What a GREAT COMPANY! Ashley is Responsive and on point with communication to begin with. THEN, personnel and their work ethic, quality of work (I climbed up on my roof to observe), friendly and informative customer interaction, as well as excellent communication skills. I live in Strawberry Station in Moncks Corner. I've seen a lot of roofing companies in my neighborhood, and read from disgruntled residents who made a bad choice for their roofing contractor. Choose Big Bear and you will be delighted, not only by their admin, but also by their installers. Just ask Ashley to send Tim out for your roofing project.

This is my second review for Big Bear. My first one was a 5 star because in the beginning service was great, warranty leak covered, hail inspection done and everything seemed good. We have recommended them to family, friends and neighbors which some used them. But now 5 years in we have been have a problem that we didn’t have with our old roof. We called into Big Bear and they sent an Estimator out “Ashley” which she was super nice and very knowledgeable and could very clearly see our problem. But she informed us that they sent her out by mistake. She don’t handle warranty calls so she let us know that somebody else would be coming out. Which never happened, instead I received is text… Hello Lori this is Rich again with Big Bear Roofing! I spoke to Ashley and my production manager some more about the issues you are having with debris coming in through the ridge vent. It appears that nothing is wrong with the workmanship, and that this just something that unfortunately happens sometimes due to debris from nearby trees. What we can do is remove all of the ridge vent and install a filter underneath it to prevent this from happening, but this would be considered a new repair. So in other words…. The lifetime warranty isn’t going to cover all the trash and bug getting into the attic. I’m not talking about a little debris… I’m talking everything in our attic is covered in leaves and pods like the roof is wide open. When you open the attic door you have to sweep up a pile of yard debris! We can’t store anything without it being in plastic or you might as well sit it outside. This never happened with our old roof and I’m not convinced that the roof vent is on right at all. They will NOT get anymore recommendations from us. I would be embarrassed for anyone else to be going through this and I have warned all the others that we recommend and got roofs from them. It’s truly disheartening that they find this very unusual but are not willing to fix it under the “lifetime warranty”. Another response that I received…Please keep in mind he never came out and put his eyes on it to make sure that the filter was on correctly, damaged etc….The ridge vent is technically always open, and I would say it's not very common that we get roofs where we need an additional filter to prevent this from happening, I've only seen it happen one other time. Like I said before this is very disheartening to say the least… we did a lot of research before picking this company with this very expensive upgrade. They sold us with the “lifetime warranty “ that seems to be no good in this case. Does anyone else have to rake or blow leafs out of their attic with a new roof? Just Curious ‍♀️

Great company! They thoroughly repaired leaking areas on my roof that was only 5 years old a couple of years ago. The previous contractor ghosted me even though it was still under warranty but Big Bear fixed it at an affordable price. Another nail pop surfaced recently and Ashley was very informative, professional and responsive on the necessary repair. Highly recommended company.

We had considerable age-related damage to our roof, it was a mess. From start to finish Big Bear, and Dallas in particular, worked out all the details even after we added an application for the SC Safe Home Grant. We now have a beautiful new roof that has the hurricane straps and extra bracing resulting in an insurance discount. Every change order was detailed and every work day was scheduled ahead with very polite and competent workers. Clean-up could not have been better. In summary - Big Bear is great!

My experience with Big Bear was nothing short of amazing from start to finish. This roof replacement was a good experience. The roofers were very respectful of me and the effect this had on my landscaping. From the beginning of the process, to obtain a quote with Dallas, with Rafael the crew leader, Rich the project supervisor and all of the roofers, I was very pleased. Dallas Bolen provided the quote for roof replacement, explained the transferable warranty and the installation process that would take place. He was able to answer our questions and provide documentation as we requested. Supplies were delivered 2 days in advance. John Bolen was our site supervisor, if he wasn't on site he would call to check how we thought things were going. The crew of 6 arrived at 6:45 a.m., they unloaded there tools, tarps and other supplies. They hung tarps from edge of roof to cover plant beds and landscape lighting. They started with the backyard side of roof, scraping everything off, replacing wood as needed and making requested repairs to a few small areas. 2 other members arrived and proceeded to clean most of the debris. John was there several times during the first day, going on the roof and taking pictures and relaying info to the crew leader. I have a sprawling ranch with room over garage and 12' X 32' screen porch. The crew returned next morning to do front side of house, our brick gazebo roof and shed roof. Everything went like a tuned machine. After cleanup they ran magnet rakes in the beds, surrounded grass areas and driveway. John the site manager was very professional as was the crew. John came by a day later to do a walk through and also went arould the areas with a magnet rake. Based on the total experience, I would highly recommend Big Bear Roofing. Just a note, a little kindness goes a long way. We provided water, Gatorade and lunch for everyone. They all were very appreciative. I had GAF shingles on my roof and chose GAF again which included GAF installation process and materials.

I’m overall and completely satisfied with my ENTIRE experience with Big Bear-from the estimate to completion! They were very professional, courteous, friendly, quick, and punctual! My new roof looks amazing (improved my home immensely) and they didn’t even leave a mess behind I’m pleased and blessed that I chose them among all the other roofing companies from which I researched, met, and received estimates. I chose Big Bear after contacting and interviewing 5 roofing companies. Andrea was the reason I chose BB. Her explanations, presentation and impeccable follow up were clearly the best. Nolan, the site manager was just as good and was very helpful to me as I had to be away for most of the installation. He provided on time updates, drone pictures and onsite inspection of spots that were questionable. The team of 8-10 men worked hard, smart and finished the job ahead of my expected finish time.

I priced out a new roof with 3 different companies in Charleston. While this market is more expensive than what i am used to Big Bear provided the best quote. Jason Cates helped me 3 years ago when my insurance company told me we had to replace the roof in order for them to continue our insurance. Jason came and inspected it, took photos, made the needed repairs and sent photos and invoice to my insurance company so they would insure the home. He assisted me in proving we didn't need a new roof at the time.

When we recently had a leak he came back out and we decided it was time to replace the roof. Big Bears quote was half of what two other local companies gave me. Nolan over saw the work and coordinated the replacement around my tenants. I will only use them going forward.

I was contacted within a few days and repairs were made the following week. They repaired the hole in the roof and even inspected the rest of the roof when they were up there. I’m very pleased with Big Bear. Andrea was very informative when inspecting my old roof for a quote. She took the time to do drone footage and show me all the areas that were in poor condition. She also took the time to show me some of the materials they use and how they differ from other companies (the difference in quality is impressive).
On roof replacement day, the team showed up early and got straight to work. They did a beautiful job installing the nee roof and didn’t leave a single scrap of the old stuff. Rich even tried getting ahold of my neighbors to make sure nothing fell into their yard as it’s right next to my garage. He was unable to speak with anyone so he went into the roof to catch the debris before it could fall. He also came back the next day to make sure nothing was missed in the cleanup and make sure I was happy with the roof.

I only have great things to say about Big Bear from the job being sold by Dallas all the way to the job being cleaned up. My biggest pet peeve is when crews leave a huge mess. I can’t tell anyone was even here. Nolan (supervisor) checked in every few hours and kept me updated on every step. I love my new roof! Thank you everyone for all of your hard work.

Nick arrived at my home early! Looked at my roofing issue thoroughly with an on site inspection of the stain on my upstairs ceiling, a thorough inspection of the attic in the suspected area, and drone photos of the entire roof. He immediately shared that the event causing the small stain is most likely a fluke occurrence due to the January 2025 snow we experienced in the Charleston area. He spent a total of 40 minutes at the house, and explained carefully with the photos on his iPad. He sent a follow up email as well, and requested no compensation for his time. Thank you Nick for your expertise and time.

At first I was thankful for this company doing a metal roof coating. They initially came out and took pics of the roof. They failed to say if there were an area that wasn’t able to be sealed. On the day of the project, I realized they used my home water to pressure wash the roof but I didn’t say anything. I am thankful to the workers (Mexicans) who worked hard in the heat and finished the metal roofing coating within 2 days. However fast forward to this year and My uncle decided to get a different roofer himself to assess our metal roof and to our surprise look what they found! Look at the two toned metal panel! Another / different roofer was so nice, HONEST, open with effective communication and was KIND to inform us that our metal panel had a huge hole. Big Bear roofing head man or workers thought it was a brilliant idea to NOT communicate this with us. As u can see (picture attached) they placed a WHITE sealant on only 3/4 of the metal panel and thought it was Perfectly acceptable to not inform us that they would/ could NOT seal this area with the hole. I would think showing and communicating with the customer such as myself option(s) to at least replace the metal panel even if it costed more $. This is why I’m
Already skeptical hiring bigger companies bc they want the contract $ and that’s it. PPL OF FEW WORDS.
Tip: Treat others the way you want to be treated. Go the extra mile. You know we aren’t going to climb on a 2 story house and look at the roof ourselves. We hire you assuming to be an open trustworthy company. I hope you don’t do other customers like you did me. Picture of the metal panel that they denied to inform us about that wasn’t completely sealed due to the hole is attached. Good luck. I wasn’t a lucky customer unfortunately.

Big Bear Roofing did a wonderful job on my roof and cleaned the mess up perfectly. Ashley was such a wonderful peson to assist with all the things that I did not understand how to do. She has been such a Godsend to me and a sweeheart to work with. I was a mess to work with I know because of some really bad pesonal issues that came up during the job that threw me for a loop but Ashley was so understanding and worked with me during this time. Original work seemed very good but after a few months we discovered a leak. After initially quick service of correcting the robben and sending a contractor out to estimate interrior repairs, we heard nothing from them for months. After trying to arrange them sending a contractor out they asked if I wanted to do the work. I agreed with the stipulation that I would have to wait for an opening in my schedule. I'm a very busy handy man and repair man. After a few months I took care of the work. All along my wife kept in touch with them making sure everything was still OK . After sending the bill we've waited weeks for compensation. We got a call today saying the would give us $500 out of a $2000 job and blamed us for it taking so long and that we insisted on doing the repairs which is far from the truth. I recommended this business to one of my clients and they got the job on that recommendation. That will NEVER happen again . Plenty of other good roofers I this area. Hopefully more professional.

Jason, Ashley, and Clarissa worked hard to make sure that my families needs were met. They really helped advocate for me when my homeowner's insurance and mortgage company tried to make this a difficult process. I've already recommended them to my mother in law. Big Bear did another fantastic job with her home which included two skylight replacements. I won't need another roof for a long time with their incredible warranty but I would recommend them to anyone in the Low Country.

Had a bad Leak on my roof close to the area where the plumbing vent pipe boot is located.

Inspected area in attic and discovered that the wood was rotting. Big Bear Roofing was recommended by a coworker. Called them and they came right away and performed a thorough inspection, took pictures of the damage and Tim, the project manager, called with a reasonable quote.

The crew came out early in the morning, replace the damaged area, added new shingles and replaced all new pipe boots for the whole house. Very, very impressed with their work. They were courteous, kept me updated with the progress, was super-efficient and most of all, cleaned up everything and didn’t leave a trace. Tim sent updated photos of the work performed and ensured me if I see anything I’m not happy with, to call and they will come right away.

Big Bear did a great job with our roof installation. However when providing the quote the surveyor, Alex W, broke our ladder. The team “repaired” the ladder and then two weeks later it was broken again. When I messaged and asked for a proper replacement, we were ghosted. I would recommend using another company.

Big Bear Roofing supplied the best price (got 3 quotes), the installers did a fantastic job demoing and installing the new roof and did a wonderful job cleaning up afterwords as well as protecting various things in my yard from damage. Those guys deserve a raise.... or at least a bonus! The project manager and install manger did a great job of keeping me informed from signed contract to completion. I highly recommend Big Bear!

Big Bear was great! Nick kept us informed every step of the way. When our insurance did not release all of our funds, Big Bear contacted them multiple times until we finally received the funds.
