Townsend Honda and Tim Jones have just given me the best car buying experience of my life! I didn't think I would ever be able to afford a brand new car but Tim Jones didn't stop until he found a way to make it work for me and my budget. As of two days ago, I am the proud owner of brand new 2025 Honda Accord that I am absolutely in love with!!!! The care and service I received at Townsend Honda is unmatched by any other dealership I've ever been to in my entire life.
I recently visited this dealership to check out an oil leak and an issue with the car pulling to the left. I was advised to get an alignment, which I agreed to. But after the service, I was told that a full alignment couldn’t actually be done because the adjustable rear camber arm on the driver’s side needed to be replaced. I was also told I’d need to pay full price again to redo the alignment after installing the part.
Unfortunately, even after the alignment, the steering wheel is still crooked and the car still pulls to the left.
It’s very difficult for me to afford paying twice for the same service. If I had been told beforehand that the part was necessary for a proper alignment, I would’ve had it installed first and only then done the alignment, thus avoiding having to pay twice for the alignment.
I also reached out via email to explain what happened and ask for help, but I never got a response. That was really disappointing.
I’m leaving this review hoping future customers are given clearer information up front, and that the dealership follows up better when someone has a concern.
I was searching for a specific color 2026 Honda Passport RTL and found what I was looking for on Townsend Hondas website. I completed the online inquiry form regarding my interest in the vehicle. I was contacted by phone the next day by Joey Clark, senior sales representative. He is obviously a very good listener because I didn't have to repeat anything to him and he summarized my needs perfectly. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to agree on price, value my trade and complete the purchase seamlessly. When I arrived at the dealership everything was ready to go. No surprises. I had a great experience with Joey Clark and the people at Townsend Honda from start to finish. It truly was a no hassle buying experience.

I’ve been to Honda multiple times and I can say with the utmost confidence that these people try to help customers as best as they can and as fast as they can. I had to get my tires replaced the first time and they were telling me in detail about prices and the wear and tear on each tire set that I could potentially acquire. It’s been months since then and I have not had a single issue with my tires!! They also went ahead and did a full inspection on my vehicle and told me everything that was wrong with it and let me know how long I can go without fixing certain parts and how much they would cost!! Very cautious and very detail oriented. Went back to get an oil change and they did the same thing and did a full inspection of my car letting me know once again the same things as last time. Definitely can say without a doubt these mechanics are good at what they do.
Saturday we went to Townsend Honda in Tuscaloosa after a very bad experience at another Honda dealership. When we got out of the car and started walking around Randy Washington-senior salesman walked over to us. Very friendly, knowledgeable, answered all of our questions without making us feel beneath him. He was very up front with us and we knew where we stood. We knew our options. He walked us through every step. We arrived at 9 and had bought the car by 1030. Even the financial guy, Patrick, was so easy to work with. Just a great situation all the way around. They made you feel like you were the only person in there. Can’t say enough good things about them. Definitely 5+stars
I bought a 2025 honda pilot in april 2024 I was driving last week when smoke started coming out Since it was still under warranty, I called Honda to talk about the condition of my car. they told me to bring my car up there A few days later they got me and said my car was in very the damage is due to an outside source that caused the issue and they said i have to pay over 1300 they refuse to accept technical errors I refused to pay the amount I owed.im other the part and I do it myself I took the machine apart and I knew they were lying and not admitting their mistakes Only after checking did we know it was a manufacturing defect I don't see anything and there's no cracks, pebbles or anything. Everyone buys Honda or Can in I am very disappointed When I came to pick up the car I had to pay $181 What do you think about my problem?waste of money The car is still under warranty and cannot be repaired cost more These guys are irresponsible I hope no one is like me and in the same situation as me or is naive
My experience with Honda has been terrible — like dealing with a piece of crap. I bought a 2025 Honda Pilot in 2024, and recently the rear H2O tank started leaking. When I took it in, the Honda rep told me the tank was cracked due to a rock hitting it. But when I got home and checked more carefully, I found out there’s a front AC coolant reservoir that’s completely fine — so why would only the rear tank be leaking?
It makes me think this was a factory defect — maybe the plastic was weak or poorly installed during assembly. This kind of failure shouldn’t happen on a nearly brand-new car. And yet Honda refuses to take responsibility.
Japanese car companies nowadays act like they’re still premium, but their quality is trash. All they care about is blaming the customer. To make it worse, when I brought my car in just to fix recalls — which should’ve been free — I got charged $165. That’s unacceptable.

A structural diagram of the vehicle is not particularly difficult to obtain in 2025, especially with AI-assisted consultation. Your diagnosis was completely wrong and has caused damage to the buyer of a brand-new car. It is impossible for a rock to fly through the A/C condenser system without damaging it, and yet hit the radiator located behind it. This is clearly a manufacturing defect during assembly, which caused internal damage from the beginning — the consequences only appeared later during operation.
It shouldn’t be difficult for a company to simply replace a faulty radiator for the customer. I’ve been driving since I was 20, and I’ve owned many older vehicles. I know very well the common problems cars have — and yet you say I poured water into the cooling system just to keep driving a brand-new $58,000 car?
That’s either a ridiculous report from your technician or a complete insult. If I were a fool, I would’ve left the car with you already. Do you really expect me to keep adding water for the rest of my life just to drive this expensive vehicle?
Stop looking at things and jumping to conclusions. If you’re not going to fix it, at least admit your mistake instead of charging customers to cover up the issue.

It's like taking something from your mother and then, when caught, blaming your father. If your technician had admitted the vehicle's fault from the beginning, I wouldn’t have argued, and I would’ve received Honda’s warranty support.
I trusted your dealership — I even left my 2019 Honda vehicle with you before. Just a few months after purchase, the car frame started shaking, and your shop diagnosed it as a manufacturer defect, and I was covered under the Honda warranty. That’s what built my trust and why I bought another car from you.
So why this time are you refusing to do the same? Why are you trying to charge me $1,300 for a ridiculous issue and claim it was caused by me? I'm deeply disappointed. You’re spending your parents’ money while now asking me to go call 1-800-HONDA.
I have just purchased my 3rd vehicle from Townsend Honda. Jane Cobb has been my sales associate every time. It has always been a great experience! I recently traded the 2023 Honda Accord for a 2025 HRV. The ONLY complaint I had with the accord was the front seats especially the passenger sit way too low. It was difficult to get in and out of that car due to the front seats being so low. I have had the HRV for a week and so far I am loving it!

I have taken my car here for service several years and I'm tired of waiting three hours for an oil change. Why should I need to request an update on my vehicle after I’ve been waiting for over two plus hours? The efficiency of this place has decreased. Townsend Honda has become increasingly intolerable and unacceptable.
Honda was going to leave me STRANDED at work!! I had an appointment for my vehicle to get serviced early that morning. I relied on their courtesy shuttle service to get me to and from work. I was told I would get a call when it was ready so that I could be picked up. I got off at 4:30 PM and remembered that they still had my car. I called and they told me they just finished with it “a couple of minutes ago.” I asked if I could be picked up and was told that THE SHUTTLE STOPPED RUNNING AT 3PM!! LUCKILY, a coworker took me to go get it, otherwise I would not have had a ride! To add insult to injury, they texted me, WHILE I WAS STILL ON THE PHONE, that my vehicle was ready for pickup at 4:40 PM. Mind you, the service center closes at 5:00 PM and I work on the UA campus! I had warranty work done so they didn’t mind leaving my car outside the gate with the key in it. I guess I would have been out of luck if I had to pay for the service and had gotten there after they closed!! This is completely UNACCEPTABLE and I expected better customer care and service from Townsend Honda!!

If you are at the point in your life where you need a mini van do not make the mistake I did . I bought a Toyota Sienna only to find out it has no spare tire no way to get your family off the side of the road when you have a flat . On one of the coldest days of the year Shan stood out in the weather to show me the Honda Odyssey came with a jack and spare tire . Shan understood what I was going through and helped me get what I needed for my family. As a Toyota man I couldn’t be more happy with my new Honda and the kindness of this dealership . I came in on 1/31 around 11:15 -ish crying & very upset because I had my rotor replaced and fixed at another tire shop the day before, I had driven an hour from where I live to tuscaloosa to go to Sams when a man stopped me at the gas station to tell me he could hear metal grinding when I was pulling in, I had paid over 150$ the day before to fix this rotor so I drove over to honda since I live an hour away and did not know what was wrong, I forgot to ask his name but the nice older man in the service part was very nice and helpful and got my car fixed in an hour, I was very very thankful for him and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves!

I visited the dealership on a Saturday and was greeted by Joey. Joey was initially kind and helped us by getting the vehicles we wanted to test drive. After some consideration, I decided to move forward with one of the vehicles and asked that an independent inspection be completed. Joey and I then had some back and forth about how this would take place as I've never had a dealership offer for me to take a car home that I haven't purchased, nor do I feel comfortable doing so. Before leaving on Saturday it was determined that I would call my mechanic on Monday and let them know Joey would be dropping the vehicle off. Joey informed me that he would call me Monday when he was on the way to the mechanic. Unfortunately, Joey did not uphold his end of this agreement. When I called on Tuesday to confirm that the vehicle would still be taken in, Joey informed me that I was supposed to call him Monday to tell him to go to the mechanic and since I had not done so the vehicle had been sold. This was not the agreement. And, if Joey thought it was, I don't know why he would not have given me a call on Monday when he had not heard from me. I understand that a for sure sale is better then a possible one but the lack of professionalism to follow through with what has been agreed to has taught me not to use this dealership in the future. Which, Joey seems happy with as when I addressed these concerns with him he said that he was perfectly happy if I don't give them my business.
The SALES part of this Honda is great but the SERVICE DEPARTMENT is awful seems like it’s managed by immature and disrespectful leadership. This is the second time having similar issues the first time they forgot to put the screw the oil drain plug all the way and my mom car broke down from running out of oil we had to tow my moms car to another Honda dealership almost an hour away. The service was great and faster there.
On Friday mom called and said her car was making some weird sounds so she had it towed maybe 10 miles was charged almost $200. They said they’re going to do a diagnostic which usually takes a few hours it has been days and no call or update. My mom has reached out and so have I to see what’s going on the young lady that answers the phone tone is rude and far from something you would expect from a customer service employee. My mom calls back to see if she can get a rental car until she gets her car back and the young lady says they are out and will not be getting any in soon. Next, my mom called and I have also to get an update we finally get forwarded to the service department they were worse than the young lady answering the phone. We have called twice and the guys picks up says “hold on” the phone rings for a few minutes he picks up says “hold on” and sends you to a voicemail.

Tim is amazing!! I bought my first car from him nearly 10 years ago now, and I lost it this fall to Hurricane Helene. So I called my dad and asked him to reach out to Tim and see what he could do. Before I took my car in it was running fine I did take it in for manufacturing safety recall on my fuel pump they did complete the work but when I got my car back it was running horrible they told me I needed the front end alignment I didn't need one before I got there they wouldn't give me any paperwork telling me that I needed a front end alignment they would just buried on professional and really didn't want to help anybody just giving me the run around and there was a couple of other people up there having problems out of them

And to All the staff you all were so nice and welcoming to me and know how to take care of their customers and make them leave with a big smile on their face . Brain Abrasley especially to you the sales person that got me taken care of by making sure every thing was handled and taken care of that day by the time I reached Townsend Honda at 4:15 . Didn’t take long at all I was done with paper work and ready to drive off the lot by 5:35pm he made sure I leave Townsend Honda that afternoon with a nice vehicle . Tim Jones is always excellent to deal with. My family has personally bought more vehicles with him than I can even count! Super professional and always trustworthy. Townsend Honda has a great and clean facility with very welcoming staff! This is the only place to buy a car!
Tim was such a kind person to work with. We did my entire purchase through text messages . He was very responsive and never was annoyed to answer my 1 million questions. I am team Honda forever now.
I have taken my car here for service several times (2018-2020), and I often had an unsatisfactory outcome. Once after an oil change the maintenance minder was not reset. Another time after an oil change a tool was left on my windshield. Then there was the time they flushed my coolant, spilled it, and didn't wipe up the spill. Finally I was told the shoes on my rear brakes were worn out and needed to be replaced. I took my car to another shop and was told the shoes on my rear brakes had more than half of their wear left.
The sales associates I talked to here were nice with one exception: in 2024 Randy told me not to come back until I was ready to buy.
I always had a good experience with the people in the parts department.
