to be needed to get the job done. He did not try to sell me anything I did not want.

Matador exteriors is a fantastic roofing expert. I was initially approached by a competitor when they knocked on my door. Until then I really thought I had more time for a new roof. That first company quoted me over 17K and I thought it sounded off. When I bought my home I was quoted 8K by my general contractor. So I did a little more searching and Matador Exteriors impressed me from the start. The owner, Matt, is so honest and really took the time to explain the whole process and the difference between the choices of materials. As a new home owner I literally knew nothing. But I could feel the difference between his salesmanship and the former company’s. It wasn’t a constant upsell and it wasn’t fraught with pressure. and when his quote for comparable materials with a similar warranty came in at 10K, I was pretty much sold. I had two other quotes and had to figure out some finances, but I ultimately decided that the quality of materials and his honest demeanor was the best fit for me. He ended up scheduling me much sooner than expected and the job only took one day. I was so worried about the sound level since I work night shift and have sensitive dogs. But his roofers even stayed a little late to get it all done. And I was beyond grateful. They did a fantastic job and even fixed some little leaks in my porch cover. I highly recommend this company. No pushy sales pitches. No rip off prices. Just honest work and quality materials, with a great warranty at a great price.

Killer company. This guy played football at my middle school and I called him for a bid when I found out he started a roofing company, he showed up on time, saved me from a company that tried to charge me at almost double price, and his guys got done with the job super quick and they were VERY clean. This is my first house so this was very important to me. I'll recommend him to anyone.

After receiving several different estimates Matador Exteriors came in on the low end. No corners were cut and the end result was fantastic!

Matador Exteriors continues to be my go-to home exterior contractor of choice. After Matador installed our new gutters recently, we identified some needed roof repairs, including tiles that had blown off in high winds, re-caulking trouble spots, and replacing some kick-out flashings. Even though the job was small, Matt and his crew made it a priority and got on it right away. Within a few days of my call, all repairs were done and I had a detailed service write up in my inbox. Matt and his team were a pleasure to deal with, throughout the process of recommending, installing and educating on a great gutter cover product. On top of the precise gutter cover install, I learned quite a bit on the state of my gutters and ways to maintain in the years ahead. Keeping Matador at the top of my list for future exterior work without a doubt.

Matt was quick to respond and come out to assess my house. Spent 2 hours just on consultation alone. Identified what needs immediate replacement, what should last a few years and what shouldn't need any work for the foreseeable future.

He even recommended against some siding replacement that I requested, explaining that it's just cosmetic issues and only need some minor repairs. A really good experience to be treated with honesty rather than being up sold regardless if its needed or not.

At the end, had itemized his assessment and identified where we could save money without voiding manufacturers warranty. Highly recommend.
