Our slate roof was in good condition having been maintained by general roofing companies in the area for decades. I called Durable Slate because I wanted to work with a company that specialized in slate roofs to ensure the longevity of this roof in an area where many are being replaced with other products. Durable Slate provided a good condition report and worked with us to phase the work needed to reach our goals. The entire staff communicated effectively and the on site crew was top notch. Even being located a few hours from their Savage office, it was like working with a company right here in town. We look forward to an ongoing relationship with Durable Slate to maintain our roof for years to come.

Unbelievable service from beginning to end. I do not write reviews but felt compelled to do so. Companies that provide consistent respectful services should be recognized. From Mr. Giron to the quality control inspector, Mr. Flores, l cannot say enough about their quality of service and care. They did everything to address my questions and were transparent. Mr Flores , the Quality inspector has been here for over an hour!

The slate roof of our historic 1925 home in Cumberland, MD was in need of some TLC, due to deferred maintenance by the former owner and shoddy repairs over the years. Durable Slate was amazing, from start to finish! On contact, they promptly sent out an Estimator, who assessed the issues and provided a reasonable quote for repairs, inc. slate tiles and copper flashing. Work was performed by Master Craftsmen, with care and precision. A final Quality Inspection occurred to ensure all work was to high standards. These guys are the real deal; couldn’t be happier with the work, service and cost!

I am very pleased with my slate roof repairs. My slate roof is the original roof and is over one hundred years old.
We had to postpone repairs due to weather problems but Mike Latorre kept me informed and was sorry for the delay.
The repair crew arrived when scheduled and went to work.
Repairs were completed in less than four hours which included the clean up.
The roof looks great. I can't tell the new slates from the old. The work was perfect.

Durable Slate has done roof repair for us a few times, which included installing a custom-made copper stack vent cover, replacing quality brass snow guards, chimney flashing, repairing/welding previously installed flashing, and replacing several slate tiles. The crew has always been very professional, timely and personable. The whole company team has been great when working through our custom roof needs. I highly recommend them.

The Durable Slate Company did a very specialized repair job on the hidden gutters and all the water flow areas off the roof of my Queen Ann Victorian home in Cumberland Maryland. Mynor and Alain were the two craftsmen who did the copper,slate and carpentry work they did some high quality repairs and the copper work looked like a work of art!-also the work ethic of Mynor and Alain I haven’t seen in twenty years.They come in early in the morning work till it’s dark and only miss a day when it rains-very impressed!

after looking for years and i mean 3 year for someone to touch my slate roof after calling everyone in our town we went on youtube to watch slate videos found some durable slate videos that were pretty interesting look up the company and found out they service our area in the end they were the only company willing to touch our slate roof and im just happy finally find someone who can work on our 100 year old bank slate

On 9/16/22, The Durable Slate Company made repairs on my 1937 colonial house Buckingham slate roof. They replaced broken/missing slate, reflash 3 soil vent pipes with copper, reflash 2 chimneys flashing with copper cut into motar joints & seal, install 3 missing galvanized snow guards and pressure washed the front section of the roof. I’m beyond pleased with the workmanship and finish appearance of my slate roof. It looks amazing . I have received numerous compliments from my neighbors. Charles Willis, Ismael Mendoza and Melvin Ortiz. They took the time to answer my questions such as what is a soil vent? They explained everything that was done to the roof and made a recommendation on how to prevent roof mold. Thanks to the work crew. I’m afraid of heights.

We are so impressed with Durable Slate. Melvin and Jose were so professional and they worked through extreme heat to complete our repairs. They came early everyday and cleaned up after they were done. We could tell they took pride in their work. A week after they completed the work, a supervisor came to our house to reinspect the work done on the roof. We never had such follow up. We would definitely recommend Durable Slate.

When the slate roof of my 1946 brick colonial in DC started leaking, all the roofing companies I called recommended that it be replaced. But Edwin of Durable Slate, who carefully looked at (and walked the length of the roof) said that with repairs, the roof could last another ten to twenty years. The repairs were done in Dec. of 2021 by Jose and Melvin. Four months have gone by, with lots of heavy rain, but no leaks!

It's hard these days to find a roofer who specializes in slate. I heartily recommend The Durable Slate Company.

On August 24, 2020 The Durable Slate Company completed the third slate roof repair job on my old stone home. Two highly skilled craftsmen, Edwin and Jose, replaced slate, a beautiful copper roof ridge, and custom made roof vent covers. Couldn't have asked for a more professional group to work with. Enjoyed working with industry experts on historic train station and freight house slate roofs. Exceedingly professional and detail oriented in their work and fair in their pricing. To check my roof, they sent a drone with camera to examine roof thoroughly. Other companies took photos with their camera from edge of roof or from the ground. And, those companies even came in at much higher prices and said I needed to purchase extra slates in case any break while they are repairing it. This company said they would take the responsibility of replacing any slates they might break.

I had work done 6 months ago that was perfect. And, when I questioned how something was done, they said it would be no problem to change it and sent their guy out again to explain the repair. But, then I changed my mind because there way was correct.

I then had a leak on a different part of my roof last month. Because it was an active leak, they sent someone out quickly to prevent any more water from getting in my house until they could schedule an actual slate replacement.

Additionally, every person I dealt with in this company was super courteous and helpful and genuine and professional.
