I do tree work and work for myself. It’s essential that my saws work so I can finish jobs quickly. Mark at Ace Hardware got my saw running in less than 20 minutes. He was quick and professional and really got me out of a jam of my own making. All the employees at Ace have been very helpful and kind. I’d recommend this store to anyone.

Mark and his crew have always been great! I had an issue with a Stihl trimmer and they had it repaired before I could finish shopping!

Fast and friendly service as you would like it to be. The Stihl salesman was vey knowledgeable and helpful for deciding to make my purchase.

Go here every time before you check the big box stores because this place is why local hardware stores are so fabulous. Everyone's friendly and helpful. And they have more inventory than you might think. Now, they have the full line of Stihl power equipment, including service. When they fill up your propane tank, you'll realize how much you've been getting cheated by those tank swap places.

Even though this is not the easiest place to get in and out of, it is a good store. I find the staff is very helpful and friendly. There is a wide selection of items and the prices are what you would expect.

Uriah and Michael were super helpful! Initially went in for supplies for a project, but in the parking lot I had some car troubles. Both were quick, polite, and knowledgeable. Cannot express my thanks enough!!

Northwest ACE Hardware in Blacksburg is everything you could hope for in a local hardware store! I absolutely love the friendly, community-focused atmosphere—it’s such a refreshing change from the experience of navigating a massive megastore like Home Depot or Lowe’s.

The customer service here is exceptional. Everyone is incredibly knowledgeable and ready to assist, but I especially want to highlight Mark. He always brings great energy, goes above and beyond to help, and consistently finds creative solutions to any issues I bring to him. His dedication and positivity make every visit a pleasure.

Their prices are fantastic, and they somehow always have exactly what I’m looking for—whether it’s hardware essentials or even Pokémon cards for my son!

This store is always my first stop for any project or need. It’s a local treasure that combines great service, great prices, and a great selection. Highly recommend!

Whoever the two guys working at 12:00 pm on 10/26/24, you’re literally the reason why this is one of the best stores I’ve ever visited.

I came in looking for a screw and nut for my bike. I didn’t know what I was looking for, but the staff let me bring my bike in and helped me find the exact pieces I needed. Very friendly would definitely come here again.

We came in to see about reprogramming our car key. The employee took our key apart, diagnosed and fixed the problem. Saved us a couple of hundred dollars. That's great service!

A little over a month ago my daughter broke her key fob for a Volkswagen Jetta. After going to a dealership and the locksmith we decide to take advantage of the Ace hardware auto key replacement that they were advertising. Seems like a pretty good value so we tried the Dublin Virginia store first.
My daughter went in alone she is 18 year old and the employee working the kiosk totally dismissed her to the point where she got frustrated and left the store.
The Blacksburg Virginia store being about equal distance I decided that I would try this store and initially the service was good they did say they would have to order the key for the Volkswagen Jetta and it'll be in 7 to 10 days. After 2 weeks I started calling with varying degrees of customer service but all saying it hasn't came in yet will call you.
Finally after nearly a month I called and after a while they said that the key had come in I didn't ask what day I was just glad to get some traction on this issue. After the manager started grinding the key he said that they shipped the wrong one and they were not able to help me he did Apologize gave me a refund but offered no solution for this problem.
I understand one employee at one store having a bad day so this has been two separate locations 30 miles apart this may just be a systemic problem with Ace hardware or the automotive key replacement program may not be where it needs to be.
In an event I will not be patronizing Ace hardware anytime soon.”

Awesome to have a real hardware store with real inventory and really friendly and helpful staff in town. This Ace reliably helps me avoid going to Christiansburg. The previous TruValue that was here was such a letdown that I barely ever considered going there for anything... 90% chance they didn't have it, if they did it was overpriced, and the staff was not helpful or nice.

I have only been here a few times but it's been a great experience and it's a very convenient location! Many times there's no need to drive all the way to Christiansburg

I was in there about 10min ago. I tried to get the website price on a product I was purchasing. They told me that the store is stocked by Ace but not owned by Ace so they don’t except Ace website prices.Guess that were a local small businesses bullcrap must be rubbing off.

I came in yesterday to get a drill bit and ran into your wonderful employee, Mark. I ended up walking out with 5 other things because he was so helpful! I had a lot of random things I needed to fix in my apartment and he gave me helpful recommendations/solutions to my issues. Greatly Appreciated!

Very nice ace hardware, the staff were friendly and helpful.
I noticed they had Pokemon cards behind the counter, I wasn't expecting that but it was an interesting addition, no magic cards though. I would have liked to see MTG in with the collection to buy.

Wow! The shelves are packed, and prices are reasonable. Everything you need and only minutes away. There are plenty of staff, ready to help. It's just like it was in the 80s with Heavener.

Place is pretty cool they have a ton of different things you may be looking for. And they have plenty of employees. Something that is rare these days.

Northwest is breathing new life into this place. Best grilling selection in the area. Rubs, sauces, and tools are all at your fingertips and you can grab items to complete your honey-do lists as cover.

I have been in here a couple times since it came under the new ownership of being Ace and not Heaveners. I am impressed with the selection and appreciative of their pricing, it’s comparable to the big box stores prices. I will most likely be back here. Staff was super friendly greeting and letting me know where I could find what I was looking for.

This place kicks the old truvalue to the dirt. There’s actually stuff you need stocked plus more you didn’t think you’d need. It sure as heck beats going to christiansburg.

Well stocked with kind and helpful staff. It’s nice to have a hardware store so close to home (really beats driving 15 mins to Christiansburg.)
