This is the third occasion I have utilized Durable Slate...all for different issues. Their repairs are costly but perhaps in line with others offering similar service. Work needed was fully explained prior to initiation. All members of the work team from estimators to job site employees polite, diligent, and professional. I will continue to use this company for my slate roof repairs if/when they crop up in the future. I have a 100 year old house.

We have been using Durable Slate for maintenance and various repairs on our old slate roof for years. They are not the lowest cost slate contractor out there but - as the saying goes - you get what you pay for. They use proper materials and the work is always of the highest quality. They have been around for a very long time and you can be sure that they will be there and will stand by their work should you ever have any issues. In general, slate roof repairs are expensive no matter which contractor you choose to do the work. But done correctly, they last for years. You might as well go with the best contractor available and get the work done right the first time rather than risk wasting a lot of money for sub-par work that wont hold up over time.

Professionals in every sense of the word from the first call with quick follow up to getting the work scheduled and the quality of work done. I have used them twice in 40 years and random checks of the roof in between always been happy and money well spent. Half of what a shingle roof would cost and has lasted twice as long.

The workmen who did our extensive repairs after storm damage from a tree hitting the house were very experienced, courteous, and easy to communicate with. The results look great.

One of the best features of my home is the slate roof. With regular care and maintenance it will protect my home far beyond my lifetime. It bears the character and legacy of my home's pre-1900 construction, and I wouldn't trust it to just anyone. When I first bought my house, I didn't know much about slate roofs. The first company I reached out to didn't show up. I saw Durable Slate's truck and gave them a call. They were prompt, helpful, did a few repairs and recommended return visits every few years. They've been back twice; the second time they said the repairs could wait a year or two. They came back a few days ago and replaced a few slates for what I think is a fair price. I know this company does really big jobs, but they've treated me, a homeowner of modest means, like I meant big business to them. I couldn't be happier, and highly recommend them.

BTW slate is great--as long as I spend a few hundred bucks every few years, I'll never need to spend a few thousands replacing (and wasting) asphalt shingles every ten or twenty. In my book that's an excellent trade off.

I have been using Durable Slate to maintain my 123 year old slate roof on my house. I have had a large amount of work done over the last few years including the replacement of 4 or 5 originally valleys on the roof. Their work is always top notch and they are very responsive and professional. The most important thing about having work done on a historic home is being able to trust the contractors. I always have full trust and confidence that the work is being done correctly and that my historic home is being taken care of.
