Other companies had lots of reasons they could not come out any time soon but BV came out the day after Christmas and gave us a reasonable repair estimate. Buena Vista did a great job replacing our roof. I had 4 different companies provide estimates for the job. Buena Vista's bid was competitive and they had a product I like. There were also no surprise cost at the end. The staff are friendly and very responsive. They just recently came out to conduct a free 1 year inspection and everything looked great. I don't write a lot of reviews but I wanted to make sure to recognize their great work. Highly recommend.

Buena Vista Roofing was the only roofer who assessed our job that mentioned the option of using non-organic shingles that would never attract moss. In Portland, that's a major plus, and of course we had non-organic shingles installed.

BVR did a decent job creating a ridge vent on an old SE PDX house, but the installer left behind rusty roof snips, some nails, and pieces of cut shingles on the rooftop. Cleaning up debris would’ve earned you a 5-star rating. Contractors know better. Thx

I have referred Buena Vista Roofing to multiple clients over the last 10 years and have always received very positive remarks from the clients that worked with them. They are always willing to come out and provide a bid, and typically get the job by the very competitive rates and quality products they use. Highly recommend!

If I could provide a lower star level I would. These guys came to estimate my roof repair and assured me they had identified the root cause and provided an estimate. Then when their plan didn't work, they came back over the next three months unable to figure out why the roof was still leaking. When they finally sent someone competent to identify the reason the roof was still leaking, they decided they were going to charge me all over again for their incompetence. Do not hire this company. Their communication is abysmal, their quality and competency deplorable, and in the end they do not take any responsibility for their work.

And they did a wonderful job incorporated All the little details for a roof to last. The were timely, they cleaned up after the project. They reposned in a timely fashion when we had some damage done from an ice storm and repaired it before any interior damage could occur. Would contact them again if I ever need roofing work done again.

My roof was in very bad shape. Buena Vista replaced my roof, and provided some very wonderful replacement skylights, that I really appreciate for the light in the winter time. Had our balcony redone in 2018. They did a wonderful job and the balcony is doing great! They also rebuilt the railing to the balcony and everything has continued to hold up! Really great company.

We needed a roof replacement as our roof was 20 years old and the original roof when the house was built. I had 7 different companies scheduled to come bid. Buena Vista won our business by working with quality products (Malarkey Shingles) and being a pro installers them which lengthened the warranty, having one of the best prices, the best communication from the office staff, the best packet of information, and the best overall reviews of any company that came out. They weren’t the cheapest but very competitive and seemed to be a reputable company. I only had one complaint and that was that they scuffed my new gutters with their ladders while putting on our roof. I worked with Abigail at the front office, which was fantastic by the way, and she coordinated with the crew and send the foreman out with a color matched can of touch up paint and they promptly got the small scuffs touched up and all is well. They even left the entire can of touch up paint for us to have for later. The quality of work and knowledge of the foreman and communication was great. I would definitely use Buena Vista again and have already recommended them to neighbors and friends. Thanks for doing a stellar job and being so great to work with.

Buena Vista was probably the best contractor that I have used for a home improvement. They did what I wanted, they did a great job, they paid great attention to detail, they did it in good time, they were polite, they didn't try to sell me something different. The project manager Edgar was great! They kept on budget. They cleaned up and did not leave a mess. They were polite. Edgar kept me notified of timing and schedule. The roof looks great!

I'm really happy with the new cool metal roof that I chose and they installed. I live in a potential wildfire area and a metal roof is much more fire resistant, so I feel safer. I can also already feel the house is cooler due to the heat reflective roof.

And none of my tenants complained which is remarkable since its miserable to be living inside a place in which a 3 layer roof is being torn off and new plywood and shingles being installed. I really appreciated working with them and have referred them to others.

I'm grateful receiving a highly recommended referral to use this company. Every stage of the process worked out. I had an opportunity to go cheaper but knew I wanted higher quality build + materials + service experience, and more importantly, a relationship where I could call one person to resolve any issues.

Fortunately, to this day, the latter has not been required. Their post inspection caught items that did not meet their high quality standards. They were transparent about it and made corrections before final payment was required. Their work has survived 3 years of crazy wind, snow and ice storms, so far.

Thankful I chose them and glad they follow up each year on their craftsmanship warranty, which instills a level of trust if/when an issue may arise.

The staff were professional through the whole process. They have excellent communication and follow through. There were no empty promises. They were even quick to respond to an unforeseen problem when it was raining and solved the issue promptly. I won’t take my business anywhere else except to these people.

They came out as quickly as possible and got the job done in one day. We discovered another leak and they came out that day to check. They came back the next day and fixed it too. I love that the work came with a warranty. I will be hiring them for any future roof projects.

For starters, you installed a number of attic vents, at an extra cost to me, when there is no attic in my house! The attic was remodeled, so you vented the space between the sheet rock and the roof. When I asked why you did that, you lied and said if was useful. Darn it! I wished I never used you.

Our house has a unique shape, with an 8 sided great room and a chimney in the middle. The beams running up culminated to a flattened point next to the chimney. And that area collected water and leaked unless we applied mastic to seal it about every 4 years. The guys from Buena Vista covered that area with "water & ice" sealant paper then roofing. That worked. Then several years later, I noticed water marks on a beam in the kitchen. They came right out to check. It was a bad piece of flashing around the chimney. Fixed it right up, no additional charge. And not only did they do exceptional work, but Buena Vista was the best estimate I got! And instead of using "satellite " measurements ( to figure out how much roofing we needed), he actually climbed up and physically measured it! He told me 27 pallets. I said 3 others said 31-32 . He said that was too much, and he was right! Don't believe the "satellite "! They just want to sell you roofing you don't need, and can't return. Buena Vista is a great, family owned and run, local business

Buena Vista did a wonderful job on our roof replacement. They did this work in a very timely fashion in very difficult conditions as it rained through the whole job. Their price was very fair for the quality of the work. I was extra happy to look in my attic and see they even re-did my bathroom ducts and vents, which were very poorly done when our house was originally constructed. I would recommend them and use them again if I ever needed a roof replacement.

events in mid December our old roof started leaking. Buena Vista was recommended to us by a neighbor.
One of the nicest people we ever met, came over, went through all the necessary materials we would need for the job and gave us an estimate.
There was a three day weather window coming up in about three days. The crew came over and started roofing on a Friday. They finished up Sunday evening. The job site boss kept us informed throughout the whole process. The work crew were all friendly, polite, and energetic
& the cleanup around the house was outstanding, leaving our yard & gutters spotless. Additionally; they installed this excellent ridgeline vent, Our attic has never ventilated properly,
(the workmanship was superb)

"Buena Vista Roofing helped me with a unique issue. I needed a reroofing and got estimates from three different companies. I chose Buena Vista because they were a family own company. they were punctual with the estimate and it was reasonable. During the process the weather turned and one of my large spruce tree snapped and fell onto the roof doing some pretty good damage. They were able to repair the roof reshingle and replace the gutters since 70 feet of gutter was destroyed. I highly recommend them for roof repair and reroofing."

It was a bit overwhelming to choose a roofer for our tear-off and new roof, since there are so many companies and all seem to be well reviewed! We ultimately chose Buena Vista Roofing due to many factors, such as they were one of the lower cost estimates despite the various upgrades they provided, and we were able to get Vista Malarkey shingles and a new ridge vent for a lower price than other companies were offering for budget shingles and box vents. Add in the fact that they are family owned and operated, super friendly and responsive, and willing to answer my million questions and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a new roof! The roof install looks great, all in all just a great experience and we look forward to enjoying our new roof for many years!

After I let them know I'm the new owner of the house with transferable warranty on the roof in December 2019, they submitted the receipt paid by the seller. I asked them to do minor repairs as the warranty states, but no one came to work on the flashing or call to confirm any appointments. I still have not heard from them at all as of March 31, 2020
