Watkins Construction & Roofing - Hattiesburg, MS

Watkins Construction made our roof replacement process simple and transparent. From the initial inspection and quote by Joel Myrick to the project execution by Andrew Harden, communication was excellent and clear. They worked us into their schedule as soon as possible for the quote and roof replacement. The crew was efficient in their work and thorough in their clean up after the job was complete. I would recommend Watkins Construction to anyone needing roofing work.

Work performed:
1) old cedar wood siding, flashing, trim, frieze board, fascia, and soffits completely removed and replaced with Hardie Board siding and other Hardie Products
2) old gutters removed and replaced with new gutter system

I am very pleased with the quality of work performed and equally pleased with the timeframe of the project from start to finish!

Watkins Construction quoted my project with a final cost that matched my expected price on materials and labor. When I was told that the job would take 3 days to complete, I had my reservations but remained optimistic!

The siding team arrived on a Tuesday morning along with their tools, equipment, and all Hardie material to be installed. The team hit the ground running! On day one, the team had completely stripped the house of the old siding, soffits, and fascia, in addition to the old moisture barrier sheeting. On the same day, any moisture damaged structures were replaced and installation of new OSB and sheeting was completed. Before departing for the day, all materials were re-organized and readied for the next day.

On day two, the Hardie installation team began installing the new siding. By the end day two, the installation was approximately 98% complete. The team worked steady and put in a full days work. Before departing, the team left the work site cleaned and organized for day three.

Day three began with the Hardie installation team completing the final pieces, cleaning the work site, and departing. Shortly after the installers departed, the painters arrived and immediately began applying caulk where required and was completed by noon. That afternoon, painting was performed and was completed by the end of the day. Upon completion, the work site was cleaned and the painting team departed.

Due to forecasted rainy weather, the gutters were not able to be installed until the following week. Although the three days were exceeded by an additional day the following week, the entire job was completed within a reasonable timeframe. The gutter installers arrived that following Wednesday and completed the new gutter system installation before the day's end.

I am very pleased with the professionalism displayed from Watkins Construction from start to finish...from original assessment, quote, workmanship, cleanup, and keeping to all the agreed upon terms as close as possible. I would highly recommend Watkins Construction to anyone looking for a reputable contractor and will use Watkins Construction & Roofing again without hesitation for future projects!

A new roof with an 80% deck sheathing tear-off was purchased from Watkins. The supervision was excellent. The crew were well-trained, especially in the protection of the surrounding property. Sadly, a crew member had a small through the ceiling incident. Luckily, he was not hurt. The Watkins staff made quick arrangements for a ceiling repair to a stippled-type painted ceiling. A real artist came to my house, and he finished the ceiling exactly back to the surrounding surface. I could not be happier with the completed new roof.

I had Watkins come out and do my roof and gutters. The entire experience with them went well. They did a very good job on the roof and gutters. They made sure everything was well cleaned up afterwards. I'm very pleased with their work and would definitely recommend them to anyone.

From the moment that Joel stepped on our property, we knew we were going to be in good hands. He did a thorough inspection and we were able to get a great idea of what exactly would be needed. And no way shape or form did we feel that he was trying to oversell us. We had a good understanding of what needed to be done. Once we agreed that Watkins would do the job, Stephanie was very informative on scheduling and keeping us updated. Tyler and Stephanie both followed up after heavy rains to make sure that all was well. Highly recommend.

Our roof looks so much better after being cleaned. We had some visible black streaking on the back of the house. Now the roof looks brand new. Everyone I’ve spoken with is so nice. Highly recommend.

I had some people knock on my door asking to get on my roof. I let them get up there and they all said I needed to file a claim. They said I have lots of hail damage. I called my insurance agent and he said to get one more inspection. He said call Watkins construction and roofing.
Joel came by inspected the roof. He showed me photos of my roof, talked about what insurance would look for and told me he didn’t see enough storm damage to file a claim. He was very educated and left me with more knowledge than I could had asked for. I will definitely call Watkins when I have a roofing need.

We contacted Watkins because of a leak. They sent 2 people out the next day to check for roof damage finding several problems as possible causes. Within a week we had a repaired roof.
The team of roofers were extremely professional and worked all day only taking a short break for lunch.
We want to also mention the manager on the job, Matthew Hajj, who was on the roof with the team of roofers, checked the job again when work was completed, and walked the ground around the house checking for any roofing nails or trash.

I was super impressed with how quick they were able to come out to look at our issues, provided a quote for the job, and complete the job. I appreciate the quick response and have been assured if there is any issue with the repair after the first storm comes in they will come back to address it. Watkins Construction delivered first-class service on my recent roof replacement. All representatives were responsive and professional. Most important, my roof looks phenomenal, the crew trimmed back some overhanging limbs, and left my yard spotless. I haven’t found the first nail and the roof was installed 6 days ago. I called Watkins for an estimate on a replacement on my roof. The woman that answered was fantastic. I saw the great reviews and her service was so great. Being optimistic, I made an appointment for them to come out and give me an estimate. The man that arrived seemed less than interested to be bothered with this. He shut down when he heard what insurance company I used. He gave me a quote of more than DOUBLE the amount out of 4 local roofers also with very good reviews. Wish he had just told me he did not have time or want to do the job. I had to take off work to meet this guy. And it was pointless.
My insurance approved the replacement a week later and B&A Roofing did a 5 star job just a day ago. I hate to leave this review but shop before settling with this company.

This team of professionals were awesome! From salesman Joel who was very informative and so nice to Ashley who coordinated work orders and kept us updated frequently to Django and his crew for their professional repair job. Django also was nice enough to repair a small area that wasn’t included in the work order. You won’t go wrong with this company!

Joel Merrick was a great help in getting my appt set up and getting info to me along with Mr.Ashley, and Theresa and David who were great help from the Insurance Dept.
